Turn off private relayUpdate: Someone exaggerated I visit the ship’s Internet cafe and chat with the tech guy on duty. Turns out if you have an iPhone and the private relay feature is turned on, you need to turn it off. Both NCL apps work just fine now. Now being able to really compare both apps while on board, I prefer the old app due to the chat feature and the deck plans/maps. If NCL continues with the new app, please add those 2 features! I’ve been on the ship all day and the app still doesn’t recognize I’m on board even though it shows ship time. The ship’s internet is working fine on my phone but neither app (this one and the old one) will recognize I’m on board. I can’t see my itinerary or any of my excursions/meal reservations. The chat feature of the app isn’t coming up like it normally does. I’m very frustrated. This shouldn’t happen. I liked this new app better than the older one right up until I boarded the ship. Expect better from NorwegianWas happy to see a refresh to the old stale NCL app. Wondered why a 2nd version launched while keeping the original. Some old features were lacking but overall the refresh looked great and ran rather smoothly. I have a cruise on Encore this December and was looking forward to using the new app. Unfortunately, the app hasn’t loaded in a month. Like everyone else, just a white screen. What puzzles me is how there is no engagement from NCL on the matter. No replies to all the comments saying how the app is broken. Nada! How does a huge company such as NCL have such a huge miss? Talk to your customers! Fix the app! Like no excuse for this to be a month of it being inoperable while staying silent. Let people know at least if there’s a fix coming. What a downgradeThe new app is terrible. I don’t understand the good reviews. What do you want from a cruise ship app? Ability to see ship floor plan when you are on the boat. You could on the old app you can’t now. The ability to see all the activities (in a readable format). On Celebrity you can then add those that interest you to your personal itinerary. On this one you can’t do this. You can see the print version of the daily in very small font in a pdf type version. Might as well stick to the paper newsletter. This app is almost useless. At least you can see dining and shore excursion reservations but that’s about it. Needs improvementThe method for gaining access to WiFi is not as easy as it should be. At no point should using WiFi minutes be at risk in doing so. It would be helpful for a reminder within app to alert you to the events that you are interested in attending. Since last night at 8pm due to ship board medical issue the boat returned to Naples . We didn’t leave Naples for 3 hours. At this moment it would be helpful to know what is the arrival time to port. New and old app stinkOld app has some features you need but lacks others, New app has lacking features but now missing the needed features you had on old app. The “my plans” section will not populate on new app. Old app does not have departure times on itinerary so basically you need both apps to have some idea of what’s going on. Wouldn’t it make sense to have information like port arrival times, departure times, excursion reservation days /times and dining/ent reservations all in one place… is that not essentially what an itinerary is? Terrible usability and performanceYou can access the app while on the ship’s WiFi to load and access the features. You’d think that connecting to he shop network would enable this, but you have to start a PAID or free-at-sea option to connect to any app content. Once connected, our app continued to failed to connect and continually presented the message “you must be connected to the ships WiFi”. Meanwhile, your precious internet minutes click by. Beware this appI am on a NCL cruise when I wrote this review. I was asked to download the ncl app when I got on the ship and signed up for the “free internet.” After a couple of days, I found out that my phone connects to the ncl wifi automatically even I disable “auto connection when wifi available” and turn off WiFi function before I go to bed for my safety reason. Today, my phone called each of my relatives without I knew until I got a text to ask if I called. I had to disable my wifi calling. Then I found out the some tour reservation’s price are too good until I confirmed with the shore excursion team. What frustrating is that excursion teams told me they don’t work with IT team and IT support told me that I needed to talk to shore excursion team as he doesn’t support tour reservations. As my iPhone weird behavior, I was told it was me, not their app or the system..TXtblVersion: 1.0.12

Content fails to loadI have never been able to use this new app. Every time I try, “Woops! We couldn’t load the content. Please try again or come back later.” You try again later and same problem. The app just doesn’t work. The old app does, and it works as you’d expect an app for a cruise liner to work.
