For teenagersFor many teenagers within the age of 13-15 a lot of them don’t have their own credit card, including me. But profiting off of someone trying to quit a serious problem is selfish. It’s basically the equivalent of charging a drug addict more money than they pay for the drugs to get extensive care. You could fix this in ways that other apps, like MyFitnessPal (which is a calorie tracking app that helps with losing weight), have done. It has a free option but also a payable premium option that gives more precise insights into what’s happening with your body. The way this could be incorporated into your app is by having the basics—like the day counter and motivation—be free for everyone. Then, you could allow a paywall to unlock widgets for home screens and lock screens, which give motivation and show the progress you’ve made so far, rather than hiding the full app behind a paywall. Extremely poor customer serviceI purchased a whole year of Quittr subscription with the intention of using it to track my progress of quitting and have it act as a blocker onto my macbook. As it turns out, Quittr is not compatible for Macbook yet. I thought no matter, I could just email their customer services and request a refund because they aren’t giving the services I was looking for. I did get a reply initially but it was very lackluster. All they said was that the app is not compatible with Macbook. I sent three follow up emails to no avail. They are not transparent to their customers. If you do decide to pay for their subscription, be ready to stick, because they don’t care about refunding to you. I also tried refunding through my apple subscriptions. But it only shows my purchase of the free app, not the subscription. I can’t even ask them about why it’s not there, because it’s not like they’re going to respond.
