Exxon Mobil Rewards+ App Comments & Reviews

Exxon Mobil Rewards+ Positive Reviews

Aggravated in VAThe app is great when it works. I m going on 2 months of intermittent use. First I was only able to use it the 1st time using the Exon smart card for payment. Then it locked up the payment the next time and during my initial sign up I opted to not get a card because I did not want another card to have to carry. Well you can’t set up an online account without the actual card which turned into a nightmare which after 3 calls and over a month gone by before I got the actual smart card and now I cannot even add it as a payment. During this whole process I kept adding other card payment forms so I could keep using the app. However I continue to have issues getting it to work and it having a hold put on it twice which renders it useless. Seems that if you have a weak signal trying to use the app and keep trying to connect it basically locks you out(guessing in their terms places a hold on your account) which takes them 3 days to review. Meanwhile your filling your gas tank with no way to even tie your fill ups to your reward account to continue to earn points. And it is a hit or miss for an actual attendant in the gas stations to be of any help. I’m hoping once I am able to get my smart card added it will be a bit more reliable, but not holding my breath! Good luck with your experience!.Version: 4.16.1

Takes the car filling experience to a whole new levelLove this app! No need to even touch the screens on the pump. Keep track of receipts right there. It takes gas stations to a whole new level. The only thing I don’t get is that here on the App Store it shows support for Apple Wallet, meaning the ability to add some sort of pass to your wallet (separate the Apple Pay.) I don’t know what that could possibly be for, I don’t see an “Add to Wallet” option anywhere in the app. Anyways, I love how it automatically knows which station you’re at. It could not be simpler. I always thought that having Apple Pay + NFC at the pump would inevitably be a better but the fact that this app actually replaces the regular list of options and prompts normally found on the out dated screens on the pump takes the car filling experience to a whole new level. Just pull it out of your pocket or pull it up on your watch, select your pump number, scan for Apple Pay and you’re done. It’s that simple. I have no regrets with this service. If they ever add NFC Apple Pay to the pumps I will strongly consider continuing to use this app still. Thank you!.Version: 4.11.1

Great update miss old functionality.First off this app is great and I have almost removed my physical Exxon Card from my wallet. There are still a few stations that I have used recently that the app has failed to authorize the pump but the attendant said their new payment system does not work with Speedpass or credit cards at the diesel pumps yet, so it is not the apps fault. It has only been two weeks since I have been able to use the convenience of pay at the pump, hopefully they will get it together soon or I will start looking for another Exxon station to frequent. One short coming in my opinion is the loss of sharing purchases from within the app. I may be in the minority but it was a great convenience to be able to send my companies Human Resources admin an email with my vehicle mileage and vehicle number without having to leave the app and going to my email client and sending it from there. In conclusion I would like to share a quick story. I was able baffle the attendant at an Exxon station one day by authorizing the diesel pump with out having to go in to get it manually authorized since pay at the pump is still an anomaly at some Exxon Mobil diesel pumps. I bet he is still scratching his head..Version: 5.1

Cannot add vehicle to profileKind of annoyed at this app right now. I am trying to add my car to my profile and the page just keeps loading. The load box appears and then disappears without the drop menu coming up. I have deleted the app several times and restarted my phone to try to fix the problem nothing seems to work. I can only think this may be a problem with the edmunds site since I can’t get it to work with all these fixes. And I can’t do it online because the website seems to have been abandoned and I can’t log in even though I have no problem logging into the app. I hope this can be fixed. This app seemed to have been working perfectly and now this problem. Update: Now I managed to add my car to the account I go to use the app at a Mobil and it now doesn’t work. I get a message saying “issue with account. Call customer service.” I am done with this app. Its not working out for me and will be sticking to my old faithful GasBuddy and BPme apps instead. Will be deleting this along with my speedpass account..Version: 4.11.2

App sends you to non-Exxon Mobile stationsIn the last year or so, a few Exxon stations that used to be my regular go-to locations near airports and tunnels have closed . I’ve learned the hard way that Google Maps often lets you navigate to defunct Exxon Mobile gas stations, so a few weeks ago, I thought I’d be clever and punch in the same address into the Exxon Mobile Rewards app. After confirming the hours of operation in the app, off I went. Sadly, the integration between this app and the ‘Exxon /Mobile station location database’ seeme to have failed OR, whoever sold that gas station didn’t update the database in a timely manner, because it brought me to the same old location… except that it had been turned into a shiny new BP station. I pulled up to a pump and the app prompted me for a pump number… and then of course, promptly failed to authorize expenditure at a BP pump! Dev team: seriously, forget the points if the Station Locator can’t accurately serve up a valid Exxon/Mobile location. Run the synch more often if you can’t run the query in real-time. Or go upstream to the business to update the database as soon as a station shuts down or is sold. You can’t be sending us to your competitors!.Version: 6.5.0

Great App for paying for gasEdit: October 2023, ver. 16.1, App works great but they really need to add it to the CarPlay interface. Apple opened this functionality over a year ago with iOS 16, but so far ExxonMobil has not taken advantage of it. I downloaded this app when it came out since I have been a long-time Mobil customer. In addition to Apple Pay, I added my ExxonMobil credit card to the payment options (set it to default). I’ve used the app twice so far, once paying via the ExxonMobil card option and today using Apple Pay. Both work well. The app uses your location to determine if you are at a SpeedPass Plus station. You open the app and select your pump number. It authorizes, then you select your gas grade on the pump. After pumping, you get a notification of a receipt on your phone. And, I got the same notification on my Apple Watch! Very cool and lightning fast!.Version: 6.1.0

Why Exxon, why?I use this app a lot. In fact, it’s the main reason I use Exxon. But then, you had to go and change a perfectly good app into this. The old version was so simple, first open it, then choose the pump and authorize. Now I’m presented with this glitzy “experience” type app, which forces me it use a menu to choose the pay at pump feature. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the first time I go to use it - IT DOESN’T WORK! Now I’ve got emails saying my Apple account is locked out (which could be spam/phishing attempt, who knows). But, to top off this “incredible new experience”, the Speedpass. App is no longer available for the Apple Watch. Do you have any idea how useful/convenient that was? My sincerest hope is that this is just temporary, and that in the very near future you’ll fix this mess you’ve created. I’m updating my review because I tried the app again a couple days later and it worked. So, I’ll keep using it. I still don’t like the new apps look so I’ll only go 3 Stars. Give me back my Apple Watch app, and I’ll give it 4 stars..Version: 5.0

Very, very convenient when working.I love pulling up to pump, staying in the warm car without having to fumble with my payment method outside or keying in Plenti card, then jumping out and pumping. No longer run the risk of dropping/misplacing my credit card at the station. The app makes it convenient to track your gas purchases. Though it hasn’t happened in the past few weeks, usually the pump would not work when you squeeze after the app says authorized. Was Also getting error messages on the app. Then my Keychain Plenti card wouldn’t work at pump or inside at register and would have to call Plenti to reimburse my points. They are usually excellent when you call except once recently when the girl kept repeating that she’s crediting my points as a “one time courtesy” when the need to call in for points happens on a regular basis. On a whole based on convenience I do recommend the app..Version: 4.9

App just stopped signing inUpdate: it’s working again! Thanks for listening to the feedback. I really do love the app and it is easy to get fuel and use discounts that accrue by simply tapping the button to use points. Original review: This app used to work well, but about a month ago it began giving The error message “oops! Something happened!“ Seems like a silly and nondescript error, and it happens every time I attempt to log in using the app. Before this, the app seemed to work well and it may simply be associated with iOS 14. I’m still able to login on their website, but not the app. Before this, it was a pretty good app allowing me to occasionally get a couple of dollars off my gas as I built up points. I also like that it excepted Apple Pay through the app, minimizing the locations my credit card information is stored..Version: 5.11

BAD updateI have used this app for a very long time and it was great. After this last update, it logged me out and then would not sync my rewards card with the app login. It was on a vicious loop of logging into the app then asking for my rewards password and telling me the password was invalid. When I clicked “forgot password” it gave me a temp one and I logged into the app but again looped back to syncing with the rewards card and telling me the password was wrong. I had to literally change my email on the website to a different old email in order to be allowed to log in, and it finally took. I’m not sure why this update would make this so complicated nor why it did not sync my previous credentials in the first place. Very frustrating and honestly when this happened at the pump and I did not have my physical card, I went elsewhere..Version: 5.0.1

Speedpass & Plenti are a perfect match!I downloaded the speed pass last night, super quick and easy to set up, it synced with my applepay and I was able to add another card easily, I added my Plenti account also. I watched the video (super quick) on how to pay at the pump and apply Plenti points to my purchase. I tried it out tonight, I got to the pump, the app was open and I was recognized right away, I picked my pump # on the app and selected how many points to use towards my gas and that was it! Pumped my gas and got a receipt! I'm normally a 711 fan, but the easy use of this app and purchasing gas has made me switch to the Exxon family! Plus if you think about it, no one can take your card number, watch you put in your pin, you don't need to bring your card and no more touching the keypad (cause I'm sure everyone before you has washed their hands prior to using) ❤️❤️.Version: 4.6

Bye-bye Good Speed Pass Hello App Better...Learning my Speed Pass technology had been replaced with an App, I reluctantly added the App to my iPhone 6+. I resisted using the App believing the Speed Pass was so easy to use, why complicate purchasing gas with an App. The interface is different. But different better. I realized I can pull up to the Exxon-Mobil station I prefer, and while remaining in my vehicle, launch the App (already logged in) select the pump identified by number, select buy gas, type in PIN number, request authorization, open filler cap from inside my vehicle in advance, select grade of gas and fill up my tank. No more pressing buttons on the pump’s keypad. While I prefer receipts, I never request them. Now an email arrives promptly and is easily organized so my receipt records are readily available. Love setting up the purchase from inside my vehicle. The App works perfectly..Version: 4.11

Latest update issueI can’t get my existing information in to the new updated app. version. It tells me there is an existing account with my entry information which is correct have been using for years but does not allow me to engage the associated member into this updated version. If I try all over like first time registration then it tells me there is an existing account and associated with a membership number so how can I combine my existing membership information after login in to the new application platform. Asking for phone number and pin two times then says it is already associated with an account and does not let me combine them again to use the updated application. There is definitely something needs to be done and now whole application became useless..Version: 5.0

TAKES YOUR MONEY FOR DAYSI love the convenience of the app I swear. Not having to walk in the store to pay for gas is very nice, I love pulling to the pump and paying for my gas. What I DONT LIKE is you all will charge me 100 dollars when I’m only getting about $25 worth of gas and it takes 3-4 days for the $75 to come back in my account. That is extremely frustrating, especially heading into a recession. Please try to update the app with $20,$50, or $100 options so you won’t automatically wipe folks of all there money for a few days just because they need gas. There should be a way to pick the price you want to pump without just holding 100 before we pump. If we don’t have $100 in our account and have $75 the app will take the entire $75 when I only need $20 worth of gas and now I’m out $55 until it comes back in 3-4 days that needs to stop and it causes me to use the app less so I can save money. The irony.Version: 5.16.2

Convenient w/Apple PayI downloaded the App to give it a try because I always try to refuel my vehicle at a local Mobil station that has been remodeled, is clean, and convenient to my home or work. I didn’t love the idea of loading my credit card to the App to pay for the fuel but I do like using the Apple Pay feature to pay for fuel. I use my a credit card that credits me 5% cash back on fuel purchases so that’s a bonus. The App always works and I honestly feel that the transaction is a little safer than swiping my card at the pump. I do everything on the App right inside my car then get out and the pumps are ready to use. My wife and daughter also really like this App and use it every time. I used it on a cross country 1,400 mile drive and it worked every time at the Mobil stations..Version: 4.9

What happened to this app? This app used to function flawlessly, now it is VERY SLOW and SLUGGISH. The original selling points for the app was its ease of use AND the SPEED of use (originally called ‘SpeedPass’). Now with all the extra features this thing is REALLY SLOW when all you want to do is to get some gasoline. While purchasing gas today I couldn’t help but think that it would be faster to use the credit card. That kind of defeats the purpose of having the app! Hey ExxonMobil, you’ve ‘improved’ this so much you’re making it very clumsy and slow to use. You need to get back to the original goals of the app or people will start to abandon it and it will fail as a customer interface platform..Version: 5.15

Horrible new app, impossible to merge acvountsI'd give this app zero stars is I could because it is utterly useless to ne. I can't log in. Basically, I used the password reset, and I got an email with a temporary password. So far, so good, I entered the temporary password, and it worked to get me to a screen that said my email is associated with an Exxon Mobile Rewards account and that I needed to enter my Exxon Mobile Rewards password. If course, I don't have it. That's the reason I tried to reset my password in the first place! So I hit the "forgot password" link on the new screen. It asked me for my email, but when I entered it the app kept saying that it was an invalid email. So basically there's no way to reset my password and get back into the app. This app is more trouble than it's worth, and I'm just going to delete the app from my phone..Version: 5.0.1

When it works.I’ve had this app for about four years. It was perfect. With so much card reader tampering this was ideal. Just pull up, open the app, chose your pump, pump your gas and your done. You receive rewards points each time you pump your gas and in these trying times the reward points come handy. Receipt for gas is emailed or printed at the pump. The app keeps track of all of your points and transactions. Beautiful. Recently Exxon decided they needed to upgrade the app. Now it is terrible. Your have to sign in to the app every time you pull up to the pump. Sometimes the app doesn’t know your location or the station your at. If you don’t use the app, you don’t get any rewards points. If you can’t get into the app you have to go inside and put a deposit down for your gas. This is trash. I hope they get it fixed soon..Version: 6.1.0

New ExxonMobil App Upgrade is a Downgrade!I was not able to pay for gas using my ExxonMobil app after it was supposedly upgraded. Further, the tutorial and FAQ in the “Account” section were not helpful and the guidance provided did not work. The attendant at the service station also said many other recent customers were also having trouble using the app to pay for fuel. Lastly, the app has a button to “Contact a Specialist” for help. This button connected me to an answering robot that was unable to help me. If ExxonMobil wants to encourage use of the app for gas and in-store purchases, it’s has a long ways to go. Would have rated the app with zero stars if that were an option..Version: 6.1.0

New interface is a step backwardsThe old way of picking the pump number was a delight - it popped up and let you swipe to the number and hit a confirmation button. It’s only setting of 4 that you typically have to change during a transaction. Now to select the pump you have to click into a form field (and not the first one), which doesn’t have a distinctive focus state, so you’re not entirely sure that you’ve clicked into it, then wait for it to bring up a full alphanumeric keyboard to type in the number of the pump and then hit enter. A two-click, one-handed operation has now been turned into a multi-step, multi-click one. And this is the task that is the most important to the user..Version: 6.1.0

Upgrade removed useful featureWas a bit frustrated after the update. I was happy that after having to create a new account it did sync properly. With experience in other apps and the previous one I was not expecting this. I am frustrated the Apple Watch app was removed. It was nice to hit two things on my watch to pay for fuel. It would also be nice if touch/face is could be used instead of having to type in a pin EVERY TIME I open the app to pay. I understand the security but would be helpful to have this. The whole point of this is SPEED pass. Not slow pass where I have to hit just as many buttons on my phone as I would if I pulled out my card at the pump. Also a view of current reward status on the pay screen would be a nice addition..Version: 5.0
