I love this app it’s how I get my grandson ready for school I check the weather in 2 cities the one we live in and the one he goes to school in to properly get him ready and it’s never far off. I have relied on it for our first two years of school and I will use it to travel w/ family to various locations....I love it and it’s great and very helpful to me when I’m in school as I went back to get my degree in psychology and I was required to take a astronomy class and it helped me remember the phases of the moon each day it told me the times the sun would rise & set as well as those times for the moon it gives the moons general location if u upgrade and tap on that part of the app/tab... I’m not sure how it could be made better or if it can be made better but up til this point it has served me well and I just love it...🥰😍😘 Mstabatha57
I'm already customizing this - beautiful app and lots of fun! ***Excellent lightning info*** - so good in fact that I signed up for the discounted plan already. ***However*** I hit a roadblock at 15 locations. I hoped to be able to hop around the world with the 20 or so locations I have in "Living Earth". But in this app, I have to skip several. And this app doesn't show the local time in the handy location list, even though there's plenty of vacant real estate across the location line (on myiPad). But ***I love*** having the "Location" list so easy to reach with the button on the bottom bar. Could the location name at the top of the main page have an arrow on each side to enable us to quickly move to the next item on the list, in either direction??? Or perhaps tapping on the name, could call up our list??? And the name needs to be larger, and moved down slightly so as to avoid interfering with Apple's choices at the same high screen location. ***Beautiful app, lots of fun, tons of relevant info (even golden/blue hour!!!). It's a keeper 😍
So I put this on my Apple Watch because the built-in Weather app isn’t really working well and I gotta be honest. This is really well designed for the Apple Watch although it is missing some things like why can’t it have like a mini version of the iPad view with the background, the weather and stuff like the other stuff that is visible on the circle when you open the app on iPad or iPhone. It would be a cool detail to see a background image of the weather. if you can, you can also add a mosquito index too. Just please don’t make the features. I am just suggesting limited to premium users for all you know there might be some poor guy in Florida that only has a phone and no house who wants to know the mosquito index or mosquito levels examples probably longshot, but you never know. I would like to get a permanent subscription to support this service but that’s not an option. Please add it and some features that I’m suggesting.
Overall a clean and customizable weather app that I’ve enjoyed using for a couple months now. It does almost everything I want in a mobile weather app, with the notable exception of the radar map. I like to use radar maps to see how close rain is and check on its movement. Unfortunately, there appears to be no way to refresh the map except to force quit and restart the app, so you commonly see radar and precipitation forecasts from hours ago instead of right now. It is also very difficult to get a sense for how storms are currently evolving or moving, as the app seems obsessed with showing the radar animation over the last few hours OR the precipitation forecast for the future (which isn’t very accurate in my experience so far). What about a “right now” view that refreshes frequently with the latest radar? Hopefully improvements will be added soon as it’s the only thing that holds this app back from a perfect score.
While this app is informative and easy to comprehend, it would be helpful to have an EASY way to clear the notification to get the abnormally large number in red on the corner of the app-so far I have had no luck in discovering how to clear the numbers of the app icon. I love the information you provide, and the only other thing I could suggest was an explanation of what certain things mean. For example, there is a UV scale and there is no gram of reference for an explanation of the scale-it’s basically a number 1-12 and says 11 is high up rays and to take care when exposed but in all honesty it is just a number to me, simply because I don’t understand the scale. It would be helpful to have a bit of educational material to explain what different things mean and how they actually affect your environment. Thanks for all the work you have done on this app! I really enjoy it, I am just that big a nerd to want to actually understand all the info you provide! 😁

I’ve had weather live off and on for many years. I just grabbed it again and was offered the year deal and I jumped on it. I was ready for a change and wow although only a day in I am impressed. We are having some weather so I am getting a rich experience right now. Very well done. As I get older I use less and less on the smartphone but weather is one thing I’m still passionate? About. I love the lighting tracker. I just heard some delicious thunder and I get an alert from the tracker. I love that! Also having the hour by hour right under the daily thing is nice because I look at that more than anything. Plus the 7 day right under that, it’s just perfectly designed for how I take in the weather and that is appreciated.
This is the best designed weather I’ve found and it’s visually pleasing as well. As an example of its usefulness, yesterday we drove north to our vacation cabin. There were winter weather warnings for our destination that predicted deep snow and high winds. I was able to save the cities we’d pass through in “locations” and keep track of the weather as we drove. Every city’s forecast matched what was actually happening on the ground. We knew just when to anticipate rough weather which only became a problem toward the end of our 6 hour drive. Had we gone only by the generalised warning for our area we would have stayed home. I trusted this app and we had a stress free trip. It’s a cleverly designed app and very user friendly.
Update: Congrats on an awesome update! Love the easy to read style!! I really like your app. It’s helpful to have all the info in the circle and more details just a scroll below. I look forward to more to come. One thing that could possibly need checking on is the accuracy. I understand that even with all of our science and technology, weather reporting is a challenge. Even so I noticed that the temperature for my area is off by about 8-15 degrees. Currently my outdoor/indoor thermometer is registering 92 degrees but your app states it’s 75 degrees. I wish it was 75 degrees as that is a lot more bearable temperature. Other weather apps state around 85-87 currently for my area. When looking at your app, I usually focus on the real feel temp as that is closer.
Really like this app, it gives you a huge amount of info in a great layout. Love the hurricane tracker. Would be nice to: -be able to swipe thru the mini parameters, they change a little slowly. -be able to rearrange the components on the main page to your needs. -*would really be nice to be able to change the alert tone or volume or specify exactly what it's for. The current one is crazy and loud and startles me every time, especially when I have headphones on. I don't need to jump out of my skin for minor/freeze warnings! I know this is a free app but the ads are very distracting. I especially like the one that fools you into thinking it's part of this app and you have an urgent message. Then it opens your browser and takes forever to back track and get out of it. What a PITA, I pay more attention now! I usually find it reasonably accurate. However I did have one instance when it was calling for lite rain to start at 3pm. I was moving in an open truck and depending on that info. My plans were totally boogered when it was pouring at noon. We were half way there and had to turn 2 vehicles around and go back home. Was not happy. Good job overall though!
This is an excellent weather app, it’s so excellent in fact that I had just decided to purchase the full version and rid myself of pesky ads, then unfortunately I realized there isn’t an option to purchase the full version, but rather one has to subscribe to the app and pay MONTHLY! I’m not sure what brand of crack the developers are smoking but it must be a good one if they think people are going to pay more monthly for a weather app than apple music costs. I’m deleting the free version now just on principle. I’d rather step outside and look up than pay these people. PS: I put five stars so this would actually be read. And it actually would be five stars if not for the subscription service. In reality its 0 stars.
I have tried almost every weather app available for iPhone and this app is the only one that consistently reports accurate current weather conditions for my location. Obviously it is hard to trust an app to give you the forecast for the week if the current weather isn’t even correct (or if the meteorologist is a kitten.. yes there actually is such an app). Do not waste your time or money downloading any other weather app- unless you love looking at cute kittens and don’t really care about the weather. This one has every feature you need, is user friendly, doesn’t give you a headache if you look at it too long and most importantly... is ACCURATE!
I’m back to report I have been using this app again. Below is an issue I had. But it seemed when I went to find other apps that I could use for the weather. This is the best one. Also the other weather apps were having the same issue with air quality reporting as well. I have used this app for many years and it is THE BEST! I have used this app for almost a year now. I like it cause it’s very detailed. I pay for the premium. I have just compared the air quality report to other apps and it’s doesn’t work. I have asthma. It’s not worth paying for. When I can get the same info correctly for free on other apps.
First let’s get this out of the way.... the App is good very nice app. There are hundreds of nice weather apps. But yours I like because of the graphics. That said, the pricing is usually laid out in the description and unless I missed it I did not see any pricing. So I come to” in app purchases”... it gives a list of maybe a half dozen options but all with the same name, not to mention it does not state if they are monthly pricing which if they are your too high and if they are one time purchase it should say either way . If I have to look this hard for pricing it’s usually too much. Or I stop looking and don’t get the app... you should fix that all of the things I stated here and sales will surely go up.
I’m an Airline Pilot, & I FLY my own single engine, 2 seat ༚ Tecnam ASTORE Airplane. The “Weather Live” App is PERFECT for everyday weather info & basic event & trip planning, up to a weeks weather forecast. I Especially like the “Weather Live” Apps Personalization Display Options. Enabling personalization so it’s easier to see, read & interpolate the weather information. This app isn’t meant for, instead of, or to replace proper Pilot Weather Flight Planning. Pilots should always use F.A.A. approved Aviation Weather Sources, Websites, & or Apps. HOWEVER, the “Weather Live” App is Undoubtably among the Best weather reference apps available. Plus, the Weather Live App is Unquestionably My Favorite “Day to Day” use Weather App Available❗️ Its so Good, I’ll be getting the Pro Version of the “Weather Live” App Soon❗️ The “Weather Live” App is A Definite * * * * * 5 Stars Great App❗️ Thanks. This is a great weather app for me. If the weather is wrong, you can send an update and the weather will change for you. And, the weather is always accurate! I’ve tried many weather apps, but I have never found one as great as this one. But, there is a few errors. First of all, the wind speed is never even close. Second of all, there is so many pop-up ads. I would just like to enjoy checking my weather without and annoying ads. If you put aside all that, this app is still informative and easy to use. I recommend you getting this app if you can handle all the ads and incorrect wind speed. Other than that, this app is a great app.
First of all, I wanted to report (the title above) to tech support. When I clicked on the app in the App Store I clicked in the question mark w a circle around it. It take you to basically a huge intro. A fancy ad. I clicked on another link that also looked like it might have tech support. It did not. The link “forinfo.*icantremember* was in tiny tiny font on the very bottom and it was not clickable. In addition the voice to text doesn’t work. The ball spun around for a second or two then disappeared. It may be my phone but I tried it five times. Do I really need to spend 10 minutes of my life to contact tech-support so that I don’t get a pop-up ad every time I try to use one of their features? NO! They get one star because the app is really annoying that especially I could find a way to get to tech support. The app is unusable because of the pop-up ads and maybe it is on the app I wouldn’t have a clue at this point. I am pretty much going to delete it.
Many, many good things in this app. The hurricane watch must be great for those in those areas. I live in Colorado, though. I’d like to see storm warnings for hail and info for winter weather. It would be nice to track winter storms as they build and watch their approach, with info about anticipated snow depth. There may already be something for this. I haven’t done much exploring yet because I just signed up and it’s summer right now. Maybe I will discover this when winter comes. Right now, it’s a beautiful day, just like the app says. Will edit this if I need to but, so far, I’m pleased with my purchase. I really like the sunrise/sunset and moon info and graphics. Well done.
...the weather is Completely off by at least 10 degrees every single day! It’s 100 degrees in Chicago right now with a heat index of 107 degrees and this app says its 92 with a “wind chill” of 84 degrees. Also, who would pay the exorbitant Premium Price, ANNUALLY, for a ‘Weather app’ other then weather buffs. Even then, there are Pro versions of weather apps that only change a flat Premium fee of $2-5, then you’re set for life. Fix all this if you want to keep regular customers. Question: did anyone upgrade to the Premium version when it WAS $4.99 for life? And if so, did this company go back on that deal and is now trying to charge you with their idiotic ‘Yearly’ fee?
But what’s up with the temperature being off 10 degrees lower than what it actually is? April 9, at 11:16 PM. You claim it’s 67 degrees Fahrenheit when it’s actually 77°F! However other then that I screw up tonight it seems to be right on! I highly suggest this app to everyone for it so simple to read plus it has everything you want including wind speed and direction which I love the most that I can’t understand why you cheapskate can’t pay for the updated version which is a few pennies out of your pocket each day for a year then it’s completely free from then on SOLVING the problems of your most irritating problems with ADS!!! Get real cheap skates!
Just downloaded the app- the interactive picturesque display is a smart way to breathe new life into the world of boring weather apps. The weather forecasts & predictions have been spot on so far. The only complaint I have are the annoying middle-of-the-screen pop-up ads that are really beginning to ruin the experience of this app for me. No way will I subscribe to this app just to get rid of the ads. The ads might be what causes me to get rid of this app. On average, 2 pop-ups a minute is a bit much. IMO, it's the virus that destroys the contagious, user-friendly immerse experience that the developers innovated for this app. Except for the ads, it's 5 stars for the non-subscription edition and highly recommend!!!
I like the look, the layout. There aren’t too many apps with humidity and dew point which also drew me to it. As far as not having an interactive radar, I have an app for that (free). Would be nice too be included here as well. I’m in my fifties and don’t sit on my phone each day going through all the latest updates and apps. Once I have something I like, I’ll stick with it. Just no time. I can deal with the ads, as I know this helps your funding. The only real issue I’ve seen is the delay in updating my location. I’ll get reports from my last location yesterday sometimes. Not sure if it’s the app’s issue or service provider.
So I crack up cause I get so agitated when I read “it’s freezing” message. I thought y’all meant it’s cold outside. I’m like duh I know. Now I get it you mean it’s where things can freeze like water and stuff. Maybe change it to “It’s below Freezing Temperatures starting now” :))) please. Cause seriously I’ve read this for like months and I just now figured out what you meant lol and I have a college degree and went to PayPal Presidents club lol (I do feel a tad stupid lol). I’m only 42 BTW. Great alert just clearer message as I’m sure there’s many other idiots out there like me:)))) Proud Vegan TomGurl, Jill Broske TomGurl BullsEye:))
Comprehensive and complete. So far so good. Thx!
Can we add a hows the wind Q&A? The fact that we need to update you sometimes has me wondering if I should buy back in. I do like the app but google and otherwise can do the same. Remember when the meteorologist said wind is coming up (jet stream). Well us truckers run that her stream and pay for up to date weather. Please add even minor wind notification.
Quite like this ap. The weather is fairly consistent with the predictions. After all even when the weather predicts 70% chance of a nice day it leaves the unstated prediction of 30% not nice. Overall it's the best ap for weather I've seen.
Nice display with time and temperatures. Like the following day as well. I enjoy it.
Weather Live° - Local Forecast Negative Reviews and Ratings
The app looked nice until it started asking me every 30 to buy the premium version. I ended up deleting it because it was so irritating. Whatever positive features the app may have are negated by the constant pop ups asking me to buy the premium version. Shame on the App Store “editors” for recommending the app. It’s very clear to me that the editor suggestion was purchased by the app maker. And to be clear, I have no problem paying for good content, but I couldn’t even gage the value of this app because of the constant pop ups. Steer clear! UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: I received an (unsolicited) developer response to my review of this app telling me I could try the paid version via paid trial or just close the pop up with the “x” button. Seriously?! They didn’t bother even reading my review I guess? Their pop up asking you to buy the app popped up every 20-30 seconds, and then you have to wait 10-15 seconds for that “x” to show up. One time seeing this, I understand, the developers need to make money, but every 20-30 seconds, it makes the app unusable, even to test to see if you may be willing to buy it. And the day I downloaded it, I did so because it was the “editors choice” that day, which is garbage. The only reason this app would have been suggested by editors is because the app paid a premium advertising fee, which really neglects the whole point of an editors choice, which IMHO, should be to recommend quality apps, not this garbage! So to the developer, keep your response, I don’t care, I prefer quality apps, not this trash!
I deleted this app a few years back after having it for several years because it crashed completely. I kept hoping it would get back to functional but after six months I gave up. I just recently saw that it was available in the App Store and I immediately deleted the replacement weather and ought a subscription. It’s already glitching again and I am thinking I made a mistake. I can’t afford to pay for two different plans so I’d like to see this one working right ASAP. I don’t know how else to contact you people and when I tried to connect this way a few days ago your system kept indicating every user ID I tried was already taken. I found that suspect but I am trying again anyway. Wow, now even this isn’t really working. It’s a beautiful app but I NEED A RELIABLE, FUNCTIONING WEATHER APP. It is now a full week since I last attempted to contact you people and your app isn’t working at all. I guess Apalon just isn’t a top rated organization and you don’t know what you’re doing. I really hope you you can get it together. I will investigate other avenues of communication as well as warn everyone I can that signing up for your service is perhaps a risk of security and possibly a scam at worst or a poor investment at best. I am very disappointed and sorry I let go of the premium service I had with another weather app.
The app works fairly well for my area. Being extremely rural, most other weather apps don’t have my location. Closest is the airport 20 miles away. This app properly gives me my weather- not the weather 20 miles away. I wish it had options to submit the 84 mph winds and tornado we experienced tonight. It was devastating. Worse yet— NO WEATHER SERVICE WARNED OR REGISTERED WE WERE EXPECTING/HAVING A STORM! Unfortunately, my only choice to submit a report was thunderstorm. I selected and submitted it. Sadly, nothing was reported until 8 minutes after the tornado. At this time, 34 minutes into the high winds, tornado, hail, and much devastation, the National Weather Services began warning of a storm coming. This app never picked up the storm at all. Most of Wyoming, in my area, was red on the Doppler Radar, per a family member I called. With our power/Internet knocked out for hours.. I relied on a family member checking our weather on here and reporting. Unfortunately, with the power lines down, our home in a massive need of repair, we were trying to report so that the next town over knew it was coming. Blowing in that fast— the whole town was hit without anyone picking it up— I mean it was obviously happening, but we couldn’t even submit anything more than a thunderstorm. Thunderstorm didn’t even remotely describe it, but at least thunderstorm might give people some ideas to get somewhere out of the elements. We are used to keeping watch, but this monster was literally on us without warning. It was supposed to stay almost 200 miles from us. Blue skies to black in an instant.
I love the way the app looks. It also looks nice on the Apple Watch. However,I am really frustrated. I am switching weather apps from dark sky since it will not be supported next year. I purchased the premium weather live since it look like the most promising app compared to dark sky. We had severe weather last night and weather live did not notify me as it was supposed to. I double checked all of my settings and then tons of research to see if I had made a mistake but everything seems to be set up correctly. The wife runs dark sky on her phone still and we were getting constant weather updates from dark sky. The basic stuff on the weather live app he’s really nice and I like it more than dark sky. However, whether live app does not doesn’t even compare to the notifications that dark sky has and also the accuracy. We rely heavily on weather apps since we ride motorcycles everywhere and dark sky has been a wonderful app to let us know of upcoming weather changes. Since switching to weather live it doesn’t even compare. I hope that this will be improved since I’ve purchased the yearly plan but if it continues not giving correct updated weather I’m going to have to move on to something different.
When you look at the future weather it might just show up as rain. For example - sat- rain. With a cloud and rain for the picture. Yet in reality there are only a couple chances in the morning before you even wake up like 3:am that is gunna rain and makes it sound like it’s gunna rain all day. and than it tells you hourly it’s gunna be sunny but when you see the icon for the hole day it says rain. It makes you think the whole day it will rain but reality there are a couple chances and most of the day it will say sunny out with no clouds. So fix it. Maybe put a sun with a cloud and a rain drop and say early showers or something. Mine says rain Saturday, literally two chances early morning then sunny. Be smart and say Saturday will be sunny. Not hard what’s most likely to happen that day and put it as the icon. I’m a farmer and rely on the weather so when I need rain and it looks like it gunna rain all day and In reality it’s a small chance before I even get up is crap. If it’s gunna rain that day show it but if it’s gunna be sunny show it to. Don’t give me information from the small chances of rain and make it look like it’s gunna rain all day. . Rant over
I down loaded this app to my IPhone 14 Pro Max. The app seemed very intuitive and loaded with a lot of useful info. So I purchased a whole year subscription. I’m sorry I wasted my money. This app is supposed to track your location and give you weather updates for where ever you are located. That my problem. This app is pushing weather updates to me for areas I’m not in. Areas I’ve never been too. Where the heck is Otterbein? It keeps pushing out updates to me for Otterbein and for other areas. I live in Los Angeles. Then I will look to see what’s stored in the app as favorite locations. Sure enough, they're saved my favorite locations, including Otterbein, and Glendale. I never saved these locations. I delete them and a little while later, I get updates for those deleted locations, and sure enough, these locations are back in my favorite saved locations. Who keeps putting those locations in the favorites of this app. Also, the lightning strike alert is not working. I have another FREE app that is just for lightning strike alerts. I have this feee app set to alert to strikes within a 30 mile a radious. This paid app is also set to the same radious. The free app alerted me to 3 lightning strikes today. This paid app didn’t show any strikes. I sent an email to this app’s technical support. Explaining to them everything I had already tried to make this location tracking work. They answered me, telling me to try what I had already told them I tried. Did they read my email? I emailed them back, telling them I had already tried what they said. What do we try next? I never heard back from them, it’s been a few days. Maybe someone from this app will read my review and try and do something about this.
I’ve loved this app and used it faithfully and daily for awhile. Even earlier today, it helped. Now, every time I open this app, it crashes. When I went to the Apple store to check for an update, it was suggested to be downloaded from the cloud. Odd! I started the download abs checked on it later. Upon opening the “new” app, it, too, crashed immediately. I hope y’all fix this issue quickly! Thank you. Update: Thank you for responding. I had already discovered the app was up again. I see you’ve made major changes to the app in its downtime. You added more ads, made it more like another weather app/channel I no longer use for this reason- you seem more interested in money than in getting out weather updates. Every time I open the app, I get an invitation to Premium BEFORE I can see my weather! Which do you think is more important? An impending storm or you making money. Come on! Be a good app and go back to being beautiful and efficient! You were far more appreciated back then ... 2 days ago. Unimpressed by the newest update. Taking your 4 stars down to 3. :(
This is just a good looking app, but that’s all about it if you don’t pay subscription. ‘Hourly forecast’ is every 3 hours forecast only, it’s not hourly! No radar! No precipitation forecast! No satellite, no map! No daily and hourly temperature graph! Pretty much nothing, except current conditions and a forecast of every 3 hours conditions over a few days! Oh, but it has photography and sea temperatures and tides, which I don’t care about because I don’t leave on the coast; Oh, and it also has nagging subscribe full screen windows every time you press the screen, all for free you guys, if you’re interested!! I still have their many years old app (from 2015), which isn’t that “pretty”, but it has almost everything mentioned above, plus a 70 hour precipitation forecast map, all for free! Disappointing! I’d definitely not pay them for these services, since there are quite a lot of very popular apps out there offering accurate and much more detail for free - AccuWeather, The Weather Channel, Weather Mate, My Radar, to name a few of my favorites. Even Apple Weather app has all you need.
This app could be great if it were not for the annoying pop up ads. I realize the app is free, and ads are what support the free version of the app. However, when you are trying to look at the weather and the screen changes over to an ad that you have to wait for a few seconds before closing, it gets frustrating. Sometimes those ads open up my internet browser and tell me viruses were detected. While I understand the ads cannot be removed in the free version, it would be better if they were within the weather app itself, like at the bottom of the screen or something. The only other thing that could make this app better was if they provided an hour by hour forecast instead of three hours. Where I live the weather changes constantly hour by hour especially in the winter. I drive a bus and it would be nice to know what to expect throughout my shift instead of trying to guess based off of a three hour increment.
I love the look and feel of this app but I’ve found that I can’t rely on it for accurately reporting temperatures. It’s a real disappointment. Update: the response indicated they’d like to correct this (temps being off 8-9 degrees at times) but when I attempted to follow up they directed me to “report weather” which honestly doesn’t do much of anything for correcting temps off that much. It’s super unfortunate. If it’s accurate for you then awesome but make sure you are using something to double check. I’d your temp says 46 and it’s actually 38 or 38... that’s a pretty significant fail. Update: I let my paid version lapse due to the inaccuracies. The free version is basically unusable due to the extreme number of ads and subscription update requests. It’s such a nice app and worked well for so long. I wanted to give it a chance and see if the issues were resolved. But it’s just not worth the effort as a free app and I refuse to pay for a weather app that can’t get even the temperatures right. So many others do. Very disappointed.
I’ve tried many weather apps. Whenever I find one I like it seems the next update messes it up and I have to go looking again. I decked to try this one. I live in Michigan on on one of the Great Lakes. Our backyard actually backs up to the lake. Wind speed and direction information is very important. I need to know the current data as well as an accurate forecast because our backyard can flood and we often need to put up extensions on our sea wall to minimize the flooding. The past 24 hours our wind speed has been from 14 to 18 mph from the NE (got the correct info from another source)which can put massive amounts of water over our wall if we don’t have the extensions on top. The app has given me info that the wind is 2 to 3 mph the entire time of this weather event despite (and this is a good thing) giving me an emergency warning notice for shoreline flooding. The developers need to fix the wind speed glitch, and it would be much more dependable and useful for me.
There’s a lot to like about this app—the paid version—like the animated radar map, the extended forecast, and the beautiful backgrounds. But I have three major issues: First, it always sets my location for a nonexistent city, Belleview, TN. I have no idea where it thinks I am. Second, the 14-day temp projection doesn’t match the hour-by hour projection. For example, the daily projection might show a high of 37 on a given day, but the hour-by-hour shows temps reaching 42 on that day. Also, it would help if that long 14-day scroll had the date more obviously attached to each hour; it can be confusing to pinpoint exactly what date you’re looking at. Finally, the third and most serious issue: The app simply isn’t accurate. At this moment, the daily current conditions says my area is experiencing light rain, and the radar map shows medium to hard rain over the entire area. In fact, it is sunny/partly cloudy with no rain in sight. Every other weather app’ radar is completely different from Weather Live’s.
If not for the annoying ads and pop-ups, I’d of rated this weather application higher. But to get rid of those annoyances, this App expects to charge you $9.99 per year. While that’s certainly not expensive, ultimately its still JUST A WEATHER APPLICATION, NOTHING MORE. There’s plenty of weather apps are readily available online for free, WITHOUT any of the annoying ads contained herein. So unless you’re just dying to part with $9.99 a year for nothing gained, I suggest that you download one of the many totally FREE weather applications and donate that $9.99 to a charity of your choice, as they’ll probably make better use of that money than supporting another overly rich shmuck. Obviously I’ll be deleting this application, as there’s others that are considerably better that are completely free. And yes, I’ve already been donating money saved from finding outstanding FREE applications vice paying for services that are equally as good for free.
I paid for this app a while back and went to download it on a different device but when I did I got endlessly hassled to subscribe and constantly bombarded with ads. Since I previously paid for Weather Live I tried to restore purchases, ya know like every other app that goes to a subscription grandfathers in those that paid, not here. What they did was really really crappy they discontinued the old app for the exact same app now charge for it yearly regardless if the consumer already paid for it. I don't know if this is illegal it's certainly greedy and immoral. I would advise any reading this to avoid apalon apps going forward. I'm really disappointed in this company. I am aware that I can download the old version of the app that is no longer supported and hasn't been updated in quite some time. Why don't you reinstate the paid version and just push out identical updates at the same time? There are tons of apps that have free versions with iap's and paid versions on the same release number.
This app is great. I like it much more than all of the other weather apps and I believe it is much more accurate. It also recognizes cities that other apps did not. I also LOVE that there is a setting that shows the current temperature of where you are in the upper right hand corner of the apps icon (just like if you had 5 unread texts or voicemails, etc.). That said, two bummers. First, there are SO many pop-ups and advertising that is actually becomes annoying. Second, as an iPhone owner, I use the Widget page a lot. (Swipe left from your first "page" of apps). On the Widget page, you can only view the temperature in two hour increments, rather than hourly. It is not the end of the world, but it is a bummer. I am hoping that the developers will fix the Widget setting, as I use that the most and have no intentions of BUYING an app about Weather!
This app goes above & beyond in visual representation of data. Which in & of itself is quite an accomplishment. Especially when you consider this is (or should be) the same data every other wether app is reporting. By providing multiple layout options, customizable features, & an outstanding widget; this app definitely sets itself apart from the ever expanding weather apps group. That being said, I am disappointed with the interactive radar being restricted, available only with a premium subscription. Considering that’s a key component for myself, it’s doubtful I will keep the app. Personally, while I do greatly enjoy other points, they don’t carry enough weight to justify me paying for a subscription. Hopefully the designers will roll out something in the future which will fulfill my “must haves” AND maintain the outstanding visual appeal 🤞🏻
Like many other users, I paid for the app a few years ago and now we are all being forced to choose either the free app with ads or a new, subscription-based paid service. I understand that the developers wish to profit from their hard work, but simply disregarding current customers by disabling a previously paid-for version without any notice or warning not acceptable. Most reputable software developers don’t disable paid-for previous versions of an app when a new version is introduced, they just offer a new version to those who may wish to upgrade and leave the previous version available and working for those that don’t wish to do so. I’d like the developers to respond to at least one of the previous customers who have this same complaint, since they have so far ignored all of these customers while responding to other users with different complaints.
Editing this review to point out that many apps seem to be using this bait-and-switch model. I did like the app, and this developer is only following the standard practice. Still not happy about it, but I have no complaints with the app itself. ====original review==== They essentially trick you into a premium subscription that starts automatically in 3 days unless you 1) start reading the fine print and realize they intend to charge your account and 2) can figure out how to cancel in time. It’s a bit complicated, not at all intuitive — Apple is at fault for making it complicated but this developer exploits that. I actually like the app and the forecast was accurate for my area. I’d have considered the premium subscription IF they were up front and very clear about the pricing options, and offered a trial that is truly “free”. But the deceptive bait and switch, even if commonly accepted as standard practice among app developers, is a big turn off.
This app helps in a lot of ways like figuring out on if you should wear pants or shorts that day or if you need an umbrella. But there are so many ads in the app and the only way to get rid of them is to pay money. I go into the app then click on the map, I’m looking around on it and there’s an ad that pops up and blocks the screen, it’s an ad to get premium. That’s okay, I wait about 5 seconds until the x comes up in the corner, I click it and keep looking around on the map. 5 seconds later the same thing happens and it keeps doing that. Also, there’s always a little advertisement on the bottom to get something it’s kind of hard to explain but it’s so annoying. After the premium ad kept popping up, I decided to write this review and delete the app. I’m sure if you’re willing to pay it’d be much better.
First of all setting it up was frustrating. At first I thought I had to pay. It gave me 2 options. A free 3 day trial at like 3.99 a WEEK after that or X amount per year or something. I didn’t realize there was an option to have a free version at first. But there is a box to click the x to get out of that screen. Don’t get hooked into paying for weather apps. It’s crazy! The app my phone came with has no ads. I just was looking for something a little different. Second of all this app has way too much on the main screen. Scroll and scroll and it’s just a mess. I do like the buttons on the section that shows temp/rain/wind. That was nice. But in the tools area it shows units of how stuff is read and one of them is pressure. That’s important to me because I get severe migraine due to pressure changes. So having a heads up is nice but I don’t see anywhere on the main page where it actually SHOWS pressure. Again, it might be there somewhere but it’s just too cluttery. I won’t keep this app. The main info I was looking for (pressure) isn’t even there. Oh..and ads... plenty of weather apps with out pop up ads. I can handle little ads at the bottom or top of the screen but ones I have to watch?.. no way.
I’ve had this app for years and always loved it. It always at a current location where it would tell me the weather wherever I’m at without me having to do anything. Current location always showed at the top of the list of areas I had listed and I kept it there and it changed as I moved around. It no longer shows at the top of my list and nowhere in settings does it allow it to be added. Now the only way to get weather in current location is to actually go in and select use current location and then that area is added to your list of selected areas. You are limited to how many can be listed so always deleting the top one to allow for searching local area when traveling. Bring back the option to have it listed all the time and I will rethink renewing subscription when it’s expired.
So, I want to give you more stars, but despite being the BEST single app out of a horde of terrible ones, you guys need to improve, please. What’s missing to make it to 4 stars: * Please stop making “rain map” a default, or let us change that in the settings. It’s nonsense. Radar should be the default, since it’s far more accurate and informative. * Make the animated radar loop an OPTION, not the default. I don’t care what the radar looked like several hours ago, when I’m just checking current conditions. Also, in areas where signal is bad, that loop takes fooorrrrrevvvvvverrrrr, or won’t load at all. Let your users choose the data sucking option only if we really want it. If you want to bump that to 5 stars: * Expand layers to have storm track cones and fronts - you know, like the old Storm app did so well before it went straight to hell by becoming the pathetic Storm Radar. I usually hate apps that are full of ads unless you pay to remove them. But in your case, because you really do have the one decent app in the bunch, it’s forgiveable, and I paid it. I’d just be happier paying for a version with the fixes I described.
I liked the look of the app but TOO much maintenance required to use the app. I travel a lot and at every location I have to manually update my location. I don’t need to get alerts about the weather in Florida when I’m in New York. Even with all the location settings on still no auto location update. Another issue that follows with that is that it always want me to verify the weather of a location i was previously located and never my current location unless again I manually update my location. With that being said, if I have too many locations than I have to delete previous locations to get my current location and it saves them by default. Because of that you to remember to delete locations to get your current location. Waste of money. If you don’t mind the maintenance of the app get the free version of it.
I understand with the free version ads are necessary. But the volume and sheer overwhelming nature they appear is not appealing at all. I feel they greatly took away from the functionality of the app. They are very pushy and forced making me just close the app sometimes due to frustration of frequency. They launch your browser and take forever to dismiss, banner at the bottom and maybe midway down the page that were not pop-ups would make the ease of use and flow of the app feel more organic. Secondly and maybe more importantly that with so many free apps out there, the weekly fee of $1.99 is just flat out too much!! On that alone I wouldn’t and couldn’t recommend this app to friends. I hope you take the time to consider reformatting the ad display. And maybe adjust the price to appeal to a wider market. Thank you for your time.
I have been looking for a new weather app ever since Apple pulled the plug on Dark Sky. I had high hopes for Weather Live. I like the layout of the information but have been frustrated with the reliability of the info provided. After buying my subscription I noticed the temps reported were always different than other apps and my own weather instruments. I have found myself going to other sources to confirm the info and if that’s the process what good is it? I live in North Florida so I check the temp and the heat index frequently… every morning I see temps that are higher but close to the actual temp but what excites me is the heat index of 32° which has been listed every morning. Not sure about the accuracy of that.
I LOVE this app, hands down the best weather app there is. Though, I had purchased this app YEARS ago, I mean years. I had been a loyal user of this app for soooo long, I had purchased it when iTunes gift cards were still popular presents. I’d know because I bought this app once we didn’t have to buy music anymore and had used it for many many years until I had gotten a new device - same account & suddenly I no longer was given the same access….? I was sad and upset because it’s my FAVORITE and only weather app I use and trust but now a sub. Is $6 a WEEK? It’s just outrageous to me & I wish I would’ve never gotten a new phone. Just so sad I no longer will get to use a app I’ve used for easily over 10 years all due to a phone change :( rip good weather :(
Nice layout but obnoxious in free version due to pop ups and had a fatal flaw in how the chance of rain is reported that will leave you trapped in the rain without an umbrella. For example, today’s forecast says 10% chance of rain overall but when broken down by periods of the day it’s as high as 50%. FYI to developers the maximum chance that users will see rain that day is equal the max chance it will rain at any point in the day. No wonder I’ve repeatedly gotten caught in the rain because I’ve looked in the morning and thought it wouldn’t rain because this app says the chance of rain for the day is ZERO. Right now 6:27 PM in Manhattan on Oct 23 your widget says chance of rain zero pct on the collapsed screen. It’s raining and when expanded you widget says chance of rain 40% at 7:00 PM.
Looks great, wonderful layout - and it might even give you an accurate forecast of cloud cover. Of course in the same way a frog could tell you, or scryer stones, or maybe the arrangement of lines on the back of my paternal grandmother’s hand. Really all of these methods would give approximately the same accuracy in results. I just spent more in gas to go look at clouds instead of stars than the premium version of this app cost. All for a pretty app that is just wildly dull when it comes to getting it right. Save your $20, for a mere whatever you feel like donating I’ll tell you what I think the weather will be BUT I’ll also tell you how good you look in that shirt. Sure it’s just a plain shirt but it fits you just right. See? Feels good. Feels a lot better than stargazing at nothing on a “clear” night. Bless this app’s heart I’m more angry than I should be. Furious even. Stayed up late, watch the cloud forecast go to completely clear - nothing at all. Got excited, caffeinated, grabbed my photography gear and drove an hour outside of town so the city lights wouldn’t drown out the NOTHING AT ALL BECAUSE THE ONLY THING IN THE SKY WAS CLOUDS. AGAIN. Well, fool me once - shame on you. Fool me twice, I write a review.
We had a thunderstorm last night. The app showed sunny skies and zero rain. This morning it is overcast. The app still shows sunny skies. If it cannot get this part right what are the chances of other data being accurate? Canada.
Too much advertising!!
This weather network is not accurate at all!!! It was a low of 20 degrees that day and this app said it was a low of 2 degrees. Big difference !
Belle application mais développeur assoiffé d'argent. Publicité bien trop abondante et agressive et trop cher pour une simple application météo.
No coverage in Canada.
Why would anyone download this nonsense and potentially pay for it? What is wrong with people?
But being forced to get a subscription JUST to see if it will help me???!!!!! Sorry! Not happening.
There are so many ads that using this app is frustrating. Downloaded it an less than two minutes later I deleted it.
Every time you go to use it the app tries to force a subscription down your throat…there a better weather apps for free.
I bought this back in 2017 and i still have to pay for pro?
I’ve used this app for years with zero problems, until today. When I click on the app, it comes up for a few seconds (enough to see what the temperature is) then it crashes.
Wasn’t that happy with the accuracy at $14 so cancelled immediately once they increased it to $80 with no added features or functionality
I had 10 and over degrees discrepancy between app and actual weather.
Don't buy this app the worst forecasts ever not even close to the conditions in the area If I could get a refund I would
All those price fouger who want subscription rather than simply selling an app arw too greedy.
How about trying to be more accurate. Your weather prediction are more often incorrect than not. Makes your app useless.
Couldnt try it without constant pop ups trying to gete in a sibscription
The weather app is okay if you have the free version. Premium upgrade is not worth it. Accuweather is better.
Incessant ads
Like the presentation, probably the capabilities, although I felt I couldn’t get to them because of the advertising. Prefer the environment and climate change Canada app
This is not a free app. You have to agree to a subscription to use it.
Je me suis fait avoir car je ne veux pas payer pour ça
Snowing heavily and the forecast just overcast. Lately really getting it wrong more than right.
Siking bad
I’ve had the app 5 min and I’m already getting bombarded with upgrade offers !!!!
Downloaded your Weather Live app and it has installed itself at the top of the control centre screen. Uninstall/Deleted the app and Weather Live location app remains. Does this mean you continue to collect location information from users even with the app “deleted”???
Beim I fon 7 habe ich eine 1 mal Zahlung getan wird dieses auch auf I fon 11 Uebertragen ich hoffe es , Vielen Dank.
So many ads I and forced subscription messages in the first few minutes of using the program. It’s a bit ridiculous. How about backing off for a day or two so you don’t seem so desperate for revenue and let the user actually experience the app? Developer’s response makes it clear they don’t get it.
Why is 32 considered a heat warning in August , seems a bit odd. That what temp it has been for 50 years.
Anything you select come with ads. So annoying
It is so unaccurate there’s a thunderstorm and it gives cloudy skies
This app only shows rain. If there is a chance of rain in one 24 hour period the app shows rain. Instead if showing sun which will happen most of the day. Depressing and inaccurate. Deleting now.
지금 날씨는 좋고 파란하늘인데 날씨 앱에는 구름이라고 되있음.
Anytime you open it there’s a 10 second ad. If they were just banners it would be fine, but it forces you to sit through it before you can access the app.
This app appears to be more interested in money than beauty. it is loaded with ads. the subscription fees are quite high. the built in iOS 15 Weather App is a much better choice with no ads or fees.
The App Store page seems to suggest that the app is free to use. But that is not the case. You can download it without payment but once you open it are required to subscribe. 3 day trial leads into automatic subscription unless you cancel. Can’t try it out without signing up for a subscription.
Ps. Update your app icon
I installed the app to try it out and am not happy to see that you have to sign up for the free trial with automatic payments in order to even evaluate the app. I don’t like games where developers are hoping that you forget to cancel the trial in three days so that they make money off you
I received an email notifying me that I have accepted (?) A 3-days trial subscription to this app but I simply app do not want it. How can I unsubscribe before the 3 days expire to avoid being automatically charged with a 1-week subscription?
Pure crap!! Money grabbers! Soooo inaccurate!!!
Just don’t even bother. Way better options out there that cost less than this app.
I’m testing 4 weather apps right now including this one to see which is best and so far this one has a MAJOR FLAW!!! The 3 others are reporting a humidex of almost 10 degrees more for the last 4 days and this app is reporting that there is none. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!
I paid for the full version and it hasn’t shown the correct weather once. Shows full sunshine when it’s actually overcast and foggy. Tried changing preferences and still doesn’t show correct weather.
You must be kidding me
Keep asking me to buy Pro and I don’t want to
I’ve had this app for a long time now (over 5 years) & the accuracy has gone completely downhill. For example, my forecast says it’s currently overcast with zero precipitation yet for the last hour (literally) it has been pouring rain with thunder & lightning. The “upgrades” to this app have been really disappointing. It’s a shame because I used to love the Weather Live app.
