99% Perfect Notes AppHave used upword notes for a few years now (bought IAP once, totally worth it). I recently tried a bunch of other apps, none of which hold a candle (in my eyes) with upword. Not all of them are bad, but this one has all the right features for ME and works as intended. The only thing it’s missing is the ability to save a note offline (local to the device). I love in a semi-dead cell area, so when I’m without coverage I can’t access my notes. Unfortunately, most apps don’t offer this function. DropBox does, so the work around is to find the note in DB and save it offline from there. I can then view the note from DB when offline, but can’t edit it. I wish upword would add a way of saving notes offline and allowing us to edit those notes while offline. The only 5 star rating I've ever givenI am extremely detail oriented and need to have control over everything to feel organized. From the font, to the size, to bolding/italicizing and bullet or number lists, color coding and folders, headings and so on... And I all but gave up finding an app that gave me all of that. No lie I have looked for years. This was the LAST one I was willing to try and in no exaggeration at all, it has changed my life. I've never written a review for an app because I've never cared so much or been so positive impacted by an app. This is my lifeline: in less than one week of having it I have added more 60 notes in 7 different categories (not to mention sub categories within) and just being able to choose colors, or font, or all of the above from before, it makes this app experience MINE. Linking to DropBox is a lifesaver too because my lists and notes are constantly uploading and saving remotely, so I don't have to worry about any freak accident and losing hours of organizational efforts. Thank you to the creators of the app, this is the only app I've ever purchased (I'm cheap and use free ones haha) and because of this app I can cut down my paper usage or my scattered notebooks because it's finally all in one place and with me all of the time through this app on my phone..PuzzlerzzzzzzxVersion: 2.13.0

Helpful organizing toolI use this app everyday and it is great. I use it to make shopping lists at the different stores I shop at as well as for making packing lists for trips and “to do” lists. It is great to be able to mark through an item and then unmark it. One thing I have found “on accident” that I don’t like is that if you scroll to the top of your list too quickly it will “clean up” your list by deleting everything you marked off. I don’t like this feature because when I make a packing list for example, I mark off the things that I have packed and then usually, when I am getting ready to come home from my trip I go back into my list and make sure I pack everything back up to come home. If I have accidentally scrolled to the top of my list too fast it will delete all of the items that I have marked through and that leaves me at risk for forgetting something..NursesrusVersion: 2.13.0

SuggestionLove this app! The swipe features to cross out/delete, to add bullet points or color text etc., are all fantastic. 4 stars because I use this app HEAVILY (instead of a calendar app, on which I struggle to keep up with all the segregated notes and prefer having the list-style interchangeable interface of Upword. But, with those looooong files, it gets difficult to navigate to different sections. So I am writing a review in hopes that they will add some kind of “tab” feature, which you could label within the note, and it would zip you down to the next section within that same file. A Good Notetaking AppWhen I need to write out longer types of notes and make lists, UpWord allows me to do just that while also offering an easy and fast way to remove items off of lists. UpWord offers an easy to use interface that's overall aesthetically pleasing, easy to use and learn, and convenient in terms of its usefulness and its simpleness. Dropbox compatibility is also a great feature that allows me to edit notes on the computer, if I happen to need it for such. Great app!I am extremely impressed by the well thought out, extremely organized way this app is set up, most especially after learning it was developed and is run by a team of 2...great job guys! Love it! I'm a ”lister” and I can't tell you how much paper I go through because of that. Love this app but have an issueHave been using this app for at least 3 yrs now and love it. Use it for daily work & personal to do’s, notes, ongoing grocery list and the list goes on! I am writing a book on it !This app is great! At first I just wanted something to write a list of diet info such as carbs and calories. It is perfect for that. Months ago I decided to write a book. I’m a 64 year old retired trucker and a very low tech kind of guy. I have a hard time understanding apps like Microsoft word and Bear and others. So I have written it on UpWord. It is very easy to understand and use. I believe it has everything I’ve needed to write my book except one thing. It would be be even better if I could cut and paste from photos to it. Wish the colored folders were differentThis app has what I was looking for--colored folders, and the feature of crossing off lines that makes shopping lists way easier. It's easy to organize, a great replacement for the notes app. I just wish the colored folders were more than just a little bit of color next to the words. The color-coding is really helpful to me so it would be nice if the whole heading or even the entire folder was in the color that the folder is. Great program but needs an updateGreat App but need to FIX the Move Error bug that crashes the program. I love the ability to sub folder and I use consistently the ability to copy You Tube links into notes. Anther feature is the ability to tap a phone number to call in a note as well to tap an address to open a map and the ability to insert links to Web pages that also can be opened with a tap. Think is an excellent note taking appThe first time I took a note on this app was on my other iPad that was originally my mom’s. Then for last year’s Christmas, my parents got me the iPad that I wrote this review with. On this iPad, I eventually got this app again . I haven’t gotten the premium features yet, so I only have 2 folders, but I have been taking many notes on this app, mostly about the silly stuff I do. Used to be my favorite...This used to be my favorite note-taking app. I have used it since it first came out. I loved all of the features, especially the organizational features and flexibility of the text files to be used and viewed in various formats. I wish that this app would continue to be my favorite note-taking app. However, I have begun to use Apple's Notes again because, most critically, I have access to Notes when I don't have cellular or wi-fi service. When I don't have cellular or wi-fi service, all of my Upward notes completely disappear. In addition, Notes has developed many of things that I enjoyed in Upward plus it has the ability for me to import photos, the ability for me to handwrite notes, and the ability for me to draw on photos and pdf files. I love this app, but....This is the best note app I've ever seen. I'm using it for school, to write notes, and works perfectly fine. Today, I opened it to study and a notification pops up saying I can get something free from the app. So I choose a font pack and hit redeem. Another notice pops ups saying it will ask for my Apple ID, and I'm fine with that, so I continue and it says transaction failed. Have come to point it’s my go to note apWhen I first started using UpWord I had a UGH moment somehow or other all my notes got wiped out. I can’t remember specifics, but both the app and Dropbox were wiped clean. However, I like the folder feature, as I like to categorize my notes more then just one or two levels. The undo is nice especially when my being a lousy typist, even more so on my iPad where an inadvertent swipe can make a mess. I wish it had the ability to bullet, indent, bold, italicization. Best note taking app that I've found!Upward is also the only note-taking app I use. My favorite thing about it is that you can group notes into folders by category or subject, etc. What I use it the most for is lists, like for shopping, to-do, etc. I like that you can line-through and cross things off the list as you complete them. I've always had an issue using the swiping method to change formatting, but that's just kind of my own issue. I'm OK at it until I think about it before hand, lol! Been using the free app and I like itEvery time I open it it works flawlessly. I like the colors and the sounds. I like the way I can cross items off my list and later swipe down and all crossed off items disappear. You can also swipe left several times and you cycle through options such as symbols in front of your items to differentiate them from other items in your list. UpwordI simply don’t know how I would operate without this app. Before this phone, and app, I had a palm pilot, which worked great. This app, however, is so much superior to my old PalmPilot. Of all the note pads I checked out, this by far was superior. You can build your own categories, and subcategories, and all the notes you need under those categories with no limits. Best list app 😃Hands down this has to be one of the greatest list apps. I am more old fashioned. I wrote my to do, grocery, errands and other lists down on paper because it's a rewarding, satisfying feeling to cross something off when you're done. Great app for lists- I use it for workoutsWorks great to create lists of any kind and organize them. I have created over 150 separate workouts and in each one I’m able to write as much as I need. It’s easy to move the lists around and organize. Tried many apps and none have worked as well as this one to keep things organized. Incredibly helpful- just know..I use this daily. It’s an incredibly useful and sleek app I’ve been using for years as a planner, shopping list, and other things like writing projects. It has several intuitive and easy to master swipes and taps to add things like bullet points or cross things off. This makes note taking quick, painless, and easy. However!! Makes a great Dream Journal.I am using this App to record my dreams. I have over 1300 dreams recorded now. My old Dream Journal App was not updated to match IOS 11 so I had to migrate to this App. I did this at dream #1000. And imported them as a whole into one notebook called “My first Dream Journal”. Since then I am recording dreams in “My Second Dream Journal”. CONSTANT REMINDERS TO UPDATE!!!There are reminders to update every couple days or sometimes every day with this app after paying. This is a very good app, but it seems like almost every time I open it up, the intro screen when you first download it appears and I have to relogin to restore the purchase and restore the night setting. What should have been a quick edit turns into restoring the app and THEN I’m free to do what I opened the app to do. Great product. But please fix syncing bugs?The best notes app I've had. Loved the simplicity. However. Throughout my 4 years of use, once every couple months, I'd run into syncing bugs and lose 10+ of my personal notes!!! It's truly a frustrating experience, to think I've had all my precious thoughts noted down and can go back to, only to find out that they are lost due to syncing bugs. Not working properly after iOs updateI’ve used this app for many years. It was wonderful, I never ver had any problems with it. Now, it’s a nightmare. After iOs 15.2 it simply became a mess. UsefulI use UpWord constantly to make on-the-fly notes about almost anything, and use it to record everything from casual shopping notes to decisions at board meetings. There is only one thing I find irritating; the inability to go to the top of the document by double-tapping the top of the screen. Every other app has this ability, but not UpWord. To return to the top of a long document, one has to flick-scroll to the top. It’s time-consuming and could cause unwanted changes in the text. Great note trackerOverall a great product. I do have some issues with the shortcuts disappearing and I have to relist them and I don’t like the idea of the app not pulling up my notes if there’s no wifi or data, probably a bug. The app is other wise great. I love the security code option, filing under specific folders and resorting the order of the notes. USED TO BE the greatest note appI lived by this note app for 7 years. It was awesome! It did everything I wanted with a well designed, intuitive interface. Sure, it had a few little quirks, like not keeping your settings after updates, etc. But I could live with that. Unfortunately, it appears the app was sold three years ago and the new owners are content to allow it to whither on the vine. There has not been an update since that time and the failure points have become so prevalent as to make it unusable. For example, the link to Dropbox fails each time the app opens, which requires re-linking on almost every use. The solution would be to fix the backend to allow for linking to other cloud databases (Google, iCloud, etc.), or just fix the bugs! But there is no discernible way to contact the developers (all links are broken). So with great regret, I’ve had to migrate to another app..Mels-manVersion: 2.14.0

Hate Hate Hate HateI absolutely hate this app. I had been writing letters to my boyfriend for 8 months about how much I love him and planned to give him all the letters on our wedding day. I constantly backed up my notes and when the “back up & sync” reminder popped up I ALWAYS pressed okay. My phone broke to the point where it wouldn’t come on and I got a new one but there’s no way of getting my old notes back so I don’t understand where I was backing up and syncing to if not to my iCloud? I wrote him hundreds of notes that I will never be able to get back and I’m so mad and hurt. If I would have known that “back up and sync” didn’t truly mean anything because they weren’t being back up or synced to anywhere, I wouldn’t have wasted my time with this app and I would have just used my regular notes all because all my notes from there are still saved and then I’d have all of those letters that I wrote..Luci_67Version: 2.14.0

Worst app I have had the misfortune to buyThis app makes absolutely no sense to me. All I wanted was a simple notepad to dictate spur of the moment thoughts to, on my apple series 3 watch. There is theoretically a sync built into the app using Dropbox on your phone. Notes I wrote on the phone (which was not where I wanted to write them in the 1st place) usually did not appear on my watch ... until later. Maybe. Then they might show up duplicated or triplicated. You can’t delete a note from the watch. You can’t really do much of anything to a note on your watch ... except read the duplicated copies of it several times. Conversely, notes you originally made on the watch might eventually show up on the IPhone, in some cases they were displayed as folders, in others they were just lines of text. Most of the time you got both. I foolishly bought the premium features for the app because of the puzzlingly good reviews the app has received. Oh where oh where is the refund feature in the App Store for lousy, non-working apps? I am hoping I can leave my zero star review of this so-called app, but if I give it one star it is only because I couldn’t give it less ... or get my money back..ThemoyeVersion: 2.12.4

No Customer SupportThis used to be my favorite app, I’ve been using it for several years now— it’s simple and easy to organize and exactly what I was looking for after I got an iPhone— unfortunately over the summer I had some issues with deleted notes reappearing again. Most likely a bug of some sort- I recently got a new iPhone so perhaps the app is no longer compatible— I have reached out to customer support several times now since then and I’ve received no response. Not really sure what to do. I guess all I can do is back up my notes to my computer and start using another app for my notes. It’s with a heavy heart that I say, I don’t recommend this app anymore. No upgrades for a year -- do not purchaseUpdate -- I switched to apple's Notes app. It syncs more rapidly and has all the features I need. No benefit to using Upword unless you want to spend money. I originally found it was a decent app when it worked properly. However, it has not been updated in over a year. What's worse is that the app periodically "forgets" that I have the purchased premium version, at which point it asks for payment. I tap to pay and get the response back that it's already purchased. Nice notepad application-except it keeps asking me to buy itLowered rating again: The app continues to ask me to purchase it even though I did that over a year ago. DEVELOPERS, fix this annoying behavior! LOWERED RATING: I used to use a note organizer called iDo Pro. It was very useful and very similar to Upword. However, the vendor no longer supports it. Upword is a very good replacement for it. My only complaint I have is it’s annoying habit of forgetting I am a registered purchaser and sometimes providing the opportunity to purchase the pro version when I launch it. This happens way too much! I lowered my rating due to the constant begging to purchase the app after it has been purchased. If the programmers can’t fix that what else are they not getting right? Upword still has the Annoying habit of asking me to register/sign up for premium access which I’ve done months ago. I still get the purchase begs and I’m tired of it. Literally the best note taking app this doesn’t work properly in ios 15 yet…This is literally the best note taking app I know of and I bought the full version and everything, but it keep resetting all the tome in IOS 15 — I sent them an E-mail and they have not addressed me. I will have to find another notetaking app soon if they don’t— which I really don’t want to do as this one is among the best. SO UPSETI used this app for a long time for EVERYTHING, had 15+ FOLDERS, w/tons of VERY DETAILED notes, medical hIstories on my family etc., BUT when I upgraded from a iPhone 6S to a 6S Plus it wouldn’t let me transfer my folders/notes back into it w/out paying for an UPGRADE! I spend a long time uploading each note to email to try to copy/paste EACH 1 back into new phone only to find out that now I was ONLY allowed 4 FOLDERS free. What Happened?I’ve used this app nearly every day for years, and paid for the premium features because I loved it so much. Since the latest update, all of my notes, which were arranged by date, are now alphabetical by the first word of the note. I used the date system as a way to keep track of my thoughts at a particular time in my life, and without a that reference, they’re meaningless. IssuesI purchased upgrade a few years back never had an issue until I got a new phone so now it always logs me out and I have to link again with Dropbox it does it all the time I have my appt and bills everything that’s important on there but so I’m always on it back and fourth but why is it always logging me out I didn’t have this issue before. Great App- lousy tech supportDon’t use this for information you value and want to retain. It works fabulously and then everything disappears and there is no way to restore it. You are led to believe that your notes are being synched/backed up to DropBox and then when they all disappear, you are informed that the DropBox is “deprecated” and nothing else. Requests for assistance have been ignored. The only way this app will work consistently and be completely trustworthy is to immediately cut and paste each note into a separate, unrelated note-taking app, which preferably is also backed up by a different cloud based service. What’s that you say? Ridiculous? Stupid? Time-consuming? Yes, it is. What a shame they can’t provide better protections and advice. Maybe they should send out a paper and pencil with each download. Good Product, but Syncing ProblemsThis is a neat product. I have used this for about a year, and also upgraded to the premium version from the very start. Just about a week ago, I had syncing problems, and couldn’t add any new information to any of the sub-folders. I have sent an email to the company (three days ago) regarding my problems, but still haven’t heard from them, and rather disappointed.
