Buyers beware

I have been driving for over 9 years and have close to 2 million safe miles. I decided to not get a new Rand McNally because I did not think they were updating their systems well at all post covid. I had used the free version of trucker path for years and it was absolutely fantastic. It helps with finding great places to do breaks and you could engage with other drivers about open spaces and status of weigh stations etc. So i thought i would give the diamond membership a go and use the GPS they have available. I am not sure if they are just lacking in technology, but this GPS is horrible. I was lucky to have experience and knew better than to take some of the routes they suggested, but a new driver would be in quite the pickle if they exclusively used this tool to navigate. It will take you down routes that technically may be allowed for trucks, but if you know better you would never take. It is not worth the money what so ever and new drivers with less than 2 years experience i would say get an atlas first and then use a more reputable and established gps to supplement your route planning. I hope they can improve this paid gps in the future bc i love all the other aspects of this app and the operators of the app deserve to monetize their product, its really that helpful….but i cannot say with an honest breath that at this moment i would recommend the gps.

Enjoying Updated Trucker Path

I’ve been subscribed to trucker for more than a couple of years. I prefer a truck gps on a phone App and not have too many devices on the windshield. I get to see most of the scenery. Trucker path has improved a lot by adding traffic lights and stop signs on its App graphics. It’s so much easier making turns by knowing the number of traffic lights or stop signs ahead of me. Trucker path takes me right into the Entrance and Exit of almost all of the shipping and receiving businesses and truck-stops. The best thing that I’ve always liked about Trucker Path is that it lets me know the amount of parking spaces that truck-stops have and if there are still some spaces left. Trucker Path never breaks down like overheating which I’ve experienced with a conventional gps device in the past. The only thing bad that I’ve experienced is that it always takes me to Rochelle, NY, from the I-95. It still thinks that there are low bridges in Rochelle, NY, but the bridges are not low anymore in Rochelle, NY. It’s really hard getting out of Rochelle, NY, because there is limited space and lots of people.

Invaluable app

This is not a secret that this is the first app many of as CDL holder get once we get on the road. Check the WS status, history, reviews, parking spaces. Everything is wonderful. However I don’t understand the new parking system. It just doesn’t make sense. For a longer time all we had is empty, somewhat full, and full. Which was fine. But the this new way of selecting parking availability came up when we can check even more in depth, more increments in showing how full the parking is. Which is better. However why do these increments work only when updating the status but it still show the “old” way of empty, somewhat full, and full. For example, if most people selected 3/4 full when updating the status and someone, who’s looking for the parking, decides to check the status it will show him “full” or completely red. Well, it doesn’t make sense. When I update the status I didn’t intend to show that it’s “full” I intend to show “3/4 full”. In other words the updating system and the status system should look the same. So when one is looking for the parking, it would be possible to see that parking space is 95% full, not just red. For instance, (real life) there are around 10 parking spots on this huge track stop. Let’s call it 97% full. If enough people mark it 9/10 full, it will be visible. But it it will just show “red” (full) it’s useless for people in need of parking and it’s just interpreting it wrong.

Updated review/issue resolved

To review any establishment, weigh station, etc. you must now choose a star for the place you are reviewing to allow you to post. They changed that in an update but just glad to be able to review. I just wish they would somehow let all users know it because the reviews have definitely dropped off unfortunately. Why would I pay when people can no longer review places?! Reviews are getting scarce since the update. Since the update if you don’t pay for the premium version you can update weigh stations as open or closed but can no longer comment in the reviews if they are inspecting or other to notify other drivers. This means meant less reviews. Even if I decide to upgrade to the premium so that I can review them I still won’t be getting the same feedback as people that would normally review of inspecting or other things are going on can no longer do so if they are not paying for the premium service. This apples to restaurants, rest areas, parking etc. REVIEWS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE FREE OR PAID THAT HAS THIS APP. That assures the premium subscribers are getting their money’s worth out of it. Very disappointed in the change. There are many ways to benefit than taking review privileges away.

Returning customer

I am a returning customer. When I ended my subscription the customer care team reached out to me and asked why I no longer a customer. I said it’s way too expensive for a navigation system that I don’t own. Now I miss having trucker path and I use both my garmin and trucker path. This app offers so much more than a garmin offers. Trucker path also has better routes than my garmin. I use both now and I love it. I edit my garmin to trucker path routes. Using trucker path saved me several times for almost running out of hours. It tells you if parking is full or many spaces available. If weight station are open and if the offer over night parking. This is a great app. It is very well worth the money. I’ve tried every free trucker navigation app out there. This has them beat by far. You get what you pay for. This is top quality and paying for quality is worth the money . If you have any doubts about this navigation system PM me and I’ll clear you of any doubts. Buy the app it’s so worth it. Sorry I ever left.

My issues resolved...

This is one of the best apps for monitoring truck stop parking availability, weigh station status, and fuel prices. Brilliant user interface, just as well as it is user friendly. I personally recommend it for any trucker out there who has a tablet or cell phone handy, and wants to use it as part of their equipment, as it can be extremely useful. My issues were with my premium features, particularly “Night Mode”, and not being able to get them to work. However, the developer was quick to respond to my rant of frustration and helped me figure it out. Initially, I thought you had to sign in to restore your purchases... something I couldn’t do, because I didn’t have an account, nor would it even allow me to establish one either. If you are having trouble getting your purchased features to work, tapping on the “Your Account” heading and then “restore purchases” at the bottom of the screen, corrected this issue for me. My apologies to the dev, if I came across as being rude. This is what stress does to an old man like me hey lol.

Good, but not good

I have had this app for several months. It worked well the $30 package. I don’t know if I use it to its fullest but it worked for me until recently. It has been seven days and my app has not worked. There is no customer service that helps or get the problem solved…. they just keep telling me to delete the app and start it over. Turn off your phone. Turn it on have been doing this several times a day and that is not working.. but I can tell you what works… is the automatic payment that go through my account once a month for $30. I am beyond frustrated! I have asked him to either fix the app so I can use it or refund my money back now no one is communicating with me. I would appreciate if someone from this company could get in contact with me that would be lovely! I will update to inform if I have been refunded or if they get the app to work for me.

Must Have

There is no secret that this app is a must have for new and old timers alike. Offers truck routing, you can check where all the truck parking is, and availability as well as what weight stations are open and diesel prices and much more. Very good app it has helped me a lot. Use it daily. My only suggestion to the developer is to add another tab when you click on a icon on the map (such as a truck stop, parking, weight station etc) after reviews. They should add like a question tab or something like that. On the reviews people are always reviewing places 1 or 5 stars just to ask “can anyone update the parking?” Without actually checking the place out leading to an unfair review. That extra tab should be organized by date and time for the question and then have a reply section under it so someone can answer the questions instead of leaving a random unfair rating.

The Best Trucker GPS. SUGGESTIONS tho

I’ve been using the diamond version for about a year and a half. It’s very accurate with low bridges majority of the time as well as truck restricted roads. Still could use some minor updating though. At the end of the day, have to use common sense on something’s out there. The option to see if parking is available at rest stops and truck stops is spot on. Just wish more drivers would use it more to be 100% accurate but still good enough for me. The entrance and exit for shippers is 98% accurate which is more than I could expect so that’s a huge A+ and so important. Seeing if weigh stations are open, seems to be what most people focus on and I’m not mad about it. Being able to input speed within the preplanning is an AMAZING feature for planning out the trip. One of the biggest reasons why I continue using this app as my primary trucker GPS is the fact you can have the option for satellite view not only for when arriving at shippers/receivers but at all given time! A few things for the developers to focus on… First, make the speech more realistic. All of the voices are brutal to listen to, sounds like Macintosh computer animated. Second, the app crashes on my iPad. I keep it up on my iPhone and iPad but the iPad seems to be the only one with issues on a daily basis which is frustrating and distracting. Third, there should be an all in buy feature for this app. I’ve spent a lot of money with being a diamond member and there should be a cap. Overall love everything about it and would recommend it to anyone. Keep up the great work!

Simply The Best

Trucker Path is by far and away the BEST navigation app! For truckers, it’s got fuel locations and FUEL DISCOUNTS, parking updates, rest areas, weigh station updates, route restrictions, low clearances, vendor entries and exits with comments and pix, etc. It’s so robust it’s hard to include everything! When I’m out of the semi and in the car, I use Trucker Path over Google or Apple Maps! It’s just that good!! I’ve been using the product for almost 3 years now and it gets constant updates and enhancements to make it even better!! The fuel discounts from my experience average around $0.30/gal. That means that 2-3 fill-ups will pay for the Annual Diamond Plan and then you just keep saving if you keep using!!! The only thing Trucker Path doesn’t do well is CALL OUT THESE DISCOUNTS IN ITS MARKETING 😜! You can’t go wrong with this app! It’s AMAZING!!

LadyDae79Version: 6.8.5
Not liking the new update!

Okay so I absolutely love this app!! I use it every single day throughout the day. But one of the reasons I use it is to see if I want to eat in the truck or at a truck stop or restaurant somewhere. Like I have my favorites around the country and I’ll sometimes plan to stop at certain places. Well months ago, there was an update that made it harder to tell which restaurant was actually at the truck stop. And now with the new update, you can’t see what restaurant is at the truck stop at all!! It doesn’t even show it on the restaurants list!! I could honestly care less most days about what’s around. But I do want to know what is at the actual truck stop! Please fix this! Also, where it says pet friendly, laundry, gym, etc.... You should add tabs for like vape shop, barber shop, and tattoo and piercing shop! There are some truck stops that have those and it would be cool to know which ones by looking at the app!

Use this app daily

I’ve had this app since it first came out and the improvements with it are incredible over the years. I recommend this to everyone I know, it’s simple to use, gives you an idea on if there is parking available, lets you see the trends related to the stop you’re looking at so you can plan ahead accordingly, and the reviews from the drivers give you an idea of whether or not the stop is worth your time. HOWEVER, this app is just a tool so if you’re using it blindly, it just like any GPS system can get you in a pickle. If you’re using trucker path responsibly it can really help streamline your trip planning. I love it, I have the trucker path and Sirius XM combo plan and it’s definitely worth the money. Thank you for making such a great tool to help us out here on the road.

App great, but yesterday navigation didn’t work

Developers please fix detected congestion. It repeats back to back, for like 5 min straight. I pay for this app so I don’t have to buy a 600 dollar or 400 dollar Harmon and have more junk in my truck. Yesterday app went out while traveling cross country during hurricane IDA, my load was 14 foot 2 inch and on my way through Texas, hit my highest car on table 1 on a bridge. Hit it slowly and ripped off a fin for the antenna. Really upset but price I pay for being cheap. Also, truckers path has gotten really expensive, diamond needs to be a little cheaper. I will spend the time planning routes every stop, limited to 3 at gold, kinda pricey cause I’m 2 years with the app, I could buy a gps unit. Price needs to come down!

Coty D. GradneyVersion: 5.2.4
Last update didn’t work

Man I don’t know what’s up with this app. It takes my money but nothing improves. The latest update was talking about correcting performance issues and bugs but this thing still has problems. I don’t think they fix anything. It’s just a way of keeping your money by pretending to fix stuff. I’ve had some of the issues that others have mentioned such as the route not updating and it freezing. Also what’s the deal with adding a stop to the current route and the thing puts in you current location. I wish I could upload a photo and then I will show what I’m talking about. As much money that keeps getting poorer into this app it needs to be much better thank what it is.

John D.73Version: 5.8.2
Great app

I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect much when I downloaded this app. I figured it would be wrong most of the time. Maybe get you close to where you was going, but I figured it would constantly get you on residential streets or maybe even lost. It’s a tool, like a wrench for a mechanic. It isn’t 100% right on all the time. But 99% of the time not only is it right, but it also tells you the company that your going to by the address you put in. Try to get that from Garmin or other truck GPS apps or high dollar GPS’s. I put my address in and it reassures me I’m going to the right place because the company name comes up. Thank You very much for creating such a high tech app for truck drivers! It helps out alot!

19dini74Version: 5.6.2
Great app…with some minor (that could be very major) issue

For the most part the commercial routing is very good; however, it will have you exit the interstate then have you get back on the next on-ramp right back onto the same interstate. It will have you exit the interstate and route you through a town you have no business being in (and not at all apart of your route), it will reroute you due to a closed road…but won’t tell you that’s why it did the reroute. I’ve had it reroute on me and I didn’t pay attention to it because I figured it was doing its own thing again as it has in the past just to come up on an accident that closed the through road and having everyone make a uturn…so now I have to constantly babysit it and make sure things are staying on route.

FortyandLifeToGoVersion: 6.3.9
5 star but if I could give 4.99 I would

I have been using Trucker Path for over a month and have driven through numerous states, including Colorado, Arkansas, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Kansas, and Nebraska. I have encountered no issues, even in Dallas, which has experienced significant road closures. My sole request is that Trucker Path be able to pause background media when it is speaking. While this feature is not particularly problematic with music, it is extremely frustrating when listening to audiobooks. Regularly, I have missed 10-25 seconds of audio that was muted behind Trucker Path. I kindly request that this issue be addressed. Still a 5 star app!

Norcross03Version: 6.4.7
Time to throw away the Garmin GPS!!!

Just got the Gold version of the app. a couple of days ago and did one trip so far. My opinion is that it’s very good app for those of us who have a hard time following directions. It’s very precise and clear as to where to turn or direction to take. I find it repeats the directions several times for some it might not be that necessary but for myself I need it cause like I said sometimes I have a hard time following directions. I wonder how the platinum version is since the Gold is awesome probably your one stop app for everything having to do with being a truck driver. My personal thanks to the creators of this app. Keep up the updates and good work.

JRodzazzVersion: 5.7.1
It would be five stars but….

So I love the apps interface and the way it routes and the parking availability and the tolls and that you have the specific truck stop locations in the app but here lately the app has been crashing on me so badly that it locks me out of my phone and I can’t even power my phone off to exit the app it keeps making it to where I’m sending out an sos alert so I get my wife freaking out and 911 calling me asking me what my emergency is and how they can help me. And it always happens the same way. I get to my destination and if I don’t answer the did we bring you to the right place question right away I get locked out. So if this gets fixed it’ll be a five star app.

Hacknslash1985Version: 5.4.0
I will still give it 5 stars.

Make this review short and simple, Was skeptical of choosing the Trucker Path app over a Truck GPS device even tho software is software. Anyhow, my experience with Trucker path GPS has exceeded my expectations. Like any GPS with common sense you will be alright, love that you can plan your route in detail, very friendly interface, have rerouted very easily and very fast when needed. I actually upgraded from Gold membership to Diamond as soon as it was time to renew. I think it’s worth every penny. Only thing I will add in rural/town areas better route options that are definitely available but the great part the routes that are given to you are TRUCK FRIENDLY.

BlessedVesselBITBVersion: 6.8.9
Safe

Been using for over a year and a half and it has saved me from driving into areas that are prohibited for trucks. Let’s me find alternate routes and gives me the satellite image of where I am going. Show me the layout of entrances to deliver rides aiding in my delivery.. although the app does show traffic backup in highway but never is able to provide alternate routes even though you know one is available. The only issue is the app tends to shut down unexpectedly during a route at least once a day which is very annoying especially when you don’t know the area and in high city traffic. I have raised the issue and no response as to why. I mostly use the app on an iPad and just sometimes on my phone on an emergency basis.

Best gonna get

I dont like all the editing, censorship on weigh station reviews; i don't care about hotels ; restaurants; truck stops, parking, none of it; i ise the app for knowing information about weigh stations and being able to talk to other drivers on the reviews about the cops are doing at the weigh station and around them; my messages get erased ; and other people messages on reviews on weigh stations get erased as well

Trucker Path: Truck GPS & Fuel Negative Reviews and Ratings

Many frustrating errors, Support doesn’t help at all

I wouldn’t be writing this review if I wasn’t paying for this app every month . But because I am paying every month to use this app, and this is what I .. this is why I write this . Despite my numerous attempts for Support, nothing seems to change . I’ve reported over 350 issues, over the span of two years… some might’ve been fixed.. most seemed like they haven’t. Biggest problems I have right now is that making turns onto different highways the GPS does not give details that the Rode Sainz say.. for example the city of the direction you’re going in.. it’s clearly on the sign.. but the GPS does not say it. This has led to me taking the wrong turn multiple times because the GPS is not clear enough. It does not show me what the road sign shows. I have reported many of these issues… in the automated email says that they will get to work on it soon, but I’ve come back to places that I’ve reported previously after much time and the same problem is still there. I’ve emailed Trucker Path and asked if my requests are even being seen. They assured me that they’re always working on each of my requests, yet have the changes do not come. The same problem still persist. As much as I would like to give this app five stars, since it can be useful at times.. it just feels like the developers do not care about the user experience enough.

Mark KolVersion: 6.9.8
Not worth it

Way over priced for what you get. It will give you the nearest truck stop or parking area but even that has issues. You can be driving away from that stop and rather than showing what’s next it will keep showing you that stop. I want to know what is next in the direction I am driving and on the route I am on. You will be driving thinking that a certain place is coming up. Nope, on a different route or down a different path. It favors certain places as well. Will not show multiple stops at the same exit. Next, the app will glitch out and send you either in a circle or the wrong direction. It wasn’t there when I planned it but it decides without informing you that it is deciding to take you on a wild goose hunt. One headache after another. I paid for a month and had to stop using it because of the stress it was causing me. There are way better less frustrating FREE apps that i prefer. The little bit those mess up I can handle. At least they don’t decide to take me on a magic trip that wasn’t planned. And if they do switch they ask and give information about the new route so that you can make an informed decision. Do yourself a favor. Don’t waste the money on this. I almost threw my phone out the window of the truck it was that bad. This app cost me time and miles exceeding the $30 monthly price tag that I will never get back.

Dangerous, rarely accurate and expensive

OTR TEAM CROSS COUNTRY DRIVER....We paid for the diamond monthly. It’s VERY DANGEROUS because it keeps popping up with questions about weigh stations and you have to push the x button exactly perfect while driving!!! It should just time out within seconds and clear the question from our screen if we can’t answer!! We should NOT have to TOUCH our phone once our route is set. On top of that, just about every time it asks about a weigh station, there’s NEVER one around!! It also reroutes automatically and doesn’t even give you a notification or choice to say no. Costs us extra time on the road because it doesn’t give the directions soon enough before it’s time to make the turn or change freeways etc. Seems like it re routes in order to make us pay tolls for whatever state we’re in. It has also taken us on roads that are NOT truck routes when in cities. Queens, Ny Was a lot of fun this week...... Also the speed limits are never accurate...can’t trust it. Wish it was more reliable. We need a good trucker app that is truly reliable doesn’t cause distractions with ads and constant questions popping up. It doesn’t save our addresses in the history either which causes us to have to stop and retype everything back in if our route gets messed up. Also, my husband and I share this app on our iPhones but only one of us can be logged in at a time, which doesn’t make sense at all. I wish we could stay logged in, so we can help navigate for each other when there’s a sudden discrepancy. It definitely would be less stressful for the driver. Very disappointed. Hope they fix this stuff and become more reliable especially for such an expensive app.

Was good…too many distractions..recent app crashing

I’ve been using this app for a couple years. I liked the simplicity of it but now there’s too much stuff on the active map navigation screen. Maybe make options to choose what you want on your screen. Also, now that there’s more stuff on the screen, the box that shows the next turn or instruction minimizes and if you want to see it, you have to open it manually. We are driving, we want the important information to be shown at all times. Second part of my complaint: The app just crashes or freezes the last few days. I did the update today but it’s still crashing. To the other user that said this app brings you through town and to the wrong entrances: you can choose the entrance you want it to bring you to and if you trip plan correctly, you will be able to avoid downtown/congested/busy areas. I use 3 systems, Garmin, this app, and the company navigation…but before anything, I look at Google earth to see my route and where I’m entering. All 3 of my systems have given me wrong directions in the past (yes, even Garmin). My routes usually end up being a combo of all 3. The app is still good for finding parking and other locations.

Great features, good routes but lots of room for improvement

I like Truckerpath but there is just too much they are trying to do at once without getting any one thing 100% solid. The eta’s have been 100% dead on but the routing is questionable with odd exits and re-entry to highways. The trip planner is a great tool. I use it weekly when I’m planning my trip for the next week. The biggest issue with the planner is if you’re just planning a trip, say a few days before the actual trip, I get the ETA to my starting point which skews the entire trip. Then entering times for departures, breaks, dwells and appointments doesn’t seem to calculate as I was hoping. Say I enter my first appointment time, I can’t get the planner to calculate when I should leave my start point. Lots of trial and error. I see a lot of truck stops on the map but aren’t highlighted in the bottom corner, only those with fuel price discounts seem to be highlighted. Lots of potential but also lots of issues for the price. Going to look at downgrading from Diamond or look at another planner app.

Not able to use CarPlay

So the problem here, I can’t say that app so bad, but… it still have a lot of problems inside app, glitching map, the turns doesn’t match with actual map, or opposite, sometimes weight stations don’t shows up I have looking manually on the route, when I operate in NY area or Chicago map going crazy including wrong turns. And now one more thing, I’m not able use the CarPlay if I use gold membership, so just for CarPlay I have pay 30$ every month which means 360 per year for service what still working not for that money… and one more thing I’m not Semi trucker, I’m operate just pickup with trailer, that means I’m doing less money, so I switched my membership for 9,99$ and I was surprised of CarPlay. Simple thing which works everywhere but here I have pay 240$ for it. That ridiculous. I really don’t need that much of opportunities what I can have with diamond membership it’s really not necessary for people like me, but CarPlay should be able in gold membership! Thank you

App. could use improvements.

I bought this app. as an up to date GPS to navigate my semi and 53’ trailer. At first I was happy with navigation, but found challenges in app. use. First I was on Metro(LG Stylos 6) and map update lagged, and seeking to realign map of find rest areas, truck stop, etc. just could not keep app. operating without lagging. Now I have AT&T with iPhone 12Max Pro too. The other day I lost all navigation due to app. update needed 24 hrs. plus after I needed navigation of this paid subscription. Also this app. wants constant feedback on status of lots where I am at and I have never been able to access that info for a stop I am trying to make. Still having app. lagg with 5G!!!!! Suggestions: 1)allow user option to turn off ASKING/FEEDBACK for lot information “OFF”. I want an app. that I am paying for to work for my needs before I am distracted to provide information I am not able to use myself. This app. is wanting me to contribute info.(i am not against), but I want guidance and functionality of app. as I have paid for. 2)CUSTOMER SERVICE WITHIN THE APP. I will not renew this app. the $100 I could have invested toward a Garmin, not dependent on a connection, developers, and customer service. This is an ok app. but needs user reliability improvements. Being an over-the-road driver, too much extra effort in user to provide into. to products paying for #1 is a distraction, but also a frustration not wanting to mitigate in an already busy day... KV

Still won’t open

The last two updates have locked out the app. It will not open at all. It was a huge problem last update and this update hasn’t resolved anything except causing it to hit home screen faster. Was beginning to start locking out free users prior to these last two updates, so I’m guessing that y’all slammed the nail on the coffin for us. It used to be a helpful app, now it requires full payment of any services rendered. (When it actually works, that is!) Update. I’ve fully updated my iOS and the app still locks out, but you can get some access now. Although it Puts ads covering the entire screen and makes it dangerous to use while driving. Navigation doesn’t work anymore without a gold subscription. To be fair though, it never really worked to begin with. The developers must think everyone is completely stupid. They took all the free information and decided to charge everyone for it. Even the weight station information isn’t correct. Horrible app and developer support is trying to smooth you over to purchase it. No thanks, I don’t need a sandpaper dill.!

Some Issues

I still think this is the best trucking up Around. Unfortunately there’s not very many good ones, So that’s not saying much. This app has an OK navigation system. I live in Newport Tennessee and they don’t even have my city listed. I also can’t type and addresses, it’s only for well-known destinations. I wish they would add more. Also, basically if you aren’t on the interstate or a major state road, you’re probably out of luck. I mainly use this app for checking waste stations, which I can get access to in the free version. This leaves no incentive for me to buy the app. Also there are other apps that allow you to to do the same thing. On top of that, $100 a year is kind of pricey. I understand why they are doing it and it is probably helping them improve their navigation system. But if Google maps can give you a navigation system for free, then why does this version cost $100 if it’s not nearly as good? If you Drive trucks for a living and then it may be worth it for you. But in my case I only drive trucks to haul equipment around, and there is no option for a cheaper subscription if I only use it a few hours a month. So I’d be paying too much. I would happily pay $100 and even more if the navigation system was actually worse what I’d be paying for it. For crying out loud, it doesn’t even list my city in Newport Tennessee as an option, and that’s my home base.

Not good recently

The latest update has made this app almost unuseable. I had to delete it off of my phone to get out of a trip. It was a nice app before. I have reloaded it after deleting the subscription part of it. Going to try it again to see if it is still worth the space on my phone. Ok I tried it, not useful for trips. When it gives directions, linked to my truck speakers, it comes through like someone using a bullhorn in my cab. Since there is no way to quiet it, it will only be used for finding truck stops addresses which I can then put into google maps which I can at least turn the volume down. I also listen to books so if I adjust the phone volume to stop the painful horrific noise from the directions, I can’t hear the book when it comes on. Also it is very difficult to stop a trip until you complete it, which is why I had to delete it off my phone in the first place. I have used this app for 10 years or so, up until the last update, it was my favorite-NOT NOW!!!!

Was great but now it’s becoming infuriating!

I pay for the diamond level and I am getting more and more frustrated and disappointed with this app over the last 4 months. When the app needs to update it completely messes up in the middle of a trip when you need directions the most. It just stops tracking or giving turn by turn directions, and it quits talking to you also so if you’re not closely watching after driving for hours on end you could actually miss vital turns and completely messes up your trajectory! There have even been times when my waypoint would completely delete out if my trip while I’m in the middle of getting directions to it! Instead of the seasonal skins that you really can’t see the full effect of when in use, PLEASE fix these issues of the app completely stopping just because it needs an update in the middle of a trip!!!

Freezes constantly

When it’s functioning, Trucker Path is a great app, however, it constantly freezes. The distance and time to a destination will not update or refresh, and voice navigation will stop working. You must close and restart the app in between destinations or you’ll find yourself doing so while driving. This may cause you to miss turns and exits which then cause you drive more mile and burn more fuel. It does a good job keeping you on truck routes and avoiding low bridges but if you’re familiar with Google Maps, this app is not as stable. I submitted a ticket for this issue over a year ago. Then I cancelled my subscription because I went to work for a company that provided truck GPS. Now I’m an owner operator and I have to provide my own GPS so I gave Trucker Path another try. The same issue is still present. There’s also another review complaining of this same issue. The developers replied that this shouldn’t happen but it does. I hope they listen to us and look into it. Also, it’s unsafe that it ask for feedback every time I pass by a weigh station, rest area or truck stop. I’m driving. I can’t read messages or use my phone while I’m driving. There should be an option to disable asking for feedback, at least while in motion. I’d like to continue using Trucker Path but if the freezing isn’t corrected I’ll have to look into other options.

Most useful review ever

1) sends you on closed ramps and roads 2) cant change truck’s weight 3) often gives advantage to congested interstates instead of traffic-free other roads 4) doesnt automatically reroute NEVER - you must click on “reroute” every 5 minutes 5) extremely complicated to use 6) often sends to longer roads near PU and Drop off factories 7) when you select filters you must delete the whole trip to reselect. Oftend doesn’t show weight stations 8) AND EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: on highways automatically enters highway mode and zooms the hell out you cant see roads, sometimes even cant see your route. That gets you to not be able to see which road should you take IN CITIES. Makes big trouble 9) sometimes the route just disappears 10) doesnt show number of exit, shows the road number you are exiting to 11) sometimes doesnt show which lane you should take 12) doesnt show all truck stops 13) when you search for a stop along the route, it gives you results by distance from your current location, not from route. So it always shows results away from route. You must use g maps for that 14) cant zoom in or out and follow ur vehicle. If u zoom it stays there forever, if u recenter u get zoomed out 15) and many more i cant remember currently 16) it is paid and totally not worth it because g maps does better job (especially in congestions) and you must use g maps for things that this app doesnt provide

Works if u don’t wanna buy a gps

With that said there’s still multiple bugs throughout the app. One example : when I put an address on my phone it offers me multiple routes and it even lets me add stops to it . But when I use my iPad witch is the one it’s intended for me to use this app on it will show m only one route and no ways to add a stop . Second example while on route on the iPad I tap on a rest area icon and instead I f appearing on the side of the screens it will take the whole screen space and when I tap the X to go back to the route I won’t let me do it . Forcing me to close the app .3rd I’ve been sent multiple times thru very long and unreliable routes despite there been simpler and more efficient routes and turns . With that said something else that irritates me a little bit it’s the thousand subscription options the app offers they don’t make no sense and even have useless more expensive options when the gps routes are a 5/10 the usability of the app is 8/10 . My suggestions is far more people will be attracted to rely on this app if you worked on improving the routes and just make it a simple subscription monthly or just sell the whole app as an actual gps . There’s q reason why only 10% of truck drivers use this as their regular gps listen to the ppl s reviews . One last thing I spent a whole night downloading my offline maps for the iPad and also that doesn’t work when I got no signal . The whole idea of this app is extremely brilliant and if those things could be fixed I’m sure newer generations of truck drivers would rather pay a subscription than buying an outdated overpriced gps which devices are very slow and easily damaged when instead we could use our own devices . “Phones tablets iPads “ my bottom line is after a couple months of using it I’m still gonna keep my subscription I will always rather use my own devices and have a subscription than pay full price for a gps I won’t be using in two years from now so if u r like me clans can deal with those things the &9.99 subscription is for u

Refuses to work properly

As a normal gps it’s fine. I would say it’s no better or worse the google maps or Apple Maps. The extra features rarely worked. One day it stopped alerting me to weigh stations (no settings were ever changed.) and I was never able to get it back. It however never missed a chance to ask me 3-5 questions about every weigh station it didn’t tell me about… I’ve had several gps/nav issues. One day it couldn’t find Joliet IL, with full service. Another day I was able to 45 minutes off a 75 minute drive by making a normal left turn ( in a small town in ga it wanted me to take a right, go up a blocked, take a right, go up a block, take a left etc etc about 25 times.) Overall it would be fine, if it were free, but I paid 15/month and got basically google maps, that’s too much for features that don’t work.

I’m not making an account!

You might have your reasons but I’m sure they don’t stand up to my opinion! I am not making an account and the fact that I can’t post reviews as a result just really hurts the community. I think you should undo that part of these new updates. That is not the trucker path I know and love and I will not comply! As far as the rest of the stuff the app is getting quite good! Distances are very accurate and now count down the miles to a selected POI instead of having to tap for an update! One little bug I still see is when I have a selected POI and I pass a weigh station and the app asks if it’s open or closed I tap the appropriate response (ex. Closed) then now my POI will show a red “closed” status instead of parking criteria. This requires the user to tap off and back on the POI. Not as big a deal as needing an account to post a review but it has been ongoing for a long time.

New is not always good

Please, bring the old view back! The new view that appears when we click on the truck stop on the map is not good and adding extra steps to see information is bad. Developers has to understand that just because something looks better is not actually always better. The reason why is that 99.9% of us is using the app while driving (yes, I know, we shouldn’t do this, but we do and we will keep doing it) to search for stops and see updates on parking/weigh stations and we don’t really want to have extra steps to see something what we could have done without even looking at the screen before. Overall, this is a great app for everything you need in trucking. Keep up with great work and as soon as you bring the old view back I’ll update this to 5 stars. Please, listen to your users.

Might be good, I’ll never know, based on my experience, seems unlikely.

I attempted to use the app under the 7 day free trial, after which I was immediately charged the full month price. Pretty lame, but forgivable, IF I then had access to the “premium” features that I paid for, I didn’t. I tried restarting the app, I tried the restore purchase button, nothing, and funny enough if I clicked the premium button, it would say “already purchased”. $30 a month for an app is monstrously spendy, which there can be no justification for, if the app can’t even tell that you’ve paid for it. Currently submitting a refund request through apple, I’ll see what happens. Super frustrating experience, which I doubt the app is worth when compared to the price, and based on how the most basic aspect of an app (you pay for a service and then you receive it) doesn’t work, I would not be surprised to learn no other aspects of the app work either

Good app, big problems, no tech support

I’ll start by explaining what I mean by good app, big problems. I like the navigation part of the app, it’ll let you look up places by name or address. It does good on creating a route a d I’ve heard it will even the take you to Apple Maps and Waze. It was great until they updated it. Now it locks up several times during the day. Today alone, it locked up 6 times. Most of the time it locks up only the count down to next turn and the time/distance on the bottom of the screen. The voice and map continue to work. Today it totally locked up and while I didn’t notice that it had locked up, I missed turns both times before I realized it was locked. When I put in a notice of a problem, which I’ve done no less than 10 times, I get en email from them every time asking where I was when it did it, what was my start and end points. I’ve replied to that every time. I then get a email telling me to delete the app, clear the cache, restart the phone and then reinstall the app. I’ve done that 8 times and it hasn’t worked yet. On one of those downloads, the version that installed now cuts off the top and bottom so I can’t see how far it is until the next turn, I can’t see the exit number, and it cuts off the ETA and distance to destination on the bottom. I’ve reported all of these problems several times and still not fixed. I tried to call the number that came with one of the emails and they never answered the calls. I’ve left voice mails every time and no phone call back. If they fix my problems I will change this review. If you're the developers of this app, please contact me and we can discuss my problems.

Why bother?

The main pushed function of this is the routing abilities. A pay once, stand alone GPS does a lot better job than this. The routing is not accurate, it’s very difficult to completely stop a trip once you have started it compared to a GPS. The very annoying search option tray is set to tapping the map instead of a button like most other apps. This is for those of you who change your search multiple times on a single search, like a quick draw. Only problem is it’s really easy to quick draw and get right in your way. As for data regarding weigh station, and parking, it’s based on user input and many times wrong. Are you willing to pay a high monthly fee for inaccurate routing and status data? If so, this the app for you. Don’t get me wrong, this app is useful, just not at the golden price they want for it. It’s basically a $5 pocket truckstop guide with questionable routing for a large yearly fee.

Update was a down grade

I use this app everyday and it was outstanding 5stars before the last update. Now routing function is almost unusable. Directions option is no longer available while in routing. You have to go back out of your route and into search mode to get the directions icon to reappear. Then once you get it to send directions to google maps anytime you come back into the app the screen zooms out and your stuck trying to find your stop again. Not to mention when the route zooms out the screen is so jammed with the new “bold” icons you can’t hardly see where you are on the route. I called tech support to see if I was doing something wrong and his answer was you need the subscription to get that feature back. Now I’m paying for the app and routing still doesn’t have an option for directions. I’m really looking forward to the next update to hopefully erase the last update so this can go back to a 5 star app.

Probably good for Big Rigs, poor for Van Travel, Support issues

I was exited to trial both Diamond/Gold together for a few days. My needs were to have pre-planned routes for my 22ft 5ton not for hire Van. Wanted to save the links, fuel and toll costs. Also wanted to see how customer service was. Test: Plan a trip from Long Island, NY to Camden, NJ from my current location in Chicago. Issues 1) could not put MPG information in my truck profile, always defaulted to 6PMG. 2) Even with Diamond/Gold features setting a route from NY to NJ somehow worked once, then used current location to plan a trip from Chicago first. All estimates/navigation started in Chicago and included thousands of miles of Tolls/Fuel! Useless. 3) Unable to save and retrieve Routes. This is not a feature supported by software. 4) Customer Support! Horrible! Chat is available. I log on and ask a question and they say will be right with you. First thing I get is message “we have not heard from you, are you still there?” 😂 Chat agent says that a bug, just ignore it. I asked about MPG information, they said from where to where- waited a reasonable time- and they replied there is a bug that has to be escalated to DEV team. It’s been 4-5 days NEVER heard from DEV team, but did get an email saying they have not heard from me and they will be closing ticket. Same treatment for issue reguarding current location. No reply. So, Chat agent says DEV team takes 24-48hr to reply , I can assume Big Rig Drivers get from Point A-B OK without having issues fixed, and once the system is set is does scads of great features (hours, height, weight, restriction alarms). Just not for me. Can’t really wait days to get no reply…Probably great program for most of the 66,000 good ratings.

Becoming worse with each update

The app is becoming more and more cumbersome to use with each update. They’re requiring more button presses, spamming more pop-ups and asking for more information with each update. It used to be 3 button clicks clicks to navigate plus typing in the address. Now it’s 5 plus you have to move a pin to your starting location. And then you have to stop and relaunch the trip because it won’t start until after you drive exactly over the pin. Which rarely happens because it’s usually on some side road or at the entrance to a place not the exit etc. After my sub ends I am moving on from this app to something else. It’s not worth paying for any more. And that’s not discussing the poor navigation. Now I can’t even control the screen with trucker’s trash open. It just moves back to where it wants to go as soon as I stop panning. Worthless trash app.

This was an amazing app, I don’t know what happened recently, the new update is HORRIBLE !!!! The first 4 days of the update the gps wouldn’t navigate a thing, I tried redownloading and even restarting my phone (I have the latest iPhone and WiFi and high speed data), it was the GPS. Good thing I can navigate an atlas. Now it works but the gps doesn’t shut up !!! Every .2 miles it says what’s next and “detected congestion” is something the GPS says every .1 … YES .1 of a mile, I’m going to delete the app, it’s terrible get a Garmin or something (I got rid of my Garmin for this, but this is just ridiculous), and yes I paid full price for all the features of this app. If it’s not broke don’t fix it, I’m not sure what the point of the recent update was but please get rid of it, it’s that bad that my 5 star review went down to a 1, not even a 2. This app costed me a lot of money

When I got this app, I use to get trips that were maybe 20-50 miles over the miles that I would be getting paid. I was okay with that. But now, I get to use this app, and ALL of my trips are hundreds of miles over the amount of miles that I’m getting paid. It happens when I use the truck routing settings. No matter how many times I mess around with those settings, I can never get this app to give me a route that isn’t 200+ miles more than what I’m getting paid. The routes just look lazy and lousy. I get that the app can try to get you out of going through routes without construction, but when it costs us a lot of money to go through some of those routes, it’s not worth it. I’m going to keep using this app until I can afford a garmin GPS. I’m very disappointed, I really liked this app when I got it. I may still use it to find truck stops, but I won’t be paying for a membership anymore.

Avoid Trucker Path

I’ve used TP for years. But now, current version is automatically upgraded with a Congratulations notice that you’ve been chosen to use the new beta version. You cannot override the upgrade. The only way to revert back is to delete the app and reinstall. I’ve done that dozens of times but within 24 hours the user is forced to use the beta version. The user is given an option to reach out to support to revert back. ALL requests go unanswered. Why not use the beta version? It is full of errors and problems and not as effective as non-beta release. The route path line disappears every time a scale or truck stop status pop up appears. There is no way to view details of route options. Truck stops and parking isn’t accurate. Many options previously available are only available with paid subscription. Why pay if support is non-responsive, the app is riddled with flaws, in inaccurate information?

Maps don’t open with my location as the origin

It’s like the developer went out of their way to make the app more difficult to use. They added additional click throughs required to open the route in Apple or Google Maps and they removed the “my location” as the default starting location for routes even if they have access to your location data. Every time you are ready to start the navigation, you have to switch the origin to my location. Other than that, it’s a good app. They were much better 4-5 years ago though. They’ve slowly made the user experience worse and worse (probably to try and encourage people to use their paid navigation). I’ve got close to 1 million miles behind me and trucker gps navigation is just a scam. Use Apple, Google, a Truck Atlas, and common sense

Not Worth the $$$

I paid for the diamond membership a year ago. I used the app pretty consistently up until my subscription expired last month and discovered it had quite a few routing flaws. For the year, I used a combination of this app, Google maps, and my Garmin GPS for RVs. I set up my Garmin for truck height, length and weight and got better routing through that than I did this app. More than once this app tried to take me down roads that would’ve put me in a bad way had I followed it. It’s difficult to submit these types of app errors if you can’t screenshot the routing issue at the time it happens, especially when you’re in an area with an ‘80 rig that an 80’ rig shouldn’t be in (e.g., most major metro areas). All you’re worried about at that time is getting free of that area without incident. In all honesty, I never reported the issues because it seemed pointless at the time. I couldn’t figure out how to recreate that part of the route and the options it was giving me during navigation. So, in the developer’s defense, they never had an opportunity to resolve the issues. But it happened enough times for me to lose confidence in the app for navigation purposes. I basically relied on my Garmin for routing, Google for traffic, and Trucker Path for truckstop, rest area, and Walmart locations. I did like that I could put in my route and my available hours and it would show me where I’d have to shut down. But that feature by itself is not worth $149 or $249. So, I’m sticking with what works. Oh yes, another very annoying part of this app is that even after you pay full boat on an annual subscription, they will continue to bombard you with their own ads for fuel discounts and whatnot. So, it’s definitely not “ad-free”.

Strong regrets

As much as I hate advertisements, I really regret how much I paid for the premium version of this app. Even after making that purchase, I still get the occasional pop-up ad and constantly bombarded with requests to answer questions about places I visited hours ago or what's happening at weighstations I'm passing, like I'm being enticed to unlawfully use my device while driving. These pop-ups block the view of navigation. Although there is an option to send a report about errors, it's not something that's easy to accomplish without pulling over... More than a few times the app has altered my route without notifying me. Just today I was 10 miles down the wrong highway before I realized it wasn't the route I had planned. Use it for a supplement, but if you rely on this app you will regret it.

Monthly charges to much instead of this i using Germin map

I’ve been using Trucker Path for a long time, and it’s one of the best apps for truck drivers. It helps with truck-safe routes, parking, weigh stations, fuel stops, and trip planning. The truck routing is very useful and has helped me many times on the road. However, one area that needs improvement is lane guidance. In many large U.S. cities and complex interchanges, there can be 5 or 6 lanes going in different directions. The app often doesn’t clearly show which lane a truck should stay in. Because of this, I frequently have to use Google Maps at the same time as Trucker Path just to make sure I’m in the correct lane. Using two navigation apps while driving can be stressful and distracting. If Trucker Path added better lane-by-lane guidance and clearer visual road signs before exits and interchanges, it would be a complete navigation solution for truck drivers. Overall, it’s a great app that I recommend to every truck driver, but improved lane guidance would make it even better. 🚛👍

Lots of improvements to be done & a little bit too pricey.

Good app and gps overall. Ineffective when unexpected things happen on the road. 30$/month for an app that has a lot of improvements is way too pricey. I’d cut subscription pricing by half. 15$/month would be ideal. Not enough users reporting on the app like Waze. App needs to grow and improve but it’s not bad. Can’t save more than one trip that’s planned at one time feature doesn’t work. When you plan a trip in advance and plan another it erases the first one. And the "planned trip" section doesn’t work.

Latest Update

Latest update has screwed the app. POI are showing weird distance remaining. Routing is taking longer time.

Honest review

The app is quite pricey, but they have done a great job improving the navigation part of the app. It still needs work on traffic delays.

Scam

⸻ This app doesn’t work properly over Wi-Fi, while Google Maps works fine. On iPad without cellular it’s basically useless. In just 4 days of use, it twice directed me to make turns that were impossible — once blocked by a median, and once straight through private property. These are not new restrictions; they’ve been in place for a long time. Yet I’m still paying to be their beta tester. On top of that, it constantly interrupts while I’m driving to ask about weigh stations instead of showing me the full map. Sometimes it even asks about a station on the opposite side of the highway, behind a median with trees! This feature should be optional in the settings. If I want to update information, I’ll do it myself. Overall: unreliable, frustrating, and not worth the cost.
