Definitely great but....Ok so I’m going to try and be quick. I absolutely love love love webtoon. I know fast pass is annoying because you have to wait so long but it really is worth it because there are literally so many amazing story’s for whatever you like. I was actually going to give this a 5 star review until it glitched. I’m reading this super great story called “My Deepest Secret” witch is soooooooooo good and probably one of my favorite story’s. But... I’ve been waiting seven days for the next one to come out because of fast pass and it’s felt like forever because I love this story and the episode before the one coming out ended at a cliffhanger so I was so excited. it said it would come out in like 8 house yesterday in the morning. I forgot about that and looked to read it today. I go and it says 7 days still. it didn’t come out it says I have to wait another seven days!!! I’m really mad about this because I don’t spend money on story’s and now I have to wait longer because of a stupid glitch the app had. If anyone is reading this who wants to get this app you totally should because it’s amazing and this is really the first time this has ever happened. I don’t like complaining really but I just wanted to write this mostly for the people who made the app because I am sad and mad about what happened and just really wanna read my book. Stop looking at reviews and just install webtoon!Wow! I can’t say enough good things about this app. I have been using webtoon daily since 2015 and while a lot of things have changed since then it is still my favorite app of all time. The amount of selection you have is fantastic and all the webtoons are completely free which is great considering similar apps have you pay per chapter and it’s incredibly expensive to read a whole story. The webtoons have amazing plot lines and impressive art and I can’t get enough of it. Recently webtoon started adding daily pass to completed stories and some ongoing series and I’ve seen a lot of complaints about this new feature. And while im not the biggest fan of it either considering you could read unlimited chapters for free without having to wait for a daily pass… you still can read everything for free so it’s not the worst thing in the world and it gives a way for the creators to be supported. In the past few years I’ve gone through periods where I wasn't doing the best mentally and reading was the only thing I had to look forward too (and served as an amazing distraction). Im really happy that this app exist and I will continue to read every day so if you’re still looking at the reviews STOP and just hit install. Ps. Don’t download, you’ll never get offI got emotionally attached to webtoons stories. It’s like your favorite movie ending on a cliff hanger and a part two never releasing. That’s how attached you are and how sad you get when something on webtoon is over. I’m not crediting webtoon too much but the artists more. Without the artists, what even is webtoon? I do think that it’s a fantastic app for any time, boredom, road trips, and any emotion, sad, happy, angry. Webtoon really just has everything. Now some of the ads are cringey but some of them also drag you into webtoon as well. I would not be here if it wasn’t for the down to earth ad. It dragged me into the webtoon loop and although I am extremely picky with my reading tastes, I’m reading around 3 comics on webtoon and I cannot stop. It’s impossible.. you will binge every episode and never stop. You will get attached to the stories and once they end you cry and spend 4 hours on safari searching up if another season is coming out to find absolutely no valuable information. You will believe that once your favorite series is done, every other series is trash even if it isn’t. It’s the pure definition of never judge a book by its cover except the rule is impossible to follow. I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed more of every series I read on here. PLEASE PLEASE! Had this app for years, now disappointedI have been using this app since about 2015, which seems pretty crazy to me. It’s always been the best web comic app out there. I have tried many others, and deleted them after they had changed things on the app that made them not-so-fun to use anymore. This is the app that didn’t make me upset and I could count on. Now things have changed. As you can see from other reviews, it is the daily pass system. Though I’m not a fan, I can understand why they would add it onto old completed comics. Annoying? Yes. Understandable? Also yes. HOWEVER, the whole “daily pass for comics that aren’t even complete yet” is making me incredibly upset. And it’s not just me. In comment sections on the comics that have this feature, many other users state the same thing. If the comic isn’t even complete yet, I don’t understand why they would make us use the daily pass. Because then it isn’t even a daily pass, sometimes you will have to wait much longer than that for the next episode. And if you want to go back and read old episodes to refresh what you may have forgotten in the story? Too bad, you can’t see that episode after 14 days unless you use the pass again. I am very sad and disappointed that my long time favorite app is going to slowly turn into the ones that I have deleted over the years. I truly hope that the development team fix this. Daily Pass ThoughtsOk so i deleted this app a long time ago because of the "daily pass" and before i deleted it i used to use it for multiple hours a day (over 4 usually). I know that the more time people spend on your app the more money you make. Correct? (genuine question) However, i completely forgot about the daily passes and i re-downloaded it cause i remembered all of the great stories on there. And disappointingly it was still there. I think that this has happened with many of your downloaders and perhaps you could change it so instead of a daily pass people would have to read or be on the app a certain amount of time to unlock more stories/chapters..? One pro to this is you would possibly be getting payed more for the time spent on the app. The first con to this idea is people would buy less coins to but chapters. However this doesnt cause much of a problem seeing as most people that use this app are teenagers who dont own a bank account. The second con is people would just sit there for hours and then use up all of their hours to read what they wanted to then delete the app. A solution to this is give them hours to spend on a chapter but give them a maximum amount of hours to earn each day (probably 10). However because of this you would also be earning money for how many hours they stay on the app. Please consider doing something with the daily pass but until anything happens with it i will be deleting this amazing app until further notice..Christina HesterVersion: 2.8.6

Amazing, but some major issues!I have been using webtoon for over a year now and I can’t imagine life without it. This amount of time, however, has exposed some of the most glaring issues with the app. The first being: Daily pass, daily pass was simply pretty annoying at first, because completed series would be impossible to binge, so I just wouldn’t. The issue has exploded now that brand new series are daily passing their series, I am not sure if that is something webtoon decides or the author but every time I see a new interesting series then click on in to see the daily pass sign, I immediately thing “the audacity!? Your series hasn’t even started and your already interrupting the flow of binging?!” I assume daily pass must have some kind of financial incentive for the author, which in theory I don’t mind, but it is just too inconvenient. I am at the point that I just won’t read any series that has daily pass. Second issue: battery drain, this one could be specific to me, but I’ve noticed that webtoon is extremely draining on my phone battery. My theory is that having a bunch of episodes rendered (all the ones opened while the app is opened, even the ones not being read at the moment) is taking up too much data processing power. Completed Webtoon Daily PassI used to be very happy with the app until they added Daily Pass to some Completed Webtoons. I like to go back to some completed Webtoons and re read and not have to face a cliff hanger or wait for next episode. Due to the new Daily Pass, i can only read 2 episodes a day (besides the first 6 few ones). I really don't enjoy this cause I've already read these webtoons and would like to be able to read them over and over again. For example, Orange Marmalade is an amazing Webtoon and has 119 Episodes. I've already read this story at least 5 times if not more. I recently came back to re-read and by doing the math, i have to wait 2 months to finish. It's just a way for the company to make more money and i'm a "free to play" reader and i'd rather spend my money on webtoon merch. Could webtoon please either remove daily pass or at least make the daily pass make the episode free after use instead of the episode being unavailable after 14 days? I know i'm not the only one upset about this. I may only have been on Webtoon for 2 and half years, but i still love to read the older ones and re read the ones which have already been completed. It's also inconvenient because right now a series could be near completion and i can read all the released episodes (non fast pass) whenever i want but after the "grace period" i won't be able to. Love the app, but I dislike the daily pass system.I’m no avid reader of Webtoons, I haven’t caught up with a lot of series. I do like the series I have read, though. However, I find it a little bizarre how coins and daily passes work. Until recently, you would pay for ten coins a dollar and that would give you access for two episodes. Now there are a few series with premiums on their coin passes, meaning it takes 7 now to read future installments of say, Lore Olympus. I dislike the fact that this inherently uneven number means you’re forced to buy more to read other series, but then what are you supposed to do with the remainders if they don’t add up to the totals of other series? It means you can’t spend excess coins that you’ve paid for. I digress, however. It’s a marginal part of the process that is inherently optional. The one thing I do dislike though, are the constraints that come with daily passes for certain series, and the fact that you have to pay to reread series you’ve already read, if they’ve ended after a certain period of time. I don’t know how much more it costs to read multiple episodes of a daily pass series, but as I understand it, it’s worth more than the average price of an episode for current series. Don’t get me wrong, artists should be paid for their work whether the series is current or not, but I think if you’re going to make people pay to read, they should be able to reread what they’ve already paid for..I'm very tired.Version: 2.10.6

Just two problemsI literally go on this app so much to reread a comic or check for new ones. I’ve been on here for almost four years and I’m absolutely obsessed with it! I haven’t paid for anything and I still enjoy it. There’s only one thing I absolutely hate and it’s the inappropriate replies to comments. The bots put them on almost any comment that doesn’t have any replies yet, especially on more popular webtoons. I suggest just not allowing people to post links in the comments, as nobody needs them anyways :) but if you just report them and move on (NEVER go to the sites), then webtoon is amazing! I also suggest not using your coins (free or bought) on a webtoon with fast pass, because you’ll have to either buy more coins and keep using them repeatedly (you literally have to spend for every chapter) or wait an extra week. Just use them on daily pass series :D Also about the daily pass series, I know a lot of people are complaining and I would also love to be able to go back on old stories, but I will say that it’s better than waiting a week (your daily pass activates every 24 hours). Great storiesI recently returned to this app to read again since i have so much free time since its spring break for me. The stories on here are wonderful, but there’s just a issue. I said i recently went back to this app and the reason why i left it for a while was because of the wait time to read an chapter that needs to be unlocked with coins. The wait time is just ridiculous, 68 days just to read an quick short chapter? I get that it’ll shorten as you read and wait for the chapter but just to read something i could read in a minute or two i would have to wait two months for. I know you can get a free pass or you could just buy coins but i really don’t want to waste money just for a few minutes of reading. Also free passes aren’t even that helpful for the same reason. I also think it’s quite unfair how you start with 0 coins. I think new readers should be provided with at least some coins. I get that you need money and readers to be a great app but it’s just the wait time to read a chapter. At this point some people are just gonna go online just to read a free version of a story without any pay or wait time. I know there’s plenty of stories to read but i’m not quite so interested in most stories. So i really focus on the stories i need to wait on. Daily pass?!I absolutely love Webtoon. I honestly can’t imagine my life without it now because these stories have made me laugh, cry, and even get angry. It’s a really positive environment. When free pass came I had no mind to it. I actually really liked it because it was a nice way to be able to read episodes that haven’t been release yet! But then came the daily passes for some completed series. I don’t like to complain but daily pass is just so annoying because I can’t reread my favorite completed series over and over again. For example the completed series Winter Woods. It is SUCH a good series and I can no longer reread it as much as I wanted to. With the daily pass it would take MONTHS or WEEKS to finish the series again, and not only that but the episodes you unlock from daily pass are only for a limited amount of time. Also there’s another issue I wanted to bring to light. There are these users that keep going around in the comment sections of Webtoons, and they post links to innapropriate sites or viruses that’s really dangerous. I know better than to click on them, and I report those comments when I get the chance, but of course there are also young people who go on Webtoon and might click on these links because they might not know any better. I love this app but...I absolutely love this app. The comics here are amazing. I have been using this app since 2017. Since then I've read many other types of comics. I don't mind having to wait a week to read another chapter, considering how hard the artist is working each day to upload the next chapter. They also have completed series which I do enjoy because there isn't any cliffhanger. Now, webtoon has changed a lot in a good way and in a bad way too. Now there is a fast pass which I don't mind. I haven't purchased coins because I don't feel like I need to. Like I said I don't mind waiting a week. People have their right to spend their hard-earned money on whatever they want. There are also events where webtoon gives free coins that I have used. But recently I've had my first dilemma with this app. It has to do with the series that are already completed. Before you were able to read them freely as you like, but now you have to wait for a day to read the next chapter. I don't mind having to wait but doesn't mean I have to. When unlocking a chapter it's only for a limited amount of days. I think that's a bit too much and not necessarily fair to people. I am pleased that the app is growing and gaining the popularity it deserves. But because the app is growing they are taking advantage of it and doing unnecessary ”updates”. Latest “Video to Watch” Feature is a Bit of a Turn OffTo start, I’d like to say that I absolutely love this app (especially during quarantine). There are so many stories out there to read and all of them are amazing. Genres range from superhero to fantasy and romance to comedy. I’d also like to address one of the top reviews on the app by some 12 year old complaining about having to wait a week for a comic to update. That’s because the writers and artists are making these LIVE. The only ones that are already made are on fast pass and at that point it’s entirely up to you as to whether or not you want to be patient. Not only that, but WEBTOON occasionally has coin events in which case you can get coins for free. However, I should really get to the point of this review. Lately, there was an option for small artists to gain something along the lines of fast pass (fast pass is only an option for more popular comics) in which the reader watches an ad and then they can read the next chapter early. I wouldn’t mind it since it supports those smaller artists, but it just doesn’t work which is VERY frustrating! I click to play the ad and then it says “couldn’t load the ad. Please try again later.” It’s been doing this for 4 days! At this point I may as well wait until it’s available without the ad! So please please please fix it! I just want to read the next episodes of Million Dollar Bride and Love n Life..Twilight Princess Fan lolVersion: 2.4.7

Great but could be amazingOkay I love love webtoon, like it has so many great stories in my preferred genre, and there’s a wide variety of other genres to explore, but oh my god is the pay-per-episode thing insane. Like I get we live in a choking, corporatist/capitalist society that thrives on squeezing every ounce of profit it can get out of you, but I feel like this approach is just driving customers away. Especially when it’s not THAT much harder to just pirate the content. Manta is excellent in this regard, charging only a $5 flat rate for unlimited reading, but y’all don’t even have to do that much! You could just make it an option, like “pay per chapter OR pay $X/month for unlimited reading”. you could even make it something crazy like $50/month and i bet a lot of committed users would still buy it. Or even just some kind of loyalty program for regular customers. I’d personally feel a lot better using it if I knew I wouldn’t have to commit to breaking the bank every time I want to start a new series. Still, awesome app overall! In particular, I absolutely love love LOVE the commenting feature! It makes you feel part of a community of fans and allows you to vent and go crazy with people who are feeling the same way you are. Daily Pass???I don’t want to hate on anything that would get more revenue for creators... But daily pass is just ridiculous! If a WEBTOON is completed, it’ll get Daily pass slapped on it and once again readers are unable to read it unless they read one chapter a day ( which is all I get for the pass ) or spend more coins. I’m a broke student, and even if I did have money I unfortunately have other things I could spend it on that would be more permanent. From my understanding of Daily pass, you don’t get to keep the episode free? So why would I spend coins on it if I’m basically just renting it for fourteen days? It doesn’t make sense, and it’s really unappealing for those fans that want to binge read without having to wait for updates. WEBTOON apparently doesn’t understand the joy of reading a finished comic in one sitting, otherwise they wouldn’t have added this feature. I won’t spend coins on it, and because of that I most likely will never finish reading, or even start reading, a lot of good comics that I could help support with my poor means by giving a like here and a comment there. The policy changes really hurt a lot of comics and creators, and I guess I understood why they did it ( for all the children downloading apps with age limits ) but Daily pass is like shooting themselves in the foot! Downloaded content doesn’t workThis is a great app. I’ve been using it for a couple of years now and have spent coins, done events, you name it. However this is all usually when I am in my home or on a wifi/cellular connection. I recently went out of the country and was thrilled with the fact that I could download episodes which most other comic sites and apps don’t have. However, while on airplane mode it wouldn't let me open the app saying I didn’t have a connection. Of course I knew I didn’t have connection due to the fact I was hundreds of feet up in the air and on airplane mode. But I also knew that I downloaded, checked, and rechecked once I had landed that I had not one, but two separate webtoons downloaded with over 40 episodes each. What is the point of being able to download stuff for “offline” if you cant actually access the app while offline. This was a serious damper on the trip seeing as I thought I had at least a couple of hours of reading material prepped and was unable to even open the app. While there are some other issues with the overall running of the app (daily pass on completed webtoons and the like) this is the one that compelled me into writing a review because it is seriously the most detrimental to reading. Great, but just one thing..This app is amazing, and I love all of the comics. All of the stories are unique and different in their own way. I love it.. buuuut... there’s this new thing that’s called a “Webtoon Policy,” and you can only read if you’re 18 or older.. which I understand, but what if you ARE 18 years or older? I’ve read some of the comments on one of the comics I was reading, and they said “This episode isn’t even inappropriate.” I’ve missed like 10 episodes because of this “Webtoon Policy.” Before I knew this, I was reading all of my comics thinking that I wasn’t missing anything, and the author was just remonding you that the comic has inappropriate language or something, but today was the day (after about a year and a half.. I think) that I figured out that I was missing out on episodes because of a Webtoon Policy. I even tried switching to one of my other accounts, and I still couldn’t read a bunch of episodes. I didn’t get this app to miss out on books I love to read. Something I don’t understand is.. why can some of the people reading the book see it, but some of them can’t? It makes no sense and is NOT fair. Webtoon, I love the app, but please fix this problem. AMAZING except…I think the whole only getting a chapter a week thing is ridiculous. I mean, if I buy/rent/borrow a book, I’m most likely going to read at least several chapters in each sitting. I get access to the WHOLE book, and can read at whatever pace I want, without having to worry about paying money I honestly don’t have on each chapter if I want it sooner. I think that a better method of the creators getting money that would improve a lot of people’s opinions about this app would be for consumers to pay a reasonable (for both parties) fee up front, and then get unlimited access to everything. OR you could have to pay a subscription fee each month/year/whatever like how a streaming service works. OR chapters would be available once a day. That would be a MUCH better schedule, if it can’t be unlimited access. THAT BEING SAID I do love this app. Seriously, having so much access (though much more limited than I’d like *side eye*) to different stories that I can enjoy, is really wonderful. I’ve been using the website for various stories for about a year, needlessly putting off getting the app, but now I finally have it, and have since found many more stories, all of which I am absolutely loving. Daily pass…Ok I love WEBTOON, I’ve had it for 7 years give or take. You can have the app and enjoy hundreds of comics basically free, and if a author drops a big enough cliffhanger, you fast pass. I think this is great, I don’t mind waiting a week and authors need the money for all these great stories, I really don’t mind. BUT… then they added daily pass… and that is the only thing keeping me from doing five stars because I think it’s kinda stupid. Sure, I get that authors and WEBTOON need the cash, but I’m pretty certain it would have done fine without it, considering all the comics on the platform. But now there’s all these awesome completed comics that I bet basically no one is reading now cause they aren’t gonna spend however much for these daily passes… or wait and spend YEARS waiting for all the episodes to unlock. No one does that. If people are looking for completed comics, they want something to binge, not another waiting game. Almost PerfectI say almost, because Webtoons does ONE thing wrong every single time no matter how many complaints they get. They ALWAYS sent push notifications with spoilers for really good/popular comics. It doesn’t happen very often, but it’s always when a really important moment happens in a storyline. I wish they would stop, because I really hate spoilers. Asides from that, the app is wonderful. I’ve been using it and actively spending money as well for a couple years now and I’ve been introduced to so many amazing authors and their stories. The range of art and genres is so fresh and new. 99% of the stories are updated once a week, so it gives me something to look forward to everyday because they don’t all update on the same day. It’s all up to the author. I love knowing that I’m directly supporting these artists/writers and their dreams. The app is incredibly easy to navigate, super organized from setting a push notifications for the stories you care about whereas you can still see every story you’re subscribed to regardless of the push note, on the same page. It never glitches, and it also allows some brief animation and soundtracks too. This app is going to get much more popular over time, I’m sure of that. How can it not? What’s up with daily pass?I don’t understand what happened. I was with WEBTOON before all the fast/daily pass stuff and it was fine. Then came along fast pass. Okay besides that fact that you will have to wait 3 weeks if you fast pass all the episodes and the “FAST PASS GANG WHERE YOU AT??” comments, everything was fine. But then came along daily pass. I was going to reread Days of Hana when all of a sudden I scroll down a few episodes and I see this ridiculous thing called daily pass. And I get about 2 free episodes of the series a day. I moved on to see if Bastard had it as well (I never finished Bastard and I heard it was good so this genuinely upset me) and I saw the same thing. I now realize that I only get about 2 free daily pass thingies a day. So now it makes things frustrating because I can’t even binge read good WEBTOONs that are finished because of this ridiculous system. It’s discouraging for new readers to want to finish it because it will take them around 2 months to even finish an ALREADY FINISHED webtoon, and it’s not like there’s a system I noticed to get extra daily passes (I don’t even know what happens if you run out of passes because I never used them). I love you but hate the new policyWebtoon is the best app that u can read amazing free comics the authors are incredible! And the so are the stories they wright and illustrate! I’ve always loved it ! And always will BUT -_- ugh we all know THE NEW RULE!!! okay I understand webtoon is 9+ but have you seen some of the comics? ;-; there clearly 18+ and the new rule is making it hard for some Authors to continue their story’s! And there having to go to Tapas(and some Authors can’t) and the readers are also getting extremely mad at this rule and eventually webtoon is not gonna have 5 stars but 1 all were asking is to plz change the rule ! Great App But What’s With Daily Pass?A year back, I would’ve given this app a 5/5 stars. It used to be flawless and perfect in my eyes. Until this year when I finally decided to read ‘Days of Hana’ again. As a person who had followed the series often and didn’t have an account, I enjoyed checking back to see if it had updated or not. I stopped reading it when it finished, deciding to see what other Webtoon I could read. Now, in quarantine, I finally decided to read ‘Orange Marmalade’! I had heard that it was a great story and wanted to read it, though when I went to it, I saw this red sign above the episodes and (I believe) an alarm clock of some sort, I may be wrong though. I didn’t pay any attention to it until I hit the part where it said I couldn’t read anymore. It was so strange! What was it and why was it asking me to wait another day to read it and spend coins on it? I’ve read countless completed Webtoons and this is completely unreasonable. Why would you charge someone to read a completed Webtoon? Is it the Webtoon creator’s choice or is it that Webtoon chooses which one to put Daily Pass on? Or is it all of them? The New Policy Has To Go.Im going to be clear and give my honest opinion about the app WEBTOON. Starting off by saying how much I love this app and all the different types of stories that are drawn out and written by some amazing authors. My experience has been stupendous. Everything was going great until this New Policy of taking down any NSFW content off of WEBTOON. It has made many authors take down their work which obviously took many hours and days to complete, and it honestly ruins the reading experience. Ever since people started reporting some stories that have NSFW content in them, this new policy appeared. I honestly want to say that the people who reported and obviously found the chapter or the images inappropriate, should have just exited out of the page. I mean it obviously says that the story will have mature content and if you want to keep reading or not, so why continue if you have been warned? There are many other types of genres that you can read so why not go and do that instead of reporting a story for your own selfishness just because it has mature content (which tells you beforehand). For Sure Love WEBTOON but not the new policyWEBTOON is definitely the app I would go to for comics that I love reading (on a daily basis). The WEBTOON authors are absolutely amazing and so is the app itself. At first there doesn’t seem to be a problem with anything really. But the new policy for mature content is probably the main reason why I’m only giving this a 3-star rating. I feel as if it doesn’t seem fair for WEBTOON authors who love posting their comics on here feel less appreciated when their comics are taken down because of only a bit of NSFW content. Not only does it not seem fair it’s also not letting the readers enjoy the authors comics and stories. The readers won’t be able to look forward to the authors updates or comics because they were taken done for containing a bit of mature content. While, yes, it may be inappropriate for younger readers who have downloaded this app and wants to read/enjoy comics online. Why the coins?I seriously don’t understand why Webtoon started this. When I was in school, this was my favorite app, but now I’d rather not even bother. There’s never an -all bad- change, but this isn’t a great part of your change. Why would Someone wait one day at a time, to read chapters of stories that are sometimes just 20 words? That makes no sense. I’d rather just not read them at all. Other people clearly feel this way. It took me a quick google search trying to understand why you began this daily pass thing, and it’s all complaints sprinkled with some generalized understanding that winds up still being complaints! Amazing but..It’s an amazing app worth the wait, but very annoying. I had this app before the coins want the no coins back. Here’s some fix’s read with ads get coins from ads or no adds and just free read. I would love to be able to read as much as I want got very into a book but have to get coins. Also it was 47!! Chapters in don’t let me read 47 chapters than tell me I need to get coins that take forever to get or wait 10 plus days. An Amazing AppI have been using this app for so long and I can safely say it’s one of the most amazing apps for reading comics out there. If you read a review saying that you have to pay to read, you don’t. They just added a coin shop to let people read the Webtoon faster. Basically, if you pay for a certain amount of coins, you can read some of the episodes faster. If not, you can wait the usual time and it will still update like normal. It’s a little bit hard to explain, but the bottom line is that you don’t have to pay to read the new episodes, it’s just an option to read them sooner. At first it was good...This app was recommended from a friend and I tried it, and I was like WOW! This is amazing! I read this comic called True Beauty and I really recommend you to read it! The art was amazing and the story was really interesting! I literally speeded through like 86 episodes but then, on 87, it said I have to either pay 5 coins wich is 99 cents for wait a week! I love it! However....Welp, here I go re editing my review from before for a second time. I love webtoon. The content it puts out is phenomenal and the app itself I find easy to use. However, one pro I always had for webtoon over any other comic app was that you didn’t have to pay to read comics. I support the fast pass system(although my wallet hates me) because you’re paying to read ahead. Kind of like crunchy roll where you pay to have premium and are able to not have to wait for new episodes. But now there’s something I have an issue and that’s called “Daily Pass”. This makes it so you can no longer binge read completed series without having to pay. Take Girls of Wilds for example. I started reading that before daily pass was a thing, made it to episode 15 before life hit me hard and I needed to take a break from a lot of stuff. Minor Bug, but overall love itSo, I’ve been using webtoon for about 6 - 7 years now since I was introduced to it and have fallen in love with it. From the very beginning I’ve been addicted to the story “I love yoo” which is a very slow burn drama filled romance. You see I have two devices an IPad and a Samsung phone that I use webtoon on. Since about last week I’ve noticed whenever I try to get on webtoon on my iPad it’ll say “We are experiencing server issues, please try again later.” And it’ll give me the option to either close or retry again. But neither of those options help me and this has been happening ever since. So I figured maybe I need to update it, so I did but nothing changes it still says and does the same thing. But on my phone, I’m able to go in and out webtoon without a problem. I’ve tried everything I could think of but nothing is working and this only seems to be happening on my iPad. Amazing! With a problem or two..So, I really love Webtoon! I read everyday and always find new stories to read. The authors write so well and the events to get free coins are extremely convenient for people who aren’t allowed to buy them with money. Except.. I have two problems. My first problem is Daily pass for completed Webtoons. When I found out that Yumi’s Cells was getting daily pass like other of my favorite completed Webtoons, I was really sad. I don’t know if Webtoon understands that readers like to go back to their favorite completed stories. Having to wait until 10:00pm everyday just to read two episodes kind of ruins the reading experience. Especially if the series you want to reread is longer than others. Tired of seeing sexual content when browsingHello! I don’t usually write reviews for apps, and as much as I love WEBTOON and the artist’s creations, I will not be praising their work in this review. However, I do want to talk about my inability to control what appears in my recommendations or “for you” page. For new people looking to download: basically the new policy just bans any inappropriate content since the app is supposed to be for 9+. Super snazzy I wish I could rate 4.9 but things have to be saidI love this app, it brings me so much joy and happy vibes. The Daily Pass system is a problemThis app is fantastic, there are so many talented creators and interesting comics to read, and the occasional coin event is a great idea for those not willing to pay. On that note, the Daily Pass system is a really unfortunate development that harms authors and readers more than helps. The fact that you need to pay to access past episodes rather than future ones (Fast Pass, which is great) is a poor strategy, as the app is mostly frequented by teens without bank accounts of their own, and others might just not think it’s worth it. Authors end up losing readers because the people who want to read something they’ve read before or a newly featured completed series have to pay money or restrict themselves to one episode per day, which is an unsatisfying reading experience if they plan to binge. Two examples of incredible stories that use the Daily Pass are “Pigpen” by one of the arguably best authors on the site, and “Refund High School”, a widely read and loved fantasy. They are both complete, but now require a Daily Pass per episode after 8 or so, taking the possibility of re-reading or binging the entire series’ - I was lucky enough to be able to read “Refund High School” as the episodes were still coming out, but I know others weren’t and will miss out on the charming story and gorgeous art..Iv.PennVersion: 2.5.10

Problems with daily passWebtoon is honestly an increasingly place to discover so many incredible authors and the different series that they create. I especially have to give a shout-out to Lore Olympus and Unordinary, two series that I always eagerly await the next chapter of whenever I am all caught up on them. The only real problem webtoon has right now is that it had implemented this daily pass system where you can only read one new chapter of a series a day and if you want to read more you can use coins you buy with real money to unlock more chapters. I believe this is a completely valid system for webtoon to implement into series that have been fully completed, but recently they have also started to implement it into series that are not fully completed or even some series that have just started to be uploaded onto webtoon. Reading some of the comments on the different series that have had daily pass put on them it seems most people agree that this doesn’t make any sense as limiting how much you can read of a new series before having to pay more to read more both makes current fans of that series lose interest in it and deters new fans from trying to get into the series as only getting to read a few chapters a day feels like too much of a hassle..Cena_62Version: 2.10.9

I’ve heard of the policy.Now, I consider myself to be fairly new to WEBTOON, but not to where I haven’t heard of the policy. The policy where comics that have NSFW content in it aren’t allowed to be posted in WEBTOON. You’re making people hate your appI just found out about this today when I was going to go read Girls of the Wild. I also keep reading comments on Reddit about “supporting the artists” on multiple platforms and forums which are very irritating. No one is saying they don’t want to support the artists or feel like they shouldn’t have to. Literally no one is saying that at all when bringing up the real issue of these daily passes. What we are saying is that this feature and its functions are completely unreasonable. Girls of the Wild has 260 episodes and only 14 for free without daily passes. Which means you have to buy coins for 246 episodes. You would need over 1,000 coins and would be spending over $100 for a story you would once again have to purchase if you wanted to reread again after 14 days. Thats blatant robbery. You can support the artist and also not get scammed at the same time. A one time ,fixed price would make more sense if this is the road they want to go down. We typically only make one time purchases for any other content we consume unless we are talking monthly subscriptions (my point is again proven with one time yearly subscriptions). Used to be the best now I can’t stand the platformI’ve been a webtoon user for many many years. Pre-cash grab stuff! I would be on webtoon for hours reading completed and non completed webtoons however since daily passes were launched in 2019ish I have no longer been able to use webtoon the same way I have before. Poorly designed and such annoying ad loadingI have no idea how this app is so highly rated. Even though phones with notches have been out for almost 7 years at this point, they have not updated it to add a safe area above the comics, so they load with the notch or cutout blocking the content of the comic. All they need to do to fix it is add some dead space above the comic so you can see everything when scrolled all the way up. And then when you load a new page the UI appears over the comic and then it takes a second to disappear when you tap, so I always end up tapping and nothing happens and then I tap and then it goes away and comes back. Then when you scroll to the bottom of a comic, the button to go to the next comic is there, but then just as you go to click it, an ad loads in and pushes the button down, so i end up accidentally clicking the ad EVERY SINGLE TIME. And there’s no way to pay and remove ads so I just have to keep accidentally clicking them on every single page. And there are some actions like scrolling to the bottom of the comments to load the next comic that end up triggering by accident, making it overall frustrating to use. It is usable, but keeping up with all the UI quirks is draining, so i cannot get immersed in actually reading the comics and end up reading less than i otherwise would..LaudedSwanVersion: 3.2.3

Daily passes ruin the experienceWebtoon introduces daily passes awhile back which means you can only read one or two episodes of a completed story a day.
