Need new filters!Although I liked new features such as personality types, it would helpful to be able to filter by personality type and other things such as love languages or even if they are gold/platinum/etc. members. For some people who take personality types, we have an idea of who we might me compatible with and could be a good place to start. It’s good to have in mind when going through profiles and have more nuanced filters that can inshallah help us find a spouse. If we already paying, I would like to narrow down my pool by people that might be more compatible! Also please consider a ranking feature (for self) where we can sort through matches and profiles to help us categorize profiles we like and interested in. Having a long list of swipes makes it hard to figure out what we would like and potential people we would like to match with. I feel like the telegram feature doesn’t really work and I would like to find/match with people who are also active and actively looking for someone. Got MarriedI met my husband on Salaam around the last week of Ramadan of 2020, May. I remember being so mindful of Laylatul Qudr night and praying to Allah to guide me and I kid you not, I had the feeling it was time to go on the app. That week I started speaking to my husband. It’s alrightThis app is alright. There is some decent people on here and I’ve gotten to go on dates with a lot of cool people. My biggest complaint and this can be spoken on both the men and women on here. It’s hard to find anyone on here who is even remotely serious about a long term relationship. Match disappearedI was matched with someone that it was finally going well with then their profile completely disappeared. Not showing up in my unmatched tab either and wouldn’t make sense for them to block me with the way it was going. Another profile I was matched with but was about to unmatch disappeared the exact same way. All in the same way weekend. No way two separate people decided to block me back to back within a weekend when no one else has even they unmatched me or vice versa. It’s ok app, and doesn’t solve woman problem of passivenessThe app is fine if you’re premium user and can access all it’s features. I overall hate dating apps because it’s so hard to get matches that lead to face to face meetup, but that’s not Salaams fault, it’s women don’t put their 100%, they must think guys here are not serious and looking for hookup. If I just wanted a hookup I would just use Tinder. I wish they came up with ways to make women more proactive and engaging here. For example, if women get so many matches, only reveal them profiles that are proactive and premium only and only 5 profiles per day limit. If they get 50 matches per day that’s overwhelming to them and they act passive and eventually give up. AlhamdulilahI’ve had this app for a while. One thing that I’ve noticed with all dating apps is that there is a paradox of choice. There are room for improvementAs far as app design, it’s pretty comprehensive. Although many of the cool features are only available with premium account. As far as achieving the purpose of meeting someone, currently the app doesn’t adequately represent all ethnic groups. In particular, there aren’t sufficient black members besides those from Somali community. If you are of Paki, Bangladesh, Indian, Egyptian, Moroccan, Syria, & Palestine backgrounds. You will likely find a match due to the adequate representation. I would recommend Minder to market the app more to the black communities to get more representation. First ImpressionsDay one of using the app I’ve noticed it’s super glitchy. Took me quite a few attempts to write my profile because it wouldn’t save at times and sometimes just freeze up. Other times I would finish typing several paragraphs saving it and going back to find nothing was ever saved. So after finishing up my profile finally I went in to the search option to find some potential matches. It’s got the industry standard swipe left/heart or heart react vs X. So you can only filter your search for free based on age, distance or faith sect. All the other filters are a premium option. So once someone likes your profile, you can’t see who they are until you upgrade to a premium option. At least some of the other apps only charge for certain things like messaging after you receive several free messages. I’m not against paying for a good service but for the love of god give me something to work with. 1: glitchy app 2: not many filters offered for free 3: can’t see who wants to chat with you. All in an all I’m not impressed with the app and not sold to upgrade. Hopefully the developers for this app can take a long hard look at their model because I honestly wanted to like this app at first. Money HungryAs Muslims it’s really surprising to see how money hungry this app has gotten. It’s like they have no intent of actually helping Muslims find their spouse. I’ve had a better experience of talking to people on non Muslim apps like hinge. The issue is that they have gotten so money hungry. The price for premium exponentially goes up and never fully works. Honest opinionI have been on this app on and off now for a year and honestly I can say I have experienced the most disrepesct from men on this app than I have in real life. I get judged based on my Islamic sect even when the guys have their chosen Islam flavor as “any muslim” which makes no sense. Needs improvement or some type of makeoverI’m giving this app 2 stars because I feel somewhat bad people who created this app probably had good intentions and were willing to make the effort to help Muslims find significant others in an increasing digital world. Cash grabAs someone who gets tons of matches, let me tell you how poorly the app is designed. Firstly, if you’re not a premium user you’ll most likely find yourself swiping on 100s of accounts that haven’t been active for months, it even displays that. However, since there is no way to filter these people, you end up wasting swipes. Even after you get premium, you still have to swipe over an absurd amount of people who just haven’t used the app in months which is ultimately a waste of money/time . The app doesn’t block anyone for inappropriate behavior! Kinda Scam and not useful - Don’t throw your money hereI purchased the Diamond subscription, but instead of getting more access, I was seeing fewer people. Even with this premium subscription, you have to pay extra every time you want to view the list of people you've already swiped on. They only let you see new users if someone joins after your last visit. This is honestly frustrating—how can they charge $144 for a subscription and still ask for an additional $14 every time you want to recheck your swipes? It feels like a scam, not a legitimate business. Also, if you don't keep paying $14 to see the list again, they won't show you any more potential matches, especially if you've applied filters. Deceiving appThe biggest issue with this app is you won’t match with barely anyone unless you pay the full subscription. You will notice that once you pay, the “Liked me” will show matches that liked you even though they never popped up in your match feed to begin with. So don’t waste your time downloading this then swiping right unless you are willing to pay. Even then the match rate algorithm is hacked to show your profile to only 5-10% of the people you swipe on, similar to how Tinder does it. You can always test this out with friends and see how one of your profile will never show to the other. Another issue is although this app used to be very glitchy and they did fix some of that, many messages still don’t send and you can also test this feature out with a friend. Frustrating and inconsistent verification processMy profile keeps getting rejected despite my selfie matching my photos. The only difference is I’m wearing glasses in my selfie. The photos are clearly still me. Tech is glitchyI have been on the app for ~6 months. There are a number of issues with the tech. You are supposed to get matches in real time, but apparently there was a backlog of more than 3 months for no reason and i lost out on some great matches. Every time i match with someone new and I message them the app crashes. Often times when i have new matches, i swipe left they still are in my queue and i have to swipe left 2-3 times on them to finally get them out of my match queue. The queue doesn’t automatically refresh, i have to go in a random chat i already started and then go back to the messages page to have the queue refresh. On top of all that there are a number of fake profiles and married men with profiles. I have personally reported maybe a dozen fake profiles in the last few weeks. Minder VeteranThis app is male-centric. It is fill with creeper men who send inappropriate messages. When one does not reply, they report your profile to app admin. Without an investigation and any warning the admin will “ban and block” you. This has happened to me as a paying Premium member, as well as a member without paid subscription. In addition. I was stalked for 2 months by a match who i was in touch with off the app for 5 days before blocking him. He contacted me from multiple sims after the initial block, and then 3 weeks later called me from a local landline until i picked up to tell me he was in my city. I escalated this issue to Minder admin. They did nothing, their reply was that the profile he had on their app seemed “normal” and that there was nothing that they could do.
