Brave Browser & Search Engine App Comments & Reviews

Brave Browser & Search Engine Positive Reviews

Help pleaseSo the past couple of days or so suddenly I cannot open my browser. Brave is my default browser and any time I click the icon it acts like it’s going to open it flashes up and then disappears like nothing ever happened. When I tried to click support here it tried to take me to my browser and exact same thing happened. I’ve shut my phone down and turned back on still happens, I even just updated my phone and it’s still happening. Can anyone please tell me what’s going on and how to fix this please? Thanks Now I see other people with this same problem and one answer was to update to 1.51 but mine is already updated to that and this is still happening. Please help or I’m going to have to change all of my settings and everything that makes brave my default browser because it’s just closing things out and I need to be snide to get the internet. Please help. Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I wrote something a few days ago. Now I see a lot more reviews saying this same thing that it won’t open at all. The problem is besides the obvious….. I have a lot of passwords stored in my brave settings and now not only can’t I use my regular browser, but I’m unable to get into any of the websites who’s passwords I’ve stored in brave. This is beginning to become a much bigger problem and I would think that by now with so many others in this same situation that there would be some sort of solution posted by now. Please help. I feel like my life is on hold until this gets resolved. Thank you.Version: 1.51

Best browser I’ve ever usedI have spent years flip flopping between Safari and Chrome. I’ve never been truly happy with either. I tried Firefox Focus and was disappointed by the lack of features and the number of ads I was still seeing. I figured if Mozilla couldn’t manage good ad blocking with a barebones app specialized for the purpose, ad blocking had to just be a pipe dream on mobile, so my expectations for Brave were not very high. I am pleased to say that Brave has thoroughly impressed me. Brave delivers a clean, stable, and snappy browsing experience unlike anything I’ve experienced with other browsers, along with the perfect amount of features and controls. The only ads I’ve seen in Brave are the ones by Brave, which are so unobtrusive and easily dismissed that I almost forget they are there, and even those can be turned off without a fuss for a totally ad-free experience. Excellent app. Definitely recommend. One suggestion: I would love to see the “clear data” function be accessible in the “…” menu, so I can clear my data and history with 2-3 taps instead of 5 taps and scrolling (I counted). This is a feature made easily accessible in browsers like Firefox Focus and DuckDuckGo, and being a privacy focused browser, it is strange that Brave does not offer similar ease of access to this function. I don’t think it needs to be front-and-center with a dedicated button on the main interface like in DuckDuckGo or Firefox Focus, but it shouldn’t be buried 3 menus deep either..Version: 1.26

Excellent Private BrowserIt’s an extremely fast and private browser. I love the AI built into the search engine which makes things very easy to look up. I love the different wallpapers that come up every single time I open up a new tab. Very colorful and inviting. Very user-friendly interface. I use it across my phones and laptops. Built-in password protection is really nice. It does offer a VPN for $9.99 a month but since it’s only built into the browser and can’t be used for other services like streaming, I don’t know how much value that would be for the price, since there are other VPNs for the same price that cover all the bases. But It’s very fast and responsive. Way faster than Google or Safari. I noticed when I searched something in this engine it doesn’t appear on my socials in advertisement so I know it’s working. My only thing that I noticed is when I’m looking up stores/places of business in my area, (I obviously have to enter exactly where I’m looking bc it doesn’t track your location) clicking on the place of business doesn’t bring up photos or reviews or too much details. So sometimes I have to go to Safari if I wanna check out a venue and see photos. Not sure if maybe it’s just user error, and there’s a way to see that so I’m gonna give it five stars regardless. Overall it’s an excellent app. It’s my main browser. Keep up the great work guys!.Version: 1.78

Http compatibility and missing video playerIssue 1: Http compatibility: On the iOS mobile browser version of Brave, there’s a function that lets you enable or disable a forced switch from http to the more secure https Protocol. However, the function that lets you disable it doesn't work. Even if you slide to have it disabled, webpages are still forcefully redirected to use https. The issue is that some websites are http only and will not function without that protocol. Even if shields in general are turned off, webpages still redirect to using https. It would be nice if the function to disable the switch was worked upon, or if a reason for why it can’t work is stated. I could accept if it’s just an iOS thing that nothing can be done about on Brave’s end. Issue 2: Missing video player: Some video players are completely missing when trying to play a video through the Brave browser. There’s just a black square where the player should be. To check whether it was a website issue or a Brave issue, I tested it by going to the exact same website and watching the same exact video through Brave, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. It worked on both chrome and Firefox, but not with Brave. I then turned off the shields to see if it work work then. Still a black square. I don’t know all too much about web development or what the specifics are, but I know that I love using Brave, and would love to see this issue resolved, if possible. Thank you!.Version: 1.66.2

Privacy, Speed, Innovation, and Earnings all in oneTL;DR: Best browser ever, I regularly recommend to users of all technical competency The built-in ad/tracker+more blocking gives you an out-of-the-box experience which accounts for what would take hours of cumulative configuration in greasemonkey, exception lists, etc. in Chrome/Firefox. This is awesome in and of itself, but this is more significant than just improving the experience of a page; it significantly improves the load time of pretty much any page, it maintains your privacy, and in the case of media streaming it contributes to uninterrupted service. Innovation wise, it’s hard to even think of an example of analogous browsers, nothing is so far along, especially in stable releases. Tor is built in, and much more bearable for regular usage with faster load times. Obviously it’s not a replacement for VPN, but a VPN isn’t a replacement for TOR either, and take a look at VPN⁰ for Brave’s research on a solution in that space. Other great built in is IPFS, which is sure to be an important part of the ecosystem in time. Those are, in my opinion, still largely inconsequential in comparison to the integrated crypto-wallet. You make crypto for BAT enabled ads if you turn on that feature. This is a metamask fork with integration over Uphold, allowing for fiat on-ramp funding of the wallet, which makes integration with dApps much easier. They do regular research into all kinds of new approaches into all things privacy too, keeping them on the cutting edge..Version: 1.14.3

Sold on Brave.Disclosure: I work in IT and do software development. I am super picky about what browsers I use. Just going off of my experience on desktop I had to try it on the iOS platform. It did not disappoint. You can still use Brave rewards to view privacy-centric ads to support creators - or, if you wish, you can earn and transfer these to your desktop browser to keep. It’s awesome they give you options. Knowing that one of the cofounders of Mozilla, developer of another great browser called Firefox, I had to try Brave out. On the PC it has done a fantastic job blocking ads. Especially ads that are malicious in nature and try to sneak dropper malware on your system. The iOS edition is just as good if you take into account that it is on iOS and thus there isn’t a lot of wiggle room. Given how difficult it is to get adblocking into Safari for the average user and how extensions aren’t even a thing on Chrome, Brave is the obvious choice if you want easy adblocking without the extra work. Not only that, but it’santi-tracking mechanisms are the best in the class. In a world where big tech is becoming more omnipotent we deserve to be in control of our data and privacy, and Brave absolutely delivers on that. They took the idea of being for the common users privacy from big tech from Mozilla and went further with this browser platform. Switch from Chrome and Edge on all platforms and you won’t be disappointed. Plus, you even can opt in to Brave rewards and earn free crypto. Without sacrificing privacy. That’s the way to do it. I’m a techie privacy freak, so a privacy centric product from a privacy centric company is a total 👍🏻 for me..Version: 1.41.1

Love This!Hi Brave, I really love your app, so take this kindly please. Why not make LEO a local AI, trained on your own data? I think making us subscribe is silly, when DeepSeek is complimentary. Worst case, make it a one time fee. But I think you offer a wonderful service to the world, and the LEO AI might need some improvements in terms of how you generate your income. I think if you use other people's data, they should either make money with you, have an opt out option, or get free services. You can't steal; then not distribute. That's not right. See? Stealing, and distribution. Almost like me pirating, and distributing it. Legally, I guess I can rob from you guys too. See the issue? Ethics. Build your own system from scratch, or give it away for free. Why can't it run in the browser, locally, with benign safety oversights? Just stop the REALLY bad stuff. Otherwise, who cares at this point? Anyways, love the app, keep it up, I think you'll get some crazy awards someday! Just please, either be a robin hood, or develop your own information. Can't have it both ways. Even if we use your servers. I pay for my own internet, right? And you took from my internet experience. So we actually both have servers going, and I should not need to pay for yours. I like the brave wallet idea, a little bit, but let's use money? The real kind? The kind that I can buy with, not dodge responsibility? Cool? Thanks. Love y'all!.Version: 1.89

Good browser, not enough to replace Safari yetIt executes on all that it claims to do. Blocks ads, trackers, allows for background audio playback, etc. The app just has a dated UI. Basically if the UI for searching, opening a new tab, and managing tabs was identical to Safari on iOS, it would be perfect. Just move the search bar down like Safari and let it be sort of an all-encompassing search bar. Remove the search button. Then make the tabs UI more vertical so you can clear tabs without having to reach up on your screen. I hate that if I'm browsing a website, and want to search or go to another website, the easiest way in the UI is to open ANOTHER tab since the button to do so is at the bottom of the screen. I could re-enter in the search bar but it's located at the very top of the UI. So basically, the app makes it easier to just open a new tab to make a new search, but also makes it annoyingly slow to clear the tabs you already have open. So what you get is a bunch of tabs separate for all of your queries. Safari makes it easy and clean to just use one tab to browse and search easily. Take notes Brave. Also, the built-in adblocker is not perfect. It works 90% of the time but usually I see ads for a split second when loading the page before it gets blocked and all the content shifts around. Certain sites just bypass the blocker entirely and I still get ads. Using Safari with an extension like Adguard works way better in terms of ad blocking. I just use Brave sometimes because iOS's "downtime" feature blocks all browsing on Safari with no option to change it..Version: 1.43

Brave’s AI Leo is Superior to all!I enjoy using Brave very much, I have used it for several years now. The integration of their AI has completely changed the game for me. While I do actively use ChaptGPT and even Grok (occasionally), I find that Leo (Brave’s AI) really hones in what I need as necessary, but will also go deeper again as needed. While I would absolutely love a chat feature where it could talk back, I am more than pleased with Leo. It is my favorite thing about Brave. Without going into too much detail, it really aligns better with me than the other AI’s out there. I appreciate Brave’s other features as well, and feel really confident using Brave as to not feel infringed in any way. There have been frustrating moments wherein some websites would not work with Brave, but that is because of their protective features, which makes sense and the reason I got and use Brave. For the non-responding websites, I either tuen off the Brave shield or I use Safari if it gets too frustrating. Nothing worth qualming over, considering their AI makes up for any issues. I do not write a lot of reviews, but Brave earned my time and attention :) Way to go Brave and your AI team. What a great and superior product, now we just need an app or home system for Leo. I would chat with it about my studies and questions a lot. :).Version: 1.84

Fast, Ad Block by Default, Crypto Rewards and Privacy FocusWhat’s not to like right? This is hands down the fastest browser I’ve used on my Mac, iOS and Windows devices. Ads are blocked by default and it’s easy to make changes to the shields when they inadvertently block things that you want to see. Brave’s privacy focus is a huge selling point especially for people who follow tech and have noticed just how creepy the predictive algorithms are getting. One of the most interesting things is the Brave Rewards model and their solution to the current online advertising nightmare - the BAT (Basic Attention Token). Not only to they pay you for watching ads but the tech also promises an opportunity to upend the current broken system of Google-based ads and predictive marketing analytics. What they hope to do eventually is to put the power back consumer’s hands by paying us to view adds and allocating BAT to content providers based on the proportion of attention you give the site monthly. Popularity growth of the platform and additional investment and price increases for the BAT token will be required to get to a point where the system can potentially provide enough revenue to compete directly against Google etc. but Rome wasn’t built in a day. Give it a try and read up a little. I think you’ll like it too..Version: 1.14.3

Best browser.Hey I love the app. The simplicity of blocking excessive cookies and trackers is amazing. I recently learned about the bridge feature for pc, I haven’t had a chance to get on my computer yet but I was curious if it is a feature offered on mobile. Privacy is going to become more and more important with the explosion of AI, we are seeing an explosion of exploitation of data rights and loopholes that violate our bill of rights, most people are a bit naive with their data and have no problem sharing their location with Google or apple 24/7 is AOK. I don’t want to be one of them. (For anyone reading, bridging won’t stop this you need Google these for yourself, bridging is more of a protection from internet suppliers and network monitoring by network admins or hackers. Similar to a vpn but with less protection, It also slows your internet browsing significantly.) If the app offers bridging, can you tell me how to navigate to it? Thanks. Every tool I can get my hands on to keep my data and my family’s data safe:) power to the people! P.S. wish there was a button to create a tab library so I could open all my windows on my pc and continue where I left off from my phone instead of doing it 1 by 1. It exist on pc, can you add this to the app too?.Version: 1.67

I would recommend itI have been using the Brave browser for a while now, and I am thoroughly impressed with its user-friendly interface and the vibrant community that continues to grow around it. Ease of Use: From the moment you launch Brave, you notice its clean and intuitive design. The browser is incredibly easy to navigate, even for those who are not particularly tech-savvy. The setup process is straightforward, and importing bookmarks and settings from other browsers is a breeze. Brave’s interface is similar enough to other popular browsers to make the transition seamless, yet it introduces useful features that enhance the overall browsing experience. Performance and Features: Brave is not just about simplicity; it’s also about performance. It loads pages quickly and efficiently, blocking unwanted ads and trackers by default. This not only speeds up browsing but also ensures a more private and secure online experience. The inclusion of features like Brave Rewards, where users can earn cryptocurrency by opting into privacy-respecting ads, is innovative and engaging. Community and Support: One of the most exciting aspects of Brave is its rapidly growing community. The Brave Community forum is a bustling hub where users can share tips, report issues, and get support. The developers are active within the community, listening to feedback and continuously improving the browser based on user suggestions. This level of engagement makes users feel valued and part of a larger movement towards a more private and secure internet. Conclusion: Brave has set a new standard for what a modern browser should be. Its ease of use, combined with its robust performance and growing community, makes it a top choice for anyone⬤.Version: 1.67

Excellent for speed, security, privacy, but not for syncing with mobile devicesThis is an upate to my previous review, which appears below. I only wish to add that I am extremely disappointed with Brave Browser's failure to get a sync function working between versions on different Apple devices. On my iMac, where I have established login credentials for hundreds of websites, Brave automatically provides those credentials when I return to a site. But when I go to one of those same sites on my iPhone or iPad, I have to establish my credentials all over again from scratch. Brave wastes a tremendous amount of my time in this way just because the sync function it claims to have still doesn't function after all this time! WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE FOLKS AT BRAVE THAT THEY KEEP CLAIMING TO HAVE A SYNC FUNCTION WHEN THEY DON'T??!!! After starting to use Brave as my default browser on all my devices, I have found the browsing speed and security, as well as protection of my privacy, to be all I could have wished for. However, when it came to syncing the browser across all my devices, it was a far different story. I was able to follow the instructions for my computers (one running MacOS and the other running Windows 10), but the instructions for including mobile devices in the sync were useless. They said to go to Brave Sync in settings, but there is no Brave Sync in the Brave browser settings on my mobile devices (iPhone, iPad). I can't imagine what they were thinking when they wrote those instructions. Bottom line: I can sync across Brave browsers in my two computers, but the Brave browsers in my mobile devices remain in solitary confinement. IN CASE THE FOLKS WHO WROTE THE SYNCING INSTRUCTIONS COME ACROSS THIS REVIEW, I'D APPRECIATE SOME INPUT FROM THEM!!.Version: 1.26

One of the better mobile browsersGenerally mobile browsers aren’t very customizable or private, but this one is one of the better ones. I primarily use Brave because it’s adblocking features seem to work better than other mobile browsers, and I appreciate the ease of use. The playlist feature, night mode, and the reading list are all useful. However, there’s been one caveat recently- the integration of AI has not been done well. Procedurally generated text will appear every time you search something, and it clogs up the top of the search page, so if you don’t want to read it, you need to scroll past it, and it tends to be long. The other, much more aggravating thing is that the text doesn’t generate all at once. That means that as you scroll through the results, they move down, creating an effect that makes it seem like your FPS has dropped significantly. Because the results move down the page, you can’t click them until the procedurally generated text has completed. The text only shows up sometimes, and often will take a few seconds to start generating, so I can’t really tell when it’s fine to click a link and when it’s not. There’s no way to hide it, either. I’ve used Brave for the past few years and I’m considering switching to another browser because of this..Version: 1.68

Overall recommendThe only annoying bug I’ve found is that occasionally Brave randomly switch me to the adjacent tab to the one where I had was successfully browsing a site. My suspicion is that it’s crashing for a split second and then restoring me to tab #20 instead of #19. It seems like a bug that persists from version to version as well (as with so much software). On the other hand, I’m glad there’s someone out there at least trying to counter this mad track-and-spam-advertise arms race that we’re currently experiencing online. I used to use the number one search engine (which last decade has increasingly resembled #2 IMHO) and everywhere I would go I would be besieged by obnoxious relentless spam search results and horrible invasive “targeted ads”. Now, with Brave, I have other choices of search engines beyond the usual ones (which I find to be each one totally terrible). I don’t find myself paddling round the same gyre of crap sites that I used to find myself repeatedly directed into as if I were trying to escape a black hole but failing to. Having said this, note that Brave is not 100% successful at anonymizing you, and these sites are bound to keep growing ever more clever; but over the last year or so it has been a noticeable improvement for me..Version: 1.35.1

So far so goodFinding myself in a precarious situation my privacy is everything. Recently out of a 13 yr relationship my partner and I used google chrome on all of our devices and used the sync services. Passwords and site logins all saved. We used the sync services and I didn’t know from any device my partner could track all my online activity, when I was coming and going on google maps. When pictures were taken on my phone, messages being sent or received. Facebook messenger or SMS messages from google voice or from cell provider. I was accused of things I wasn’t doing. One morning I woke up to not being able to access my email account, then many other online accounts. My credit cards were canceled, later in the week my internet was shut off and finally the electricity! My social love, work life, financials, all messed up, canceled, turned off. Privacy is very important. I learned that the convenience of all the google services can be very dangerous. I even lost a decade of photos and information stored on Onedrive and Dropbox. All this damage done remotely without my knowledge. My partner was so good to even intercept the security breach emails sent to me from gmail and outlook at the time things were accessed. Email deleted, trash emptied, google history cleared, account history cleared. I never knew what hit me. Now I will never use google, edge, or safari. Brave or Firefox. Trust no one. Use sync services cautiously and use Internet security and a VPN. Not any free service either. To truly be private you need to pay for these services. Very affordable for piece of mind. Other who read this think twice about what’s really going on in your home..Version: 1.20

Those aren’t pop ups, they’re rewards adsEveryone in the reviews are whining because of the tiny pop ups saying the locker doesn’t work.. YEAH IT DOES I’m coming used Brave for almost 4 years now and made well over $200 u canchoose to turn ur rewards off and not get the tiny pop ups or chose to get 1-10 an hr andat dnr of month they send u crypto which u can sell or trade for other crypto and I highly recommend instead of letting Google get paid for all ur search’s download presearch or get the extension on ur browser and ur get paid small amounts but the normal person does like 5000 search’s a year and the Vic u .25 a search see Google every search and chrome/other browsers gets $ for ur data so Take what’s rightfully ur and use Brave and presearch together and make that money itself trust me u wont be sorry ur making nothing now even if u only make 2 a month ur not letting google and Microsoft get rich off ur data and ur search’s. And braves pop up blocker works best I’ve seen saves u a ton of data and makes ur internet experience more ch smoother and faster and ppl complaining passwords ain’t saving clearly are cluelessgo to setting and turn pass off mgr on. Duh!! Lol.Version: 1.28

It is my de-fault browser experiencing emphasis on the faultIt is my de-fault browser experiencing emphasis on the fault. It claims not to track or not to keep logs. It crashes too much so when I use this browser, I notice no history of where I was either before or after it crashes. Not being able to explore the Internet at all due to crashing browsers is probably the very best way to keep people safe from being tracked online. Great privacy browser available because it keeps your Internet usage very private and secure, not even you can see your activity online or have any browser history. Browsing is almost non-existent with this crashing browser. Thank you so much for putting safety first and browser experience quality last on your company’s list of important. I will never buy a VON from your company, since I cannot use your browser crash-free. At your community people have commented about your browser crashing issues for maybe decades, nothing has changed. Until it is more dependable, this honest review remains! In search for a better browser but, until then, Brave is my de-fault browser with emphasis on the fault..Version: 1.69.2

Need a gallery of browser tabsBrave is an amazing browser for iOS! It comes in with the best ad blocker and most private search 👍 I would like to let the developers know that whenever I open my browser tabs, I would constantly have to stretch my thumbs to close the tab. If there was a gallery of tabs that I could swipe up and tabs would show and the close button was on the bottom or on the tool bar, that would make life for my thumb easier. Apple has integrated this feature for iPhones itself like when we open our windows and all I have to do to close one is to swipe my thumb upwards on the bottom of the screen where it can reach easily. This is what Brave should have for their browser tabs for ergonomic purposes. Another feature that I need is a larger search bar. Coming from Safari, I’m used to tapping on the large Safari search bar. It’s a little challenging for my fingers to find the slim search bar and press it. Haptic feedback would also significantly improve the browser. Thank you and keep at it! 👏.Version: 1.60

Next level (EDITED)Switched to Brave after using Firefox for years and wow the differences are immense. Actual top to bottom adblocking as well as the ability to disable almost every single modern internet annoyance you can think of. First recommendation would be looking into applying the current iOS design language how Firefox did. Maybe a transparent top bar as page elements interfere with the coloring and end up glitching when all the lists are loaded. Second a simple visual indicator like a check or an x next to the address to show if the website has or doesn’t have valid security credentials. Additionally the ai integrations aren’t needed, the product is strong and is able to deliver without buzzword features that pose unnecessary security risks. Edit: after using it for a week I was unable to commit. The power draw was substantially higher for less screen time compared to previous browsers. Additionally the looming eye of several chatbot models being integrated into the app pose unnecessary privacy risks due to the parent company’s data collection standards and overall ethics. When the ai bubble bursts and these features are phased out I’d love to return but for now all of the next level privacy and filtering features are nullified by the inclusion of said ai features..Version: 1.85

Love it except for one super annoying thingI love the Brave Browser with one massively annoying UI issue: the X (to clear the text in the search field) on the inside right side of the search field. When you enter search text, such as a question or multiple keywords, your cursor ends up all the way to the right of the search window and the X. Since Apple’s text autocorrect does not work for misspelled text in a browser search / URL field, and typing on iPhone results in a high frequency of typos, the placement of the X to clear the text is in a terrible position. I can’t tell you how often I try to tap to place my cursor on the right near the X in order to delete a couple of characters near the end of the text as I type and see typos, and tapping near the X (not even directly on it) clears all of the text in the window. It’s so frustratingly often that there are times when I just switch to the Firefox Focus browser instead. It would be much better if the X was either at the left hand side of the search / URL window rather than the right, or even better, adding more separation between the search / text field and the X to reduce the frequency that Brave deletes search criteria or a URL..Version: 1.83

Browser would be amazing with a few tweaks for mobile.First of all, I LOVE this browser. The level of privacy and security is a breath of fresh air compared to most. Wonderfully they are developing a email that forwards to yours, keeping yours anonymous and less easy to be compromised while purchasing online (such as duck duck is). That is a huge bonus feature. I do find that this app has many more privacy options than most and that seems to be the company’s #1 priority. However I only deducted a star because I mobile app would be top notch with full security and privacy customization options that are standard on the PC version. That is surprising to me. I also appreciate if there were more accessibility options within the app settings. I am moderately vision and hearing impaired. For some reason Brave doesn’t seem to recognize my phone setting to accommodate for those disorders. It does seem to break sites on occasion, although the devs are pretty good at promptly fixing those issues once you report them plus sometimes this is my VPN. All in all, I would 100% recommend this, especially if you just need a basic browser that doesn’t track and get in on your business..Version: 1.28

Good app, but needs workSummary: the goal this app is trying to achieve is S+ but the execution is an F+ Meaning that this app is better than every other web browser and at the same time worse, it’s got everything good you want in a web browser while being horrendously unreliable and fussy, I recommend… if you’re willing to have a second web browser as well. edit2: i found the reason why it deleted all my tabs, it had crashed like three times in a row and it wasn’t prepared to handle that, I know this as it happened again while I was looking at it. Edit: it just deleted all my tabs :( . I like what they’re going for, but it needs some work, like the lack of integration with the Shortcuts app and night mode needs some help, I don’t like that the two buttons in the bottom right are swapped but chrome’s doing it too so I guess I can’t judge too much… anyway most of what I want is just a little bit more polish on this… and maybe just ditch the cryptocurrency entirely, oh yeah and Web app games are kind of cooked on this too… only ad blocker that I actually feel comfortable using tho… Safari is just too smooth and well integrated with the shortcuts app to stop using completely… Anyway, would recommend over chrome.Version: 1.58.2

Feature Request: Add Website Home Screen Shortcut Support for Brave iOSDear Brave Browser Development Team, I hope this message finds you well. My name is Saimoon, and I am a dedicated iOS user who has been using Brave as my primary browser for a considerable period of time. I genuinely appreciate the privacy-first approach, the speed, and the overall experience your team has built — it is truly one of the most thoughtfully designed browsers available. I am writing today to submit a sincere feature request that I believe would significantly improve the iOS user experience. Currently, Brave on iOS allows users to favorite websites and pin them above the search bar on the new tab page, which is a great touch. However, one feature that I notice is missing — and that virtually every other major browser on iOS (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and others) already supports — is the ability to add a website directly to the iPhone Home Screen as a standalone shortcut. I genuinely hope your team will consider prioritizing this feature in an upcoming iOS update. I have full confidence in your team’s ability to implement it in a way that aligns with Brave’s values and standards. Thank you!.Version: 1.89

Perfect Browser!I stopped using this browser a couple of years ago because it didn’t seem too user friendly, and other browsers I was used to using were much easier to navigate. My thing was being able to tap on a phone number or an address and it just be automatically calling or navigating to wherever I’m trying to get. Well after hearing a highly notable figure mention Brave, I decided to give it another go. And they’ve made this app PERFECT! It’s really incredibly smooth! I love how I can customize my experience to the point where I can choose if want to see ads, and how aggressive I want my ad blocker to be. There’s much I haven’t mentioned. What sold me was the moment I searched for the local sushi spot in my town to see if I could tap the phone number to make the call, and IT WORKED! Deleted my other browsers on the spot. If you value privacy, and being able to tailor your own experience without big tech forcing ads down your throat, then you need to download this browser right now!!.Version: 1.69.1

Better functionality for integrated softwareHello, I am back again writing another review and suggestion. I really appreciate the work that has been done with the Brave app, and it is really clear that the developers take the time to look at the reviews and make the changes necessary to making this app better. I am a college student, and so I use Canvas. Canvas allows schools to integrate other programs into it, such as Edpuzzle, RedShelf, Pearson+ Access Learning, MyLab and Mastering, and so many other integrated programs. The problem that I am having is that these integrated problems simply don’t work with mobile software. For example, RedShelf, an electronic textbook library, cannot be accessed from the Canvas webpage, as it tells me that cookies have to be enabled. Even going through the settings and fully turning off Brave Shields cannot solve the issue. I am not sure if this is a limit that exists simply because of the mobile platform that has been morphed into this pseudo-desktop feel, but I believe that the ability to use the iPad like a desktop will really help it feel productive..Version: 1.68.1

Very good, just a few little thingsEdit: Using iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16.7.2. Along with troubles playing audio while the phone is closed, audio from one video will play over another. Also, Picture-in-Picture will be activated in-app, though the app was not closed. Love the app: very secure, LOTS of security features and customizable settings - very much appreciated - though I have a few little things: Is it possible to add an option to stop videos on closing the phone, but still enable background audio? There are times when I need to close my phone, i.e. getting off break, while watching a video, and opening it up to pause it can be fiddley. The background audio cuts in and out sometimes while playing when I close my phone as well. I would like to request an option for a customizable background for the home screen. But I understand if that is how the app gets its ad funding. This isn’t an urgent request, but maybe have a customizable app icon, using different colors, etc.? Thank you for providing such a great browser, and I hope to hear from you soon!.Version: 1.63.2

Update: Great, removed crypto ads in news feedUpdate: I am dumbfounded how quickly the crypto ads nearly disappeared after posting this review. If it was in response to my comments, I am humbled and truly thankful to the developers for listening to the community! Now 100% recommended, just give it a shot! Absolutely love Brave, I use it in Linux, Mac OS, iPad OS, iOS, and was using it in windows before I got rid of windows. The cross platform functionality is flawless, I can send tabs across devices and sync settings, onboarding new devices is simple and even syncs extensions. My only gripe is all of the crypto ads in Brave news. I actually really like Brave news, you have fine control over sources and is very broad. I fine the crypto industry/culture to be morally bankrupt (basically gambling and a waste of resources) and even though I see its usefulness in very niche situations, that is not what is driving the ads. For what Brave stands for, I contemplate moving away because of their push on crypto features and ads, really conflicted on this..Version: 1.58

Bout as good as it getsIn security anonymity safety and speed in browsing for the amount of security on default and the network it goes through is military grade. I believe it’s the tor network. I don’t think you can find a better browser for everyday use and stay safe and secure online as I repeat with the speeds brave produces. I don’t think I have ever maybe one time other than this have I reviewed an app. This needs to be everyone’s default browser. &$$@( google Update it’s great and pretty much private. My problem is I was using the premium version and it was 100. Thought the price was nothing free then I take a look at my notifications and I see two charges one the brave search or vpn other was just let ke the paid one it’s not worth a couple cents a day to have a private search and vpn. I still use brave most the time just with a different search and vpn and I don’t know that there is to much on the surface going on there. I’m sure if I looked into it they would say it has more options and better default options but it’s all a money game that’s why the dollar as well as the rest of the physical fiat is existing.Version: 1.61

Amazing Utility Browser!Brave is a must-have for power users of smartphones and computers. It’s the perfect secondary browser to complement Safari or Chrome, offering much more unique utility than both of them combined. With privacy and security put above all else, it is a great surprise how incredible the UI and feature set are. Implicitly blocks ads and trackers, perfect for using certain kinds of websites that tend to be covered in pop-ups. I highly recommend going through all settings and customizing the behavior and appearance of Brave once you install it. This is necessary to understand the value of the application, and makes it much more comfortable and personalized. The default configuration is okay, but when you remove everything you don’t need in settings, it becomes such a great experience. This is the same way I feel about smartphones in general, you must go through all settings and configure them to your own preference, or else the software is more generic than it should be. Give it a try!.Version: 1.56

Fantastic - with a few suggestionsI love Brave. It’s exactly the browser I was hoping for, and its functionality is excellent. However, I have a few minor suggestions that would really improve the user experience. 1) don’t autoplay playlist videos upon opening that page. It’s just annoying. 2) it’s a bit un-intuitive to use PIP and browse at the same time. I can close the app and get PIP just fine, but trying to go back to the search page to look something up stops the audio unless I press the PIP button at the top of the screen. Ideally, I could just go to the search page without having to hit that button and have it automatically launch PIP. But that may be a necessary step for some reason. And 3) I’d love a way to keep the search bar minimized even when scrolling up, because it crowds the screen, even on my Max. But perhaps I’m missing a setting for that last one. All in all, an excellent app, and a major improvement over its competitors for sure..Version: 1.82

Brave: Show ''em who's boss.Thank you Brave for defending our right to be secure in ourselves and journey through life uninhibited by the overwhelming presence of greed and selfishness that appears to be dominating the world at the moment. Peace of mind no matter how little is so appreciated. Who wants to live a life where everything you do is jotted down in "Secret Notebooks" to be used in any way what-so-ever with little restraint as well as no honestly ethical regard wether some harm may result. Profit above the well being of others? Perhaps gathered data/ information will be used kindly or maybe not. I'm sure I'm not alone in this world when I say there a very few people I would trust with my well being. where our species has acknowledged the most powerful weapon in the world (PSYCHOLOGY). Brave as far as web browsers go from my experience, Yours I can trust mostly until I don't. There's little bugs here and there, but hey, there's bugs everywhere. as a browser is where. If anyone reads this, I know this is a review board and not a soap box but thanks for reading anyway. Brave Rules! Twitch.Version: 1.56

Awesome browser but needs some fine tuningThis browser honestly is so nice. It’s got a lot of features that you seek in a browser, especially ones that Chrome lacks. It has a clean interface for the favorites bookmark, it has a built-in adblocker and reader mode (which isn’t the best but it’s still nice), it has cool animations, etc. However, it’s still not perfect. Some “issues” include that it’s not really friendly towards one handed use, a feature that I would really appreciate if added. For example, a button at the bottom could be added in place of the 3 dots that activates the search bar. Then, those three dots could be integrated into the Brave logo at the top. Moreover, the tabs page, which has tiles that are somewhat hard to reach, could have a button at the bottom that reaches the top. Also, it would look cleaner if the url is shorter at the top and that, when you scroll down, that shortened url still appears. I completely realize how I’m nit-picking, but these would be nice to have nonetheless..Version: 1.11.4

Review For broom tiogaI spent a few months at broom tioga boxes. It was a experience that I was not really impressed. About until I changed my perspective about until I was able to do my work with a friend and then my teacher asked me if my willingness to work out side my comfort zone and remain open to trying to see it for a different perspective. I was ask to try to do my project with the understanding that I wasn’t work but as a game that in order to get it right I would have to try to enjoy it with my eyes closed and my mind open. I was willing to take a chance and I was not really worried about not seeing my work but feeling it. The different perspective is the best thing i ever tried. It made me realize it wasn’t what you were going to see that mattered. But what you feel that mattered. It was the perspective of how it felt with my hands. And how it felt in my mind that made it all work for me. I feel from a different angle. It was I hands on way of learning no pun intended..Version: 1.85

2 bugs + 3 suggestionsHi, I’ve been using brave since 2 years ago on my laptop and pc, and now I’m using it on iOS, too. So it works pretty great especially since it has a bottom sidebar now But there are 2 bugs: 1. when a website like your online class has access to your microphone and your mic is open and you are talking, if you go to another tab(for example a pdf to read from it in your class) your mic will be disconnected and I think it would happen to webcam share, either(I’m not sure cause I haven’t tested this with webcam but I am sure about microphone), so if you fix this bug and an option to let your mic and webcam be accessible when your in another tab, it would be great. 2. Now there is a worse bug, and it’s your keyboard auto-correction and keyboard suggestions which brave doesn't support both support. After all, I’ve also got 2 suggestions for you: 1st: add a timer for face-id lock, something like telegram’s or other messenger’s face-ID lock timer. 2nd: Please add themes to brave, something just like the desktop version, which you can personalize brave with several colors. It would be perfect. 3rd: As someone said before, please implement a bigger search bar, and then please add the swipe gesture to switch between open tabs like chrome or safari. I think that the problem with brave’s search bar size is the height of it, you know the height of options in the settings menu or search bar is small, so if you could add this, it would be perfect again😀 Thanks for reading this and for your great browser ;).Version: 1.45.2

Great, but can’t access passwordsThis is a great browser, probably the best mobile one in my honest opinion and wayyy better than Safari because it blocks ads, allows you to easily search with different search engines, and actually shows the different tabs at the top. However, Idk if this is a security thing but now that I have most of my passwords on iCloud and Brave I rely on both whenever i forget them and unfortunately there is no way to view my Brave passwords on mobile (at least for iOS). This is extremely annoying because then I have to hop on my computer and spend a couple minutes opening up my passwords and finding the correct one. It would be nice if it just worked exactly like it did on the desktop version of Brave. Also, with the new Safari rolling out in November, maybe it’s time to consider a design refresh based off of user response to the new Safari and other browsers. Current design is the best imo on mobile but maybe it could be improved further and beat out the competition..Version: 1.28

Fabulous features that protect your privacyI absolutely love Brave browser for its convenience and for its privacy. The newsfeed is also first class. Love that my tabs can stay open for off-line reading when I'm not near a comfortable Internet connection so that I can catch up at my leisure. Also love that I can print a PDF and save to file anything that's really important but one of the best features of all is there Leo AI engine. here one will find a choice of a few different engines within the Leo mask that is privacy oriented and gives you incredible in-depth information if you know how to use it. I particularly like that I could ask the llama version to compare the security features of two computer systems and the details about their chip, and that it would give me an in-depth answer that would hit every point I had requested of it. And it's not sailing your data really first class browser that is elegant and simple to use. These days it's my favorite..Version: 1.84

Brave please slim it down... Update! It is really great that you made a clean break from Google! Since you did I have put your search engine on all of the browsers that I am test driving. I would really like to use your browser on my ios devices but it is really cumbersome, I don't need all of the extras, and it would be nice to not have to manually close tabs, but be able to open the browser fresh without my last session staring at me, unless I configure it to. Maybe you could offer other versions, more stripped down, like Firefox does with Firefox Focus, or at least offer more ways to configure the ios browser to clean it up for those of us who don't need power-windows and a/c. I give you five stars for the stellar security and privacy emphasis. Worked with Brave browser tonight on osx, speed is excellent, think I will go with it on my desktop. Gonna keep Brave browser on my iPhone, but to be honest I will probably be using a lighter browser there..Version: 1.49.1

Deleted 100s of downloads without a prompt or asking me firstDeleted 100s of downloads i made—mostly hard to find Ebooks, presumably because that as the default behaviour. I went into settings and saw clearing of multiple things, including downloads, was in the on mode of the on-off switch which says clear downloads. I’ve never seen a web browser yet which has a turned on switch to clear a number of things including downloads. I was in the process of making Brave my default browser, pushing out iCabMobile which is a pay app, which I have using since my first Apple device but after 100s of downloads were cleared without even asking me first is completely unforgivable and unacceptable in my estimation and that’s why I gave it 1 star. I would have given it a 0 or some negative number like -5 if that was possible. Until that point I thought it was a great browser and would have made it my new default browser if this did not happen. ICabMobile NEVER deleted my downloads no matter how much space they took up or how old they were just sitting there. My iPad Pro has a gig of user available ram and I never really get to a point where I must delete stuff, but if and when I delete things it should be up to me and not some app to delete anything. I highly encourage the developer(s) of this app to turn off those clearing switches and let the USER decide how they should work but FOR SURE don’t delete downloads without at least prompting the user first. FOR SURE don’t have clear private data,, including all user logins and downloads turned on by default. Most users are capable of going in to SETTINGS and choosing the options they want to clear and setup a schedule of WHEN and HOW OFTEN they want to clear their items which are here configured as Private Data..Version: 1.19.2

No idea how I did without this...Paired with a VPN, finally less annoying ads and more peace of mind. Great app..Version: 1.19.2

Sync with desktopGreat browser, better than the default safari. Will be 5 stars when the sync for mobile is finished.Version: 1.5.1

Experiencing a lagThe browser seems to be lagging after the new update. The videos on YouTube are not in sync with the audio..Version: 1.86

Its okayPretty much chrome but pays you for less intrusive ads. My gripes are that you can’t clear your history or cache, which is a basic feature on every browser. Also hardcoding referral links on crypto websites is a big nono especially for privacy’s sake, give us options, thats why people are interested in the first place. Until you can get the simple stuff covered, I can’t give it 5 stars..Version: 1.17

Prone to crashing & other issuesBrave is a fairly good browser, most of the time. However, it seems to do poorly with Youtube. As of the latest update, it is impossible to put videos in fullscreen. This may have been a side effect of trying to fix another bug where captions didn't show up while in fullscreen. Roughly 1-2 times a week, the browser crashes, often while midway through watching a video (I only really use brave for Youtube), and it closes all my tabs. On a few occasions, this didn't allow me to reopen the tabs. Brave does have a few very nice parts, with a lack of ads on most platforms and fairly nice UI, but the flaws with its apparent instability, broken features, and also the many smaller bugs make me consider abandoning it. Please, brave, get your act together. You're making a mess..Version: 1.84

Ban censorshipI don’t believe any company has the right to censor my ability to know what I think or read I believe all information on the net should be left alone for the reader to decide its value. Bit chute seems to be free of censorship..Version: 1.21

Good protection but Sssllllooowww speedDefinitely much slower than most other browsers, but I guess that’s the price for ad control and all other safety features..Version: 1.84

Not like b4This app is not working like before on my iPhone...not blocking any ads.Version: 1.83

Better than otherI liked Brave very much and overall happy with it. Still see room for improvement. Some websites, I don’t see reader mode after pressing reader mode button. No annoying ads and popups. That is what I really like about it..Version: 1.82.1

Replaces YT Premium for freeNo ads, not one YouTube ad and I don’t have to subscribe to anything. Then in full screen mode I can navigate to other apps and the video will continue playing. I don’t know about any other feature nor do I care to try them. I repeat, watch YouTube without a single ad..Version: 1.73

Brave is needed in societyWell, you know what they say, that yesterday’s conspiracy theories become today’s news? I think freedom of speech is extremely important if we don’t all want to end up living in a communist regime… Klaus Shwabb has often bragged about having placed many of our world leaders in power, and Trudeau is one of them. It seems obvious to me that he’s trying to bankrupt Canada as fast as he can, so the average blue collar worker will be begging for the great reset where the World Economic Forum takes over, and they want to wield power exactly like China does over it’s people… Don’t believe me? Research it in Brave, because google has been bought and paid for by corporate and government interests in 2014….Version: 1.73

Truly 10/10Best browser possible, very convenient, very quick and just good in general.Version: 1.69.2

Chrome but betterIt has built in crypto garbage (my opinion) but aside from that, it’s like Chrome but better and it doesn’t spy on you (spies less at least🤷🏼‍♂️).Version: 1.65

Best browser for iOS plus…… Brave does not artificially push social agenda’s of division. My respect and thanks. To each adult their choice, each is free to err and learn or even to err and fall. So as long as one does not infringe on another’s inalienable rights, so be it..Version: 1.61.1

Decent, but searches aren’t workingSo, I’m liking Brave so far, I use it for privacy somewhat. However, the images part when using brave doesn’t work, and DuckDuckGo is just entirely broken… and that’s all I know is broken. But yeah, 5 stars if not for making it hard for me to search anything.Version: 1.41
