A big part of that is not allowing advertisers to interfere in the enjoyment of using the software she created when it is used. This takes WISDOM, not intelligence. At times I think there are about as many technically motivated programmers in the world as there are fire ants. Unlike those programmers, who seem to be everywhere, programmers who develop software that truly is an excellent and non-annoying application are worth getting to know, they are rare. Any developer that tells you how fast he/ she can have your program done and trouble free in only a few short days or weeks - has a team of dozens of talented designers OR, likely is starting on a template framework being adapted to what the developer perceives the needs to be met for the client. Many developers think they can make even more money by including numerous ads for other software titles. That theory works as well as going knocking on doors during the championship game. They will be home, but want to talk to a salesman about as much as shaving their head with a butter knife while chewing on tinfoil. Knowing how to address a customers needs takes plenty of smarts. The BEST Ad BlockerI have been using Wipr for a while now, as soon as I got news of a new version of it, I had to buy it and test it out to see how it held up to its predecessor, and I will say.. this is the best ad blocker I have ever used. I have performed a series of tests with ad blocker testers to see the filtration list and how it holds up, and it has performed beautifully, it has filtered everything in this complex test, but let’s be honest.. the user wants to know how it performs on day to day use, I read articles and watch videos on the web constantly, I have not been interrupted with advertisers spamming me with junk that consumes my data and makes pages hideous, instead, I have had a fast, beautiful pleasant experience on every single website I have visited. I usually find myself dreading reading an article and having to just put it in Reader Mode to remove all the clutter but now I can enjoy pages without any worries. What about videos though? Well.. I haven’t seen a single advert pushed down through any of the services I consume media on, that you may likely find yourself using. I have even gone through foreign sites and have had a pleasant experience with them with again, no adverts. What about battery? Extensions CAN be resource intensive, this one is not that. You will find yourself not only having what I would say to be the best experience on the web with the WebKit engine that is super light and efficient and arguably in my opinion stronger than that of Blink or Gecko, and with a very light and easy to install ad blocker that beats out the rest. OutstandingHands-down, the best Safari extension and one of my favorite iOS apps of all time. I love the way it removes distracting (and often malicious) advertisements from webpages. It restores sanity to the Internet at a time when almost all webpages are fraught with visual noise. The original app was well worth the money and I did not hesitate to buy Wipr 2 as soon as it became available. It’s hard to overstate just how great it is. Perhaps the best compliment I can offer is that it feels like this is how the web was supposed to look all along. When I borrow someone else’s device, I am immediately repulsed by the appearance of most websites and discouraged from completing that task. I would much rather just wait until I can get back to my own device, where I feel right at home. Best bang for your buckI hardly write app reviews and I really will never pay for an app. However this came across my suggested and I noticed an immediate change and I’m very impressed. You can browse through all of your typical sites and if anything tries to take you to another site, “wipr” immediately takes you out and takes you back to your original site. This is a blessing within an app, and the developer has been so generous to make the app very user friendly and simple. Posted throughout the app are help links and any other information the developer felt would be helpful to the users. Excellent but still missing Auto-updateWe have been an advocate and supporter of Wipr since the previous version. The latest version offers and improved user interface and user experience, while still maintaining a simple implementation process. When the application is up-to-date with the latest definitions, it performs very well against all of our testing to block various web, browsing, annoyances, cookies, and other elements. Unfortunately, when closed the application still does not automatically update behind the scenes for the user. The user must keep the application open for updates to transpire, which means the user must remember to update the application’s definitions. This auto-update failure is the only shortcoming that we observe. Otherwise, this is an excellent application and highly recommendable..Ionic57Version: 2.0.2

It’s Decent. Worth it? I don’t entirely think so.Charging a one time payment is more than generous for such app compared to others on the App Store that charge monthly. This app does what it’s supposed to do or sold for but unlike another favorite version that charges monthly, this app, however is nowhere close to what it offers. This other app lets you customize features and is friendly, however Kaylee’s app is hidden behind a backend and you really don’t see or get to see what you’re actually purchasing. I love supporting small developers and have had communications with Kaylee, she is very kind, helpful and responsive but the app is unfortunately not customizable to users and everything it offers is a secret on her servers backend so if you’re comfortable in supporting or purchasing something just know you’re really not going to see or be able to adjust this app..KodakBlackSupportersVersion: 2.10.2

Works how I hopedI don’t normally leave reviews but I like to leave reviews on things I really like. Also sometimes idk what’s a bot or not in the reviews. So here’s my experience. I was on a streaming website and whenever I clicked anywhere on the page it kept doing pop ups that would take me to other webpages. Usually gambling or x rated sites. It was quite annoying as I was just trying to watch sports… anyways, initially after purchasing and downloading it didn’t work… then I noticed in the bottom left inside of safari I had to give it access to the website/web for it to work, as soon as I did it worked perfectly. Now I can watch streams on my phone ad/pop up free!!!.Mschaper95Version: 2.26.1

Not sure how this is different…Wipr is one of the more effective content blockers on the App Store and it gets there without the user having to spend 20 minutes flipping various settings on and off to see what works, which is a real positive. The problem is I’m not sure how Wipr 2 is different from the original. I get that sometimes you want to do a complete rewrite, but this one doesn’t feel like it was necessary from the customer’s perspective and I’m a bit disappointed that there aren’t more apparent improvements to justify the price. A major feature the original was missing that this is also missing is the ability to not filter on certain sites. Great app & customer service!I was frustrated that several ad blockers and pop-up blockers I had tried couldn’t defeat the sign-in pop-ups from Google that seem to be proliferating on more and more websites, so when I saw Wipr 2’s ad state that it addressed that issue I decided to roll the dice and spend the money on the app. At first it didn’t work for that issue, but I submitted feedback and the amazing developer emailed me right away to suggest a fix, which I did - and then I discovered I also hadn’t set the Safari setting for Content Blockers to be enabled on all websites. Works, Excellent Privacy PolicyI’ve consistently turned my nose up at ad blockers, primarily because they all seemed to be a security/privacy risk, and secondarily because ads help keep the web “free”. But it’s gotten out of control, with bandwidth and battery sucking video ads autoplaying, overlays popping up over text as I’m reading it on my iPhone 13 (with dismiss buttons so small you end up clicking the add instead of the dismissal), and so on. Advertisers have abused their privilege to target me, as far as I’m concerned. What I’ve found here is an ad blocker that works, with minimal set up fuss and an ideal privacy policy. Support Worthwhile DevelopersI’ve been a diehard user of Wipr for a long, long time. I got a new phone today, and learned that there’s a new version of Wipr! I had no idea, because Wipr, the first version, worked seamlessly. You activate it, and forget about it. Probably the best Safari adblockerI decided to give this app a try due to some recent issues with AdGuard Pro/AdGuard for Safari not applying filtering rules correctly and thus allowing ads to slip through (this issue has been open on their GitHub for over a month now). Further, while I love uBlock on my non-Apple devices, uBlock Lite on Safari just wasn’t built for the Apple ecosystem and again, allows ads through unless you give it access to view sites. So I decided to give Wipr a try and so far it’s been fantastic. It’s clearly tailored for the Apple ecosystem and is blocking everything the others were missing - I think I have a new favorite!.SordidCorvidVersion: 2.9.7

Immediately loved it!Very impressed. I just downloaded it and it’s already blocked all the annoying ads from my novel-reading website. Ads used to not bother me so much especially when I could close them. I am not sure what happened recently but there have been a slew of more and more ads that don’t have an option to close and I was getting beyond frustrated. Wipr is the bist!I’ve been using Wipr 1 since release and was so impressed at how well it worked I gave the max tip available. I have no idea how many years I’ve used Wipr 1 (it seems like three or four at least) that when I discovered there was a new version, I immediately purchased it if only to throw some more cash Kaylee’s way. I’ve only used Wipr 2 for one day but it seems to work as good as Wipr 1 (that is to say flawlessly) but I’ll use it a few more days and if it’s solid, I’ll send along the max tip again. Just as good as the first one if not better!!!I’ve had this pre-ordered for the last couple of weeks. I was wondering if this app was ever going to get a major update. This should be everyone’s go to a blocking app for iPhones. It’s simple straight to the point. There’s no confusing settings, and it does what it says it’s going to do. The new major overhaul update is more aesthetically pleasing, and overall provides a better interface as to how the application works. Indispensable ad blocker for SafariI used Wipr “1” for years as a free app. The dev appears to have really poured their heart & soul into Wipr 2. It’s no longer free but 100% worth the small cost. I’ve never seen a problem with the app’s functionality nor it blocking things that caused problems for browsing and the app receives constant updates. I couldn’t browse the web on Safari without it and I have had all my family members running macOS or iOS/iPad OS devices purchase and install it too. Awesome!I saw someone mention this on a tech blog. I'd never heard of it before so I did a little research and loved what I saw. There are several things that caught my attention right away: 1. No subscription! A reasonable and flat fee. 2. Works across all my Apple devices for the single (did I mention reasonable?) price. 3. The developer was very personable in their blog. Seems like they care about what they create. Just installed this and it does everything that was promised. Turned off all the other blockers I had running and installed this. Safari has never run faster and every site I threw at it opened like it was already loaded in the background. It's that good! No ads and it even got rid of the nag screens that some websites use. Great as AlwaysI’ve been using the original Wipr for probably as long as I’ve owned Apple products. It worked as well on the first day as it does now. A few weeks ago when I noticed a version 2 was being released. Preordered. Great thing is that one purchase works everywhere: Mac, iPad, phone. My older iPad is almost unusable without ad-blocking due to how careless websites are now. I primarily use Safari so I trust Wipr and now Wipr 2. Works great, new Filtr is awesome too!With the new feature, it now blocks ads on app games. Those annoying ads, gone. I subscribed - it will probably pay for itself within the month, because I usually get so annoyed I buy the no ads option for games (if they’re under a certain price and I like the game enough). Still the bestWorks and doesn’t require a subscription. What more can you ask? I’ve been using WIPR for years on desktop and mobile. In that time I’ve seem others go from something I purchased to a subscription model, require separate purchase for mac and iPhone, etc. so I am very pleased that the model is still single purchase and no subscription. One very reasonable fee to run on all of my apple devices is a great deal! Best Safari iOS ad blocker Ive ever used, holy cannoliBefore Wipr 2 I was using another ad blocker with a green shield, it worked well but it was heavy and was slowing down browser-based navigation on the world's biggest video platform. Amazing!I have several blockers running and I still see ads on some sites. I saw a recommendation for Wipr 2, so for $4.99 I thought it was worth a shot. What a blessing! Support for the DeveloperFrankly, I haven’t noticed a difference yet (it’s been 2 days since launch), but I loved Wipr, and I wanted to support the developer. Blocks ads very well but missing basic featuresThis is the best iOS adblocker by far in terms of adblocking effectiveness. However there needs to be an easier way to exclude entire websites. Turning off content blockers only works per webpage, and having to go into settings and doing the allow permission trick every time is just incredibly tedious. Also, I noticed this seems to break comment sections in a lot of sites. Just GreatI’ve tried several blocking solutions on various platforms, from ABP and uBO and HOSTS files on Windows to 1Blocker and Adguard Pro on iOS, and in my experience, Wipr (and now Wipr 2) has done a comparatively great job, while being super fast and simple. Once set up, on the test sites I’ve used it blocks as good as any other solution I’ve tried, and better than some of the supposedly more robust offerings. Still AwesomeWipr has been the best content blocker for Safari for years and it’s good to see it at the top of the list as more people install it and become better protected. I hope that trend continues. Benefits: Regular updates, great blocking, excellent privacy policy, responsive developer, and simple install and configuration. Wipr keeps evolving and the developer keeps delivering great work. So, don’t forget to tip from time to time so we can continue to enjoy future updates and innovations. Great app from a great DeveloperIt’s refreshing to know that there are devs out there who care for their users. I’ve been using wipr 2 for a few months now and my browsing is a lot better. Best Ad Blocker I've UsedI've used AdBlock Pro and AdBlocker for Safari. Wipr 2 works best for me. It's sprite and allows sites to load quickly. It also works across all my Apple gear (iPhone, iPads, MacBook, Mac Studio, Mac Mini). It has a nice auto-update feature which keeps its database fresh, too. Great for set-and-forget usersThis is a very easy and simple way to cater to majority of the users who just want to block out the “noise” you get on a lot of the websites. If a website doesn’t load as expected and you suspect it’s due to the extension, you can report it through the “Share” function. Also, just disable the extension for that particular site/page on Safari so that it can work as expected. I think it’s worth the one-time cost. If you like to tinker with the filters..etc this ain’t it but there are a couple of other extensions that offer that option..ChaezeVersion: 2.4

The best ad-blocker for Apple PERIODI’d honestly say outside Ublock-Origin on Chrome (which no longer is supported) Wipr has been the best working ad-blocker out of ALL that I have tested and used over the years. Not sure what it doesFYI, this is my very first Apple Store review but I wanted to share my option in that I am not sure what this thing does because I do not notice any difference with ads. I was initially having issues of no longer being able to browse safari and listen to music at the same time like I have been for years. The ads on the page no longer mute and T which turns off my music. This occurs on nearly every single webpage (I do not have this problem in Chrome) So I actually spent money on this after reading rave reviews. I will say I have just as many ads as I have before, and in some ways it seems like there are more. I still get every popup I did before, and iPhone browses a little slower to boot. Safari still mutes my music when an animated ad is on the webpage, which is the only reason I bought this. I followed and used all of the wipr recommended settings Honestly can say I do not see any difference whatsoever than using the free ad blockers.
