NO Customer ServiceI know it is free but the millions, if not billions it’s raking in seems to me that it could show more help and care for users. I’m finding the search results are not as accurate as they used to be. For me it’s AI suggested ads seem odd and not to my liking. I’m almost clueless when I go in to try to change ad preferences and do you really think users are gonna read through what seems like 25 or 45 clips on types of ads and maybe how to change things?….. is America moves into oligarchy and kleptocracy, and so-called AI ( remember it is ARTIFICIAL ‘intelligence’…..). Sweet memories of Sweet Memories #258 at Eagles Ridge Resort in Pigeon Forge, TNWe have sweet memories of Sweet Memories # 258. We were three generations (8 adults and six children) celebrating grandma and grandpa’s retirement and 40th wedding anniversary. The cabin was perfect; 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms on three floors. Main floor has two bedrooms and two baths with showers, kitchen with 3 chairs at counter, two dining areas, a living room, plus a sitting room which is on one end of one of the dining rooms. This room also has a pull-out couch and TV. Upper level is a spacious master bedroom (king bed) with jacuzzi tub in bedroom and bathroom with two sinks and shower. Lower level has two bedrooms with bathrooms in each room with shower/tub combo. The game room has a pool table, foosball table, arcade games, TV, and a pull-out couch. The large front porch offers lots of space/seating for morning coffee and late night conversation. The cabin was clean. We were pleasantly surprised that even when sitting outside in hot, muggy weather, there were no bugs. The first night we had a problem with the hot tub and someone in our party (a firefighter/EMT) noticed that the smoke detector needed new batteries. We called and help arrived and problems were resolved promptly. Location is perfect—grocery stores are a few minutes away and you don’t have to go to the Parkway to get to them. Dollywood, Dollywood Splash, and Dixie Stampede are all within 15 minutes of the cabin I didn’t know that you need to call to schedule garbage pick- up, but once I figured this out, they come quickly after calling. ReviewI love Google. However, I was searching for my phone number approximately 6 to 8 months ago. Looking for the phone number for Cash App. I clicked on it and called the number thinking I was speaking to Cash App and followed all their instructions. It turns out it was a scam. They got almost $700 form me and every dime I had to my name. I am aware that is my responsibility to do thorough searches prior to hiring a company for any services. This was not the case. I must have googled over 1000 numbers in the past years. I’ve never had this issue before. I understand that Google is not responsible for what happened to me but I feel like if you have the money you can make anything available on Google because Google is out to make money. I really wish that you guys can understand that some of us are older and not as computer savvy as the next person. I didn’t even get to eat that month. I have a hard enough time buying groceries as it is. When you live off $1600 a month and you live in government housing and every single penny matters it would be nice to know that Google didn’t allow just anyone to place a business phone number available for people who may not be as computer savvy as everyone else is in this world. Losing nest thermostat supportAfter moving everything in my home to the Google ecosystem I am now hearing that they are discounting support for the early Nest thermostats. This is awful and just adds fuel to the fire of why people don’t trust Google hardware. To the product and business teams, how often do you “update” your home thermostat if it’s not broken? This is not like a phone, it’s something that most users buy, setup and want it to just work. After getting people to use their Google home app to manage their smart home, why would it seem ok to force early adopters of your thermostats to have to go back to getting up out of bed to adjust their thermostats? While yes the nest thermostat is smart, there are still plenty of times that I want to manually adjust the temp or turn on the heater or A/C. For all those nest customers that need to now go out and buy a new thermostat to maintain the same functionality we’ve had for years, that Ecobee is looking pretty good right now. Bad connectionOk so this problem didn’t happen when I first downloaded this app a long time ago. So every like 8 seconds when I’m on google it says “this webpage is not available” and I keep pressing retry and it does the same thing. I try messing with my WiFi and sometimes it works a little but it’s not working this time. And when I try watching a video on google and make it full screen it rudely kicks me out of the video and says the same message and does the same thing. And another problem is when I’m watching a video on google again and when I slide my finger on the bar that shows how long the video is, the video randomly stops going and no, it’s not because the video is on pause. When that happens I press the pause button and press the play button again and I keep doing that until the video eventually works again but sometimes it doesn’t work and I have to do stuff that resets google like turn the power to my iPad off or double tap my home button and swipe the google square off my screen and go back to the google app. That usually works when I do that but after I do that the screen freezes on google for a minute and then google comes back but if I’m on incognito mode the screen turns black and white like google was made in 1920 but the screen gets normal in a minute but sometimes that doesn’t work just one time and I have to do the same thing to reset google as I mentioned earlier in this paragraph and usually it works the second time but still, both of these problems are very annoying and please try to fix these soon like in a future update. I wouldn’t give this a five star but Obviously this isn’t the worst app ever so I wouldn’t give google a one star. From 5 star to 3 star journeyGoogle has been my go-to application since college. It has tremendously helped me in early 2000s when information was not easily available and I had minimal guidance from my environment . I am very grateful for it. For me it will always be 5 star companion for all the things it has done for me in the past. The reason I am giving 3 star review is in hope that someone from google reads it and understands the urgency of how people like me are going away from google’s AI suite. Gemini is unable to understand despite having so much context from me. The search results are very “static” or “lacking soul” of the context. Even the suggested searches are not up to the mark. I am reporting this because now for everything that needs a little nuance , I go to ChatGPT. As a faithful google user, I hope someone changes that. Recently I was in London and the maps were terrible to follow if you are using multiple mode of transports. The search and recommendations feel like an echo chamber where if you ask for something different , the search engine or Gemini are unable to understand the meaning of what I am asking. It will give results like “meaning of different “. The travel suggestions are so sub par. These are all the things my friends use commonly and such sub par experiences will only push them away from google. Even google voice’s lack of context and silly mistakes with speech recognition and language understanding are difficult to handle anymore (it was recognizing dolphin as killer whale ???). Please do something. Ppl who put 1 star plz readSo number one yes everything is AI because people don’t wanna search up something and then have an actual person. Take a minute and write everything when you try and look for something such as how to calm my dog down a I will put fax and no Google does not have any ads so that is false. Super extremely Lazy customer service . Don’t they clean room everyday . Even if you request .3rd time we stayed here . First stay we were impressed. 2nd stay , I forgot a Mary Kay stuff ( small thing ) called them , female staff said they found it , (pink pouch ) . Drove all the way to claim it , front desk said, they have no idea where it is . And then now, we were on a conference, called the front desk and told her if we can request for cleaning , she said “ We do cleaning every other day , let me check if your room is schedule for cleaning” told her we just checked in last night. Google image search w/ AII literally can’t tell you how many times the Google image search with the AI mode. Option has made my life so much easier and saved me many headaches and bouts of frustration! Google is my number one go to when I need to know “what something is“, “how it works“, or when I’m just curious about something random that I see and wonder to myself, “WTH is this thing? Good, but with lingering issues that need workWhile I usually start with this app when I do a search, I still get frustrated with several features that I wish Google would improve. First of all, I frequently experience page crashes or continuous reloads with certain websites that are likely not optimized for mobile. However, if I open them in Safari, they generally work fine. Also, I wish I could choose when to refresh the front-page articles instead of the app deciding for me. Sometimes a link takes me to another app, and when I return to the Google app, the articles have all changed. If there was a story I wanted to check out, I’m out of luck unless I can remember the details to do another search. They also appear to have changed to infinite scrolling on the main page, which I dislike. Finally, while the iPhone version lets me interact with the AI search results, there’s no option to do so with the iPad app. The AI results will even ask me what I want to do next, but there’s no way to type anything to continue the conversation. Amazing small businessI would like to start by saying that I dont this level of customer service from online purchases very often. I have made 4 purchases from MJ at Outpost Pottery and all have been great quality. The tile spinner allows me to use tiles for bats at $.78 per tile at Home Depot. It holds the tile in place perfectly. I have made about 20 pieces and the tile spinner has worked properly every time. I ordered profile ribs that are of great quality. Best Day(s) Ever at Westmeister FarmWestmeister Farms is THE place to be if farm living and animals are your thing! We drove 2-1/2 hours each way to get there! Twice. We did the Capybara Experience and The Otter Swim! There aren’t enough adjectives to describe how wonderful it was and not enough heart emojis to fully describe the emotional experience! The animals are well cared for and loved. I was hesitant when I first read about it because so many of these places exploit the animals. Not Westmeister. It’s very clear they love these creatures and the animals get to decide the experience. Nothing is forced on them. Best of all for both of our experiences we were lucky enough to have Stormy as our guide. She is also the head zoologist there!!! She made the fun filled time educational as well! Terrible UpdateThis last update has really messed everything up. The app doesn’t load completely and when I type in the search bar nothing happens. I cannot access the saved pages, which is also a problem. I use this app frequently and it was working perfectly. I cannot roll back to the previous version on my iPad so I’m stuck with this mess. I had scheduled an appointment for a fireplace inspection and dryer vent inspection. The time frame was Noon -2:00. These guys phoned me before Noon, they were 20 minutes away. They arrived promptly at Noon, wearing masks and were ready for work. I have an indoor Savannah Kitty, she is a ‘sniffer. These guys were so nice, they let ‘Gracie’ sniff their hands, clothes and YEP, even their faces & hair!!! They had to go in & out of the house several times and were very conscientious, saying “Don’t let Gracie out.” Gracie followed them around as they were doing a very efficient job all the while keeping Gracie in the mix. Even when they brought the big Shop-Vac in, Gracie had to check it out and they were just so pleasant, including Gracie in their work, by talking to her. There are times when you have home repairs or maintenance done and You are just waiting around, waiting for them to do their work and leave. These two guys are efficient, explain things and Very Polite! Including Gracie, was so Sweet! I offered to close her in a room. They said “Oh No. She is fine, she is not a problem!” They finished their inspection in less than an hour. It was a ‘pleasant’ experience for both Me AND Gracie. What a beautiful day!We toured to Otranto, Castro, Santa Maria di Leuca, Gallipoli and more. We also stopped for a few photo opts. The driver Marcello was very good. He spoke a little English but with our phones we had no trouble communicating. I am learning Italian and he helped me to pronounce correctly. We had a few laughs. Our lunch was very good and the views all day were breathtaking!!! Marcello is an excellent driver. He is courteous and friendly. The van was very comfortable. Please Stop!I love my Google app, I use it constantly, but the one thing that really bothers me is every time you put out an update you move buttons around. Specifically the image search button, only because I use it often, probably 20+ times a day, but this applies to other buttons too. I do appreciate that you update the app often, but every single time you put out an update the buttons are moved. I just get used to where a new location is and the next update you move them again. Basic and sillyFirst off, the products google make are great so it’s shocking how bad this app is. Lately I can’t even add a chromecast or google hub without issues on my iPhone (use to work). If you are using an iPhone.. don’t setup google devices using it because it won’t work! This Took me forever to troubleshoot.. but basically you get a “cannot join” or connection failed” error and then your stuck without being able to add the google device to this app. So it’s not a connection issue... it’s this app and it’s only an issue on the iPhone app where as it won’t let you finish the setup process when adding a new google device. It’s a big deal for sure and seems to be specific to the app version made for iPhone only. So I pulled out my iPad and sure enough..everything connected just fine using that iPad app. Clearly google dev needs to push an update cause this seems like a huge problem for most of us. Now back to the app, it’s lacking major features like the ability to go into the settings of each device and change things like the network it should join or the signal/WiFi strength. They could add some nice basic information like that about devices and usage etc but they don’t and the devices are a pain to organize. You should just be able to click on a device and move it to a room and orange things like tiles instead of making everything require multiple clicks. Also certain things like changing networks on a device is a huge pain. You have to remove the device and re-add it or else it won’t work. So that could probably be made easier. PLEASE fix the Home Screen bug!Love Google but two things are making me crazy right now…the latest bug that has the story cards going up to the top of the screen and under the Google logo and search bar so I cannot read what they are (iPad) and the lack of customization for the cards themselves. The most expensive hotel in HanoiWe were convinced by our travel agent, my world travel that we should end our one month trip to Vietnam and Cambodia at the Capella Hotel in Hanoi. Used to be my favorite app!Google search used to be my favorite app. However, I recently deleted it due to several app update changes. First, they changed the image search and can now only see small images, whereas you used to be able to click on the image and see them in FULL screen. I understand the need for a change as they got sued by Getty Images, but I doubt just making the images smaller or not allowing images to be viewed full screen will remedy copyright infringement (how about allowing full screen viewing but with transparent copyright info at the bottom of the image). Next after one of the recent updates, every website I visit is FILLED with ads. I understand the need to sell adds as Google is a business and needs to generate revenue, but after this recent update it’s been taken to the extreme. As an example I was searching for a bike for my daughter and now every time I visit a website, I see the same bike shop ad after every couple of sentences and can hardly navigate the website (many of the websites prior to the update didn’t even have ads). I found a solution to the adds by searching in incognito mode, but then you can’t have multiple pages open and, of course, there’s no search history. On top of that, I now keep getting internal server errors. Finally, I’m just not a fan of internet censorship, regardless of political alliances. I am an adult and can make my own content decisions and don’t need Google deciding what I can and cannot view (they’re acting like a dictatorship country and/or a content moderator). Considering other search enginesI’ve been a loyal Google user since basically day one of search engines, but I gotta say, I’m currently considering switching to something else. Getting extremely tired of all the sponsored results whenever I search for something. It used to be one or two top results, now I’ve having to scroll endlessly to get to what isn’t a bought result. But on top of that, I’ve found while traveling abroad that the accuracy of the search engine is even *more* suspect, to the point of being just completely wrong. So many times when we’d be searching for restaurants to eat at or things to do in an area, those places would be closed when listed as open, or in searching it would just list the same results every time we refined our search, to the point of being utterly useless. It’s also completely skewed towards your own localization, clearly, because we’d always only net tourist attractions pretty much no matter what we searched for. Not to mention how Google Maps (either directly through that app itself or through a search result found in this one) would provide roundabout, nonsensical directions. It would send you in a massive loop despite there actually being a direct road displaying in the interface, with no real world reason for why not to just take the direct route. UselessThere has been a massive drop-off in quality in the past few iterations of this app. What used to be a straightforward app now is plagued by issues like not being able to show simple web pages. If you search for a result, like the news, and you click on one, first the ads will show and then the article, maybe. What it does is that it opens at the bottom of the page first and you have to scroll all the way to the top to read what the article says. Then if the site has a cookie overlay or banner, it just makes the whole thing not work because it won't show those banners. It just shows as a blank page and you have to go back and then in certain cases open it in Safari so you can toggle the stupid cookie banners, which let's be honest has ruined the experience of surfing the web. The app has also changed the way it searches for articles or news; everything just links to Twitter now. The sites are not usable on the home page; it's not finding stuff relevant to my taste anymore. Overall this app is not what it used to be. Terrible app, use another search engine.This app is horrible, for google especially, as I use it as my primary search engine on the computer. Make Ai Overview Optional 😭I have switched to DuckDuckGo for most searches purely bc of how obnoxious AI overview is. On my laptop I can at least install extensions to remove AI overview but to my knowledge this is impossible on Mobile. AI overview slows down website load time, takes up too much space, and is often confidently incorrect about search inquiries. I’ve asked it if a restaurant I was looking at in a foreign country had delivery and it said no when it did. Having an extended warranty I am dealing with the newly owned Doggett for service and I can say this is the worst service I have ever experienced. The people are extremely rude.
