EyeQue PVT: Mobile Vision Test App Comments & Reviews

EyeQue PVT: Mobile Vision Test Positive Reviews

SkepticalPurchased PVT as my prescription from last year resulted in getting glasses that did not work well. Left eye fine but right eye not as focused. Also could not get eyes to synchronize very well on an image despite having PD measured at the optical shop. Multiple tests on PVT resulted in fairly consistent measurements despite getting messages from app that measurements not consistent. Not sure why. Results also seemed very different from opthalmologists results. Despite this new glasses ordered and to my surprise vision much better than the other glasses/eyes synchronized. I have done more testing again and found the app updated. When reviewing prior tests the saved results on the app do not match up with the readings that I saved to my phone. Dates and times match but EGNs do not. Emailed customer support but have not gotten a response to that question yet. Some measurements with new app have been inconsistent with other results although latest one taken was spot on with the EGN used to order latest glasses. Overall pleasantly surprised by the results obtained but still concerned with some inconsistencies. Will keep testing!.Version: 2.1.2

Seems to workThis seems to work. I needed new glasses badly and can’t get an appointment for several months. It’s not the easiest to do but if you take your time you can get thru it. So my new glasses arrived today. I am pleasantly surprised that the prescription is quite good. My vision is much better than my old prescription. I was very skeptical since it came out way different from my old scrip. I did test six times. I recommend testing as many times as you can stand and take your time doing it. I have an appointment with an optometrist in a month and I will see where their prescription fall into place. My only reason for four stars and not five is that the testing process is very tedious. My eyes are really bad. It probably would be easier for someone with better vision to start with.Version: 2.3.1

Even wowed an optometrist! After reading mixed reviews and trying the app out myself, I wanted to set the record straight. So at first I had an issue getting the app to run. I found a chat box on their website and got help right away. The person instructed me to force close and reopen the app - sounded too simple for a solution but it worked! Kudos to the guy who helped me! Turns out this app was easy to use, pretty straight forward, and my results were spot on to my doctor’s prescription on one eye, and off by 0.25 on the other. After talking with my neighbor (she’s an optometrist), she said that difference is probably unnoticeable and she was impressed at the accuracy! Based on this, I ordered a pair of glasses and they work perfectly! The app worked well for me, bummer for those having problems. Perhaps they should have tried contacting customer support before giving up? Just saying....Version: 1.5.0

Decent but unsure of accuracyDecent and simple overall, but I haven’t checked the accuracy with a recent eye exam. Suggestions: 1. Would it make sense to tell the user how to retake a test if he/she forgets to rotate the eyepiece? I can see this would be one reason to have a b/t version, for positive assurance the test is being taken properly, as I felt that could be a large source of error. 2. Another thing would be a reminder why it’s still important to see a ”trained professional “ to check for other issues, like glaucoma, etc. in other words, this would be a good time to” lean in “ to educating the user. 3. You should give the user an idea of how often to repeat this” exam .” Among other things, that helps validate the user’s purchase. 4. Also, are there sectors in society unable to get proper tests, where this might be invaluable? What about leaning in to that and having a donate-now button to support sending these to an appropriate organization? The Lions club is into donating glasses, so that may be a natural fit. And this will help “get the word out” and give you an even greater impact, besides increasing your perceived “good will.” Again, good start, and best wishes! Thanks for the sample at CES2023..Version: 2.3.3

Work wellI’ve used the EyeQue Vision Check for a few years and it works quite well. You do need to practice in order to get your eye aligned properly to view both lines. But, once you do that, it’s pretty quick. I also have the PD check, which is better than what is done by an optician just visually. I ordered glasses online a couple of years ago using what I got from EyeQues and they were far better than the ones that I got at the optometrist. My only issue is that I cannot order try-on glasses with the correct PDs from EyeQue because mine are not equal. I learned the hard way that just dividing the total PD by 2 does not work. The last time I got glasses at the optometrist, it took four visits to get my glasses right. In the end, the PDs were the issue..Version: 2.3.1

Cool concept and convenientThis app is super cool and seems pretty accurate. I misunderstood the directions for my first test and the practice test before this, so I have had to take a few additional tests (my results were not consistent after I started testing the correct way). I have another to do, but the results seem close to my prescription once I started doing it right! It’s nice that I can do this on my own time from home, rather than having to go through the process at an optometrist’s office. Very convenient. Took a star off the review because I couldn’t delete my first test result!.Version: 2.1.4

Skeptical at firstI was skeptical at first I took the practice test several times in order to learn how to properly use the eye check device. After taking multiple tests at different times of the day and getting a steady average I went ahead and ordered my glasses. I could actually see better with my new glasses straight out of the box than I have ever been able to after a visit to the eye doctor. You have to take multiple tests and and learn how to properly use the device. I will still go to the eye doctor for an annual check up but I will be using this app to get my prescription and order my glasses..Version: 2.2.8

Works well, but could use improvementsThis app and device work well to precisely measure my distance vision prescription (which I compared to my prescription from 6mos. ago). However, I wear bifocals and the app can't measure my near field vision (probably because it's refractive error is far less than that of my distance vision). It would be great if there was a second set of tests that can help measure the change in both fields of vision for bifocal users. It could also let someone know if they need to talk to their doctor about getting bifocals..Version: 1.2.0

Good way to check your eyesI never used glasses before. So, I was not sure what to expect from this device. I was starting to have some blurry view for look at the computer screen. So, I decided to try the PVT to see what kind of results would be achieved. I did several tests separated by different days to see what kind of results it would give me. When I saw that the results were similar, I decided to get a pair of glasses. I was not sure how accurate it would be, as when I looked at the results there were mixed results registered. I am glad to say that the glasses that I ordered worked perfectly. I can see clearly when looking at the computer screen with small letters. I’m happy with the results and will keep doing the vision test regularly to check when it will be time to get new glasses. Hope this helps Roberto.Version: 2.2.9

Multiple testsConcerned regarding testing as at times I struggle to see the two colors. I have to manipulate the scope to see the colors to be able to get them to merge. As such I’m concerned regarding the accuracy. That said I had ordered glasses based on the numbers previously and was pleased with the results! Will keep testing and order new glasses soon..Version: 2.2.9

It does the job!I got this when it first came out. It is a bit tricky to figure out how to use it, but once you do, it isn’t hard. I have a strong prescription and my vision is very important in my occupation as a general surgeon. The eyeglass numbers are very accurate. I have purchased several pairs of eyeglasses with numbers generated by this system. I love it..Version: 2.3.1

Neat device!I am really impressed with the Personal Vision Tracker Plus and the EyeQue app. I have received consistent results with each eye test. I was skeptical to try, but I am glad I did. This is a great way to test your vision quickly from the convenience of your home. I also love that the app is free and that it tracks your eye test history. Great product!.Version: 2.2.9

Giving it a trySaw a review on CNET about EyeQue and decided to give it a try. Once I figured out how to use the PVT it was easy to use and the voice instructions when doing the test was every helpful and easy to follow. I’m going to run it one more time just to make sure I did it correctly before I order a pair glasses..Version: 2.1.4

It worked!I’ve been home bound for the last 12 years. In that time, my glasses got really out of date. I got this scope thingy and did the test about ten times to build up a solid average. I got glasses with the result and could see better! My left eye remained at 20/25 while my right improved from 20/32 to 20/20!.Version: 2.1.3

Pretty goodHad difficulty getting my eye close enough to the device to see both red & blue lines simultaneously. Had to press the device very firmly into my eye to achieve this. It was not comfortable! The script generated by the app was compared to a professional exam 12 hours later. The spherical difference was .25, cylinder difference was .5 and axis difference was negligible at 2 degrees..Version: 2.2.1

Better than an office visitYou get to take your time deciding when the lines are adjusted correctly instead of the office experience of “what’s better, 1 or 2?! 1 or 2!!” 3 out of 4 times I’ve had an incorrect Rx from the optometrist. I feel much more confident in this method of doing it yourself, patiently..Version: 2.2.1

InaccurateI’ve done the tests 10+ times, and each time it shows my prescription as 1 dioptre off for each eye. It also does not show my astigmatism. I’ve gone through all of the instructions, all of the tutorials, yet it still shows a very inaccurate prescription. It must be a problem with my eyes, I’m not sure. But all I know is that I did in fact did do the test correctly..Version: 1.4.2

Not bad, but...I have some health issues that make my vision change quickly and this app with the device isn’t bad in giving me an idea if my vision is changing. I follow up with visits to my real eye doctor though to check for stigmatism, cataracts and other issues related to vision problems, and I’d never actually trust the findings that this app and its companion device provide, to actually purchase a pair of glasses based on the self/exam you do with product. It runs well on my iPhone 7 Plus running IOS 11.2 and the app isn’t “buggy” as other reviewers seem to experience... But don’t rely on this for serious issues mentioned above to include glaucoma and problems with vision related to MS..Version: 1.4.2

Fingers (eyes??) crossedThe app is super easy to use. I love that you can get a trial pair or a cheap pair to test your prescription before you invest a huge amount of money. Sidenote, when they say to ‘rotate’ they mean the cylinder not your entire phone ha ha Ha (Ask me how I know ... derp).Version: 2.2.2

Great idea, decent usabilityThis is a super product idea and I was excited to try. Instructions and app format are solid. The main difficulty I had was being able to see both lines in each test level. I moved the device around as told, but still had trouble. When I was able to see it functioned well. I will update once I get my glasses..Version: 2.2.1

Doesn’t work anymoreAfter the last update it doesn’t work anymore on my iPhone 6. It was ok before, but now the app crash and it won’t show anything. Please do something about it. Also I will like if it show a little astigmatism on one eye please include it. Before it will show a little on the picture, but nothing on the prescription..Version: 1.4.0

Wow!It takes some time to get used to but the practice session was super helpful. I just ordered glasses and they are PERFECT! Again, takes a little time but it’s worth not having to leave my house (especially during these times)..Version: 2.1.1

Have used for several years! After several years I just am amazed how accurate this is. Works great. I would definitely buy again!.Version: 2.3.0

Works GreatI find the PVT easy to use. I get reproducable results. Glasses using the results have been spot on. I check for changes once a month..Version: 2.2.9

Took some practiceThe problem was user error. Once I got the hang of it, it was quick and fun. I’m looking forward to replacing my broken glasses without going in during COVID pandemic!.Version: 2.2.5

Worked perfectly.Must take at least one full test before ordering glasses. Worked perfectly. New prescription is excellent. Worth every Penney..Version: 2.1.4

Your pace. Your precisionI loved aspects of eyeque because you can take your time and dial in your answers at your personal comfort level! Thx. Can’t wait to get my glasses.Version: 2.1.4

App works wellThe app works as expected, was a bit slow on my older iPhone5 (probably because of the phone) but it’s great on the x..Version: 1.5.0

Amazing tech appI’m so impressed by how technologically advanced this device is and how well it syncs to the app as well. So accurate and fast to test your eye sight and to order new glasses! A+++¥+.Version: 2.2.1

Easy to use!Very intuitive, easy to get your numbers Worked great.Version: 2.2.9

App works greatI used this app to get my eye prescription so I could order new glasses. Much cheaper than going to the optometrist and my new glasses are perfect!.Version: 1.2.0

Learning curve but helped me a lot!!There is a learning curve, but after that really useful tool!.Version: 2.2.9

Nice test flowA friend gave it to me and asked me to give it a try. The app runs well and the voice over is nice and helpful. Great app for eye test!!!.Version: 1.6.5

Troy JAs other users have stated, it takes time to master the process. But, it was right on with my script. I've tested my gf & it was perfect with her as well. Love it!!!.Version: 1.2.0
