Whole Eats App Comments & Reviews

Whole Eats Positive Reviews

Needs More FeaturesHi, this is my first day using the app so don’t have a lot of feedback in terms of the food search. However it would be really helpful if you could add some other features. 1) The ability to keep track of the foods you ate during the day and not just look them up. There’s no sense of satisfaction of just looking at something but not being able to hit the “add” button. For example I ate something that wasn’t whole30 but didn’t realize it. I would still want to be able to add it so I know for the future. And then have the option to reset to day 1, for example. 2) Also would be great if we could mark certain foods as favorite so we always know if it’s an approved food without having to look it up each time. When you eat a variety of foods, it’s easy to forget what’s approved or not. 3) And also a notes feature would be helpful..Version: 1.2.7

Whole 30 has changed my life and this app has simplified the change! When I started Whole 30 I was a little frustrated with having to constantly check Google for approved ingredients. My Whole 30 partner found this app and POOF problem solved. This app changed everything. With a simple search or a scan I immediately know if a product is compliant. So easy! I also love the grocery list feature. I have completely stopped forgetting things when I go to the store (I also list other non Whole 30 products on there like garbage bags or whatever). It’s even made shopping with the kiddos easier! The kids love being in charge of the phone while we shop so they can search, scan, and delete items once the item has been put in the cart. Thank you for this ingenious app! Meagan and family.Version: 1.2.8

Needs one improvementApp works great except that when all subcategories of a group are not allowed it should tell you that before you have to go into each category individually. When I scan a product and it has 15 different versions or flavors of that product, it’s such a waste of time to go into every one only to find that ALL of them are not allowed. Just tell me up front!!!.Version: 1.2.4

Simple and convenient! Love this appI love this app and don’t know what I would do without it!! They have all ingredients that are whole 30 approved or not approved, which is great for a quick look up while you are in the store! Also if there is something you come across that isn’t on there which is rare, you can tell them and they will add it! Also has a daily tip/ motivation and a countdown on how many days you have left. Thank you for this app. I haven’t found any other app that compares. Just the right information too! No extra meaningless info. I like how simple it is.Version: 1.3.0

Good App - Lame Daily EncouragementFirst of all, let me be clear, we should not find our sole encouragement during Whole30 from a phone app. Regardless, it should have a little more thought and time put it into it then several days of practically the same saying reworded. Use facts about what the body is/should be experiencing and tell the user these things. Then round it out with genuine encouragement. As for the ingredient search and the package finder, they are great qualities of the app. I've had nothing but success with either of those things. That's the main reason why the price is justified..Version: 1.2.1

UI Needs Much ImprovementWould prefer the app to open with a search and not lengthy scrollable text (not important). Buttons would be phenomenal as opposed to navigating a menu bar (important). Most importantly, I would value the option to add an ingredient from the search directly to my grocery list. For example, if I discover that salmon is compliant, I could tap a plus sign and add it to my list, rather than have to navigate to a different menu and input salmon all over again. Then go back to search for another and repeat. For looking up additives, though, it is incredibly useful. Looking forward to updates!.Version: 1.2.7

Decent App OverallDecent app overall. I like the 30 day countdown. Also, the scan and search feature is nice. They have a recipe section, as well. I appreciate the recipe option, however, there is an annoying Instagram pop up in the recipe section. I understand the recipe section works better with Instagram, but I don’t want to do Instagram. It continually pops up with each recipe, as I’m trying to read it. When I select the back button, it does nothing. If I hit it more than once, it takes me to the home screen. If this issue can be corrected, I’d be happy to give five stars..Version: 1.2.5

It’s okay, room for improvementI’m just starting out and this is definitely better than nothing! But most of what I’m scanning isn’t in the database so I haven’t been able to rely on the barcode feature. (Trader Joe’s, for example) The barcode was my main reason for purchasing so in that regard I’m a little bummed. Some ideas: - I mostly shop at Trader Joe’s for whole30 and very few of the foods I scanned were in the database. An option for user submitted foods could help build the database? - I’d love a way to choose my landing page for when I open the app. At launch, it’s on the welcome page. Then I need to select the menu bar before I can get anywhere. - a counter or countdown on the app’s badge, or a widget, that shows what day you’re on would be cool! I think this app has real promise, especially if the barcode scanner works with significantly more food items.Version: 1.2.2

Not alway rightThis app came in handy at the store and wasn’t sure about something- and saved time not having to read labels as much. That is, until half way through my whole 30 I realized it said things were approved that really aren’t. Larabars with vanilla extract aren’t allowed and the app says they are. ? Makes me wonder what else wasn’t right. I see now that’s a pretty basic no-no. Another thing is a lot of items aren’t in the database. It’s getting there, but needs better accuracy and time to build the database up..Version: 1.1.3

A Must Have to understand the PlanI love this app for its completeness. I never really understood the program but this makes it easy. The only criticism I have is that when I pay for an app, I don’t expect ads to pop up. These are annoying since they pop up covering content. I would certainly pay more for an ad free version. The app itself, however, is excellent..Version: 1.2.1

New to Whole 30As a person just starting Whole 30, (I’m on Day Six), this app has been a life-saver. The best feature by far is the package scanner. There are so many confusing rules on what to eliminate that without this app, I’m afraid I would find this food plan too difficult to follow. There are still many foods the app does not recognize, but overall, it is a great tool..Version: 1.2.1

Good but sometimes inaccurateThis is a good idea. I started scanning some of my canned food to see if it was compliant with the app. Some I expected to be compliant and they were. Some I expected NOT to be compliant and they were. But there were also NOT compliant foods coming back compliant! My example was a can of beans. In addition, the food database needs to be updated with more food. I like the application. It just needs to mature and fix the bugs. Thanks for the app team..Version: 1.0.6

Essentially just a product barcode scannerWhile the daily affirmations are helpful and accurate (“Day 4 you will likely feel hungover”), this app is mostly a product barcode scanner. So if you’re looking for recipes or an exhaustive list of approved foods, your best bet is Google. Overall, I am happy with this app and would purchase again..Version: 1.2.8

Would be better if the barcode feature worked properlyBought this app so I could scan items in the grocery store and literally everything I scan says it cannot be found. So I primarily use the recipe and ingredient search feature which are both solid. Worth the money but am rating it 3 stars because the feature I downloaded the app for doesn’t work..Version: 1.2.2

Thank youI really do like your app! It’s simplicity makes its easy to use, my only recommendation would be to have a option to log how you are feeling on that day! Yes you say how we’re supposed to feel but every one is different and it would be great to have everything together to reference back. Thank you for this it’s truly wonderful..Version: 1.2.4

UpdatesI think this is a great app, when it comes to scanning to see if items are approved, however as new foods come out or labels being updated I have found the app will not scan or stay item not found. How does the developer ensure the application is updated?.Version: 1.3.8

Camera/Scanning issuesI love having the app to help me while I am working through my first whole30. However, the camera feature to scan bar codes is very touchy and does not scan things easily or all items. Very frustrating..Version: 1.3.1

ReviewI was really excited about this app, kinda skeptical with spending 2.99 without a trial. But I hate that you can’t favorite a recipe and it will automatically add it to your shopping list. It just takes you to the whole 30 Instagram...I can do that on my own which was disappointing. Hopefully the scanner will be useful but reading some of the review who knows how good it will be..Version: 1.2.5

Love it! Very helpfulMakes Whole30 much easier!! Thank you!! I was so frustrated looking up ingredients at the store. Also it's nice having everything in one place. The developer is good at making updates. I had feedback and they fixed it very quickly. Thanks.Version: 1.1.4

Ok but could be betterA helpful app but only finds 20-30% of products I scanned. The search by text doesn’t show product brand. The UI could use some tweaks that would make it more user friendly. To developers: Thank you for creating this app. It has potential. I’m a UX designer and would love to help you make this better. Reach out if you’re interested..Version: 1.2.4

Saved me several times! To me the best part of the app is checking labels for compliance. I’ve come too close to purchasing compliant-looking products, only to discover they have one or more restricted ingredients..Version: 1.3.1

Pretty good app. Worth the $Doesn’t have every commercial food but it’s very handy for those that it does have. I found it much easier to scan the barcode and see it on the screen them to try to read the tiny ingredient labels..Version: 1.2.1

Not exactly what I had hopedI have my start date of Whole 30 for Sunday, July 8th. I thought I would just test it with some of the poor choices I have at home currently. Potato chips can be approved based on the contents...I’ll just need to avoid them..Version: 1.2.1

Helpful for quicker grocery shoppingHelpful app but I’d like to see more brand barcodes added. There’s been quite a few times when I scan a product and it’s listed as ‘Not Found’. The app overall is user friendly..Version: 1.2.9

Waste of moneyThis app is a waste of money because all of the information can be easily found online. I love how the app connects you to an Instagram account. Like I didn’t need an app to do that, I was already following the app. Also what if you don’t have IG? I expected way more from this app and am hugely disappointed. I want a refund!.Version: 1.2.4

Paying for ads? This app has some good recipes although some that claim to be whole 30 compliant are not. It’s also super annoying that I paid for the app but there are still pop up ads. And they’re not even remotely related. I wish whole30 actually made an app. This one strives to cover many different diet plans..Version: 1.2.1

74 and using Whole 30The concept is very functional for seniors interested in another approach to a healthy eating routine. The shopping list is best for me and clean eating: maintaining healthy numbers all around have been very helpful. Will continue endlessly..Version: 1.1.3

Perfect app for first time Whole30I decided one day I was going to start Whole30 the next day and I was probably only able to do this because of this app. Love how user friendly it is. Would recommend to anyone who is considering Whole30!!! Thank you!.Version: 1.2.1
