Very functional but with addsThe app itself is very good; it seems to control the tv better than the actual remote. As many reviews point out it’s just funny that it must be purchased for $1.99 to not have constant advertisements that need closed EVERY time you go to use it. If you have any use for this app then it you already purchased a tcl tv for at least a couple hundred dollars so it seems a little low that they want you to pay for this app for full functionality. Decent appI downloaded the app and it works great for controlling my tv. Decided to pay the $2.99 fee to stop the constant ads and that was supposed to be a one time fee but that ended up not being the case. Weirdly not responsive for Netflix appI have the paid version, so no issues with ads. What is strange is that specifically for Netflix, the remote has connection issues. It will work fine for a minute or two, but then when trying to scroll through the Netflix menu, it "freezes", and tells you to make sure you are connected to WiFi for at least 30 seconds. VERY FRUSTRATED!!!!!It is way too many ads. When u are trying to move over a space all of a sudden an add pops up very frustrating. It would work a lot butter if the ads came on when u opened the app only not while u r trying to move to the next movie or trying to play it. It’s a lot easier to just buy a new remote because after 10 seconds of not using it my phone locks up and then I have to sign in all over again watch an ad and then when I’m trying to find another movie watch another add. Used to work perfectly, but now barely ever connects to my TVs.I’ve used this app for years. Was happy to pay for the no ads.
