Jack in the Box® Order App Positive Reviews
Pleasantly SuprisedJack-In-The-Box to me has always been mediocre. I honestly believe almost every other fast food burger joint is better, especially in terms of the quality of the product. However, I will say they are doing a good job with their app. The interface is fluid and simple. I like that they integrated delivery as well. The feature helps a lot in regards to situations where there aren’t freelance delivery drivers(Doordash, Grub Hub, PostMates, UberEats) around. However, here are some things I would recommend, but didn’t feel were critical enough to cost the review a start from the 5/5. The app automatically removes your card information if something goes wrong with the payment or if you type something in wrong. This gets annoying after awhile. Secondly, the app will prevent you from placing an order if you made too many errors in too short of a time period which has literally prevented me from buying food here just because I typed in some incorrect details. Lastly, I don’t understand why they want a tip for delivery with the service fee being so high. I ordered a $10 meal and paid $4 for delivery and $7 for a service fee. I’m not sure what I’d be tipping for..EliteWhopperVersion: 3.0.1
May these 2 suggestions be helpful. As Jack in the Box needs no introduction, this review is solely about options missing in the current version of the app. Otherwise, it’s a decent app, navigation is great. Not all options are intuitive, but it is not hard to figure out either. I also like that Jack in the Box provides several discounted items and sometimes even free items in the app. With notification on, I was able to take advantage of these offers. However, I cut down 2 stars because I feel 2 very useful and easily implementable options are missing.
1. A way to favorite all my customized foods. Currently, one can have only one favorite and that will be the entire order you placed. Not just a particular item. I customize many of my items, for example, I like Swiss cheese and tomatoes in my chicken sandwich. For now, I have to do the customization every single time I order. I wish I could save the item in favorites and order through click of a button.
2. There is no way to have multiple payment options. You can store only one card at a time. If the app doesn’t want to give the option of adding multiple sources of payment, there should at least be an Apple Pay option, where customers can choose their preferred card.
Hopefully, in the next version the developers have incorporated these. I think these could be very helpful and make life a bit easier, than having to customize every time nor to punch in a different card numbers at times..Joe_nadVersion: 2.8.1
App doesn't function at allAs of October 2022, the app doesn't function at all. When I open it, all that comes up is a blank white screen. The one time I did get something to open I couldn't search a location and turning on location services did nothing either. Since the app updated about two or more weeks ago it's been totally unusable. Jack in the Box went from having one of the smoothest user friendly apps to the absolute worst. They also used to have new offers and online exclusives every month but they already stopped providing those for the past several months before updating the app which was disappointing but at least I could still order online and earn points. Now I can't do anything. Hopefully they update their app or go back to the one they had before. Whoever decided this new app was a good idea should be fired and whoever designed it should provide JBOX a refund instantly unless they are intentionally trying to deter people from mobile orders..ImtheshizzniyeeVersion: 5.0.1
ComplaintYour company does not enough employees to help driver thru oders mobile app orders curb side orders and door dash an Uber let alone you put a kiosk in the store but that is making people not get any help whatsoever ever you walk in and you are greeted but that’s about it you have all these people in the store line waiting for there order order meanwhile a mobile order will walk in and get there order fast why because every single employee working behind the counter are doing door dash orders uber orders mobile app and driver through and not to mention mention people in the store waiting for there orders ridiculous!!!!You don’t have enough employees to serve all these services and the employees you have working are like Slaves having to hear all the complaints because Jack In the box you cannot all and complaint I am complaining about Jack in the Box company not there employees. Shame on you for putting these employees in the position that your company needs to resolve not Them!!!!!!!.SupercalifratulousVersion: 2026.3
Disappointed.I live in Waco, Texas. I’m not sure if this problem exists in other parts of the state or States, but when I try ordering from two locations near campus via the app, I receive this message: “Dang it! An error occurred while processing your request! Please try again. We’ll cross our fingers this time.” I’ve gone to their website to fill out the “Contact Jack” form to provide information on previous issues, but I feel like as if I’ve never been acknowledged and heard. This time wasn’t any different, I even reached out to JITB’s Twitter direct message option, but I was never answered. Overall, I had issues with the app, couldn’t talk to anybody, and never was responded to to talk about and try resolving said problems, and I just didn’t think that was cool. I like JITB and my loyalty holds strong, but it’d be a lot cooler if they actually cared, for lack of a better term, and I could actually reap the benefits of using the app..DOGZ146Version: 2.7.0
Bang for your buck!Seriously, EVERYONE loves J in the B even if it’s a “guilty pleasure” you’ve had to have indulged at some point. Like everything else in our lives, things change. Prices have increased for everything (I don’t care about your politics) across the board. You might go by JItB’s and be like “dang, that’s crazy, it used to be only (insert old price here)!!” Well, good news, this app is a time warp and if you just go with the righteous deals they allow and offer, you’ll be coming back to drink from this fountain of youth. Plus, the food is even better nowadays (in my opinion of course), core faves are alive and well. But if you’re still down with Jack as always, like me and aren’t using this app, learn from your mistakes and correct what you can, there’s still time to change the road you’re on. Love this app. In large part cause I love food..JoeyfromtheHVersion: 4.3.6
Needs some convenience improvementsLet me say I’m not trying to be negative in this review. The app works fine if you’re ordering for you and you only. The “just for you” picks can be a little weird sometimes but I’ve picked them many times. My biggest complaint is that I order for myself and family, and the most convenient thing for us to do is to have both credit cards on whichever fast food place we go to. Jack has always replaced one card for another though, which means we have to re input the card details every time we switch off who’s paying. More than a little bit inconvenient for something that’s supposed to be faster than going to the window to order. I’ve looked at the account settings and tried adding a card “on file”, but it still just replaces every time, and there’s even a warning saying the previous card will be replaced, along with a message that says “you have no card on file” when you go to add a new one. I’ve tried to add a card, Jack, stop looking at me like that!!.Auroya SVersion: 2.7.0
No more rewards or offersSince they’ve updated the up, the whole thing is glitchy! Sometimes you get to see your points and offers but most times you don’t. Also, if you try logging in to the website, it won’t let you. I’ve changed my password multiple times and it still won’t let me log in. Furthermore, when you contact their customer support “hey jack”, you get a generic “clear your cache, uninstall, reinstall, shebil and it’s always by some person named Mendi. I’ve complained x3 saying that iOS doesn’t give you the option to clear cache, that I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still nothing. You know what they said? “Sorry, we cannot help you”. WHAT?!!! Utter nonsense B.S.! Moreover, I wrote a review awhile back and it never got posted, hmmmm🤔. Used to love the app before all the updates, now it stinks!.AMCD91Version: 6.0.2
I’ve never rated an app I thinkThis deserves it though, I use ALL food apps.. the design and smoothness for this jack app just blows my mind. I’m not sure anyone else has done as such a great job when creating their food app as well as Jack has. The app creation meeting must’ve been lit.. the buffering/loading design alone is just amazing.
I eat at jacks maybe 6-10 times a year.. but that’s because I do go to other places and always have a million options to satisfy my cravings.. but this is one place that never fails to satisfy my cravings. Whether it’s for lunch.. or 3AM drunk as anyone could ever get… the tacos are IT…just IT.. the price is just a bonus, because I’d pay more .. those weird ingredients that I couldn’t careless to know what they are.. I love them 😂 oh and the poppers are the GOAT of poppers from fast food. They’re expensive but that’s why..
Quality is definitely a standard at jacks..
The fact they have some of the best egg rolls you’d ever eaten, says a lot.. this is a burger joint in Murica’ 🇺🇸 and does egg rolls better than any Chinese fast food.. which I also love Chinese food but it doesn’t compare.
Congrats on getting my first review Jack, hope someone at HQ sees this and appreciates it the way I appreciate the service I’m always provided at Jacks.

Horrible rewards systemIf you plan on using the app to either have your food delivered or picked up , don’t waste your time getting the app , every Jack-in-the-Box locations in Texas is shortstaffed with employees, getting the app will just make it more difficult for your order , if you use the app alot and collect points or rewards … they will never be valid for you to use , and when you do use your points , 9/10 they forget your food that you spent your points on , And majority of the time I request for the rewarded food back they say it never comes on their screen , so now i have to remind the employees not forget my rewards order every time I want to use my points so be prepared for your food to not be in the bag or your rewards to not valid._Dan13l_Version: 5.0.28
Good app, but....This is definitely my favorite fast food app. HOWEVER, there is one problem. If you order from the one tap screen, I think it automatically uses the last location you used for that order. Because most mobile order apps use the closest store, I didn’t even think about it when I ordered far away from the last time. So I checked again after already ordering, and realized it was the wrong store, 30 miles away. Not even a “this store is far away” warning. So I just did the same order today, expecting it to go to the store I originally ordered from. It ordered to a RANDOM store I had never been to, which is also pretty far away. On top of all this, there is no way to cancel your order! So basically I’ve spent money for nothing TWICE because the app isn’t smart about locations. Please change it so it chooses a closer location, or at least add a warning if it’s far away. And a cancel order option would be nice..Auoso y ucucuuchalwfouVersion: 2.2.0
It’s about time!I know for a fact I’ve emailed Jack in the Box website asking when are they going to finally join the rest of the fast food world and create an app because they’re probably losing business now just because people like ordering from restaurants that did have apps for pure simplicity of it! And the fact that there is no excuse for a mistaken order anymore as they now have it in your own words or pictures- this is what I want! Looks like I am solely responsible for Jack in the Box finally creating an app as I’m sure no one else ever said anything about it! (J/k) However, that being said, two little problems I noticed were 1) when you order a fountain drink it doesn’t ask you which one just puts fountain drink on the order and 2) some of the customize food icons are not easily recognizable for blind people like me. Maybe write down underneath them what they are as well! Good job!.Gloliver7149Version: 2.1.3
My life with Jack n the boxI’ve grown up with the Jack and I’m now 74.
The day they stopped the secret sauce on the little burgers, it broke my heart. It just became a normal burger. When it was a special treat when you could only afford the little burger, oh well I hated you Jack.
When I was a young teen my memories were of my little sisters my Mom and I on Moms payday getting a bag of all our favorites and heading for the beach. Where we filled up and the girls would get out and play. Of course Mom and I sat in the car talking girl talk.
I remember the bobbing Jack head over the restaurants when my youngest sister Jackie was little, as soon as soon as she spotted that bobbing head “I’m hungry Mom I’m hungry “
She could have just ate, it didn’t matter ole Jack s head was enough to trigger hunger pains.
Then the tacos.
Now everyone will agree, we have no idea what’s in there or really don’t want to know.
Over 6 decades that I can remember there’s been rumors BUT it’s never really stop us die hard Jack taco eaters.
As we’ve grown older we may have cut back
But we still every so often get that craving
And nothing will do but that infamous crispy
Tortilla and crispy lettuce and whatever it is
Jack Taco. 2 for 1 $
Yes and it’s glorious
You out there that don’t like shut up
We that do more than likely have been eating them since we were kids
When we turned 21 and got drunk we ate
Jack Tacos
When we were poor Jack Tacos
Also it’s whatever that sauce is ?
I still like Jack and they can still come up with new things
And when I wanted a burger for breakfast Jack was there
Thanks for the memories Jack you’ve been like a thread running my life and continue to do so
Childhood
Adulthood
Raised my kids
Now even in my twilight years
Bring back the secret sauce please
Thank you again Jack n the Box.CHANCE I DONT CAREVersion: 3.0.1
Removing food item from app is frustrating! When I started using the app, all food items at my locations could be ordered on the app! Now, I can’t order the Chicken Strips combo for my son on the app because it’s not on the app menu! My workaround is to order everything else on the app to take advantage of any Offers and Deals and speed up getting my food … and then order the Chicken Strips combo in the drive-thru and WAIT for it to be made! — It used to be on your app (it even still shows up on a Previous Order!), so please bring it back. This would give you a higher Star rating.
You might also work on ways to “substitute” things on the app (like a soft bun instead of hard grilled sourdough bread), not just “remove” or “add” things. Another thing you can do at the restaurant, but not on the app! Other restaurant apps allow me to do this, so it’s possible for the Jack in the Box app!.Starrunner48Version: 4.1.8
I mean, it’s fine.I preferred the layout in the version prior to the makeover. But it’s ok. Fairly easy to navigate and use but I felt the previous version was easier. I’m glad they added a way to add sauces but it’s in an odd place and easy to overlook. These places always have a “death grip” on the sauces for whatever reason. But that’s besides the point. The reason it only gets 3 stars is you are unable to order on the app the variety of drinks actually offered. For example you cannot order Cherry Coke in the app but you can order in person. You can still add points from your receipt but if they don’t give you a receipt, which seems par for the course, and you forget to ask them you miss out on your points. That just happened to me. Not happy. Also there’s no Apple Pay or even PayPal option. That would make things much more convenient. But overall it’s ok..SweetMixedChickVersion: 5.0.10
Needs Improvements but overall great appLet me start with what needs to improve immediately! All ingredients need to be an option when customizing a burger/ sandwich,m. For example, I wanted to order a spicy chicken sandwich and it did not give me the option for white American cheese, the picture was yellow American cheese and I didn’t want to risk getting yellow cheese rather than white on my sandwich. Also, when ordering a combo you can only get that once size straight across, we need to be able to order medium fries and a large drink if I wish. Let me justa include that coupons should be scannable at the counter or drive thru rather than only being a le to redeem thru a mobile order; like Del Taco allows.
Great app! GREAT coupons, free stuff and percentage off your order, you never see that thru your mailed coupons.
Please make the updates I have mentioned, thank you!.SoniiageeVersion: 2.4.2
Best food app But!I love this app because it’s the only one to make my food when I want and have it ready when we get there other apps make the food when you get there but I rather not wait isn’t that the point... but anyways the locations don’t check where you are it automatically leaves you at the last place you ordered food and then you can’t change it you have to call jack in the box place a request wait for the response then call the number they give you in the response and wait on hold for 20 minutes so they can find your card and you wait 3-5 days to get it back. They should really have the locator to check the location every time. And you can’t pick your drink. Also you can only add on what they give you onthe side which is not always what your looking for... ( ex. Sourdough bun, Swiss cheese). Its the Ghana PrincessVersion: 2.4.0
App is good, Contacting Customer Service is terribleI do like the app. It’s gives great deals and convenience without waiting. My only problem is trying to get a hold of Customer Service. I’ve had already 3 orders that I was not able to get a refund from because the location was closed, even though the app allowed me to order. I’m down about $50 and haven’t been able to contact or receive contact about getting a refund. There are other apps that allow me to make a complaint and get a refund email within an hour. This app doesn’t give you that option, other than going on their website and leave a feedback or comment. Nothing really about trying to get a refund on an order……So this is just FYI for people that may want to use the app, just be careful, if you think you are okay with losing some money…..T3k_Fre@kVersion: 4.1.8
Good but can be better.Overall, my experience with using this app has been good, but I believe this app has potential and can be even better. There is a few issues I have about this app and hope that my feedback will be noticed and put into action. First, I hope that they can add a feature in this that allows you to add a new credit/debit card. All I’m able to do is change my current debit card which is slightly time consuming when I switch to a different card. Second, I would like it if they can let us customize and choose our drink when we order meals such as the late night meal. Finally (similar to the previous), I would like it if they let us to select our fountain drinks when we select that option. Otherwise, this app has been good, and I’ll continue using it..Food-2-GoVersion: 3.0.0
Jack in the box appI like the theory of this app : Order your food 5-7 minutes ahead of arrival time and pick up your order at the counter cuz it’s ready when you get there! At some locations that’s true - but not the one on Marina Drive in San Leandro. First of all, no one ever greets you st the counter there - they’re busy bagging up window orders or making shakes or whatever . . . There is no designated spot for picking up mobile app orders (as there is at the Lewelling stir in San Leandro) What’s the point in ordering ahead of time, then getting in a line of people to place orders?) Then, by the time I get in the front of the line and I tell them that I’ve made a mobile order - the cashier looks on a screen that is obviously not monitored very often, and tells me it’s being prepared. 5-7 minutes later I get my order. That’s a sorry process. Maybe I’ll just get my orders in at the Lewelling St. store. It’s a little further drive for me but much less time in the store to pick up my order. They have a designated sign for mobile app order pick up and the food actually gets cooked when I press the button “Prepare My Order”!
Hope you can make some changes at the Marina Drive store!

Jack glowed upThe new app is great, but it has a few weird and unnecessary design issues that make it way more complex, and complicated than it needs to be.
1- It has “What’s New” and “Deals and Digital Exclusives” sections. Both sections list very few items to be separate sections. Consider combining them into one section and using badges to denote them. “New Items” could just have a green badge that lets users know these items are new.
2- Please Please Please remove the “Burger Combos” and “Chicken Combos” sections. You already have “Burgers” and “Chicken” sections that already have a “Make it a Combo” button that turns the items into meals.
3- Remove the ™️ and ®️ from all items. The users are not browsing to steal your cool items names.
4- The “Late Night” section houses ONE item. It’s so unnecessary as well, consider adding it to the “Game Day Munchies” section and rename the section to “Boxes” or something similar.
5- Consider allowing the user to change their email.
6- Consider baking-in the feedback section into the app instead of opening up a webpage.
7- “KISS”: Keep It Stupid Simple.
Thanks for the great new app, it’s so much better than the previous one..You7JoeVersion: 2024.7
Jack In The Box on N NavarroI love this jack in the box there the best compared to the other location times 100, I always mobile order and my food is always fresh and ready to go, N it’s a lady that’s always there when I go, I wish I knew her name but I don’t but she always seems to be my server she’s a kinda older color lady, she reminds me of my aunt so much the way she talks, but she so sweet and she never has not forgotten anything I ordered along with all my condiments. I love there egg rolls and she never forgets my sweet and sour sauce which I also love and my kids. I would recommend this location to anyone any day especially when she’s there. Next time I’m a get her name to recommend her spectacular customer service….Charlen34Version: 4.0.1
Great deals, wishes they were available in storeI like the deals and point system Jack-in-the-Box has. I hate that you can only utilize these points through mobile/online orders. It would be nice to be able to use them in store or in the drive-through like most other fast food apps. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong but from what I have experienced, it is extremely difficult to try and do something quick. I have. In the drive-through line and got to the front and have received nothing but attitude at a level of discussed because I have “not given them enough time” to complete my order. Whereas it would be no different if I ordered in the drive-through line and used these points. But oh well that is the process now, hopefully it changes later..FesorVersion: 2025.16

Jack in the Box® Order App Negative Reviews
Don’t use this App!!!!!I can actually say I loved Jack in the Box. I downloaded the app being I would go often when I was near one. The last time I went I finally used the app. HUGE MISTAKE!!! I used the app and paid my order online to take advantage of an app special for their mini churros. I ordered a little over $50 USD! It was supposed to be dinner for the family. Upon arriving and going to the pick up window they could not find the order. That’s bad enough right! They told us the screen shot and order number were not enough to verify order. They said app orders sometimes take a minute to be sent to corresponding restaurant and if we would like to wait. We waited over 20 minutes and manager on hand told us they had not received our order. That my proof was not sufficient for them to make and give me my order. She said she would let her manager know. After dealing with that Jack in the box the one in Bullhead City, AZ they told me to message contact on app for refund. So then the horror story continued. I did everything online , on app, chat , filed a complaint ect. Nothing was done except the generic we will get back to you. So yeah I’m pretty sure being out FOOD, MONEY AND WORST GETTING THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER ALL AROUND LEFT ME WHERE I AM TODAY!!!! I loved the sourdough Jack meal but since then NOPE!!! I’ll take my money where they will at least give me what I paid for and truly acknowledge me as a paying customer. Jack-in-the-Box Youngtown ArizonaGood day reviewers I just want to say if you’re ever in a bind and you go to Jack-in-the-Box in Youngtown Arizona don’t go late at night why do I keep going back there well it’s like any relationship you hope that it gets better but are used to say three strikes you’re out I guess the fourth time my order was very disappointment and one of them people that always order the same thing why I don’t know but I choose to order the same thing so I always say that my order is for fresh tacos and a medium french fry with no salt for some reason I get my order very fast and tacos are soggy and cold and my french fries have salt in them with the bad part about it is that the drive-through does have a lot of people ordering their food now yes I have heard complaints from other customers and yes I have tried to make contact with them at night but I guess they don’t answer the phone when it comes to replacement I think is very encouraging to say that the manager in the morning will replace it that’s pretty cool on his part but my question is at why do I have to go back because I work 12 hour shifts and when you get late and you’re coming home you want something to you eat soDo you end up stopping at the first fast food you see that’s all I’m trying to say is that this place is going to get yelped and I’m going through general or regional or even corporate because I have too many receipts and I have too many issues so I think it’s time to find a new location before I get to Youngtown thank you for reading this but I choose not to give it not even a star..Dissatisfying customerVersion: 4.5.6
Stole my money and timeI got this app today to check out the deals and offers and wanted to have a nice meal with my whole family since we rarely eat at fast food restaurants. After selecting and customizing a bunch of items, I went to check out and used my 20% First Mobile Order coupon, which saved me quite a bit of money considering how large my order was. Sent the order in, went to the selected store, and after waiting over 40 minutes, the front staff told me that they still hadn't received my order and that they couldn't do anything about it. I showed them the receipt I received via email, and they thought it was weird too. I ended up having to re-order and pay for everything in-store except I no longer had the 20% off deal. Turns out one of the items I selected on the app (the Girl Scout Shake) hadn't been served in the store for months, and I suspect that's why my order couldn't get through. I'm a little disappointed because this has happened to me before with a different fast food restaurant and their respective app, but at least when I arrived at the store, they were still able to see my order and replace (or remove) that one item they didn't offer.
All in all, the app itself is not bad for giving you great deals and the ability to customize, but be wary of items that your store doesn't offer or else you'd be risking losing your money. The app devs need to either remove that item so that other people don't fall victim to it like I did, or they should make it more clear that not all locations serve it. Whoever is in charge of the mobile app orders being sent also needs to figure out a way for at least the rest of the order to go through instead of disappearing with my money..JfkwxnVersion: 4.7.8
The Jack in the box app has sabotaged itselfIn my opinion, the Jack in the box app before the 6.0 update was the best fast food app available on the market. It's menus were easy to understand and operate, modifications on any and all items were simple to understand, coupons were universally available and accepted at any and all locations. It sounds pretty great right? Well apparently not according the the nimrods who updated this app. They changed the menu system to be clunky and "corporate", reminding me more of typical backwater food apps. Modifying items is no longer handled by a mere plus or minus button, instead you're taken to a completely different menu for modifying items. Going from a completely natural process to remove or add any items you either liked or didn't like on your burger or whatnot, now instead taking almost a minute, which isn't a whole lot of time, but is still infinitely more time than the previous version. But the biggest difference is the coupon system, oh LORD Where do I even begin, they changed it so the coupons don't appear right before you finish checking out, now instead appearing on the home page, which would be fine if they didn't also remove the category for coupons and deals in the point redemption menu. And of course the nail in the coffin is now making it so some locations can choose not to accept coupons. Now for you, the reader of this, maybe there's no difference for you, but for me? Every single Jack in the box within a 10 mile radius has coupons OFF Now, so much for BoGo Double Jacks for you and a friend unless you wanted to make a pilgrimage to the next city over.
To conclude, this app has gone from an easy 8-9/10, to a solemn 4/10. Half of the original score..The QuizlerVersion: 6.0.1
App experience - start to finishFinding what you want on the app is pretty easy. With the exception of sauces, things seem to be where they need to be; why can one bit request sauces in the app? Rubio’s and a bunch of other places with apps have been able to accomplish this, so it’s a bit disappointing to not have the option with JitB, but I digress. You may find some “app only” specials as you search around - another plus. BUT (and here is why it only gets 2 stars), the app experience isn’t over until food is in hand, and the last step is kind of tricky… time & time again, regardless of location, I’ve arrived to pick up an order placed on the app only to find a group of employees with a “deer in the headlights” look on their face. I feel like JitB dropped an app into the App Store and didn’t bother to tell (let alone, train) any of their employees about it. Seriously, if you like and end up using the app, just be prepared to get to the restaurant and have everyone stare at you because they know nothing about whatever order you’ve place - lol.
End result: cool app, but pointless since the employees don’t know how to use it on their end..Tinman2621Version: 4.7.8
App basically stole my money. On more than one occasion, I’ve placed a mobile order at my nearest Jack in the Box only for the location to be closed upon arrival. Every time I arrive I hit the “prepare food now” button as the app says to do so the food is made fresh. But it’s not until i pull up to the drive thru speaker that i’m informed the store is closed. So how am I supposed to get a refund if I don’t know the location is closed until I pull up to the speaker? The app doesn’t say they’re closed for mobile orders and still allows me to order food. Am I expected to hit the button after I’ve already talked to someone at the speaker?? That would just be redundant and counterintuitive. So basically I order food, only to find out that the location is closed upon arrival, the app has already charged me, and the app won’t let me get a refund. This is essentially theft. I’ve sent a couple complaints via their website and i’ve gotten no response. When the Jack in the Box near me is actually open, the app works as intended. But this has happened to me more on multiple occasions and each time i’m charged and get no food..NoMoreHeadphonesVersion: 4.7.7
Can’t even redeem your pointsThis app is useless. It always tells you about great promos available but no matter what you cannot use them. When you add the item to your bag you total shows the amount if the item was full price but the price next to the item is crossed out and the promo price shows. BUT EVERY TIME you try, as soon as you hit the check out button you get a message that says “Discount not applied.” The item switches back to the full price.
This also happens with the rewards points!!! I have around 150 rewards points now. The ONLY way to redeem these points is thru the app. It’s supposed to be as simple as placing any order and adding an item of your choice from the list of rewards. The item appears in your bag, the price is crossed out and shows as $0.00. However, your total shows the full price. As soon as you hit checkout you receive the “Discount not applied” message again!!! I’ve switched locations, I’ve tried different orders, bigger orders, everything you can think of.
These promos and earned reward points are simply a way to trick you into continuing to order with the promise of something you will never receive..Kgeorge84Version: 2024.5
One of the worst fast food appI have been a very regular customer at JITB for YEARS; I use their app all the time, and they came up with a new version lately. Every time I run the app, I’d be logged out, so I have to log in again every time. Just navigating through the menus would sometimes freeze up on their animating JITB icon. Changing to a different location would require me to enter my credit card number again. There are days when I simply could not make an order, so I’d just give up and eat elsewhere. I have been conditioned now to expect some issue whenever I use their app. They must not have competent technical people because this version feels like a beta, fraught with issues and hiccups. Their older version worked much better than the current one, although the old version had a bad habit of timing out when I tap the Submit button (but the order does still go through).
I have given up with JITB support. I have left them messages on their website, but never get a response. They have lost money with me because I’ve gone to other fast food places instead when their app fails me. Frankly, I don’t think they care..EsightVersion: 5.0.6
Hit or miss (like huge miss!)When the store you order from that is listed as open 24rs has your order ready no issues the apps pretty useful and I can’t complain.. however … when the location is listed as 24 hrs and you arrive to nobody there (hiding in back with the drive thru blocked off) and then after waiting and honking at the window for 15 minutes to finally have the guy you saw in the reflection the entire time just ignoring you come up to the window and tell you they’re closed and can’t take orders to which you reply “well I placed my order online you already charged me” and have them look at you dumbfounded like OK… Then the more senior incompetent person tells you they will issue a refund but doesn’t bother to take down your details or ask your name and then you never receive said refund (for the second time - same guy) it’s hard to say anything positive .. freaking frustrating and then they don’t issue your rewards or jack pack offers you never received if they do refund you your money …. which is lame to boot. Cmon. Jack. ?!?.D3m3treeVersion: 4.7.8
Worst fast food app imoHere to change my review from a 2-star, down to a 1-star. Placed a mobile order via the app and arrived to the location only for them to be closed during posted hours due to lack of staff. Was told by the only employee there I would receive a refund, but never did. I filled out a form on the Jack in the Box website for a refund over a mobile order/app issue yet I had never received a refund let alone a response (which was stated I’d get) after 2 weeks. Had to contact Jack in the Box again via social media in order to even get some sort of response and refund. The location being closed is not an app issue - but the lack of refund or response is. Other popular fast food apps (that one that starts with a Mc) are way better & never have this issue and I’m able to receive my refund immediately when my order isnt picked up. Let’s not mention the fact that you cannot even add sauces to your mobile order like nearly every other fast food app allows. The app is very glitchy and not user friendly. If you really want Jack in the Box, skip the app & order in person..MirabellaroseVersion: 5.0.10
New Update is UselessBasically, instead of upgrading the app, they killed it. I had the Jack in the Box app and used it a lot before they updated it to version 5.0.0. Then, it quit working entirely, despite that it says it is supposed to work on my phone and with the older version of iOS I use (iOS 13). Version 5.0.1 of the Jack in the Box app says they fixed some bugs, but it sure doesn’t look like it from here. All I get is a blank white screen, and the coupon to nowhere that said it was for free fries in exchange for signing up to receive text messages is no longer there. In my opinion, updating their app that was great before and now no longer works for some of us, or has disappeared other users’ accounts and reward points, equates to a giant “F... YOU!” from Jack in the Box to their loyal customers. Is Jack in the Box trying to put themselves out of business? It is unfortunate, since Jack in the Box is one of the places that has often been most convenient to go to for lunch near my work, but since these utterly useless updates to their app, I will be deleting it and going elsewhere for lunch..Rachel A. No refundI purchased items over 1 week ago and hit the red button to have my food prepared since i live 5 minutes away. Upon my arrival to the location, i requested my mobile app order thru the driveway. The cashier stated that they didn’t have majority of the items to create the order and therefore they couldn’t prepare it. I asked if I could get my refund there because the mobile app doesn’t provide that option or if they could cancel my order so that it would notify my mobile app that I did not receive my order because the JIB location was unable to create it. The cashier lacked knowledge of the mobile app and didn’t offer any solution. Therefore, I tracked down a customer service FAQ which basically states that you won’t receive any refund once you submit the prepare order red button. I’ve emailed JIB twice but still have yet to be contacted by the company. I understand if your food is prepared that you should be charged but if you haven’t received your order or even if you’re not satisfied with your order, they should have a request refund option. I’ll adjust my rating if I get my refund from JIB.Crash CuttaVersion: 3.0.1
New App is terribleI would give -0- stars if I could. The original app was great, I never had any real problems with it. Occasionally it would be a little slow to load but I would take that any day over this new nightmare. It’s difficult to navigate, not very intuitive and completely different from the previous version. I suppose I would eventually get used to it but the biggest issue is that the app requires me to input my form of payment every time I use it. I go into my account settings and it shows my form of payment repeated for every time that I had to enter it. I tried deleting them all from the account settings page but after doing so there is no place to add a form of payment. So I guess the only way to add it is when you order, the app will then store it, but won’t access it the next time you order, so you have to enter it again and then it stores it again. I’m not likely to choose Jack in the Box as often since other fast food apps let me quickly order and pay with one touch. Jack in the Box, you ruined your app!!.BanannababeVersion: 5.0.1
A consistent failWhere to begin…one multiple occasions I have placed an order through the app, only to arrive at the restaurant to find out they are out of some or all of what I ordered. I have also arrived at two different locations only to find they were closed, despite the app stating otherwise and allowing me to place an order at said closed locations. But the truly infuriating part about all of that is that Jack in the Box charges your card immediately after ordering, rather than waiting to charge you once the restaurant confirms the order had been picked up. Once that happens, you’re pretty much screwed, as they only have one way to contact their customer service, and that is through email. The last time I placed an order and the restaurant was closed, I sent them an email to get my money back. They took so long to finally reply back, that I had actually forgotten about having even sent them a message. Not that it matters anyway, considering the email response was to direct me to call them during their working hours of 8 am-1 pm PT, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Yes, you read that right, their “customer service” department is only available 3 days a week, for a total of only 15 hours. What a freaking joke. If all of that wasn’t enough, there have also been occasions when I would arrive at the restaurant only to be told that they had not received my order at all, despite the app stating the order had been submitted and the address for the corresponding location showing on the order. I truly cannot fathom how this app has received any other ratings that were not 1’s or 2’s. The only reason I use the app is because of the great app only offers they make available, but that’s not even enough to get me to use this app anymore. Oh yeah, one last thing, this app does not take Apple Pay. How is it 2021, and this app still does not accept Apple Pay? Urgent Concern Regarding Order Issue and Poor Customer ServiceI am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding an experience I had with Jack in the Box today. I placed an order through the Jack in the Box app, but due to what appears to have been a system glitch, my order never appeared despite the payment being processed and charged to my bank account.
Believing the order might still appear on your end, I went to the drive thru for assistance. Unfortunately, my order was not visible in their system. When I explained the situation to the employee, Teresa, she was dismissive and unwilling to assist. Not only was I left without my order, but I was also out the money I had paid.
Jack in the Box cannot allow these types of experiences to happen to its customers. Prices are already high, and losing money due to an app glitch without resolution is unacceptable and unjust. I request that my payment be refunded promptly and that this matter be addressed to ensure no other customer faces the same treatment..Mariana LariosVersion: 2025.17
Poor in app help & customer service.Ordered drive thru pick up from a store listed as being open 24/7. Went to pick it up and the store was closed at 9:30 PM for some unexplained reason. That part really isn't that big of a deal. Stuff happens.
The problem is the app has no way to rectify an issue like this. There is literally no way to refund or cancel an order through the app's built in help system. The app just lets you order from a store that is unable to fulfill the order and still charges you money. If you follow the built in FAQ and Help information, it just bounces you around from one nonsensical help article to the other while never giving out email support or phone support information. JiB and the team they contracted to build the app have inadvertently created a scam app if the store cannot fulfill the order. They also mention to "tweet" for help or fill out some third party 20 question feedback form which doesn't lead to you getting your money back.
This app and it's help section is the final boss of poor customer service..Dog eats Cat.Version: 3.0.1
Worst App EverPlaced and order with the app, funds were taken but my order was never placed. Took me 30 minutes to find a good customer service contact number by googling it because their app won’t let you call them. You can’t chat with a real person, and there is no dispute options available. Called my bank and they said to contact Jack In The Box, finally got of a hold of someone and said they don’t have a hold on our money due to the application not giving us an order number. Rep said we needed to contact our bank to have them release our funds, and if they didn’t want to. It would take 72 hours for the funds to be released. Called our bank rep and they said the couldn’t release the funds, it had to be Jack in the Box. If they didn’t release the funds to us, it would take 7-10 business days to drop the hold. Funny it takes seconds to take the funds, but it takes days to give them back. Laws need to be changed so they can hold our money where the can report it as gains for a few days. Total trash app..Fernsc5Version: 2025.8
Better hope you never need a refundRe Developer Response: Do you even read the review? Or do you just copy n paste the same exact response to every negative review? What part of “I submitted the form and am still waiting for anyone to contact me” makes you tell me to do the same thing I already did twice? Every part of this experience has been bad and seems to keep getting worse. But hey, thank you for that 3 seconds worth of effort you put into your pasted response! (Whoever does Developer Responses for this app should be fired).
Restaurant out of what you ordered? You still get charged and even managers cannot help cancel or refund the order.
Placed an order and when I arrived at the restaurant I was informed they were out of what I ordered. No problem, I thought - it happens and its easy on other apps to cancel an order. So I asked the gentleman to refund the order — “We cant do that from the store since it is through the app”. Ok surely there is a way in the app to easily cancel the order or get a refund? So first I looked but I could not find a button or link or anything. So I asked the gentleman if he knew how to do it in the app — nope. Asked the manager, same thing - they don’t know how to cancel an order or get a refund through the app. All I could ask at that point was “seriously?”
You have to dig through the Help section and submit a form, which tells you “You will hear back from our customer satisfaction team within 24 hours”. It’s been 3 days and guess who I have not heard from?.(- Ayi -)Version: 2025.6
What A JokeI’ll try to keep this saga brief. Initially, I was locked out of my app account. I tried to reset my password several times but never received the link in my email to do so. I reached out to customer service and was instructed to call. I call, and the rep asks me to make a new account. I tell them I don’t want to make a new account because I don’t know want to lose the rewards points that I’ve accumulated; the rep assures me that they will manually transfer points to my new account and email me once they do so. I make a new account. A week goes by… no points. I follow up by email and then I finally receive them. I attempt to place an order… and I can’t use the points. I send yet ANOTHER email about this. I give the details that I’ve got the correct item in the correct, as instructed, etc. I receive back the generic email about how to redeem points (the instructions which don’t work for me). At this point… with a faulty app AND laughable customer service, I decided any further effort wasn’t worth a few free sandwiches..KevinmattressVersion: 5.0.5
New update is horrible **update and 2nd update below**App updated, immediately the app froze. Restarted app, froze again. Signed out and restarted, cannot log back in. I offloaded, deleted and reinstalled and I still can’t sign in. This app is broken. Update: I went through the customer service link that is provided in the app, I filled out the form and sent it. They finally responded, today, 7 days later. They offered me a certificate to use at any one of their restaurants, all I had to do is respond with my address. I responded and asked when they were going to fix the app, my response was rejected by the email provider. Do better Jack In the Box.
App still won’t let me sign in, it’s been a month. The “Customer Support” link makes you fill out a form and then they just offer you a certificate that cannot be claimed. I have cleared cache, deleted and reinstalled, and still nothing. This app is broken for me and I have to presume that it’s broken for others as well. If I could give the app negative stars, I would..Jug_66Version: 2024.4
App expectations v real lifeYou put in your order, you pay, then select prepare food. The app then tells you to head to your location. I followed all the steps arrived at the restaurant and was told their system was down and I needed to cancel my own order. There is no easy way of doing that and nothing in the app that allows for that unlike McDonald’s who has an easy cancel button. The employees don’t have any information on what to do and the managers are worse. I was then told the app has nothing to do with the store. This has happened 3x. The app is only worth its salt if it does what it is supposed to do. I now have to figure out how to contact someone to get my money back. So far I am waiting still with no solution and I am hangry because I still did not get my food. The app takes the money and the store doesn’t fill the order. If the app was interested in customer satisfaction I wouldn’t be jumping through hoops to get my money back. Don’t waste your time. Their offices aren’t open on the weekend and there is no one to fix it..Candy linksVersion: 3.0.0
Used to Be So GreatThis app, and this company, used to be so so amazing. I have always been a big fan so when my last few experiences have been awful I kept coming back in the hopes that it was a rough patch.
No such luck.
When the app started changing it was a little
More confusing when ordering from the correct store, so I ordered from the wrong one and just had to eat that charge bc there's no way to cancel an order due to the app changing and no longer having the "start my order" button. Customer service didn't even bother replying to my inquiry about that.
The last two times I've ordered from my most frequented location they staff tells me they don't have my order. Order is submitted and paid and says in progress. Today the woman didn't even ask what my order was at the speaker, so 10 min later when I make it to the window behind two other cars she says "ok you're Uber?" No. Mobile order. She slams the window. Comes back. "I don't got it" and takes someone else's order. Comes back again and says I said I don't have it. I show her my order. She slams window and. 7 min later she comes back with my order.
The company should be embarrassed. Truly. This is asinine. But maybe it's just this area is the country. Idk. But I have deleted the app and yes I did feel it necessary to leave a bad review. If service is going to be poor at least make the app great..Faline15Version: 5.0.12
Loss of consistency with app offers and exclusive deals…It used to be better around 1-2 months ago. Now they don’t have any exclusive app offers & deals at all. Or as often as it used to be. Sometimes there will only be a single offer available only for a few days only. The app exclusives section used to have many things available and only changed after around a few weeks. You used to be able to get a burger and drink for under $10 back then.
You now have to spend quite a lot in order to rack up points for the jackpack rewards system. As it is a dollar equals to one point, which is redeemable at 40, 50, and 60 point criterias. Which are all single free menu items.
It has become quite dry with no good offers at all after a month difference in both app exclusives and the offers menu. I don’t use the app as often now because of how lacking it has become..AceKobayashiVersion: 4.7.8
New update makes the app far less useableJack in the Box is one of my preferred fast food picks, their rewards and offers keep me coming back. However, their new update makes it much more difficult to order than before.
It was already not a great app, with a very laggy and often unresponsive interface, but with enough patience you could get some good deals. Now however, those issues are only marginally, and I mean marginally, better. Instead however there is a new slew of issues.
I like to plan out my order ahead of when I place it, but that’s all but impossible now since the app no longer seems able to remember your cart if it closes or is minimized for too long. What’s more is you can’t even browse the menu at all if your preferred location is closed.
I hope these issues are improved, it makes it much more difficult to justify eating here..MrFancyVersion: 2024.7
Glad you joined 21st century, BUT......it’s obvious you’re not reading or taking the responses/reviews into consideration and implementing changes. Someone complaining about a 45 second delay? C’mon get real. That’s not a worthy complaint. If I’m going to spend my time on your app I should be able to do 2 basic things… 1.) Customize food the way I like, not how JITB feels I should. For example, I feel fresh onions should be an option for ANY beef burger. Period. I can’t do that on the app for the Sourdough Jack. 2.) There is no ability to put what flavor of drink I want. Only the size of the drink. The workers are wondering why I’m not putting this data in the app. I can only say that it may be new, but it’s archaic. So… with all the freebies you throw my way and being a fickle human being, if I can’t get what I want, how I want it, I tend to go elsewhere. I can’t take advantage of the freebies if I don’t order thru the app so what’s the point?.MadmslVersion: 2.1.3
Can’t order some itemsTried the Jack in the Box app for the first time to get the 25% off first order deal. Had to wait 20 minutes to order in order to get the deal. That was incredible annoying. While waiting I browsed the menu and added food to the cart. Found that egg rolls can not be ordered through the app. Also didn’t have the fish sandwich I seen an ad for 2 weeks ago. Ended up not placing my order and going to Jack and the Box only to be told only 2 people were working and I had to wait until shift change to order anything. So I went ahead and placed an order for another store through the app. When I arrived I was told they were out of many things I had ordered such as Mac and cheese bites and onion rings. Would be nice if the app would tell me when something is not available like the Mc Donald’s app does. Would also be great if the entire menu was on the app..ClaydoodVersion: 3.0.1
Offers do not work. Can’t redeem points?Anytime I try to use an offer, upon checking out, I will be notified that what I have in my list is not valid with the coupon…despite having the item in my checklist. For example, if there is a BOGO deal for 2 medium fries, you can hit the redeem, click on your two medium fries, and upon checking out, it will say the coupon is not valid with the items (that are the only options to select when redeeming the coupon).
Also, a friend of mine tried to order and redeem their points once. The redeemed status showed up with the item but the price never changed when they checked out.
The point of rewards and offers is to encourage people to continue to shop at your restaurant. However, this app (and even the online website) only make it more frustrating to shop..ConiejoVersion: 2024.7
