DoorDash: Food, Grocery, More Positive Reviews
So Many ProblemsI’ve had several issues with this app. One is that my order was delivered continually to my neighbor even after putting very specific instructions saying where my house is located. Another is the drivers not following instructions. I had a delivery at 10 at night while my roommates were in bed. I put very specific instructions, in all caps, not to ring the doorbell. What happens? They ring the doorbell. At 10 at night. The final straw just happened today. I’ve ordered three different times from a specific restaurant. All three orders were canceled due to the store apparently being closed. The store wasn’t closed any of the three times. I either called or was called by the store and was told they were open and that my order had been made. My only assumption is the drivers just drove by rather than walked into the shopping center the restaurant is located in. I tried explaining this to the customer service representative but either she didn’t understand me or just didn’t want to deal with it. I even asked to speak to someone else and was ignored. I would think doordash would want to fix this as the money is coming out of their own pockets because I get refunded. Not to mention the amount of food that’s most definitely being wasted from others who have ordered from this store through DoorDash as well as the time and money wasted by their drivers (which is probably the drivers’ own doing though). It’s a shame and I’ll be going to another delivery service once my dashpass runs out..Version: 4.17.1
40 minute DelayI would’ve given a 5 star rating. I’ve had decent service. I had a driver drive across town to pick up my order. Then when he was on the way he didn’t drop it off. He drove past my address. He went to a gas station and sat for at least 5 minutes not moving. Then he went to another restaurant, delivered that order, then came and FINALLY deliver my order 42 minutes after he picked it up! I live about 6 minutes away from the said restaurant. I tried contacting DoorDash customer service chat. I had to google their contact info in order to get a hold of them. You can’t simply chat with an agent when your driver isn’t delivering. I asked the agent to cancel my order. She didn’t respond very promptly and used her generic verbiage. She didn’t actually do anything for me. I asked her to cancel my order since it was so late. She refused!!! I was going to go get it myself! I had another order earlier in the night cancel by the restaurant even though I had ordered it at least 45 minutes before the restaurant closed only for that restaurant to cancel it after they closed. Door Dash gave me a discount, which is the only reason they get a 2 star. I said whatever people make mistakes. I reordered just to have this mess happen right afterwords. So I have spent almost 2 hours to get a simple order from point A to point B. I started ordering about 8:15. I didn’t get it til 10:30, mostly cold or lukewarm at best. I’ve never had such a horrible, unnecessary issue happen with any delivery prior..Version: 3.2.2
Open bags!Stop going through the food!! I can’t count how many times my food has been obviously opened up and tampered with. It’s so beyond gross and where in the midst of a pandemic! Also why are the restaurants not held accountable for poor quality and missing items?? They literally respond with call door dash everytime. Also door dash still owes me $40 after my order was screwed up twice in one day! They denied the 2nd refund because of the first one. The 1st order was never delivered but the driver said it was. Absolutely ridiculous and the 2nd delivery was cold and missing items AND delivered by some teenage boy. The drivers name online said Evelyn. This kid was absolutely not named Evelyn. I called to complain only to be told sorry we’ll issue you a credit then got a notice says later the credit was denied because of an earlier credit that day. I never received the order earlier that day and had waited hours to have dinner!!!!! We couldn’t go out because of a sick kid and here we where starving only to be treated poorly twice. I continue to use DoorDash for convienance due to the pandemic I’m sure business is booming. Just unreal how they can mess up such basic service that costs so much. But overall for the love of all things seal the bags and leave them alone!!!! Just don’t touch the food!!! Mind boggling how simple it should be to pick up food and drop it off yet make it terrible. Always cold and always tampered with. Get it together - basic service that some how is bad 90% of the time!.Version: 4.9.0
How many hours does it take DoorDash to deliver food less than 3 miles away?Good evening to whom this may concern, I am reaching out today to share with you a terrible experience that I had with DoorDash on Friday February 8th,2019. After a long day of class, work and studying I placed an order with you all at 9:35pm. The last time I had eaten was around 2pm so I was very hungry at 9:30pm. Considering that I was ordering fast food and that the restaurant was less that 3 miles away I figured it would be quick. The tracker led me to believe that it would take 35-45 minutes and I didn’t physically check that app because I signed up for texts. After 30 minutes went by I decided to check the app. The time had increased to 80-90 minutes and I was confused. I contacted the driver to see what was going on, only to find that he was all the way in New Lenox where he thought I had placed my order. He informed me that the app had been experiencing technical difficulties throughout the day and that this was the cause of the hold up. This driver was very professional, he apologized for the situation and got my food to me as soon as possible. I waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for my white castles. If I had known it would take so long, I would have gotten it myself and been back home within 20 minutes. I was very disappointed because I stayed up until 12:00am to avoid going to bed on a full stomach and I had to work the next the next day at 6am..Version: 3.1.18
Customer Service, and Drive IssuesI have had multiple issues happen when ordering from missing stuff, to orders being late, and also the fact that only about 5% of the drivers actually read the notes, and know what to do when they deliver the food. I don’t like the fact I put in my notes, “Please don’t go to my front door and drop food in driveway.” Instead they completely ignore my notes, and go up to ring my doorbell becoming a nuisance to other people in my home completely being inconsiderate to me as well as my home. The last two orders though before deleting the app really took the cake. I ordered food from Noodle N Company. The delivery was on time, but when I opened my bag I saw my food items as well as an empty soda cup with a lid, and straw. I had ordered a soda, and they didn’t even have the decency to even fill up my cup, and get my drink. The second time which was literally the next day I ordered food from another restaurant which had two locations in the city. One in a mall, and one a few miles north that was it’s own shop. I ordered from the mall, and even it showed up on my map as that location. Instead my driver went to the other location completely ignoring his GPS instructions, and not reading the order carefully. I didn’t even get my order and I waited over an hour before I contacted customer support to cancel my order all for a driver who didn’t do what he was instructed to do. If anything I would like to see better employee training, and an option where I can have a custom drop off location while still being having it be no contact..Version: 3.6.1
Stuck using it.....I hate this app. It’s is literally the only app that will find my address during this god forsaken pandemic. My car is in another state rn and I’m immunocompromised so I try not to go out and delivery has been a god send....however.... this app is ridiculous. They up charge on all the food (compare the prices on DoorDash to the prices on the app for the store you’re ordering from, it’s wild), but still charge delivery AND fees AND tip. So it’s like twice as much money as if you go to the store, but you can’t complain because a lot of these places don’t deliver. My biggest complaint is that l, NO JOKE, ONE out of every TEN of my orders is correct and not missing anything. Doesn’t matter what store I order from, who the dasher is, I can order three items and I’m missing something or it’s wrong. They are supposed to call if something is out of stock and offer replacements or a credit, most of them do not, they’ll just drop it off and walk away. Wont even knock to let you know it’s there. I have to submit issue tickets on a regular basis. Then I get a credit and I’m stuck using the app again because I have a dang credit! I even tried dash pass and that was NOT worth the money. $10 a month but you still have to order over $12 for free delivery and they still up charge the prices and screw up your orders, it’s not more proficient dashers or anything. It’s just the only app that finds my address. I wish I could try post mates, or Uber eats. As soon as I use my credits and they actually get an order right I’m deleting..Version: 4.13.0
Last DoorDash OrderI just made my last DoorDash order. It was the worst experience I’ve had and we spend a lot of money eating out. My order never arrived. Actually being able to call DoorDash is difficult. Had to search online as it’s not intuitively built into the app. They took my order and my money and never assigned an individual to deliver my order. Eventually I called the restaurant, located the order and picked it up myself. Nothing like paying $100 for cold PF Changs. My family was very excited(not)... when I finally did get a hold of customer service(somewhere in Asia - India I think) they first tried to credit the tip and the service fee. I said that wasn’t going to do it. Then they said they would look at options for me(reading a script I’m sure) and offered me $20. I said that wasn’t going to do it and was then told that a supervisor would call me back. One finally did when I was on the way home after an hour and a half with my cold Chinese food that I picked up. She told me she would look at options for me and told me she would give me a $40 credit. I told her if I wasn’t reimbursed for the whole meal I would never order from DoorDash again and I would make it my mission to tell everyone how terrible they are(second time this has happened to me - I live 8 minutes from the restaurant). She again offered me a $40 credit and told me a manager would call me back. I told her not to bother. My order still shows as waiting to be delivered 10 hours later after I went to pick it up. This is the beginning of my campaign against DoorDash. #Doordashisterrible....Version: 3.1.75
DO NOT USE DOOR DASHIf you use this food delivery service to order food and end up with missing items or receiving the wrong items.. DoorDash will do NOTHING to help you. The first time this happened I did not make it a big deal, I let it slide. Then it just kept happening where I received the wrong items or missing by complete. Not to mentioned I don’t get notified by the delivery person or anyone when it happens. To make matters worse.. I’ve always been very considerate of the drivers making sure they received a great tip knowing that most of these people have to rely on tips with these jobs. I don’t understand why DoorDash thinks it’s a great idea to force their customers to tip first BEFORE receiving their food. This is also frustrating because those delivery drivers that I have encountered before who have been extremely rude or have never bothered to contact me as others always do from Postmates or UberEats when my order is wrong or incomplete. Then they’re receiving great tips!? The biggest problem with DoorDash is that the app is not helpful AT ALL. If you place a claim after an order issue, if you go thru the same situation again.. you will receive a message that says “you will not be compensated due to your order history” now how lovely is that? You did not received what YOU payed for and they get to keep that money. I have had these situations happen before in the past with postmates and UberEats and they have always managed to hear you out and fix the problem without an issue. DoorDash does not even give you the time of day. Do not spend your money here..Version: 3.2.8
Horrible customer serviceLet me start by saying, my wife and I have been using these type of services for years. We spend hundreds of dollars a year on this app but I think it is time to try a different app with similar services. A few days ago, I woke up late for work (restless night). As I was entering the building I open the app to order some food because I didn’t get to eat breakfast. I make my order which comes out to $15 with tip and the service fees. As the order is trying to confirm I realize that the address is for my house not for my work address. I try to cancel the order but there is no visible option to let me cancel the order while it’s in confirming. Not a minute goes by, after it confirmed the order, that I finally figured out how to cancel the order (I tried to cancel quickly to not waste anybody’s time). Then the screen prompt to tell me that I will only be getting a $5 refund but the sandwich that I ordered was $8 and the full order was $15. As a long time customer I thought I could at least get my money back as credit or something. So I emailed customer service explaining my concern and issue. They told me to email them a receipt which I did but then I never heard back from them. This tells me that you are willing to lose a long time customer over $15 and if that is the mentality of the company then I will be taking my business elsewhere..Version: 3.1.88
PLEASE READ THIS!!!!I only rated this 5 stars so my review will be seen. So basically i ordered a cookie tote from mcdonalds on doordash right? I then got the cookie tote. my dasher also informed me that she was waiting more than 15 minutes for the cookie tote and then they gave it to her after so long. So the problem here is that i did NOT receive all 13 cookies and before u think no my dasher didn’t eat them or anything. But Mcdonald’s did not put all 13 of them in there and to make it worse there wasn’t even 10 cookies in the tote?!!??!?! So i then requested a refund and they denied it? so i did it again and once again it got denied??? So i contacted physical online support and they didn’t even try to help or look into it. i wrote to them about what happened and they literally said since it has already been reviewed i’m ending this chat now? Like what that’s so rude all because for one i didn’t receive my full order and now y’all wanna deny me a refund? i feel that it is unfair and i am starting to slowly dislike doordash it bad enough it already expensive but to not give someone there money back is crazy i feel i should have gotten my money back or at least half of what i paid you know? I’m really disappointed in doordash i even attached a image proving it and they still denied me a refund. just lame doordash. will not be returning to order from u guys after that..Version: 6.40.0
2 year at least customerI've been a customer for a little over two years, and as a nurse, I use DoorDash quite often. Overall, I've had a positive experience, but there are a few areas I think could be improved. One concern is the priority delivery option…I don't mind paying extra when I need faster service, but if I choose not to, it can be frustrating when my order is grouped with multiple deliveries and takes much longer to arrive, almost forcing the spend 😒. Another issue is missing condiments, utensils, and small order details that really impact the meal experience; for example, if someone orders Chinese food, soy sauce is usually expected. For grocery orders, I appreciate being able to save favorite Dashers and items in store because it helps shoppers understand preferences, but produce quality can be inconsistent at times, such as receiving tomatoes with broken skin or wilted cilantro. I understand Dashers are working hard to earn a living, and I personally don't like leaving negative reviews for individual people, so I think there may be an opportunity for DoorDash to implement additional quality standards or guidance to help improve consistency. That said, I do appreciate that DoorDash has generally been responsive whenever there has been an issue with an order. Overall, I'd love to see more quality assurance, better support for Dashers, and improved compensation, as many rely heavily on tips and they are ultimately a huge part of the customer experience.Version: 8.21.1
Overall look throughWhat there trying to do/recreate is how you go and get your food and bring home but in a easier way by getting it delivered if your busy at home etc whatever but overall it takes me about 15-30 to go and get food depending on where it’s at and I know that’s not really the app it’s mostly the driver if the food is late/cold etc but it usually takes about the same amount of time or less cause the driver hopefully is already out and about but beside that comparing it to apps like Grubhub or regular delivery straight from the place your getting food at, it’s usually available more then it’s “competitor” app Grubhub if you want to get some food at late night depending on what you want/craving where your getting it from and I’ve never had/seen a difference either between ordering late at night or during the besides availability on your choices of food but the app itself for delivery is open later then Grubhub and usually it’ll be faster actually at night and in my opinion and there’s less shady people on here and I noticed on here the drivers are little more curties in thinking thoughts like I should try and not run the ac in the car a whole lot cause the food mite get cold or things like that I’m a bit sceptic about stuff like that cause it just bothers me and I have ocd and a little bit of a germaphobia out of that and personally I think they could always do better “app wise” like coming with a few ideas I even got a few ideas to make the better but overall in my opinion it’s better then it’s main and only that I’m aware of competing app Grubhub.Version: 4.17.1
Trademark Infringement, False Advertising, Bad Customer Service/Communication Hoo boy.Got a 5 dollar off coupon in the mail so I figured what the heck I'm playing a game I dont wanna leave the house to get food. Place my order use the coupon and wait. Simple enough? I couldn't be more wrong. Get a text from the driver saying that hes an hour away I may want to cancel my order. No big little upset at this point but the place I ordered from was only a mile away I could just get it myself. When I go to cancel, the app wouldn't let me. Had to google that once the restrictions starts making the food I cant cancel. So onto customer service. Get put on hold for 20 mins. Indian gentleman picks up the phone. Trys to convince me to wait for driver and not cancel. I ordered crab cakes. I cant wait 2 hours to eat crab cakes that are already cookes. Finally cancel. Drive to restaurant. Explain my experience with them. They didn't even know that DoorDash was even delivering with them. Asked to wait to speak with the owner. Meal would be comped so I was alright with it. Owner never signed a business agreement. Find out DoorDash is literally just placing order in the name of people who use them picking then up and selling them for a profit. After explaining Brand Integrity and Copyright concerns to the owner find out that he may be taking litegation with this company. Do a quick google search of Doordash and Copyright lawsuit. Cant believe this company is even allowed to exist as an entity. Ridiculous waste of my time.Version: 3.1.20
Run away DeliveryOrder for the first time last year and it TOOK THE CAKE!!! Woke up late and was hungry, but my son was sleep and my newborn was up! I decided to download the app because I didn’t want to take my kids out. Placed an order with IHOP on Busch and I used the app to track the driver. I can admit it’s kind of tricky finding the entrance of my Apts. But after he called I guided him to my house. Mind you it’s wet out and I had my newborn in my arms and no shoes in because he continuously passed the only entrance to where I live. Even after he seen me he refused to enter the gate of the complex. I waved and we where still on the phone. He came and as I walked back to my door he backed into a parking spot. I grabbed my Sandals at the door and when I came out again he was leaving! I called him back and he said, “ IDC you or the apartment “! I’m heated at this point when u just looked me in my face and said u seen me, we saw one another!!! I asked him to pull over where he was and I would come to him. I got in my car and he was a few feet away headed toward the exit of the complex. I stopped and he took off! I followed him for about 8 mins in the Temple Terrace area before I got agitated and went back home to report it to grub hub. I was told he was terminated and my money would be refunded!!! My daughter is a year old now and u have not gotten a refund let lone my food. Haven’t used it since..Version: 3.1.52
Good;Efficient, and could use some work! What I really like about this app isthat it brings businesses together and able to get more profits from those who either choose to or physically can’t get to their stores. In which making opportunities for not only new customers, but able to get the word out there on certain products as well as places they like more than others. However there are a few things that need to be addressed. For one the GPS of the app alone makes it not 100% accurate when going to a place making the customer have to talk to the dasher or give more directions needed to get what they paid for. Another is that some businesses either on the dasher or the business itself falls a bit short making it frustrating when the customer doesn’t get entirely what they ordered, or it being wrong when they get it. For on one hand you don’t want to waste food or what you received, and on another it wasn’t exactly what you ordered. I do like that it is a work-in-progress and that your representatives of this application are helpful. Another is that since this is based in California that other states the customer has to adhere to the taxes given than what is actual for the state they life in. If possible that these things could be looked at I think you’ll be able to get more customers, patrons, businesses to come on board with your product!Good,Efficient,Needs work..Version: 6.29.0
Worst deliver driversOut of all the delivery companies I mean, including regular restaurants as well. You guys have hands-down, the worst most untrained uncivilized non-English speaking delivery drivers ever to deliver food in the United States. It’s not fair that our main language is English and none of them speak it. I have had my food stolen two times from your drivers that is absolutely absurd. Each time nothing was done. I called and I waited on hold multiple times because I wanted to make sure that these drivers got reprimanded for but after speaking to whoever the supervisor was at the time I found out that nothing was going to be done. You guys do not care who you hire I highly doubt you do background checks because you hire thieves liars one of the delivery drivers that stole my wing stop order which mind you I stopped ordering from DoorDash because of your drivers, Wingstop decided to outsource my order through you guys without my consent and of course my food got stolen. When that happened, your delivery driver not only stole my food, but he antagonize me through text messages for the next hour about stealing my food and how we clearly did not care. I really hope you guys read these reviews and take heed because there is a giant community of people that have had the same type of experience and no longer use you guys..Version: 7.4.1
Be careful! Doordash might change the order delivery destination without your explicit consent.I was trying to place an order for a gathering at a friend’s house. I started a group order using my friend’s address as the delivery destination. I had to start the order half an hour early since that was the time necessary to prepare the order in time for when it was supposed to be eaten. Seeing that the order was placed when I was still en route to my friend’s address, Doordash suddenly “automatically updated” the delivery address to my own home since I was geographically closer to my own home at the time the order was placed. Furthermore, no notification was made to me such that this change can be undone. This is a very UNWELCOME “feature” that caused my friends and I to both miss my meal since it was infeasible to go back to my house to pick up the food that I needed to deliver to my friend’s house. Upon speaking to Doordash support to change the address THEY CHANGED WITHOUT MY CONSENT they couldn’t do so since “the original delivery address was out of range”, and I couldn’t get a refund since the order was prepared already. But how could I place the order in the first place if the original address was out of range? I refuse to place any further orders through Doordash until I can confidently ensure the most basic of assumptions for my order: my order is going to go to the address which I have specified in the order..Version: 7.39.0
Usually good, but some faultsWould really like to know faster, or more often at all, that dasher is making multiple trips. Some food just doesn’t keep when a dasher makes three plus trips, and you should know that so you don’t end up tipping different than you’d assume. It incentives you to tip less the more you use the app because of this when they should still be paid right. Makes quality all around more bad. Also have a lot of issues where dashers don’t know my location (I am not remote, I am in a city that is easily accessible) and they just cancel my orders constantly without warning. There needs to be better communication. Yes you can get discounts and credit but it gets tiring when constantly you wait an hour and then get told you won’t get your food even after it is picked up and you see the dasher going all over town before coming to you (if at all). This is by far my least favourite app to use but so many restaurants go here instead of other apps. I’m also unsure if they collect information you may want private, as I got a lot more ads and also calls after I started using this app, but that is obviously unverified and I haven’t hired an investigator so please take that into account. I’ve been a dashpass user for months and still got the same results. I’ve had dashers have to complete three orders before they delivered my food, over an hour more than the estimate. Why pay premium when you don’t get the service, saving maybe two bucks for food that says it will be there in an hour and then it is nearly three? I think it is communication based and needs to be more transparent..Version: 4.36.2
Good service, a few bad driversDoor dash is a great service, however I have had issues two days in a row. The first issue wasn’t the drivers fault- the restaurant didn’t package the food properly and we got the wrong food- however neither the driver, nor the restaurant seemed to know how to fix the issue. It was nearly 30 minutes after getting the wrong order, which was now cold, when the issue was resolved. DoorDash gave me a credit despite it not being the drivers fault- as he didn’t package the food. Today I tried to redeem the credit and ordered some delivery to my work. I had a door dash driver text me from my employers parking lot. I couldn’t go to pick my delivery up and my phone was on silent- but he never came to the door. He never rang the bell or came to the door at all. It’s all on surveillance cameras, so I went back and confirmed that we didn’t miss anything. Had he come to other door and let everybody know he was there, a coworker could have picked the order up for me. The driver left short of the 10 minutes w/in the estimated delivery time they are supposed to wait, then was rude to me on the phone, saying I should be respectful and ready to receive my delivery. I understand time is money for them but they should at least come to the door. I contacted DoorDash support and they gave me a credit and apologized. I redeemed it with no problem. I have used door dash a handful of times and only had one bad driver and one that simply didn’t know how to handle a mistake by the restaurant.Version: 3.0.90
It’s great when it works.Doordash does deliver in a timely fashion, i’ll give them that. maybe it’s the dashers more than the app but i hope they see this so that they’ll change something either way or talk to their employees somehow. there’s a lot of people who use door dash to get food delivered to them while they’re working and can’t always answer the phone at work but if the dasher is confused as to where they’re going, they won’t wait for an answer. oh no. they’ll make an assumption and take it to the wrong place anyway even though they haven’t gotten an answer. i wasn’t able to answer my phone. i was doing my job. i can’t do both at once. the dashers should WAIT for an answer if they don’t know where to go. the dashers also need to LOOK at the instructions because that’s where i put the specific store i work in so that this issue doesn’t happen. but it did anyway because they don’t actually look. AND if you have to reorder or get a refund because of poor service and missing food, the dasher still keeps the tip which is absolutely ridiculous. i’m not giving names because it was probably an honest mistake but it’s happened more than once which should not happen. 2 things, Doordash. 1. Tell the dashers to wait for an answer if they have a question, not all of us can answer the phone right away and 2. Refund the tips if we don’t get our food. the dasher shouldn’t get a tip if they never showed up. mistakes happen, i get it, but learn from the mistakes you make and correct them and you’ll have a lot more happy customers..Version: 4.47.1
My one & only issueThere was one instance where i ordered from Five guys and this women who was in charge of picking up my order. When she got here she only brought a milkshake and i asked her “is that all they gave you?” And she swore up and down “Yes i was wondering why i drove 30 minutes just for a milkshake hahaha” and i was so confused so i called the store and they said my food wasn’t even picked up yet and that the DoorDasher left without letting them give her the rest of the order. I then tried to contact her but couldn’t (understandably i assume because of safety measures between dashers and customers) but then i tried reporting it to DoorDash and i cant remember what they said but i was able to go and pick up my order myself from the store. It was not driven to me like i initially wanted but i did receive my order upon my arrival to five guys and also FIVE GUYS gave me an additional milkshake. I also think i suggested that certain people (which in this case, this woman was elderly and thats fine!) when being reviewed before working for DoorDash should be further evaluated on whether they can understand basic instructions or whether they are tech savvy enough to either scroll down or interpret what DoorDash is instructing them to do. And i can say without a doubt that i did not hear back from this suggestion, not to say they HAVE to or MUST adhere to said suggestion, but i would’ve at least appreciated some feedback and a message letting me know that DoorDash is aware of these instances and possible issues within their company with their drivers..Version: 7.43.0
Great Delivery, App has a few glaring issuesIf you live somewhere DoorDash has a lot of offerings, it’s a great thing. The logistics and general fact you can tap something and have it show up soon after shouldn’t be taken for granted, and DD deserves a lot of credit. The iOS app has two specific problems: The first is that it really wants to assume that you want your food where you are. Multiple times now, I’ll order food, confirm the delivery address is the place I’m going (not the place I am), only to have the food show up in the wrong place. It’s trying to helpful, I get it, but if I tell you to deliver it and confirm that’s where I want it, don’t assume otherwise. It’s pretty egregious, it’s happened multiple times, and I have stopped ever ordering-ahead if I’m not at the location where the food needs to go. The second technical issue is really much simpler, but as a problem it persists release after release: You’re browsing food, you set filters or search, you scroll and scroll, you tap on a restaurant to look at the detail. You tap to go *back* to the list… and… poof. You’re back to zero: Filters cleared, scroll position gone, you have to start all over again. If you have a lot of restaurants this is incredibly annoying. I’m guessing they run out of memory, maybe this issue only afflicts bigger cities, but an app of this maturity should really be able to handle this basic list -> detail push pop behavior gracefully..Version: 7.4.1
Not ready for real time market poor business modelI have ordered a food from halal king, precisely the restaurant is .6 miles, so need not waste my money on delivery I had to chose pickup option. When I call restaurant no one picked up, so I guess i understood that restaurant is either busy or closed. In fear of the other I had to chat with customer care person they told me the order is ready and I got notification of that. I started gmaps, which suggested the restaurant may be closed, to my surprise the restaurant says open but the doors are closed and it’s appears to be closed. Now the poor hungry me again starts with the customer service asking me to either assign a dasher to get the food, now the great door dash service says system is not allowing to do so, so I tried the next option could you please call the restaurant and know if the order is ready to pickup. So after some time they say we are not able to get hold of restaurant, ya well that’s the reason I am here chatting with you. So I asked for order cancel and a refund to my surprise they say we can but not refund!!! So I am at fault for choosing pick up option I mean how dumb some people be can be, they believe a dasher if they say the restaurant is closed but not the customer who actually buys food. After talking urging a lot I finally understood this is a scam or bad use case for which company doesn’t have a solution. So ya if I was the one to rate this app I say they are still not ready for all use cases out there and not atleast good for pickups. Bottom line doordash is only for people who want to be delivered by some one even if the dasher has corona..Version: 3.2.8
DoorDash allows unprofessional driversSo I had an incident on Tuesday October 10th where a dasher named Chris who is an older male delivered my order and sent me an insulting text because I didn’t tip before the service. I found this to be not only unprofessional but very uncomfortable as well so I immediately reached out to DoorDash support and took screenshots of the text Chris sent me and let them know how unprofessional this man was. I was told this would be taken care of and he would be blocked from delivering my orders in the future. Fast forward to Friday October 13th I place another order from a completely different restaurant and end up getting the same guy “Chris” as my driver who delivered my order and once again sent me an insulting message about not tipping him again. At this point I felt violated, uncomfortable, harassed you name it! So I then reach back out to DoorDash support because clearly nothing was done the first time to reprimand this guy! So my complaint has gone un noticed and this man continues to have his job and can still place deliveries on their platform because nobody cares. At this point I plan to take my screenshots of what this man sent me via text and the pictures I have of him on my home security system to social media to try and seek justice for what happened to me. I don’t tip on the front end because dashers do make mistakes so I tip on the back end but this man never even allowed me to tip him because immediately not even a second later after delivering both orders he insulted me for not tipping it takes a minute or two to review the dasher and store then leave a tip..Version: 5.39.0
Poor ServiceThis service is sometimes terrible and the company just doesn’t care. I ordered from a local restaurant tonight. After having my delivery time moved later and later for 45 minutes with no response from my driver, I inquired with a live Door Dash customer service rep as to the whereabouts of my order. While they were giving me a bunch or corporate speak about how they take food freshness and temperature so seriously, the dasher texted me to say that they were given a second delivery from the same restaurant that was taking longer than mine. I mean the restaurant is 15 minutes away. They could have delivered and returned to the restaurant easily enough. While I appreciated the response from the dasher, it was completely opposite everything the customer service rep was telling me. When I let the customer service rep know that the dasher contradicted them, they immediately ended and deleted the thread. About 10 minutes later the dasher brought my food with an apology. The food was 45 minutes old…not good. Honestly I’ve had both good and bad experiences but you should know that there will be times they ruin your evening and they really don’t care. I’m sure they have a well crafted response to posts like this but they just don’t really care about the customer or your experience..Version: 4.112.2
Feedback/Ratings Needs Help!I’ve watched how this app has improved over time in terms of functionality and service. I use DD regularly. The one issue they still have is their rating process in terms of writing reviews (btw, I tried to give this feedback in the DD app directly but I couldn’t find that as an option so I came to the App Store to do that. It doesn’t make sense that they don’t offer customer feedback within the app). The typing functionality on DD is pretty bad on iPhones. The platform doesn’t allow for auto-predict/spelling/autocorrect or other functions that make typing/writing easy—such as my experience now typing this. Also, a lot of times when you tag the dish in your review, it’ll untag itself while you’re typing which defeats the purpose of tagging your reviews. In 2024 DD, which relies on restaurant ratings as a major part of its platform experience, REALLY needs to improve its typing functionality. A lot of reviews I’ve seen that were negative are short without much context probably because it’s such a pain to type in that app! Still, I try because I believe in offering context and details when I can—as y’all can see here 😁. People who read reviews like to know *why* someone liked or didn’t like something. So DD, please improve that and add an obvious “Customer Feedback” link so we can tell you directly how to improve..Version: 6.28.0
😒I’m giving 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️because 95% of the time my order is wrong I’m not blaming DoorDash because of the employees at the restaurant don’t do their job right and make sure the food is correct but when you sit here and spend money over and over and over again and you’re paying for the DoorDash membership, you would think DoorDash at least compensate you something when the order is wrong it’s not my fault just because I’ve had a lots of past experience that were not good. I don’t want free food and I don’t care about the credit. I want The correct food when I first order it and it’s a lot of times it’s Bojangles that’s usually the only place I have an issue with most of the time And I will literally have pictures and you won’t even get my refund or anything. Just be careful with your order and I have ordered from a lot of places on here through DoorDash so fair warning do not order from Bojangles in Selma nc, because they surely don’t knowThe difference from dark meat and white meat. At first when I was doing my review, I was gonna only get your dad to stores but it’s not your fault, but customer service could handle things a little bit better. There’s no communication at all even when you tried to call them even when you try to talk to the actual agent there is no good Communication or good supportIt is always rest in the Atlee. Don’t know what I’m doing just like the employees at the restaurant.Version: 6.39.0
Mostly reliable and reasonableDoor dash is a fairly reliable food and grocery delivery app. Sometimes orders take a bit longer than projected and on occasion they take much longer, although that instance is seldom. My food typically arrives fresh, but on the rare occasion that I am missing an item, or something about the food is poor in quality, DD has given me a refund for the item in question. Over all, it’s pretty good and any issues are usually handled in a timely manner. I do wish there were ways to hold drivers more accountable for the items so that they wouldn’t drive off with my drink as often. Perhaps implementing a checklist or something could help for both pickup and delivery. I also wish that there were more ways to make or notate customizations on the order. Something as simple as an “order notes” section so I can tell the restaurant “no pickles” for example, because I don’t like wasting food, but I also don’t like pickles and if there’s not an option to mark “not pickles” then I could put that in the order notes or something. Dash Pass seems to be worth it if you order on here regularly, I don’t have it since I don’t order very often, so I do wish DD would do like additional one time use coupons or something. I think it’d make ordering more enticing in general and it would also help save money. Also, tip your dasher..Version: 6.40.0
2 times now door dash stole my money???OK so anytime I order food and I ask for a refund I always get it really cool about it with the food. And I don’t ask for refunds like I have the product. I’m willing to give it back you know. I have it untouched when I asked for a refund in case they want to come back and get it so they can take it back to the store. This is the second time I’ve ordered alcohol and they just refused to refund anytime it’s alcohol for me. I don’t know if it’s the same for everyone and if it’s because it’s alcohol or not but they’re not telling me why they’re not not refunding they’re just like oh, we reviewed it and big old NO. Denied with no explanation whatsoever like why did they decide not to refund me yet that’s what I wanna know. I got the product this time at least and I guess they probably like replaced the product because it’s with the same company. It’s just not the one I wanted. So this time it’s not so bad. About two months ago I ordered like 30 bucks or more in alcohol and the driver stole my order straight up because I used to work for DoorDash recently and I know you have to card to handover alcohol. You can’t just leave it at someone’s door. Last order I had my order stolen by the driver and I reported it and they said that they denied me my refund because that I got my order when I never did I was waiting with my ID and nobody ever came. This is two strikes and I’m a member and I pay yearly membership so it’s like I’ve never complained about anything but when things go missing or they give me a substitute and I didn’t want a substitute I’d rather them just drop the whole order but they won’t talk to me about it..Version: 6.7.0
Used to be my faveWell, the prices were annoying and I didn’t like that I had to tip before my dasher got to my place yet I ordered frequently anyway. Until I moved out of my parent’s home. I thought it was something to be celebrated, but living in my apartment has been hard for DoorDash. They can’t get anything right. I’ve ordered here twice. Both times the delivery person wouldn’t answer my phone calls, got frustrated with me when I asked where they were, and wouldn’t come to my door with my order. Isn’t that the point of DoorDash? I don’t want to have to move a lot. That’s the point. Would have been easier both times to just not be so lazy. What is it with you people and deliveries? I don’t get it. My apartment is not confusing. You walk up the steps of my building and ring the bell. Twice they haven’t delivered. Literally. I had to walk. I tipped 20% bc I know my apartment is slightly inconvenient to get to.. sure. But both times the Dasher threatened to leave food in a “Safe Place”. Where? Next to the dumpster behind my apartment for raccoons to get it? I gave exact instructions to both Dashers and they were both wrong. Both times they got my name wrong while “delivering”. First one had her family in her car to gain sympathy. Second one “dashed” all over my apartment complex and called his boss to find me. His boss. Not me. I’m confused. No “third time is a charm”. Done. Overpaying for food I could’ve gotten myself, tip before they get here, and terrible service is why I’m uninstalling the app..Version: 3.1.61
Never gets it rightI have ordered twice and both times terrible service. First time my order delivery eta was 45 mins. Delivery didn’t come for over an hour... the restaurant is 5 mins from my house and is pre-made food. I ordered a burrito bowl with specific fixings and the order was totally wrong. Smh Tried again tonight and waiting for 90 mins for my order again delivery eta was. 45 mins. Received an update 60 mins later order would be delivered in 39 mins. 50 mins later I see the order still hasn’t been picked up from the restaurant yet and the restaurant is about to close in 20 mins. I contacted DoorDash customer service my self bc they didn’t contact me... they tell me there are no dashers in the area. Closest is 9 miles away. So clearly there is no way they’ll make the restaurant before closing. They then tell me I’ve already been charged but will receive a refund. Smh how is it ok to charge someone for anything you can not even confirm will be delivered and hasn’t even been prepared by the restaurant? And then not keep the customer properly updated about the lack of availability of a the delivery personnel? The delivery eta is total false advertising and the transaction process is seriously flawed as I now have to wait days for a refund smh. Now I see why a lot of restaurants do not want to participate in this service and many that once participated have opted out of the service. The only thing the customer service rep did was apologize and offer a $5 credit toward another order. Smh ridic!!! Horrible service. I highly recommend Uber eats or go puff they have a much better system in place..Version: 3.0.79
Papa John’s pizzaHello. It’s Sunday and August 4, 2024. I’m in North Port Florida we are having a bad storm turning in to a Hurricane and possible Headed our way Hurricane Debbie. I called the pool John’s store in north port and they said they had NO Power and couldn’t cook pizzas. Ok. I called Popa John’s in Pt Charlotte Florida and got a online person who was very kind and took my order and as I was giving her my credit card number, I was just about to give her the expiration date and the call got disconnected the caller that was taking my order never returned my call and so then I realized she wasn’t calling me back so I decided to call Port CharlottePapa John’s in Port Charlotte, Florida, and the person there answered and said they also were not taking orders for pizza because the stores were closed because of hurricane weather so I decided to call the North Port FLORIDA Papa John’s back, and a person answered at the store and hung up on me after talking to me and telling me that they also were not taking orders and in the middle of my conversation, telling him that I had given somebody my credit card numberhe hung up on me. The gentleman at the North Port Papa John’s FLORIDA pizza shop just hung the phone up on me now I’ve called back and there was no answer so I decided to just go online and put my order in through DoorDash in Northport, Florida Papa John’s for delivery, a pizza, chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon buns, and a Pepsi and some chicken nuggets. I hope I get my order tonight or someone calls me back to let me know that I’m not getting any order because of the weather.i.Version: 6.29.0
Very suspectWell, I had a great experience with my Dasher. However, I went to increase his tip by five dollars and that exact same moment DoorDash charge my card $7.19. This means they increase the Dashers tip by five dollars and found a 40% commission by increasing the taxes on my receipt at the exact same moment cleverly that I increased the tip. Now this increase on the taxes couldn’t have been because the taxes were actually higher because this charge was processed before the Dasher ever got to check out. So later on I called DoorDash back and I let them know that they had charged me an additional two dollars and I have a time stamped receipt where the charge went through at the exact moment where I increased the Dashers tip by five dollars and that is very clear DoorDash text me 40% on the five dollar tip and kept it for themselves. I asked to have my $2.19 returned but I told them they better not mess with that man’s tip because he did an excellent job however, when I looked back at my receipt, they did refund me to $2.19 out of the man’s tip and not from their own pocket, where they kept it. The lady who I spoke with also had a strange in which I had to give her a lecture that she should not act this way to people who are giving her plenty of time to clarify and treating her very respectfully, especially. Honestly, I did place another order with them today, but I’m very suspect about this company and I will never make any changes or increases after my order is placed again and if one more thing goes wrong with them, I will delete their app. They are not treating customers well or their employees well and they are profiting and this is not good..Version: 7.26.1
Very convenient, doesn’t offer much customizationI have absolutely fallen in love with door dash. As an introvert and someone with bad anxiety the option to get food delivered to my door is amazing. The fees for the app can get high, however, for the unbeatable convenience it offers, that isn’t too bad. The app is very understanding of those looking to safely receive food without covid risks too or just those who would rather retrieve their food without interaction and I’ve had very good experiences with drivers always following delivery instructions. One huge perk to this app is that it offers delivery to locations that otherwise wouldn’t have it, like rural areas which I find to be very helpful. They are very generous with new customer deals and the app is well thought out. I do wish you could browse menus from closed restaurants with more ease, however, I don’t find that to be a major issue. My only problem with the service is that there are very rarely enough customization options like I would want. I am a vegetarian and lover of condiments, so its a huge bummer that you often can’t select extra add ons like more sauce or things of the like, and are often stuck with very little in the way of room to choose to opt out of specific ingredients. This lack of leeway is highly due to other restaurants’ willingness to allow customization, I believe, but the platform should be able to require this in my opinion. Aside from that I would totally recommend this app, I just wish that overall it could better accomidate pickier eaters like myself..Version: 4.95.0
Time Savor Life SavorI been a fan of DoorDash for a number of years now. When this type of service was experimental, the company more or less leading the way was called “Entrees On Trays” but there were a lot of bugs, kinks and shortcomings to be worked out. By the time DoorDash entered the arena, an evolution was well underway and would soon change the landscape of and facilitate the global workforce’s ability to earn an honest living. We have come to know this global phenomenon as the Gig Economy and participation is only growing! 36% or 57.3 million workers in the US participate and 15.8 million participants are Full Timers! In 2018 full time independents workers generated $1.28 trillion revenue for the US Economy! The Gig Economy is actually expanding 3 times faster than the whole of the US Workforce and after having tested out all the available options in this vast and competitive genre of food delivery services, I’ve found DoorDash to be the industry’s leader; no matter how you slice it. Incidentally, after several years of enjoying the service, and a burning desire to recoup some well deserved tips enjoyed by my drivers, I hopped on that bandwagon and am loving the freedom of working with DoorDash as a driver myself! DD pays the best, has the best Driver Software and their Customer Service and Driver Support are the finest in the industry! Do ya feel like giving a new restaurant a try, but the wait is still too long, or it’s raining outside, or a pick-up would involve a swing by the gas station? Every reason is perfect justification to save your fuel and call DoorDash! We’ll be right there!.Version: 7.18.1
Don’t use unless you want ripped off, stolen money from and lied to. :)I only rated 5 stars so it’s seem. So I double dashed my order, I ordered from chipotle and speedway. The Dasher then had to take a photo of the receipts but tried to be sneaky and took pictures of the same receipt of the chipotle one and ran off with my speedway order. The dashers name was Jeffrey and in the Lima OH area. I contacted DoorDash when the order was dropped off and I said how only 1 of my 2 orders were there. The said since I had met a threshold of refunds I couldn’t get another. I have to get refunded for almost every one of my orders or some part of it anymore. There is always something missing, something getting stolen and so on and DoorDash has done nothing to solve it. I then went through support and talk to “Shubam.” Not only did they not help, I asked to be transferred to someone else and they refused, I asked 4 times. Then before I could respond they ended the chat. I’m quite done with DoorDash because my money and my order was stolen from me. I honestly recommend using Instacart guys. It may take a little longer but they have way more stores and I feel like that’s worth it. I’ve never had to deal with instacart support because there are way more protocols put into place for how the orders are laid out..Version: 6.48.0
System Fails to Flag FraudI had an account two year ago, and would often be in contact with doordash support due to resteraunts sending a sauce with allergens that I had requested not be included within the order. These ingredients were not listed in the food items details but would arrive with them, despite my repeated notes that they be sent without it. Doordash support always apologized but I believe they should strongly encourage resteraunts to follow the special instructions. Later I was the victim of a $100+ fraudulent shawarma order. I immiediately contacted doordash support and they said they can’t do anything to stop an order in progress even though it was fraud and the delivery was set to take place two provinces away. After the order was delivered they said they could refund me after they investigate. Though the support woman said she could see I was calling from SK and the order was placed in AB) , it still took two weeks to receive the refund. Doordash support then said that to issue my refund they’d have to flag my account as fraudulent but I could create a new one. Two years later I’m still barred from doordash, my phone number+name was flagged so even using a new email I cannot create a new account. I contacted support again today to ask what can be done and was told that it’s the systems fault it’s automatically flagging me and they cannot do anything about it. The developers definitely need to address the systems inability to allow consumers to flag a fraudulent order in progress, and there should be a way for customer service to address the wrongful flagging of a customers information..Version: 3.1.33
Excellent service but very expensiveDoorDash is an excellent service to have, especially that it broadens the number of restaurants that one can get delivered from. The only drawback is its very high price. I understand that it's a business, and you have to make a profit. But it does make DoorDash the kind of thing one will only do maybe once every few months, and when in a certain mood and flush with funds and otherwise desperate and don't want to shop and/or prepare food. I will say that the customer service, based out of San Francisco I think, is absolutely excellent -- if you're having a problem, they will solve it, whether that means cancelling a request that never came and crediting your account, or changing a request, or getting in touch with a hard-to-reach delivery person. This, for me, sets DoorDash apart from other modern web-based services -- particularly Uber (not UberEats -- I've never used that, so I don't know). On the whole, I'd say it's an excellent luxury, but one has to be prepared to pay for it. Also, on more than one occasion, the driver cancelled AFTER he'd picked up my food -- in every case, Door Dash took care of it -- but it's still a pain in the neck -- they should have to suffer real consequences when they do that -- like a month where you can't work for Door Dash..Version: 6.3.4
Read Review Please!Drivers only get payed $2.50 per delivery without tips. It does not matter how far the delivery is. The only reason it ever goes up is if other dashers have declined it before. This company is awful towards their dashers. If dashers were payed more, they probably would be more willing to put forth the effort on every delivery! They also allow basically ANYONE to dash at ANY time. Making every area WAY TOO OVERCROWDED. Meaning the dasher won’t make any money that day. As someone who used to dash myself and was rated 5 stars, I maybe made $5 an hour after all vehicle and gas expenses. Made $15 an hour when I first started but then a surge of new dashers came a ruined that. So if you get cold food and constantly complain about awful deliveries, blame it on the company who literally hires ANYONE to dash and doesn’t allow you to pick your dasher. Don’t listen to the advertisements. Those are are old estimates earnings. When they still needed more dashers. Now they are overpopulated with bad dashers and can’t even push out more than 1 or 2 orders and hour for each of them. So if you get your food cold then I’m sorry. Until this company stops being cheap, you better be ready to tip your drivers $4 to $5 if you want a good delivery experience. And order from a place within 3 to 5 miles. You maybe can get by with a $2 to $3 tip if your within 2 miles but that is the minimum for sure. I’m sorry it is this way. But it’s the time only way these delivery drivers will make any money now a days. Thanks for reading and I hope things get better for everyone. This company makes tons of money every year. They can afford to pay $4 to $5 a delivery. So greedy..Version: 4.62.0
How DoorDash Steals from It's CustomersToday I had a conversation with DoorDash about order cancellations and refunds. I had evidence on my side so I thought the exchange would be easy enough. I thought wrong. I took screenshots of the full conversation and even have proof that DoorDash messed up. This did not matter to the representative as one excuse or another was generated on why she couldn't refund the entirety of my order. As can be seen, three orders were marked as "Too Far" and "Refunded" however my card was still charged. I didn't notice until I got the statement the next month showing that those charges were never "refunded" as DoorDash assured they would be. After contacting them, I was first told that the order had been delivered (no it hadn't) then I was told that I had waited too long to ask for a refund. A refund that I was already informed had occurred. So asking why I didn't contact them immediately -- because the order had been indictated as refunded back to the card. Stay away from companies that handle their business this way. I’m sure I’m not the only one with this complaint and that this is happening to many people who use their app. As you can read from the conversation, the rep was insinuating that I was the one being deceitful about those 3 orders and that she had evidence that they were delivered (Though, for some unknown reason, she refused to provide the photographic proof she evidently had on file). Nobody likes to be called a liar let alone when the truth is right in front of you and you have proof and DoorDash agents seem to love proving their customers wrong..Version: 4.11.0
UNPROFFESIONAL DASHERSThis delivery app was getting better with more restaurants and on time delivery. Then I had 2 deliveries in a row where the Dasher was late with my food. This last delivery was the worst. I actually got notified by the app saying my dasher picked up my food and is on his way. So i look to see where he was on the map and he was stopped at Jollibee. Seriously, why would you pick up another order when you already have my food sitting in your car. NOT OK. That defeats the purpose of actually getting it delivered. I should’ve picked up myself had i known the dasher was going to stop somewhere else for 15 minutes. App tells you to contact the dasher about order status. So i message the dasher and he gives me lame answers. So i finally asked why he was sitting at Jollibee when he should bringing my food. The app tells me estimated time is before 4:05 pm then it start going up to 4:26 pm. That’s when i ask the dasher when he plans to deliver my food. He then calls and rudely tells me there is road construction and he’s driving, so texting him is distracting. Why are you calling me while you are driving? Why are you texting and driving? That is illegal sir. So i watch as he SPEEDS to my house to make the original time. Then he tells me that I shouldn’t rush him, Sir think about it. I see Jollibee in your car and you should have delivered my food before picking that up. Don’t blame me for your life choices. So I no longer subscribe to Door Dash and neither should you. Hope this is informative ✌🏼.Version: 4.30.0
