But I think ur software is working good & I do love it so I changed the rating just cuz tech this app has always been my go to trusted VPN connection even at work. it's very easy to use & works never had prob till this situation but it’s not ur app. I do still have a question & minor sugg to provide some screenshots with app settings or what we should expect to see for the settings esp cuz most ppl aren’t very VPN let alone IT savvy but in my situation it’s HUGE in order for me to make sure things are set correctly & not modified by folks that shouldn’t b on my phone/network. Warp + and false connectivityWhen using certain protocols it would state under the diagnostic section 1.1.1.1 instead of warp+ as to where the other protocols state offline. Sometimes it will revert to off even though the selector switch shows that it is on. Not sure if this is an actual intrusion in the attempt to look into any discrepancies towards the platform, an isolated incident, or a deliberate act of network intrusion which I verified with other users that some have experience these types of issues until they change ip addresses and ensuring their devices are encrypted and protected. However they’re occasions where I have found individuals within my residence committing cyber intrusions and causing my network and devices to not work properly. From my personal experience, It’s unfortunate that we live in a society of heavy congestion of violators and intrusive people and it’s even worse that it’s an addiction for their criminal habits. Everything has a digital footprint; regardless if your personal devices are encrypted always expect it to be intruded. On the upside of this program it at least informs me with diagnostics and other viable information of this attack and what commands were being thrown whether through https, txt, cf, bot attack, or any other malicious intent, using and rerouting a backup to ensure its privacy from identity thieves, third party intruders, white hat hackers, etc. It’s a reliable operating system to have if you know what you’re looking for. Does what it says but plagued by technical issuesI’m a big fan of CloudFlare and their line of solutions, I’ve been running 1.1.1.1 on my router since it was released and was really excited to try their WARP+. I’ve had the app for a couple months now and have used it as much as possible however there are serious issues with it unable to establish connections. Idk if it’s a server issue on their side or something in the way they configure the VPN on my phone. At least once a day I have to pause my connection to access some pretty popular sites like Reddit, and TikTok. That said I maintain this is a great product and for the most part it works 80-90% of the time. Good idea, but kills my batteryI saw a friend using this app on his iPad. I then went to the web and researched it. I thought the goals of this app (better privacy, speed) were really good ones, and I thought the app was an innovative way of achieving them. Unfortunately, I found the app was killing my battery. I downloaded it to my 12.9” iPad Pro, my 11” iPad Pro, and my iPhone XS Max, and it was the same on all of them. As soon as I disabled the app, my battery drain returned to normal. Interestingly, as someone else mentioned in their review, the battery indicators on my iPads and iPhone didn’t show the app as using much battery. More Secure & Faster: Oxymoron No LongerThis application works exactly as described by the developer. However, not only is every listed feature useable, but there are many unintended but extremely beneficial side effects. Typically in the tech world security and speed are contradictions. Not in the case of 1.1.1.1 for iOS. Content loads faster, especially from hosts utilizing Cloudflare's edge CDN services. Domain names resolve accurately to the appropriate addresses (Even on Cellular Data!) Finally, your DNS queries are protected against snoops and spys who may not be able to see your HTTPS traffic but are quite content with recording what domains you access, as well as would be MITM attackers trying to scalp login credentials for your bank, email, anything... Both "DNS over HTTPS" and "DNS over TLS" are available to configure under "Settings -> Advanced -> Connection." The default is HTTPS but I set mine to TLS. One unintended benefit is your device won't hold on to weak WiFi signals excessively long anymore, before checking if there is a better connection available. It also allows you to override the DNS provided by hotspots without breaking the captive portals used to agree to their terms. Just install this app, give it permission to create it's On-Demand VPN profile, and blast off to browsing that's backed by Cloudflare, an entity I trust not only to provide quality services, but to adhere to ethical traditions of not abusing that trust. Usually works great...This latest update made my phone unable to connect to the Internet via both Wi-Fi and cellular. I was going crazy trying to figure out why my phone wouldn't make a connection, even though the little icons showed I should be able to. I restarted my phone three different times, but it was still a brick, with data bars showing. Finally occurred to me too check this VPN, and once I disabled it everything worked normally again. Actual VPN - encrypts your traffic and routes it through a vpn network so that your traffic is encrypted and appears to be coming from a different location. No log vpn - same as above, but doesn’t log what you do. DNS vpn - encrypts traffic to the mimecast domain name server - doesn’t change your external IP address Ways to test - with vpn turned off, go to google and search “what’s my ip” this gives you your IP address. With an actual VPN - do the same test, your results will be different. With DNS vpn, do the same test - your results should match the first test. What this means - if you’re trying to hide your location or get around location based blocks (for Netflix for example) then this vpn won’t work - you’ll need an actual vpn. Good for low connection issuesWe went to vacation in this small town this past weekend and I needed a connection booster since my LTE was disrupted and the wifi connection wasn’t strong. I used my LTE and connected this vpn, it ended up boosting my connection and I was able to watch videos and talk to people. Randomly started failing todayI had to uninstall it. I finally just got warp the other day, installed iOS13.1, and the new 1.1.1.1 app update. The VPN refused to stay disconnected for more then a couple hundred milliseconds, but wouldn’t pass traffic if connected. It worked fine for the first day though. The problem persisted after a device restart, forcing me to uninstall it. It was considerably less buggy prior to this, I only had to force the phone to airplane mode about once a week. There was a good length of time where 1.1.1.1 and then warp would frequently cut out and I would need to turn the VPN off. No support even when payingThis has been a great app for the past year or so I’ve used it, but when something goes wrong, there is absolutely no support. I have been paying monthly for WARP+ Unlimited. Over the last week, there has been high latency on all devices using WARP. I submitted in “Get Feedback” in the app and got an auto-response essentially saying “we may or may not get back to you”. I tried emailing the regular Cloudflare support address and got another auto-response that the case was closed since I am not a paying customer (even though I am paying for WARP+ Unlimited). It tells you to post in Cloudflare Community, where there has been a thread going of several people in different locations reporting the same symptoms and starting time, but no response from Cloudflare staff. Basically, it’s a great service when it works, but don’t expect any support when it doesn’t. I have cancelled my Unlimited subscription. Great when it worksThis app is an easy way to get access to private dns requests, but in the last few weeks, half of the updates break my internet connection. However, it doesn’t handle hopping from access points on a mesh WiFi network cleanly or transitioning from WiFi to LTE. Good idea, iffy experienceI installed the app on my iPad about 6 weeks ago, at first it performed like a champ then after I changed the password for my network and reconnected my iPad to my network the problems began. Absolutely brilliant, but complete data hogI have been waiting for years for a service like this to come out. I love how it is always on, meaning you never have to remember to reopen the app. I also really appreciate how it asks you if you only want to turn it off for a small period of time, as opposed to forever. This way I don't have to worry about turning it back on. Unfortunately the app is not perfect though, there are periods when it gets so slow that websites just won't load. Might be a growing pain due to load on their network. I unfortunately has to turn it off for good though because the amount of data that is uses is absolutely insane. Useless now. Very slow (quite literally unusable) and somehow uses tons of mobile data with WiFi onIf Cloudflare doesn’t want to offer a free vpn, it shouldn’t. Everything is so slow that the phone is unusable on it, and on top of that, even though WiFi is on, it uses mobile data, and for some reason, 10x more than when it’s off. There was also a time when my battery died so much quicker when warp was enabled. Given that Cloudflare has so much bandwidth, the service being “free” and it appearing to not have the privacy of other VPNs (though, paid), you would think they could get the other stuff right. Considering I have apple iCloud private relay (though, I think it only works on Apple apps and in certain use cases— much like warp used to) you should provide a way to connect the subscription or something, especially since Cloudflare is one of 3 (to my knowledge) companies that do private relay, and probably contributed the most to its development. When I began traveling more (and encountering more public WiFi networks), though, it became a huge problem. Starts off great but progressively deteriorates in quality.In my personal experience with this app when I first installed it on my IPhone 6s, which had been getting very slow in the past years, I saw significant improvement in the connection to my wifi. App went BonkersEither the last update or the app got corrupt real bad and it messed up my ability to be able to connect to Wifi. The wifi app would come on in task bar with plenty of bars but I kept getting errors that I was not connected to internet! It took me hours to figure this out. The problem is that the VPN connection doesn’t transfer well between WiFi and cellular, so when leaving a hotel or your home don’t expect to have Internet for a while (read many minutes at least): no Siri for directions, no Yelp for recommendations, etc. To make matters worse, the notification system is buggy as well. Very inconsistent speedsI really want to like this app and service. It’s dead simple and helps you hide your browse history from your local ISP who might sell this data. However, after a month of use I had to deinstall it as the speed is way too slow most of the time. I don’t know what the issue is but I have an iPhone 12 Mini and after a short period of fast browsing with 1.1.1.1 enabled the speed drops 100x to sometimes even 1000x (I did a speed test near my router where it dropped from 300Mbps to 0.3Mbps and another speed test away from my router where it dropped from 30Mbps to 0.3Mbps). Disabling and re-enabling the 1.1.1.1 VPN mitigates the speed problem but only for a short period of time. Worked for a long time... then...I’m a big fan of Cloudflare and use them for business every day. I started using 1.1.1.1 within a day or two of its release. I like what it does and the fact that it’s free is awesome. And then the issues begin. I noticed that, periodically, it would cause my Internet to become unstable. Services like Netflix would half work, clearly struggling. Whenever I ran into my Internet partially working I would disable 1.1.1.1 and the issue would immediately go away. Every version breaks worse than the last.I have been trying this every so-often since nearly their very first version. It just never gets reliable. No matter how many versions or updates - it just breaks network access over and over, and destroys battery life in the process. Mysterious notificationsI always like to provide this feedback whenever an app puts a notification in my tray but then when I click on the notification does nothing but open the app as if I have tapped on it from my home screen. Too slow to be usefulFirst, this is not a real vpn. It does not hide your true location or your ip address. Second, your internet becomes slower than dialup. Not always but sometimes.
