Love this app but needs notification fixThis app is awesome. I wish I would have had it for coaching traveling so many years. It has pretty much any function you could ask for when it comes to planning games/practices and communicating with players and their family. The notifications need to be fixed though. I have push only and still receive texts and emails. So now if I get two messages I get 6 notifications even though push only is enabled. Used this app for my team this past seasonThis app has some good qualities about it, but lacks extremely where it matters most. Communication when running a team is one of the most important aspects of operating a team. The chat feature is probably the worst part of this app. Font size is set so small it’s very hard to read messages. No option to increase font size. Can’t change from white or black background. Scrolling through messages is very clunky and jumps from current message to messages from 3 months ago in a micro scroll. Can’t edit a message if you accidentally make a mistake. Can’t edit a group chat if you wanted to change the name. Only option is to completely delete and rewrite. No Home Screen badge notification when a new message comes in. All of these issues are very basic things that should be fixed to make the chat function work better and more efficient for the users. Needs some more work…I manage a club soccer team that recently switched from Team Snap. There are a few things that I like about this app including the fact that payments can be made here, forms submitted and the calendar/RSVP is easy to use. That said, there are a bunch of things missing from PlayMetrics that Team Snap had that I really miss here. 1. The ability to do polls and informal tracking. I’m now back to using texts/emails and spreadsheets to track replies to things like snack etc. 2. The ability to live track games. This was great for parents or players who had to miss a game. They would know, in real-time what was going on. 3. The ability to track records (wins/losses). Our players are too young to track formally, but it would be great to track informally again like we did in Team Snap. 4. One really annoying bug: when I click on a pushed notification to read the contents it crashes the app every single time and I need to log back in. It’s really annoying. Many others on our team have also complained. I see this had been logged by others for quite some time. It would be great to know if you planned on fixing this. As others have stated, we also have no choice but to use this app so we are kind of a captive audience for now. Absolutely the Best Sports Management AppI have 3 kids, all play sports, I have tried out my fair share of sports management apps. I can say with confidence that PlayMetrics is hands down the best. I love that I can simply click the game location from the app, and after selecting my preferred driving directions app, get instant directions. On my iPhone, I was able to choose from Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps, which is super convenient. I also love that PlayMetrics offers me the option to sync my daughter’s soccer game and practice schedules with my Google Calendar. In just a few clicks, all the dates and times are there, making it super easy to stay organized. IPhone interface issuesOverall a decent app, but consistently the functionality and interface doesn’t work well on phone app. An example- you frequently can’t see what you’re typing on iPhone but it’s fine on iPad app version. Just doesn’t seem to have proper software for phone use. And a recent update made it worse. Small but easily fixed item…when you’re using the Calendar on future events, every time you close that future entry it goes back to the current date so then you have scroll back down to future items if you have multiple things to enter. Great app but with annoying bugsThis app is very useful for keeping track of our team’s schedule, and being notified immediately of any changes. However, there are two bugs which drive me crazy and lower my score. First, any time you tap on an iOS notification that opens the app, the app will crash when you try to leave the page after reading the message 100% of the time. Second, for months my inbox says I have an unread message, but I scroll through all of them and they are all already marked as read. The new message icon will not go away. Much betterI’ve been using this as a Team Manager for U11 Girls, we switched from TeamSnap. It took a while to get used to and there was a few issues before the app fixes but since then it’s worked really well and realize now it’s much more useful. Very easy to communicate with everyone on the team and making changes to events is way more straight forward. Plus we don’t get tons of notifications and ads popping up. All the extra stuff like seeing what my daughters coach has planned for practice and getting her player evaluation through the app is really nice to have as a parent..JaneJ85Version: 1.0.8

Ugh. So unreliableOur soccer league started using this app this year. It is so problematic and unreliable to use. Most notably, when you get a notification that there’s an update or a game change or some other new information and you tap on the notification, very consistently the app times out and cannot connect to the servers. It’s almost as if a new notification crashes the servers.I have learned the hard way not to click on a notification and to wait at least one hour for the servers to catch up. Team manager review.We recently switched from TeamSnap and it has taken a bit for the whole team to get used to it. As a team manager it is a very easy to input/change things as needed. A couple of things that other parents have mentioned that could improve the experience: 1) Is there a way to like a post in the chat? In TeamSnap you could like it and it let the coach/TM know that the information was seen by everyone on the team. This has been the biggest complaint I have heard from parents in our club across the board. 2) When posting in a chat, I will post and then have to close out the app and re-open in order to see if it posted. Not a great experienceThis app really is a struggle to use sometimes. The chat feature is super bare bones and often scrolls up when typing so you can’t see what you’re writing. You can’t add links, you can’t really do much. The scheduling stuff works well, but communication is challenging. Most annoying, and what’s prompting me to write this review, is that I have 4 badge notifications that won’t go away. I don’t have any unread messages, but they will not clear. Drives me nuts. Lifesaver for my clubPlayMetrics has been a huge asset for my club especially during COVID. I can easily communicate with my club members and staff, plus the calendars update as soon as I make changes to events or fields. Can’t imagine not using this. Overall decentI’ve used GameChanger in the past and Playmetrics is new to me. Overall it’s ok but it is fairly slow at times. Kind of a pain sometimesThis app is pretty good but sometimes it’s hard to find things. Like within each game there is a chat built-in but it took me a long time to figure out where that was because it wasn’t in the regular chat inbox. Needs some serious adjustmentsThe main issue is if you click on a link in a chat it opens in the apps browser but there is no way to close it. You have to completely close the app and restart it. Clubcentric - expensive for parents.After a few weeks of using this app it is clearly club and corporation centric. The chat feature is not great compared to Ollie. CC transaction charge 2.6% plus .30 for each charge made. Even ACH I am told has fees. When soccer is already expensive and you have 5 kids in it like me. Your looking at a ridiculous additional cost that should not exist save to line someone else’s pockets that provided no real added value. Visibility is clunky for families with more than one parent and more than one player using the app. The parent who started the registration owns the kid and has to share him out with the other parent. The parent who starts the payments must share those too with the other parent or charges cannot be seen. I get why they might have wanted the security here, but the execution is clunky and unintuitive. Overall the app gets the job done for parents, but with probably twice the effort as with Ollie. PlayMetrics needs a parent centric overhaul and get rid of the high transaction fees. after another month or so, using this app, I can clearly say it is not a good app. It gives clubs the abilities to charge ridiculous fees, transaction fees, late fees. it very much has the club in mind and is very very difficult for parents to use. And very confusing navigation and parental grants. Access restriction and hidden functionality. I am not changing any of my statements above. The chat feature is probably the worst I’ve seen in any app that I’ve ever used. Parents who have one kid might not have a problem with this but when you have many kids on many teams, it is very confusing. our old system Ollie was great. Terrible!I heard that this software is great from the club perspective bc it integrates all the different functions in one place (scheduling, billing, emailing, texting, etc.) but it is TERRIBLE from a parent use-ability perspective! It seems the software was made for running on a PC bc I have found it easier to use there, but it is absolutely horrific using the app on my iPhone! It freezes constantly, I have to turn off my phone to reload pretty much every time I open the app, links the club sends for team hotel bookings, etc. open inside the app and then freeze, these links also don’t recognize saved passwords (for example logging in to Marriott, etc. for hotel points) bc they only open inside the app, there is no way to open the links outside the app (so must get on PC), the user interface for the calendar is cumbersome and inefficient, you can’t see if a message has been posted unless you go in and actually open the app to check…. I could go on and on! TeamSnap was what we used for years prior to our club switching to Playmetrics and from a parent-user perspective TeamSnap was SO MUCH BETTER! Ugh. Meant for club use not player/family friendly**newest gripe-my iPad shows a continuous notification, logged in and out, went through emails and chats more than once, deleting old emails or non-important emails, rotated iPad and did all the above again, finally deleted the app but was hoping a year later things would be working well, nope, same problem again, constant notification. I like that I can see the entire day, I see uniform color, time, field number, any notes typed in…that is sweet for sure! I like that I can filter the app to show JUST one schedule instead of 3 mixed together. In the end this app is glitchy and more work than other apps we have used. Clubs will love this app! ClunkyI like having my kids soccer information, group chats, schedules, etc in one place. I wish there were some changes. 1. Notifications show up in multiple places. I do not need a Notification Center in the app. It is redundant. The chat/email is plenty but looking through that and having a Notification Center is completely unnecessary and frustrating when you have notifications multiple times for one small thing. 2. I will click a notification on my phone and it opens the app to the last place I was in the app. For example, I get a chat notification for one child and I open it. It goes to a different chat for another team and it doesn’t automatically refresh that page. You have to close the app and then open, go to the home page and then go and figure out what chat you had a notification in. It is as user friendly as an 2015 era app. 3. Nothing automatically refreshes. You constantly have to go to the home screen and often close the app to get it to refresh. 4. This is the slowest app I use regularly. FrustratingThis app is very poorly designed. It is difficult to navigate and hard to find important information. Example we have training starting next week but cannot be seen on the calendar until after the sessions begin (in fact you can’t even navigate to the calendar until the session has started). If you try to search for it in the registrations it brings up last year not the one that starts in a week. My child is in 2 leagues which you have to change back and forth at the top. It would be nice to see everything on one calendar (including multiple players) rather than having to get out and back in all the time. Menus are all over the place. Buggy and clunkyWe have used this app for soccer for a few years and it has not improved over that time. The setup overall is clunky and ugly, but the worst part is how buggy it is. When scrolling in the chat window it will jump way back in time when u reach the top. The width of the chat window will be fixed one moment then open up the next so now u can scroll side to side. Chat windows should stay fixed. The back buttons do not always work. Other buttons cause the text window to jump up without a keyboard there. Multiple Clubs is a horror show / NO TECH SUPPORT!!Started using this app for a single club (soccer). Worked great. So I was pleased to hear that our Volleyball club was switching to PlayMetrics. But when the Villeyball Club sent out the signup link, the app would not allow me to register. FAQ section was completely worthless and there is no support line anywhere to be found … submitted a request on their chat feature and still have not received a response ~14 hours later. Terrible lack of functionalityEchoing many previous reviews, this app is TERRIBLE from a parent perspective. The communication features are poorly designed and confusing. Worst of all is the design to track attendance. PLEASE fix this so we can mark attendance day of. Kids get sick and there is no way to tell the team on the day of practice or game that my player is injured or can’t make it. Yet, worse of all, I get automated reminder messages to “mark attendance” day of, when the app won’t let me do so any more. HorribleThis app is horrible. The only reason I have it is because my child’s soccer team is using it. Messages will only go out to part of the team and not the whole team. It is very difficult to move around within the app. I’ve used Teamsnap for years and it is 10 times better than this app, there’s no way to know who’s going to any given practice or game. Worst management software everPlayMetrics looks polished, but the experience has been extremely unreliable. Funds continue to be collected while access to payouts is unclear or delayed—creating real risk for any organization managing payroll and operations. Customer support is essentially nonexistent. There’s no phone support, only email, and responses can take 48+ hours if you’re lucky. On top of that, we were assigned a random admin unfamiliar with our account, making even basic issues difficult to resolve. Duplicate EventsI have a major issue with the app—I created a practice schedule for my team, then my sports organization added the same practice schedule to my team. They were trying to be helpful but it created duplicate events. Should be an easy fix—delete one series. But no, PlayMetrics keeps all the events on the calendar but shows them with a strike-through and a cancelation. Now parents are confused if practice is happening or canceled. (Spring season = lots of rain and legit cancellations) How can I do a hard delete of an event series so they actually disappear??? Used to be good but not any moreMy family has used this app for the last two years. Year one, we rarely had issues with the app. Year 2, it has been a nightmare. Frustrating notificationsWhen you get several notifications and open the app to read all messages, the notifications still remain on the phone, so you need to manually clear them every time. Also, within the app, no matter if you read all chat conversations and all messages on the inbox, you always get a badge saying there are new messages. Can’t change passwordIf you get logged out and forget your password you are screwed. There is a button if you forget your password and they send you an email. You click on the email and it puts you back at the exact same in login page, but you need to sign in with your password, but you forgot your password…rinse and repeat. Not a good app experience.Messages and chat are basically separate apps inside the app. Most of it appears to be webviews loading in an app shell. The user experience and navigation is all weird, so don’t expect a native app that’s easy to use. Team Snap had a few problems as well, but this unfortunately is much worse. NOT user friendlyHave had constant problems with this app since my son’s team started using it because it allowed payment options in the app. TeamSnap is much more intuitive and easy to use. Just today, PlayMetrics has sent me 5 notices that my son’s game is canceled (it isn’t) and no one seems to know why this is happening or how to stop it. The interface is convoluted, especially if you have more than one team or child in the system and requires lots of navigation to find the screen you are looking for.
