ReservationsI love the app! There are a few things that can be worked on though. Adding a buddy to the tracking system so we can track each other didn’t seem to work for us. The last thing that would be helpful is the fact that a lot of mountains require us to make reservations, it would be nice if we could reserve days at certain mountains on the app instead of having to go to the website. Maybe both of these things can be completed with ease and we just messed it up. Anyways the app is amazing and so is the Ikon Pass! Worth every penny for a skier or boarder..Orca boarderVersion: 5.0

Good when you've got coverage, useless otherwiseThe app does a solid job at what it aims to do when you've got mobile data coverage, but it will do essentially nothing (other than continue to track your movement) if you don't have coverage. This means that if you're somewhere without coverage (many if not most places in a ski resort) and want to look at a map, you can't. You also can't start tracking (even without sharing your location with others) without coverage. Since I don't track myself the whole day (for phone battery reasons), the app is generally non-functional 80% of the time I want to use it due to not having cell coverage. Caching the list of resorts and maps for offline access would solve this problem. Additionally, allowing users to start tracking without coverage should be quite feasible. The app is 80% of the way there in terms of functionality but only 40% of the way there in terms of real-world usability. Realizing the remaining 60% is not hard though..MightimausVersion: 5.301.0

Terrible Tracking SystemThere is not much the application can do that is specific to the application, other than tracking across multiple IKON resorts. This is frankly one of the worst tracking systems I have ever experienced! Even though my location services is turned to, “always,” constantly click, “start tracking,” and leave the phone in the mobile application, it still fails to track and keeps leaving the session. Tracking Not GreatFix it to auto tacking when your lift pass tags the chairlift!!!!!! This is the first year I’ve had IkonPass, usually I do the epic Pass and I loved that it (EPIC) tracks every left you go on when tagging your pass to get on the lift and then you can tell your vertical feet and all the chairlifts that you’ve been on. This one is a little different where you actually have to click start tracking in the beginning and then it tracks actual runs you go on which is cool, and speed etc. IF it would actually work. I turned it on to track and it said that I only skied for 1.5 hours even though I skied about 5 hours. So now I don’t have my real stats. And it’s going to be annoying to remember to turn on the start tracking every time I ski..sigh Another complaint is why can’t I reserve a day to ski on the mountain through the app??? Why do I have to go to the web page in browser to book? App is ok but definitely could use some fixes. Seems pretty basic at the moment, hopefully it’ll get better....we pay enough for this pass.... Room for improvementThe friend group feature needs a lot of improvement. Why can't I permanently add friends instead of needing to create a new session every time I start tracking? If people stop and start tracking to save battery they have to click the link every time they restart tracking to get back into the group. Additionally, having to actually hit start tracking is really annoying considering the EpicMix app is able to track via lift check in points. Also, if someone has one account and two ikon passes (family), the app can't figure out how to differentiate the two users, preventing you from tracking more than one of those people at a time..LlbeancakeVersion: 1.1.0

So... I like it, but it drops far too oftenI like this app, but it loses connection and stops tracking far too often. At Big Sky last week it dropped me every time I went to Mineral Basin... I lost thousands of feet of vertical. It seems that the app needs an internet connection (beyond a GPS connection) to continue to work. Great for skiing on all Ikon MountainsThis is overall a great app because it shows you stats you can keep track of, the locations of others in your group, and tracks your runs. It works on all Ikon Mountains so it’s very versatile. But one feature that would be awesome to add in would be if you could play back the exact movement you went through the trails, kind of like a path that you could see after you skied. Tracking good, friends badUsing next to my Garmin watch I’m getting a fairly good (if not slightlygenerous) tracking for speed and runs, but I don’t expect that to be perfect. It works for what it is. Adding friends however, is abysmal. I send my ikon pass holder friend the link and it does nothing. Tried this with multiple friends. Tweaked iPhone settings, permissions, restarted etc and nothing. Just seems to be a completely non working feature. And when I called customer service their main advice: make sure GPS is on. Reservation system failsThe app is generally good but a key component is flawed. The reservation system fails when you try to look at your reservations or get new ones. An error message says “email needed for this function” even though I’m signed into my email. Deleting the app and reloading sometimes works but then oddly it occurs again. Nice appBring back MPH!!!, I like this app, sometimes the tracking isn’t accurate or it will confuse a lift for a run in the area but judging based off my last use of this app(yesterday), they may have repaired that. Pretty straight forward app that is easy to navigate, I like the layout. I like being able to add your friends for the day. I really miss the MPH feature because id like to know how fast I’m going sometimes 🥺. Great app but tracking needs to fixedThe app is great when it works. However, it has logged me out of my session without any warning and the days session is gone without any hope of recovering it. Attempting to restart the app and starting tracking requires an internet connection, so I couldn’t start tracking again until I got service on my phone. Game changer when on the mountain with friendsThis app is amazing. The tracking and stats are really fun but my favorite part is the ability to see exactly where your friends in your group are on the mountain, even down to the exact trail or what % up a lift they are. First time using. Having login problemsLayout seems nice and looks like a good app though I cannot log in. After I entered my credentials on the pop up window the app says there was an error communicating with the server and retry later. Has done this for about 3 days now. No luck. Not sure if I entered information wrong either because if I go to sign in again the pop up window comes up real quick then disappears. App Randomly stops trackingVery impressed with the level of detail this app captures. The issue I had was it would randomly stop tracking. If you didn’t constantly keep checking you might end the day, like I did, discovering that half your day wasn’t tracked. Also Adding a Buddy is overly complicated. Better than EpicThe Ikon app is definitely better than the Epic Mix app. The buddy tracking system is incredible for when you have a big group of people! However, there is one thing that the Epic Mix does better. On there, you can filter runs by different criteria to show up on the map, including only showing groomed runs. 2022 season issuesOverall the app works great. Sharing locations with friends so we can find each other easily is a great addition. However I personally started tracking on the Slopes app instead now because it syncs with Strava so I can track my workout. I would love if the Ikon app allowed this fitness functionality as well. So close to perfectLove the app especially the tracking feature. Was sad to see that one hour of our day was not tracked yesterday. Great App...ButI was so stoked when IKON came out with this app. The tracking works great, I love having access to all the trail maps, and the weather updates are nice too. Winter Park to Mammoth MountainSince I bought my IKON pass, I have been able to ski with my daughter who is attending Colorado University in Boulder. Spring skiing was available for me on my new pass at Winter Park, so, we checked this out, and it was super fun. Great bonding time, and memories made with my daughter. Last weekend, I went to Mammoth with some of my friends. We all had a blast, and skied for three days. It snowed on the last day, and actually got some pow pow. I highly recommend getting the pass. The latest edition is awfulSomeone changed the logic so it doesn’t work unless you have an active internet connection so they can track you. All other skiing apps will let you load a map from your phone’s memory and track you via GPS until you get to the lodge and may be in wifi or cellular range. Not this app! Even if you have skied the same resort before and have the base map stored in your phone, this app won’t start your tracking session unless they can connect to the IKON servers to they can send you ads and collect your marketing information. Did you forget to start the app until your at the top of the chair? Too bad. You don’t get credit for any runs you did in the back bowls. Skiing a new place with friends? The app needs 2 minutes to collect that marketing information from your phone before you can start your session or join theirs. It’s ridiculous, especially considering I have two other apps that always start immediately..CrazyfreedudeVersion: 5.224.0

Not a great companyBeware when buying a pass from ikon, this company and its customer service are not great. I had bought the ikon base pass for the first time this season and did not buy insurance, I am a confident skier and was already spending tons $$$ on the pass. During my first trip and first day of use, I fell and was severely injured on the hill. The doctor told me I am out for the rest of the season and wrote a note for me to give to ikon. I called ikon shortly after, waited forever to talk to someone & they would not refund or even defer my pass to the next season since 1 it was past the deferral date & 2 I had already used the pass. I am now out tons of money from buying the pass and paying doctor bills. I understand the risk when skiing but ikon could have at least differed my pass or given a partial refund. Great features; however, they don’t workIn theory, this app is incredible. To be able to track your progress, see your speed, altitude, which runs you went on, their degree of difficulty, and how many calories you burned is a lot of fun. Great idea, poor executionThe app is a great idea and has some great features. The issue is that half the time the tracking does not want to start and will require a dance of killing the app and toggling airplane mode to get tracking to start. When tracking does run, it is not accurate. I run ski tracks at the same time on the same phone and the results very widely; however, when doing the math on vertical feet ski tracks is always more accurate. Furthermore the ikon tracking (vert ft) will vary wildly between friends that are running the app and skiing the exact same runs as me. Finally the app has randomly stopped tracking, leaving my totals much lower than they should be. Additional suggestion. Tons of info, except for the info you needWhen you click on a destination, the app should clearly tell you the reservation policy and allow you to make a reservation. It does not do this. Some of the reservation-required destinations have a link directly to make a reservation. Others don’t, you have to go to the pass website. Give me the information I need about reservations quickly and easily. Let me make a reservation right from the app. Crystal, deer valley and big sky all require reservations, but this info is not available on the destination information, nor the ability to make a reservation directly. Difficult to useNow that we have to make reservations at many resorts because of Covid, can you pls do 2 things: (1) Reduce the number clicks from the app home page to get to where you can manage your reservations. I can never find it, it’s buried from the home page. (2) can you proactively send notifications to people when their ‘favorite’ resorts add or change reservation requirements? You know which resorts are my favorites. You know when reservation requirement changes are made by resorts. Doesn’t do muchThe only useful function I’ve gotten from this app is being able to see how many “Days Scanned” I’ve used and at which resorts. I’ve never been able to figure out how to activate daily run tracking, no “Tracking” button shows up even when I use the app at an Ikon resort. I am reading in reviews that the app has to be deleted and re-downloaded. So far the app reports zero activity, zero vertical feet despite 7 days of skiing at Ikon resorts. The IKON App Is AwfulThis is my first year on IKON. On my first day I thought the IKON app was better than EPIC because it was GPS driven. However, one day I skied for five hours and for some reason it stopped tracking 2.5 hours into the day. It was weird because at the end of the day I had to push the button to stop tracking, but then looking at the stats it only had a partial day. Today I started skiing at Alta then went to the Snowbird side and none of the Snowboard data was recorded. It started tracking again when I went back to Alta to go to my car. There should have been something to indicate that I would have to stop tracking at Alta, start at Snowbird, then stop Snowbird and start at Alta. Ridiculous!!!! Finally, the app only shows the recent day stats instead of allowing me to scroll back to prior days to review where I had skied. HorribleBeen using a tracker for years . Although there are some great features such as seeing the others you can invite in , the tracking is completely inaccurate and the app shuts off randomly missing runs . Very strange , tracks then doesn’t . Even lost a whole day even though right before I shut it off the day was there . HorribleI've been a long-term Ikon pass holder purchasing the pass every year it has existed. The last few years I've made an early purchase for the renewal, which I did again this April through the app. For some reason, they see the transaction, but no dollar amount or pass in my account, and they are also saying it's too late to get a pass this year. App is useless for using Ikon passReservations are required for Ikon pass resorts. The app does not have any option for making a reservation (or parking reservation) - except to open a window for the webpage. The webpage does not work - it simply requires sign in over and over in a loop. Why have an app where the required process to use the Ikon Pass isn’t available? A saved webpage works (and saves passwords), so this app has no functionality for the most basic need for Ikon pass holders. Please allow reservations on the app - preferably it should be the first option. Instead there are four steps to open a webpage (that doesn’t function), that requires entering a password even when I’m logged into the app. The app is straight up useless garbage for making reservations - and I hate Ikon for making it so difficult to make reservations. Why do you have to “start tracking”?This app is well done but I cannot understand why you have to hit “track” for days to properly log with WiFi enabled. At my resort, I don’t have service, there is no WiFi and this throws all of my stats off. My epic pass has every lap I’ve taken since 2010 logged without me having to track anything. Unable to track all statsLove that IKON got its own app, but so far have been disappointed in its functionality. I’ve used the EpicMix app for years and have never had issues with it showing the vertical feet, lifts, etc. and so far I have been skiing 6 times at 4 different Colorado resorts with IKON. The only information it has show is my total days and destinations, no other stats load. I’ve made sure location services and data is on, still no difference. I can’t believe this app has such high ratingI have had problems with both the IKON app and their website since Alterra acquired a ski resort where I and my family has been skiing since forever. The latest development was that after downloading and installing a new version (22/23 season) I can’t login into the app at all. It just doesn’t open the keyboard for me to enter my e-mail/password. App never worksIn past seasons the app worked most of the time, but occasionally it would stop recording a session. Good features, terrible performanceI really like this app when it works. Being able to track your day along with your friends is great, but most of the time now when I open the app at a resort it doesn’t work at all. Too much $ for services rendered at Mt TremblantToo many people on the same lift lines. You need another chair for the Nansen and a new lift for the Edge . Blowing snow constantly during the day , ruining the’’visibility and forcing people to clear areas for skiing and creating a huge congestion. Blow snow at night, create intermediate skiing experience on the Nansen and eliminate multiple interference on the TGV accessible ski runs with people with small children . Relieving congestion and improving safety . As it stands I have been a season pass holder for the last 26 years and I will be cutting my attendance this year since I am fed up with what’s been going on . If Tremblant continues without investment for two new lifts and continues to blow snow during the day , I predict the Mountain will continue to live off its past reputation for a short term and the clients that recently frequented the mountain will only be a ONE OFF visit and once the people go elsewhere they won’t be back . Another small suggestion would be to install a magic carpet on the North side. As it stands most families are now skiing at Mt Blanc with small children due to access issues and connivence . My daughters family has recently enrolled and they love it at Mt Blanc for the small family experience and also when they do get to ski they do 5x more runs there that you will ever get at the TGV and Lowell Thomas at Tremblant . Although the mountain top of Tremblant is not much larger it’s not worth the wait times and congestion on the hill . This year we will be opting for the Tonik pass only and purchasing a season pass at Mt Blanc to avoid all the congestion and visibility issues with the snow making during the day . This is possibly the last year at Tremblant if things don’t change . Not for me but the price of a day ticket verses the skiing experience for visitors, I truly feel sorry for them and if it were me I wouldn’t be back . Meh, bring back speedThe app was fun to use to understand different things like speed and conditions. They removed speed tracking for no reason and deleted your historical data. Doesn’t really do anythingVery disappointed. App seems to only tally the days of skiing at Ikon resorts. The Slopes app generates much more interesting data. -maps runs, calculates time in lift and time skiing. Ikon should look into acquiring it. Ikon Pass Has Lost Its ValueWhen it first came the pass was worth the money! I loved it! I skied all season at Blue Mountain and used it for trips out west and to VT.
