Rapid reply to question & app works great!

I’m so lucky to have 4 rivers within a 10-30 minute shuttle! They’re small but beautiful, and my friends and I paddle them as often as possible. The smallest one is rain-sensitive and another is dam-controlled, so I always check their USGS gauge levels before setting out, to get an idea of how long our trip will be. When I got this app, I was disappointed bc I couldn’t see these small local gauges, and I emailed support that I might want a refund. THEN they pointed out the filter buttons to turn on to see more gauges, and there they were! Thanks from this 69 yo grandmom for saving me time when I’m ready to paddle!

Exceeded expectations

I was pleasantly surprised by this simple yet robust app. Very clean and easy to use. Easily allows me to monitor River levels and send myself push notifications regarding different flood stages. Smart design and very responsive developer who emailed me back within minutes of asking a question. Ad free and bug free. Get this one.

Chi Guy2Version: 1.1.9
Very nice, as far as it goes

This is a nice app, one of the better ones as far as data is concerned. However, it lacks in two areas. 1. It needs the option to reorder your list of gauges, or it should at least keep the gauges on the same river together. 2. It would be nice if it also had a widget for those of us who keep a closer eye on water levels.

Napping bearVersion: 1.1.12
Great app!

I love it. It’s a lot easier to just tap and see what the local river levels are that have to go to the USGS website. I do have a request though, would it be possible for the 24 hour level changes to be listed on first page with the current level? That would be great for deciding when to go fish. Thanks!

NotmyweatherVersion: 1.1.2
Amazingly accurate

Do you want to keep track of the water level where you want to go kayaking or maybe where you have your camper parked this is the app for you no nonsense straightforward no pop-ups simply tap the location you have selected and you will have the information instantly

Overall a pretty useful tool for fishing

I know it's a work in progress and am pretty happy so far. My only suggestion is making it more obvious where to change the units from kcfs to cfs. I had a hard time finding it and almost gave up.

Jstew96Version: 1.1.9
Great app for river levels

Every kayaker should have this app. If you often find yourself checking the levels and water temps at your favorite gauges, this app puts the info (including flow predictions) at your fingertips. The developers are also amazingly responsive.

PGE-AppleNicknameVersion: 1.1.8
Tommy Likey, Tommy want Kayakey

Easy to use and awesome up to date info regarding water level, and flow. One suggestion for the app designer. Possibly offer a feature where you can map out and track your travel distance on the water. Excellent app!!!

FeyBerryVersion: 1.1.2
5th star pending

App is great so far. Have not hit a limit on favorites, no requests to pay, no ads(?). One star holdback until we get USGS flow data for AHPS gauges - today if the gauge is AHPS it won’t pull the USGS flow charts, but does give instantaneous flow value. (Black on black review text box - Ugh. Thinking about holding back another for the clear attempt by somebody to stifle comments.)

AttendeeXVersion: 1.1.2
Great for barge traffic

As a towboat captain this is the app weve been looking for. Has gauges with current NOAA links/applicable stages for any river. Upper/Lower/Illinois/Ohio etc. The only recommendation I’d have would be linking it with historic gauges/having a tab for that. Super useful and easy to use, 5 stars for sure

Jeremiah517Version: 1.1.10
Easy Setup

I’ve used this site on my computer for years and finally decided to look for it in ap form. This was very easy to set up. Easy to use. I already know it’s a great way to track river levels.

HD GmaVersion: 1.1.5
All you need, nothing you don’t.

I use this at work and find it to be an excellent source of information. They even have the smaller systems that are omitted from other apps.

Rudolf RedrickVersion: 1.6
So far so good

This looks great. As a police officer in an obviously (from the past two summers) flood prone area, this app is going to be very helpful. I look forward to using this app. Great UI, and love the push notification option!

ClayphaceVersion: 1.0.5
Very informative app.

Well written app that is ad free. Can’t ask for better than this. Love the notification option, not seen in a paid app that I have for river forecast and data.

Allen LiebermanVersion: 1.0.5
Awesome App

This app is great and much easier than navigating through the USGS website (even though the new website is pretty great). However this app could be just as great if not better if it had the mean and median flows listed on the AHPS graphs..

TimBenderVersion: 1.1.9
Great App

Not only do you get current river flow but now river temperature has been added to the bottom of the page which is very helpful to fishermen.

Baja PescaderoVersion: 1.1.7
Perfect!

Makes life a lot easier and quicker to save stations to get instant results. Thank you.

DiscordiumVersion: 1.1.4
Excellent

Great app. Clean. Easy to navigate. Push notifications are handy. Will definitely be using this app as my primary source for taking the boats out

Space__BiscuitVersion: 1.0.6
Landscape mode for iPads!

Nice app overall and it does support landscape mode for iPads sitting in a keyboard! I recommend this app.

Whittier Weather ServiceVersion: 1.5
Excellent App!

Really very cool. I am able to view river levels galore. Since I started walking 6 miles a day I have become fascinated with rivers and flood levels. Very cool!

Magically it appeared without my downloading it. I’ll let you know how it shakes out though.

Does exactly as described. Very intuitive, excellent in-app directions to guide you through setup, nice interface as well.

Adam MungerVersion: 1.0.5
Fantastic

I am a river guide and back country first responder. This app keeps me well Informed of the water levels on several rivers as well as their tributaries.

BrentafordVersion: 1.1.1

Alert customization needed

Cool, simple app. It'd be amazing to have the option to customize alert thresholds

PeyotlzVersion: 1.4
Simply The Best 👍🏻

This is the best River Gauge application on the AppStore, hands down. We have tried all of them and come to this conclusion. Not only this, but the app is completely free. Not even an IAP. They layout is superb and the data it gives is incredibly useful. Well done, what a fantastic app! Easy 5⭐️

SlimothyTVVersion: 1.1.5

River Levels & Flows Negative Reviews and Ratings

Not great for fishing

Wish it had USGS flow charts instead of noaa charts (or at least the option to chose between them). NOAA charts don’t scale the y axis (flow in cfs) to the current levels so it’s hard to visually see if a river is rising or dropping. Some rivers show flow charts but most show gauge height instead which is far less useful in my opinion. River notification feature is lacking, it would be nice if you could set a notification when a river enters a particular flow range. Overall good interface but it lacks the features that are actually useful

KjvxhnVersion: 1.1.9
Worthless

Rarely ever accurate when compared to real time gages on the usgs website. I’m currently looking at West Branch of the Delaware at Stilesville,NY and the USGS website says 540 cfs while this app says .83kcfs which is the equivalent of 830cfs and means this app is off by almost 300 cfs. How can you be this far off ? Worthless app that I can’t believe I’ve wasted money on. And now I’m looking at the East Branch of the Delaware at Harvard in NY and you’re off by over 200cfs when compared to the USGS website! THIS APP IS GARBAGE AND TOTALLY UNRELIABLE FOR REAL-TIME STREAM FLOW. I highly recommend spending the extra money and buying Rivercast app instead which is what I did and couldn’t be happier!

IDavex2Version: 1.1.10
Pretty good. Needs a few things.

Wish you had option to toggle the graphs between cfs and feet like you can on website. Not really understanding the sort function in the favorites tab. Can’t seem to sort by stream name.

FishshockerVersion: 1.4
Too complex if you just want basic data

The information I’m sure is amazing, but the app is ridiculously complex and requires the knowledge of the developer! There should be a cheat sheet/cliff notes on how to get started if you just want basic information in your area.

MEM19271924MDVersion: 1.5
Lost All My Saved Gauges

I was very happy with this app until today when I tried to check some levels. All but one of my saved gauges were gone, including the most important one. I sent an email to the developer but haven’t heard back yet. The app is essentially useless to me if this doesn’t get fixed.

KrackaShabazzVersion: 1.1.11
New to this info

It seems like great info and I am sure a seasoned person would find it more than helpful. I have no way of knowing what normal levels are for the gauges do to determine where it is makes it difficult. Mainly used for kayaking local creek.

Mike47933Version: 1.1.2
Useless

River levels are not updated regularly or inaccurate for the Oswego River. I also wish that you could interact with the graph as well as change the timeline to account for more days, and have averages for time of year for Rivers. App could use much improvements and is definitely not worth $2.99.

MangyMaxVersion: 1.1.9
Web page is Better

I naught it thinking this would be a quicker way to catch current river flows but the data seems to be lagging the USGS website by a few hours and the graph is NOAA rather than USGS. Deleting after 5 min of trying it.

MniMud1Version: 1.2
Gauges have disappeared

I have only had this app on my phone for 24 hours and the single river gauge I need to see and have saved has completely disappeared and will not come up to even see anymore.

JJoyslinVersion: 1.3
Waste of money for me’

The app did not have data for the ONE location that I bought it for! Useless for me. Would have given 1 star but I’m holding out there’s a chance that they will add the location I need!

TanniDogVersion: 1.3
Not Performing as Advertised

The app only displays NOAA hydrograph for my local gages. Does not display forecasts for stage, flow, or volume. Does not display data history for stage or flow on any of my local rivers. The subtitle for the app says “USGS River Level and Flows” but I’m not getting any data from USGS for my local gages. I regret spending money on this app.

Human_zsVersion: 1.7
Doesn’t allow you to choose sites that are there

Payed for it and there’s not even an option to add usgs river sites that I know are there. You can google search them and find them but they are not available to add on the app

Waterop9193Version: 1.1.9
Lack of information

The app doesn’t allow the user to graph data beyond 7 days. No option to see rain gauge data or water turbidity.

Trout tactics 365Version: 1.6
Not enough gauges

The site itself is well laid out, but lacking several gauges I would think would be there. I can’t really use the app until they add a significant amount more gauges.

BumhappeningsVersion: 1.1.10
Don’t waste your money!

It doesn’t have any more gauges than the free ones. And you buy it, check to see if the river you are after is on.. it’s not and you are out 3 bucks.

SuzyreviewsVersion: 1.1.12
Please fix

In order to pay for an app it needs to have all the gauge stations, I need “ Lake Pelba” and Lake Dautrieve or lake Fosse point that is the main ones I look at everyday

KajundaveVersion: 1.4
Not good

I wanted to be able to quickly access USGS flow rates. This app has some of them but is missing a lot of them so I still have to go to the USGS website. Waste of money.
