Inventory, tracking, & DraftsIt is sooo frustrating when I’m trying to do inventory and I cannot find a piece! It is a bracelet for example and I search more in depth Pearl Bracelet nope nothing. Sometimes I don’t even see it in all the bracelets?? So I go back out go to my full shop and have to go through all the pages to find it!! Then I go into the listing and make sure I have it in the right section & IT IS!!! This is super frustrating & an inventory nightmare!!
My next frustration is tracking. I cannot believe Etsy has not come up with a way for us to put into the “tracking info” a number when selling in person??? I was just using a tracking number that was already used and it worked for years. But now I cannot do that and my rating for shipping has gone down. When the customer not only got the piece earlier than if it was shipped, then left me a 5 star review and wonderful message in my shop!!!
My last complaint is WHY did they change (Create Draft)when I am putting in a new piece of inventory into my shop I have to completely finish all fields of the description!!!! I cannot start it then save it as a draft??? Why even have this option if you have to finish it?? App and communicationThe app works fine although you need to contact Etsy sellers early like I got asked about why several deliveries were late and you didn’t ask me before. I explained everything to my clients that they were shortage of Materials at one point and the other one was weather conditions because my studio has not been built yet so I work outside and it was hard to work during the summer during that time when it was raining, I explained it to all of my clients and they all understood and they’re all happy look at the reviews first. The other one is I used to like it when you guys were available by phone. I could take care of things and make things understood. I had many questions that I’ve sent and we’re never answered so the communication real time with Etsy people and you guys is no good. You guys don’t call back I’ve called. I’ve contacted you at least three times in the past with no response at all. You need to fix that going old school and being available to the people is a lot better than a robot response. We have no choiceI started my online retail through Etsy just over four years ago. I had gotten so used to reviewing previous year stats and year over year stats. The new app doesn’t come close in this regard. I also had gotten in the habit of messaging my clients a personal message asking for their support by leaving a review when they have had time to really evaluate their experience and purchase. When reviewing completed orders, you could see whether there was review posted. This feature is no longer available. Messaging is a lot slower, the old messaging was better overall and I could easily grab a note from my notepad and paste it now requires a permission prompt about every other time. I would do this my down time so not on a schedule, now it’s too complicated of a task so I probably will have to just do it less often. When the app was announced I waited a little while then downloaded and used them both for a bit. The old app seemed to be “quicker”. There would be times when my old app would notify me of a sale and the new app I would have to click AND reload the orders. I hope someone from Etsy will work on implementing some of the frustrations voice in these comments. To put some context in my usage of Etsy. My store rating is 4.9 with 511 reviews, bout 22 percent of sales.

The old one was betterI really wanted to like this but there are so many features that are missing or only half function. For example, I can barely find my own listings - sometimes I will type something like “necklace” trying to locate an existing listing to share with a customer or on social (or trying to copy an old listing) and it will tell me there are no listings at all with that term in them when there are dozens of necklaces in my shop. This happens with several different terms, making it difficult to locate most items from my vast inventory. I also don’t see anywhere to rearrange my shop listings either, which I love to do on the go as this function eventually malfunctions when editing it on a pc or laptop. Having to renew expired listings individually, one by one (and not being able to easily tell that I have expired listings from my dashboard) is a minor inconvenience that makes renewing listings a task for the computer now. I also wish I could search “all” of my current and previous inventory in one category instead of only being able to search my active, expired, sold categories one at a time. One positive thing is I like being able to see who is a repeat customer. I wish I could easily pull up their past orders though. I also like the option to add content via “Explore”. DeceptionThe app works very well, but working with the Etsy Platform is been devotion after deception, I opened my shop in 2020, I sale live plants and at the begging g everything seemed was working perfectly, lots of sales, and lots and lots of hidden fees they would charge but the good sales was compensating for it. Lately they have even more hidden fees, even when I’m not paying for off site adds, they find a way to charge me for off site adds. Not only that but they have been so neglecting with us the sellers, when a customer submit a claim they don’t even take the tame to make an investigation and they do a full refund form my account, having or not having the money, they go steal the money form your bank account. Is so deceitful because I work hard to send quality items and some times is the carriers fault if an item arrives damaged and they don’t care they charge the seller the full amount and give it back to the customer with out investigation.2TonePlantsVersion: 1.99
Etsy mostly greatEtsy is like having a team to assist me with my business. They handle marketing, technology, Taxes and tracking statistics. The fees for all of that are reasonable, in my opinion. I have run businesses on my own and all of the above things are very expensive and time-consuming. So I love the Etsy platform for those reasons.
There are a few things that make selling on Etsy difficult. I do not like being obligated in certain programs in order to be seen or to even operate on the Etsy platform. The offsite ads should not be a forced program. We should also be able to choose which of our listings are promoted through the program if we choose to participate. Google is taking 12% of my sales on ads google created ads clicked on Facebook, Pinterest and Google, in addition to many other places that I don't even know about apparently. This applies to people that are already my customers quite often. It applies to anything they purchase 30 days AFTER they click into my shop. This has become quite expensive, and reduces my profit margin considerably.
The other program that I think needs tweaking is the free shipping program. Though it is optional to participate, the minimum amount of $35 is entirely too low. It should be $60. I say this because tariffs are now in play, shipping prices have gone up, cost of goods have gone up, and now Google is attached to many of my sales. Though the free shipping platform is considered optional, if you do not participate, you are less likely to be seen on Etsy. This makes it more necessary than optional to participate.
If not for these two considerations, I would be extremely happy on Etsy. But because of these two things I am being forced to consider selling through my own website, which is a daunting consideration..CatransloVersion: 1.117
Customer Service is NOT user friendlyI have been trying to figure out why my shop was suspended due to information they said needed corrected but was already correct, and the forms gave me error messages every time I tried to submit them, even though the info on them is the exact same as they have on file. I FINALY got through on their chat system (which is also impossible to find a direct link to), and was connected to Andrea. She told me she would get me connected to the correct department, then she left the chat, someone else joined, and then it kicked me off. I went through the same steps to connect to chat again, however this time it would only let me send a message that would be answered in 1-2 days. Started from zero now I’m making sales each week. Still growingStarted from zero everything in June 2022 now I’m at 23k views feb 2025. Haven’t made game changer money but I’ve gotten great exposure for my brand using Etsy. I sell stickers so it’s my problem to deal with how I do. I think others who want to start a business but don’t know which platform to try, Etsy is a good start to get a jist of things. It trains you to become better in ways you wouldn’t imagine such as creating your product and focusing on the common problems in your reviews to increase quality/ overall product. It shapes you in a way to act more professional and it’s exciting sometimes especially when you have many sales! Few things before it’s fully optimizedI love the seller app so far as it certainly streamlines the selling process. If I had to nitpick a few things I would prefer it could do by itself would be auto generate 4x6 labels that can print direct from iPhones for Apple AirPrint. Regardless of the Etsy label settings being set to 4x6 it will always generate through iPhone as a 4x6 label at the bottom corner of a 8.5x11 sheet so many users with standard label printers either need to crop labels before printing or have an expensive enough printer that maybe could auto recognize and crop for you. Outside of that quirk I’d love to see fixed it generally gets the job done in all other aspects and I particularly like the new AI response generator based on prior responses given. If I can save time writing a paragraph to a customer asking a redundant and commonly asked question is all the better! New app is good!!There are lots of negative reviews on the new Etsy seller app. I was reluctant to get it because I hate change in general but honestly it’s pretty cool. The layout is a lot more sleek and modern than the old “Sell on Etsy” app. There is an option to ‘copy’ a preexisting listing and make necessary edits (very helpful tool if listing multiple items that are similar but have a few different details and/or need different photos). You can now post public replies to you reviews which is a very nice feature that was not previously available. The only thing I don’t like is this new app doesn’t have the ‘Sell with Square’ tab which I actually used for craft fairs. Also the Etsy transaction fees are getting kind of insane but I guess that doesn’t have to do with app directly. Frustrating, for now.I’ve been using this app for a few months now and it has its ups and downs. I’m not sure what the point is in making an entire new seller app instead of updating the old one, but I’m giving it a chance.
Starting with the pros:
The app’s UI is quite nice; Simple, visually appealing, easy to navigate. It runs smoothly, everything loads faster than the original app and the web version. The original app was a detailed learning curve, but it’s manageable with experience - This one is easy to pick up in only a few days.
Cons:
The problems lie mainly in its lack of features. It has the basics, but I often run into roadblocks while listing items and find myself just giving up and opening the web version in the end anyway. I also have to open the website to edit any shop settings.
The private messages are also weird. When I try to go back and fix typos, the text box jumps around and the cursor just ends up somewhere random in the text, not at all where I tried to click. Talking to my customers is a huge pain because of this.
Conclusion:
So far, the app is really only useful for quick on-the-go checkups on your shop, not entirely running it. It has potential, but desperately needs the complete features of the website’s shop manager and a fix for the private message problems.

Decent, but annoying bugs and missing featuresI’ve been using the app for awhile now and keep hoping for some basic bug fixes: When you go to create a sale, anything that triggers the keyboard to appear removes the “next” button. You can somewhat workaround it, but have to close the sale window each time and that causes the discount input to revert. So for percent off sales, you can literally only do a 25 off sale through the app. And it takes several close > run sale taps if you search for specific items to add to the sale. Simple bug that should’ve been fixed months ago.
Other basic features that the app doesn’t support but should is:
1. Ability to view spam messages - legit potential customers constantly marked as spam but can’t be viewed via app.
2. Can’t do refunds via app for some reason, which is annoying having to do it via mobile browser, which tries to get you to use the app..
3. Can’t create new product groups for some reason
4. Printing labels to thermal printers needs better instructions/support
5. Broadened notification capabilities - would be nice to get notifications for orders needing shipped TODAY, unread message reminder before 24/48hr window passes, scheduled sale start/end notification

Ruined the Holiday Season this yearHORRIBLE! This app has been awful, but what has happened during the busiest time of the year for me this year is probably the worst thing that could happen with an app. I was behind like I’ve never been before, losing money somehow, upset customers, it’s been awful. Anyway, come to find out, duplicate orders were showing up in my order log. Not only were they duplicate, but a different icon pic beside the order (if the order had more than one item) was showing beside each one, making it look like different orders in my log. I’m a one person shop, I don’t always open every individual order and read the name and address when I’m checking to see what needs made. I noticed back in Oct I had two order for the same person of the exact two same items- I reached out no response. I sent the two orders. I’ve only come to really notice this when I’m typing in a specific customer to check the status of their order. In the actual log, they aren’t showing up back to back like they would when I just type in the name. Customer service was zero help, told me to delete it, reinstall and just use the internet to check things. The damage has been done, I’ve lost so much money this year and who knows how many customers or even poor reviews. I’ve done everything I can to make it up to everyone but it’s been a nightmare for me. I’m finally going to make the switch to a different platform. If it’s not broken don’t fix it.You’d think with the creation of an entire new selling app & all the updates this app gets that it would be gold, sadly thats not the case. It’s so frustrating when the updates constantly make things worse for sellers, the ones who are making this company so much profit! It’s always a gamble whether or not an update will finally make things better or just cause you another issue. At the very least saving a draft and uploading photos should never be an issue, the amount of bugs there have been with this throughout my 4+ years of selling is just crazy. Inaccurate, redundant, shall i go on?I really don’t understand the point of adding this app.. there’s a sliver of things that i can do easily on it that are maybe harder to find, or not features on the other app, but then just add it!! or make it easier to find!! redesign the old app or something, because they’re way way too similar to be two different things. im also noticing that on every page, & between the apps, there’s completely different numbers relating to my views, visits, link clicks, etc. i have no CLUE what’s going on in my shop at any given moment because everywhere i look, i’m being told something different. i usually look at the line graph because it seems to be the most accurate, but even then, it’s not updated consistently. maybe that’s the problem between all of them, that they update at different times, but all i know is i won’t know what my numbers look like until the next day most likely, then i can see what happened. once again though, even THEN sometimes the chart is lower than another number so i don’t know which to believe!!!! im really annoyed with that, mostly. any other minor bugs are sugar ants compared to the hornet of nothing being clear & accurate. also, once again, just take this app off the market. make the changes you want to make to the old app, add new features, whatever. im keeping them both for now to get a general consensus of what my numbers MIGHT look like, but seriously, do better etsy.HaleyroseuVersion: 1.22
I tried to like it for several weeksI ended up deleting it and going back to the old app. I was not getting notifications of sales and messages, and yes, notifications were turned on. Because of this I was late shipping two orders, had to upgrade one of those orders to the more expensive priority mail, and lost my star seller status for that month, not to mention the risk of getting bad reviews. I then reinstalled the old app, but at the same time kept the new app as a comparison test. I had three sales, yet the red notification circle on the new app face only showed “2” while the old app sitting right next to it on my home screen showed the correct “3”. I completely lost faith in the new app. Those issues were enough, but I also found the new app to be not as streamlined/user friendly as the old app. I found I had to spend too much time searching around for info, such as my completed sales. It was so hidden I started to think the info wasn’t available in the app. I want an app that is completely reliable, and has all the information I need right at my fingertips. I shouldn’t have to search around to find it and then have to remember how to get back to it next time. It seems like this app was released too soon before it had been tested thoroughly. If their eventual goal is to take away the old app to force us to use the new one, I won’t use any app at all. I’d rather go back to using the website. The original Sell On Etsy app is betterI’ve been using the original Sell On Etsy app, which I think is useful and generally great. So when I heard that this Etsy Seller app is supposed to be even better, I downloaded it right away. Once I started using it though, I found I'm better off sticking to the original Sell On Etsy app. This new Etsy Seller app has a lot of the same things but with a different interface, so that’s just unnecessary and a little confusing. Additionally, as I’m using both apps, I found that there is a lag in notifications. The original app notifies me right away if there’s a sale, but this app takes a few hours. Sometimes it doesn’t even notify me at all. Big problem!
I’m also reading that this app is supposed to make it easier to do your shipping on mobile, but since I always do shipping on a desktop (see why below), this is not enough of a draw for me against the duplicative functions and notification bugs. Hopefully, Etsy will consider the feedback and make it better. Or at least keep maintaining the far more useful Sell On Etsy app.
Side note on why I won’t use shipping on mobile: some of my listings have titles that contain characters in Japanese, which are totally fine in the store interface. When Etsy compiles that info into a receipt pdf, the characters become rectangles. The font they’re using doesn’t support non-Latin characters at all. I’ve talked to customer service and searched the handbook and browsed through forums. There is no solution except to reformat those PDFs manually — on a computer. Horrible platformI bought several pngs from a business on Etsy that I used to make shirts with and sell on Etsy but every time I go to post it it automatically gets deleted I don’t understand how this is fair for one seller to sell LV printsBut as soon as I go to posted it they automatically remove it. I have reached out to Ashley multiple times about how I bought it from another Etsy seller but they don’t care at all. Bad business if you ask me but🤗they also have horrible customer service they don’t even understand anything that you’re saying. Bring back the old app! Listen to us!I’ve been using the new app since they forced us to use it solely over the old app. It’s terrible and Etsy is NOT listening to us sellers. What is going on with the thumbnail photos? No matter how much I edit and properly align my photos (on the app or even online), my thumbnail for my main photo listing is always wrong and blown up to where you can’t even see my full product. I use the “adjust my thumbnail” function. Also, when I’m creating a new listing it constantly freezes up while I’m doing the description and then I have to start all over which makes me SO mad! I’ve learned I have to go into my notepad on my phone and type the description there then copy and paste into the app. Nothing loads correctly so I’m constantly going out of the app, closing that window to “refresh”, then going back into the app. Every day it tells me how many views and visits. I can check it at 11:59pm at night then check it the next day with the yesterday tab and it’s vastly different. Are you telling me I received 150 visits in one minute Etsy when you said I only received 60 for the entire day? I sell internationally and can only create international labels through the online site. Why can I create US labels through the app but not international labels?

EtsyEtsy I seriously haven't been able to list anything new in my app for over 2 weeks!!! The app doesn’t let us upload pictures. How do you have a selling app that won’t upload or let you take photos!!! The browser is so frustrating to use on a phone and now you boxed us out with a moronic app! Hate this app! Everything’s organized backwards have used the other app for over 14 years. I am quick to adapt, but can’t get to anything! Organized in an awful way and can’t see my items. Why would I ever want to see my items in alphabetical order and that’s the main way it’s listed??? And I can’t see them In the order I listed them… this app is the WORST. Nothing comes up that I’m trying to find. Items are smaller. Still can’t adjust shipping options right. Shipping options don’t even show the price until you save it to the listing??? Orders are hard to find because disorganized, my orders are organized by what needs to ship out soonest instead of who purchased first.. Please keep the other app working I won’t be able to keep my customers happy and can’t list as easy! It’s taking me 100x as long to list anything on this worthless app. The only glitch on the old app was if you moved too fast while listing you would lose your work and wouldn’t save a draft. The app doesn’t workLogin Paige will not load. I have left three feedback for this three times now. I have never been able to log into the app on this iPad. My iPad is up-to-date as always. I initially tried back in January when I first got the tablet. The same thing happens that happened back then. The blue page comes up no problem then I have three options for ways to login. I click login. Because I’ve never logged in with Facebook or Apple so I click the top option and it opens a black page with a spinning circle in the center and never does the login page load. It spins forever. I have tried restarting. I have tried updating. I have updated it multiple times hoping that the updates fixed the problem they never have. I am currently up-to-date on my operating system. I am up-to-date on the app. I am still on able to login. I tried deleting the entire app And reinstalling a clean version. Same problem. I have tried doing a soft reset. It did nothing. I even tried completely wiping the entire tablet and starting from scratch. I am still unable to login. Is anybody going to fix this? Abandoned by EtsyOld app was fine. This one is trash. Bugs, missing simple features like Shop Sections when creating new listings. You can only create a new shop section. That’s been that way, left half done and broken for almost a year now. It’s embarrassing. No support on call, don’t think anybody actually works at Etsy. Also, guess what? You all of those followers you gained over the years? They don’t get any notifications that your shop even has new inventory. Etsy turned that feature off forever ago. Why follow a shop if Etsy wont alert them of all your new items. 100 new unique items and Etsy pushed out a notification of only a few, one week later. The sellers handbook is not up to date. It’s like the company closed but accidentally left their app online. Totally abandoned. Had a nice 7 year run on Etsy but this app, specifically the muting of Shop Updates (yes we follow our own shops so we know this got muted around last year) with no answers from them truly is the end I think. Faults on the old app are carried over onto this oneEtsy wants to act like they are a website that enables people to run their businesses in a serious way, giving them all the analytical tools they need to manage every aspect of their businesses efficiently and effectively. But the most fundamental data Etsy provides— your total sales— is completely unreliable.
The dashboard and stats are ALWAYS wrong. When you log in you will be given one total; when you refresh, you are often given a completely different total that is obviously wrong. I logged in yesterday and both areas of the website showed that I had $54 in sales for the month (January 9th). I reset the parameters to YTD and got the same $54. Then I changed the parameters to ‘yesterday’ and saw that I had gotten over $1,000 in sales just that day alone. These figures are irreconcilable. If you go to your stats page and look at the last week, it might show you several days without any sales despite the fact that you’ve gotten sales on most of those days. It’s very frustrating to try to run a business: to decide how much to advertise, to decide whether it’s a good time to restock your materials, to plan your social media posts, etc., when you don’t have a good real-time idea of how well you are doing.
This has been a problem on Etsy for years. I’ve complained about it in their forums, and in an extensive email to one of their customer service people, but it never gets fixed. It’s the most basic information you need to run a business and it’s almost as if Etsy hides it from you. They have never made fixing this a priority. Can’t tell what date listings expireThere was nothing wrong with the old app. I could find what I needed easily. There is no real added value /improved functionality of this so-called new and improved app. But there are many things that I can’t find or that are missing totally or that don’t work well. For instance, I can’t see anywhere on a listing the actual date when it when it expires. I can sort by expiration date, soonest or latest. But I can’t see the actual expiration date. So when I go renew listings, I have to do that from my home computer instead of my phone now. Like the so-called improvements on the Etsy that I use on my laptop, the new improved smartphone version is actually clunkier with more things to wade through. And there is a long lag time between clicking on something and when it pulls up, unlike on the old app where things pulled up instantaneously. I don’t know why Etsy keeps changing things to keep Etsy sellers confused and wasting time trying to get things to work or trying to find things that used to exist on the old app, rather than just updating and fixing the existing app. The functionality isn’t there. ByeI now hate Etsy with everything they done there driving there sellers away for the new scanner method and there new policies they put they remove your listing for one word you put on the listing even on the description totally unbelievable. Frustrating.I’m so frustrated that this is supposed to be the “new” app but I find myself having to go back and forth between this one and the old version every single day. It wastes a lot of my time and renders this new app moot. If you’re going to upgrade the app to a new one, please make sure you bring over all of the old app features and then ADD to them on the new app. Don’t take things away and make it confusing the way that it is. The new annoying thing that’s happening is I keep getting signed out whenever someone favorites an item and the notification comes through- I have to sign back in and I use two factor so it’s tedious and annoying. Really beginning to hate selling on EtsyThe Etsy seller experience has declined significantly over the past year. I sell natural cosmetic products and apparently Etsy changes it’s terms and conditions regularly and rather than communicating with sellers to notify them that their existing products violate the NEW terms, they simply remove your products from your shop. Keep in mind, the terms and conditions are generic and riddled with jargon and legalese. And this is coming from someone with a PhD. So you never really know how your product description or details violate the terms, just that they do. I’ve contacted support to inquire about how my descriptions are in violation so that I can amend it only to be told that they can’t tell me specifically. I went from 4 products listed, to 3, and then this morning found that they’d removed every item from my shop. I literally cried. Like what kind of practice is this? It’s so unprofessional. App malfunctioning for months and affecting my salesFor the past couple months I have been trying to upload photos to my listings and have had problems non stop. I was able to get maybe 8 listings done before the past couple months, but i have a slew of draft listings just waiting for photos. App wont let me upload photos so for the busiest sales time of the year I havent been able to make my listings. I contacted etsy support and they said its my problem and they have no issues with their tech 🤥. I tried uploading photos on wifi and cellular, i reset my wifi several times, i took all new photos and made sure they followed all the etsy guidelines (which they were already following but i did it again just to make sure), i tried on phone and desktop computer, i tried taking photos within the app and nothing will upload, even taking photos within the app wont upload! DON’T make us switch to this app.Please don’t remove access to the old Sell on Etsy app. I love the old app as it is and find the new app confusing, not logically organized, and lacking in features. I much prefer the functionality of the old app over the appearance of the new app. These are my top two complaints at this time:
I miss seeing my listings ranked by views on the Listings tab like they are on the Stats tab of the old app. I also miss the ability to choose the time period, “sort by” (views, orders, revenue), and listing type to sort my listings. It is frustrating that the new app is so limited in its sorting features on the listing tab since I rely on these features so often in the old app. With the “expiring soon” and “top selling” buttons, I wish they would at least show all the listings in the rankings rather than just the top ones.
For each individual listing, I miss the graphical representation that the old app showed for views, items sold, and revenue, as well as the graph for orders and revenue (with dollar amounts). The old app also showed a pie chart of traffic sources, several pages of search terms, and a line graph for favorites. The new app has NONE of that. Leaving Etsy!Every day: I wake up to multiple reviewed listings being removed by Etsy! I’ve been selling on Etsy for a very long time: I know how to make a listing. I have things being removed that were there for over a year and have multiple sales and zero prohibited content! Yet the algorithm keeps targeting my products! This is sinking my business and of course there’s no way to actually speak to someone about why your listings are being removed! You can’t even appeal their decision! I pay them a percentage of my sales and I can’t appeal a decision or speak to someone about my shop?! This is giving scammer vibes!
1yr later: DO NOT WASTE YOUR Money with ETSY! They’re only in it for the money and will snatch your business away from you at a moment’s notice. Their policies are not clear, there’s no customer service and they take money in multiples ways from every sale you make. They show favoritism to successful shops, they allow them to break copyright rules because it makes them more money! All they care about is lining their pockets, your business means nothing to them. Just get a Website, it’s cheaper in the long run and you have more control over your shop.

Etsy won’t listenThe app is unusable, takes forever to open and forever and a day to upload pictures if it works at all! It doesn’t matter if it is one picture or ten it takes multiple minutes. Slowing down the listing process will not make Etsy more money. I now have to use my browser. I have the pictures on my phone so I used to upload my pictures then save it as a draft and finish descriptions on my computer. Now with the app it will take 5 minutes to look like it’s loading the pictures then say sorry couldn’t upload contact Etsy support. Which I literally do not have time to sit all day trying to contact them. So back to 5+ years ago when I have to somehow get my pictures to my computer where I can upload them using the web browser. And now they are trying to change that format and so far my testing of that has been similar to the app, it works very infrequently and wastes my time! I guess their goal is to make listing slower therefore fewer sales and lower my profit because now I have many more hours into this process. Etsy needs to try againI hate this app. I dislike it so much that I’m deleting it and going back to just using the browser version. First, if you have any sort of order progress steps set up the app doesn’t count those. I rely on the app to keep track of orders and when they are due. I mistakenly assumed this app would allow me to do that but because I moved two orders to another progress step and took a day off, the app doesn’t even display them. Next, I am unbelievably annoyed with the constant “make a video” nonsense every platform insists on pushing. I have no time to make a video and don’t want to see the same woman on my screen every time I open this app looking like she’s doing something personal… which she’s not… but I am so sick of seeing it. I also dislike that the notifications send me a profile photo of the person who ordered. I don’t need to know what my customer looks like. Just the Etsy logo would make due and be a lot more logical. Needs chart for revenueI like the old app better but unfortunately they have disabled it. This new one doesn’t even have a chart for revenue, which is the most important and exciting aspect of specs/insights, nor does it have last year’s comparison. Those were the two features I used most on the old app. Also, etsy needs to add pay dates so we can choose which specific days of the month to be paid. For instance, to be paid the first of the month or every other Friday, etc. They only have the options for daily, weekly (on Mondays), biweekly (every other Monday), and monthly (the 5th of each month.) Please listen to your customers, Etsy. Also, after 10 years of selling on Etsy, I received a warning that I wouldn’t be paid and my shop would be put in vacation mode if I didn’t provide my phone number. Seems a little extreme, don’t you think?
Also, the message response rate is ridiculous. It’s always saying I didn’t get enough messages responded to within 24 hours, when not all messages require a response. App is awful - bring back old appI never leave reviews but compelled on this. This new app is awful! Technology is supposed to make life easier, not more confusing and having to cavity search the app to find things. Etsy developers may have forgot that their main customer base of sellers are creatives and antique/vintage sellers who live a life like it’s 1962 and have to pull out their Victorian era magnifying glass to view the pictures of their listings thumbnails. The old was Awesome. It was easy to navigate and very intuitive to use. Clunky and USELESSI want to start by saying that I am someone who can adapt to change, especially something as measly as an app. I’ve had BOTH the older version and this app downloaded on my phone for about a YEAR now, and have been trying my very best to use both and get acquainted with the new one. This new app is just awful. NOTHING for me has been made better with this new app. It’s confusing, hard to find the correct data (data also doesn’t update in real time.) I miss being able to open the app and see my views and visits. Also, now I cannot see how many orders a customer has had just by looking in the messages (I offer my customers a rewards program based on how many orders they have placed.) this can now only be done through a browser. Even the new editing tool to add new listings is very limited and I often get a message saying something along the lines of “cannot do that in the app yet.”

A small business intends to grow and this year I have finally reached that growth that allows me, or allowed me the ability to actually survive on my craft. Where the company is withholding 75% of your sales for 90 days. withholding 75% of a small businesses sales will put that small business out of business. They are driving me under and it is breaking my heart. I fully understand the liability aspect. Never Liked This New Blue AppUpdate: Just now I was forced to use the new blue Etsy App. It is totally unusable for me as there is no expiration date on the list of items that are about to expire. Today, an update to the app occurred and I use it to renew my many items that are about to expire manually. I space them out so I don’t have too many to be renewed on one day. Disappointed!If I could give this new app zero stars, I would. I hate everything about this new app and agree with about 100% of what everyone else who left a one star review is saying. Send refunds with no explanationBeen using Etsy for awhile and I used to love it. However, lately that has changed. I had a buyer complain that the sweatshirt I sold him was measured incorrectly and he wanted to return the item, which would’ve been fine if that was true but the buyer thought my “length” measurement was for the sleeve. So, after I explained to him that the length measurement is for the full length on the sweatshirt from neck to bottom, he of course get upset and said he’d open a case. I wake up the next day to see that he has been refunded out of my balance (and they let him keep the item), I go to my emails and see he opened a case at 8:22pm. The case was closed the next morning at 11:15am before I ever even saw it. I contacted support about 5 different times asking why this happened and if they could reverse it. They just say I violated Etsy policy then stop answering but they won’t tell me how I violated the policy. Anyways I told them if this case doesn’t get reversed or I at least get my item back I’ll be selling elsewhere, they basically said 🤷♂️. Messaging Buyers Without PermissionI really don’t like the feature that messages buyers that an order has been shipped. Sometimes I like printing labels ahead of time for my made to order items because my family’s printer only connects to my phone and my husband often packages the orders. I didn’t realize Etsy would notify the buyer that I shipped the order when I am NOT ready to ship it yet. No where did it say it would notify them once I bought the label.
Additionally, I sent processing time for 1-5 weeks but Etsy automatically sets my ship by date earlier than the latest time. If I set the time back, it notifies the buyer. They consented to the long processing time when they purchased it and when Etsy sets an earlier date that I have to move, it makes them think I’m procrastinating.
Lastly, Etsy fees are abysmal. It’s absurd we have to pay such a big percentage to Etsy. I have some low value items I sell for only $2 + shipping and I only clear 50% of that so it’s not even worth selling, but I don’t want to increase prices because I feel that wouldn’t be fair to my buyers..Poppy877Version: 1.121
Glitchy and lackingEvery other second something will glitch, writing to customers, even scrolling through the message to read details, everything about this app is not only worse than the old one design wise, ironically enough, but also mechanic wise, its so glitchy it makes no sense, also putting into account how long it has been around already, such small bugs should have been fixed long ago and it’s making it insufferable to use and also makes it stressful to have a simple conversation. When writing a message it would glitch and not let you edit a word since it would keep on moving down or up, it’s like the all it’s l constantly forcing you to do something else, same with scrolling, you would scroll up and it would glitch and start pushing you down or you would scroll down and it would randomly, exactly at the same spot glitch and force you to go all the way down. Terrible UX, Lackluster features…I have only been selling on Etsy this year, but I was easily acquainted with the original seller app. I appreciated the favorites notifications, especially as a new seller, and being able to click through to view profiles of those who engage with your shop. The dashboard view was excellent and having stats separate was fine too.
The new app is such a mess to me (as a designer it’s painful to use). The ONLY feature I like is the live shop preview and ability to add videos. Otherwise I don’t get it. Why remove favorites notifications? Why bury favorites and shop engagement in the middle of the 4th tab as if that’s not an important part of the shop? Why did you remove “views” from the dashboard? When editing listing photos you cannot rearrange them up or down bc the app thinks you’re still scrolling down the page. I’m going to add the original app back again and just hope Etsy doesn’t delete it. A couple of examples, you cannot bulk edit in this app, cannot select multiple listings to update inventory or change shop sections or shipping profiles. Also, you cannot select and copy any sort of text from order notes. This is a necessary feature. When messaging someone I often copy and paste back to them their order notes. Now I am expected to type them out manually?
The app is beautiful in presentation but they went for form over function. I would much rather have a less aesthetic app that has full functionality including all of the small details that the old app allowed. Not user friendly and Etsy is not seller friendlyThe new app is not user friendly. Essential features are missing or work improperly. Views and visits are never accurate. They change frequently throughout the day and night, so apparently you can lose views and visits from one minute to the next. The following day there might be none at all from the day before, even though they were just there before the day turned over. Maybe if Etsy had taken the money wasted on this app and saved it, they could’ve applied it to saving the sellers money. By the time we pay this fee and that fee and every fee under the sun and eat shipping costs and figure in materials and labor and the time it actually takes to photograph, video and list an item, the mark up has to be so astronomical in order to turn a profit that nothing sells. We have to give our hard work away and etsy is making our fortune instead of us. Waste of so much time and effort and I’m sure $ on etsys end!Just tweak the old app to include some of the features sellers have wanted for ages! Nobody likes this app! The people who use it daily find it confusing and time consuming! All you had to do was update the older app…that’s it. Why waste the money? Terrible platformNot worth selling on here not sure where to begin. First i paid for the platform twice when i asked for the first payment they said that it doesn’t show up on their end which i snapped a picture of both occasions and they still to this day havent given my money back. Support favours buyersIt seemed like a good place to sell and all was going well until you find out support is really not there to support sellers.
When buyer is able to lie and leave horrible review to purposely ruin your shop that you work hard to create. Even with all the proof available Etsy will not take down a dishonest review.
Writing a response is completely useless. They limit the amount of spaces you can write.
You can’t respond probably to the situation and you end up using most of the spaces saying things like thank you for helping me improve my service and so on. Once a review is up no one cares about a response.
Another thing to look out for are scammers. Within minutes of signing up scammers are trying to hook you. Also within minutes of posting my listing they are waiting.
My conclusion is. For a site that’s built on sellers offering personal engaging service to buyers.

Nonexistent customer serviceIf I could give no stars I would. Etsy is by far the worst marketplace ever. They take take take, grade you on YOUR customer service skills yet, they can’t even be bothered to have their own customer service team respond or even help sellers. They favour the American market more than any other country which, in my opinion, gives an unfair competition to every one else in other countries. Per the seller handbook, if you use the “us guaranteed free shipping” your listings are automatically placed higher in the search engine for buyers to see - forcing sellers to pay the cost of shipping. Oh and BTW, it is illegal to add the cost of shipping to your product price and then advertise “free shipping” because it’s not free when the price is adjusted to include shipping. Sellers - check your local and federal laws respecting shipping costs and adding that cost to products without informing customers to get free shipping and advertising it as free shipping. In Canada - it’s been noted by the competition bureau that it is not legal. Moreover, after a week of contacting Etsy regarding issues with their shipping profile, and being unable to set it up and receiving a message stating “unable to save shipping profile” also informing them of various forums with the same issue - I still have no resolution and Etsy replied with screenshots of “how to set up a shipping profile” as if I didn’t already do that. It’s like customer support doesn’t actually read the messages and just reads the subject line and assumes what’s being said. If this is how Etsy plans to operate while taking 0.27 (cnd - the 0.20 USD varies based on the exchange rate so, Canadians are actually paying MORE) for EVERY LISTING, plus transactions fees at 6.5% of the price PLUS the shipping handling fee. Oh and did you know Etsy charges a “set up fee” of $15 dollars? Me neither. Payment processing using Etsy payments 3-4% + 0.25%. And for the life of me, I cannot understand how anyone is giving the app “five star” reviews. Horrid Customer Service for SellersThis company was once my favourite. I loved that they supported small businesses and that I had access to them.
Until I decided to open a seller account, whatever you think the costs they withdraw are, regardless of what they say on their terms of service, it’ll be triple that.
This forces sellers to charge much higher prices, which most customers won’t find worth it. They give customers the option to choose and pay for their shipping, yet you still have to pay for it.
If the customer chooses untracked shipping and then files a claim that they did not get their package… they get a refund from you, the seller's funds… even if they do end up receiving the package. Customer support's reasoning is an auto-response that says a refund is always given for untracked packages, even if that’s what the customer picked.
They’ll remove listings and give no human response when you try to submit for a re-review; it’s an auto-response again and again, even when other shops have the same listings.
If you call them out, they will ignore you, and I presume they’ll remove bad reviews, as I’m surprised by the lack of exposure to their horrid ways.
The bigger companies get, the less human they become, but sadly, this is what happened to Etsy… a once company for the people.._me-97Version: 1.109.1
