Amazing for Beginners!!!I have always heard from social media about finance tricks and the importance of investing, but I felt like I never really knew how to do it in the first place. My school never really taught me these skills either. When I saw a video about Alinea on social media and hearing about their backstory, I felt like it was the perfect app to get started on investing. Everyday they post a instagram story styled summary on all the finance related stories that is happening in the world. You can also customize the businesses that you are investing in, by your values such as women owned or climate friendly. They can also auto invest for you. I have a certain amount of money set at the beginning of every month that automatically gets invested and it makes it so easy. While they can auto invest for you, what I love about it is also learning about what my investment does. I feel in like in this current economy, where prices are rising, I get so worried about how I would afford things in the future. I’m so grateful that I am getting a start on my finance journey. Been looking for an app like this!Been looking for an app like this for a while, and after seeing it on TikTok, so I decided to download it. The user interface makes it very easy to use and it’s aesthetically pleasing. The issue I have with it is the investors spend more time making ads, then actually being active on other platforms. I attempted to research before actually investing and getting into the app. They have a Discord that they aren’t even active on and the TikTok account that they have for this is mainly just add to not actually how to use the app or tips or anything. It could be a very good app, but I feel like I’ve basically had to go into this blind, because there was no one you can actually ask for about information. They offer a zoom call but it's hard to get in contact with a human being. Even on their website, the most recent article was from forever ago. I’m not quick to judge the app, but I am quick to judge the creators and their lack of presence. i’ve tried to get people to start a conversation in the Discord so that I could have an understanding and so that others can have an understanding, but it seems the creators are just not there nor do they want to check it. App ReviewThis app is honestly a really helpful and well designed app. With lots of great features, were it is well designed to help people like me who want to learn how to get rich. Investment made easyThis is definitely a first step to investment for me I have never invested before but with all the ads I saw and how easy it seemed I joined! They got meI originally downloaded this because of TikTok, but now it’s actually making me excited to invest. I’m not sure what they could do to make the app better. The only suggestion I have is that when you click one of the companies that you invest in from the list along with showing you your data with the investment would also show you all the basic info of that company as well instead of having to like search it. I’m not gonna lie I was reading other reviews that said it was a scam cause they couldn’t unlink their account so I got nervous and it’s definitely a process to unlink but I was able to do so. I haven’t been able to withdraw my money just yet cause you have to wait a couple weeks after the investment ends but I’ll update if I’m able to do that later I might have to relink my bank but I’m willing to do that. It’s really good, but a bit expensive IMOI’ve been wanting a broker for a while now since I usually invest on my own. I love Alinea for this purpose, and the returns are great. HOWEVER. Cons: The first 4 months I was investing $100 mo to see if it was worth it. I was making about a 10% return. So I bumped it up to $150. In 6 mo I have invested $800, and made $68. Here’s the catch: the membership breaks down to $10/mo.. so I’ve already lost $60 in fees. I haven’t really made any money at all. To make it worth it you would have to invest at least $300 a month to actually see a return. But $120 a year is just a little pricy if you’re not willing to invest a LOT of money per mo into a brokerage. $120 a year is more than half a stock of Tesla rn. Pros: their platform is fun. I love the short articles, and easily being able to track where my money is going and what I’m investing in. I love the bright colors of the app, with everything being engaging and easy on the eyes. It has made a somewhat boring topic engaging and has made me get more into stocks than ever over the last 6 months. Really great app and customer service!I originally downloaded Alinea last year around this time and, though it’s a great app, i didn’t want to start investing just yet. As it is stated when you sign up there is a yearly $85 fee and i had lacked to have seen that. I reached out asking for a refund because i just didn’t have money like that to spend. They’re customer service was awesome and they helped me get the money back + gave me a free year for the inconvenience. Fast forwarded a few months, i decided to deactivate my account since i hadn’t used it hardly thinking it would also end my subscription. I redownloaded the app and realized i had been charged the same $85 fee because my subscription was not cancelled. I contacted customer service and they helped me yet again to get a refund and to permanently end my subscription so it wouldn’t happen again. Great customer service!I downloaded this app to check it out and accidentally ended up with a $120 charge on my card after realizing it was an expensive service. I was initially upset that they charged me when I didn’t think that I signed up for any kind of free trial, so I just emailed the contact listed and explained that I didn’t realize, knowing full well I probably just lost $120. Overall really like the appI have always been overwhelmed by learning about stocks and never knew where to begin. Overall Great with some room for improvementI want to start off and say this is my favorite app for investing! I’ve used robin & other ones but I really like this one especially cause it is woman founded. I like the educational snippets and news clips included in the app. My favorite is the slider that shows past investments & what they would be worth today. What I want to see is the actual growth on my stocks. When I buy more stocks it shoots up my graph which makes it look like my investments are wayyyyyy higher. Great beginner investing app!I had little to no knowledge of investing before using Alinea. The stock market always felt super abstract—even scary? It felt like putting my money into a void with no understanding of what I was doing and how it was working. Thank you TikTok!I came across Alinea on TikTok and really didn’t have high hopes for it. I assumed the app would be a scam and I would never see my money again. Well Alinea sure proved me wrong! As a 20 year old who has no clue how to do stocks or anything about them, Alinea paved the way for me. By investing how ever much money you wanna start with they will put percentages of your money into stocks they know will best suit your interest and will make you money over time. Refused refund even though I cancelled on the last day of my 7 day trialI signed up for a trial, decided it wasn’t for me and decided to cancel. Still got charged $120. Then sent several emails back and forth through, each time met with refusal to return $120 because I didn’t cancel by the EXACT TIME I SIGNED UP. After signing up I gave it a day or two to sit with my trial and see if I could learn anything. The app is just links to different articles about investing. Not very helpful. After reading other reviews, I realized I should have never signed up in the first place. My trial date was from 12/17 to 12/24. On 12/24 I decided this was not right for me and cancelled my subscription. Christmas came and there was a charge for $120 out of my bank account. After I contacted the company, I got a reply email from Pauline, with a snapshot of the transactions, explaining to me that while my trial ended up 12/24, it ended at 10:37 am and I didn’t cancel until 6:37pm. I have never seen a company be so petty. I have sent several emails attempting to remain calm and cordial, however I am still met with the reply that I should have cancelled before 10:37 and my options are to keep the subscription or transition to the $10 a month option. THEY STEAL MONEH FROM YOUAs soon as you get into the app they immediately take out $200 from your account before you even agree to do anything or decide to even invest. This happened to me and of course i was in shock of $200 disappearing from my bank account especially because in a slot prepared for it and was only looking to explore the app as i did not have the funds at the time to invest. i asked for a refund in which they gave back but i never used the app after that and thought i deleted my account. To my surprise more than a year later i have been charged $120 out of nowhere when i don’t use the app and don’t even have it downloaded. I though i deleted my account the first time but i must have not. Again, im in shock from the disappearance of money from my bank and it’s at a time where i cannot financially support this. I’ve contacted them on the app and i get a response saying they’ll get back to me on the app or through email. It says that they’re “online”?? but they haven’t responded to me. 🛑Read reviews before downloading🛑I downloaded the app to check it out, but after putting my information in I decided it wasn’t for me so I deleted it. I was looking at charges on my bank account yesterday, and I saw they had taken $120 from me without me even using their app. I looked into it and I guess as soon as you put in your information, they take $120 from you for a “membership” that you don’t even agree too. They claim they want to help beginners make money, but it seems like they are taking advantage of their vulnerable audience instead by immediately taking their money and not offering refunds. I did not even finish making an account yet and they took my money from me. I really thought these were people that wanted to help me, and I am extremely disappointed to learn otherwise.
