Awesome appI have been using this app for a few years, along with several family members and friends. I had one issue where I had changed banks and had a payment that didn’t show up. The first people I called was my bank and they did a trace on it and it was found before closing the same day. I’ve seen several reviews complaining about customer service not being good because of a similar problem but what people need to realize is customer service reps are NOT BANK EMPLOYEES. They are entering your issue into a program or selecting pre made problems and given a script to read and that’s all they can do. I would recommend this app to anyone to use especially if they travel. When you use your card you get a txt within seconds usually before you get out the door. So if some gets your card info and uses it you are notified within seconds of its use. Also I found that if you use the card to pay for a meal where you tip, they can’t go back and add the tip to the card, so have a little cash on you to tip. I tried to add a tip a few times before I figured it out but as soon as they run the card to get the receipts to bring to you, you will get a txt for the purchase usually before the waiter/waitress gets back. I have had my local bank card info taken before and it was used to buy a TV in Texas thankfully I had just used my card 1500 miles away in my hometown minutes before getting gas and was called by the bank and they stopped the transaction. UndecidedWell I normally don’t leave a review but I thought maybe someone at cashapp would recognize this as a problem.. so today I received funds from someone and went in to do an immediate withdrawal/transfer to my bank acct and received a message ‘transfer to your bank account has failed’. I thought maybe it was a fluke and tried again… and again.. and again.. to no avail. One time it looked like it with through because I don’t get the message and the funds were not showing available but it also didn’t show in the transaction history or my bank account. So I waited and it popped back up so I tried again to transfer and still kept getting the same message. I am glad I’m not in desperate need of these funds at this very moment but it makes me think in the future I probably shouldn’t use this as a reliable way to receive immediate funds. I’ll get it sometime and hope that it work it’s way out. Oh almost forgot I just did an update earlier today and before doing it I always had a notification even when there wasn’t any new notifications. Cash App for the WinI love using the Cash app for so many reasons. At first like Venmo it was a great way to send money (without the social aspect which I prefer). Then I began to use it to buy Bitcoin and was even able to transfer it to another wallet. Then I began to use it to buy stocks. And then I used it to send profits over to my other bank account as needed. In all its been great in general. I wish there were more advanced Charts for Stocks and Bitcoin, as well as, the details for Bitcoin Realized gains and loses like there are on the stock side. I also wish there was a way for Cash app to offer a Self Custody Hot Wallet or maybe even create a hardware wallet that is easy to use, which could be a way to protect one’s Bitcoin. Considering so many companies going bankrupt and trading customer funds, its is crucial to offer customers a way to have self-sovereignty over their Bitcoin. It is the reason it was created, to remove trust from the system. As it is, it requires us to re-introduce trust and requires the user to trust the platform they are on to not misuse or misappropriate customer funds/coins. I do love that you have incorporated the lightning network. If you want people to spend it though, you need to work on lobbying for government to recognize it as legal tender so people aren’t incurring large tax bills when using it as a medium of exchange. There was one time I was short on a bill and this was after I had lost my job and had been waiting for unemployment to come in and cash app was suddenly giving me an extra Amount of money on my borrow limit. DO NOT INSTALLThere is no one home here. I have a fraudulent firm stealing money from my account and these people will do nothing to stop it. They say they will but you are talking to a bot that tells you it is connecting you will an advocate which is another bot. After promising you a solution if you gather information all day long, they will tell you that the issue is closed and do nothing for you even though they promised only hours before to solve the issue and refund fraudulent charges if you took the steps they cannot even remember they told you to take. That money? Gone. And it continues. On top of this I have a charge pending for weeks on my account that they will do nothing about and I am stranded in the middle of a trip because of this. Again, they told me to collect information from the hotel and they would lift the hold. I did. On corporate letter head as they requested. I am then told after hours of work, that they will not help or provide any more information on this and basically end the chat. The hotel can not believe it and tell me it is my app’s responsibility and I believe them. PLEASE: This app is over. Used to be greatUsed cash app for years! Then one day out of nowhere they closed my account. In app support said they could not say why it was closed, and then closed the chat. I had used my cash app card the night before with no issues. Never had problems. Then one day they just terminated my account for violating terms but never said what the violation was. Ive only had one possible explanation i could come up with that could be a problem cash app where my linked bank did a reversal where someone had gotten my phone and sent them $120 and i tried to have cash app customer support reverse it without success however my bank agreed it was fraudulent and said they would attempt to reverse it after canceling my cards and issuing a replacement card. I called cash app support after getting no help with in app support and the representative was horribly rude and refused to give me a reason why my account was terminated and refused to escalate my issue to a higher level of support and then hung up on me. Cash app has lost my support and definitely has changed over the years. Sadly its not for the better. I read more and more stories online where this happens to others. Just thankful i did not have any funds in my cash app account when they closed my account with no warning, reason or explanation as to what alleged policy violations happened. WAY EASIER THAN THE BANKS!I wasn't sure about this app but I'm sure thankful for being introduced to it! I needed to deposit over $1,600 to a Chase account of someone on the other side of the country. I first tried to take the money in cash to deposit but I was told they wouldn't deposit cash but would accept a bank card. The money was deposited to my account and I went back to chase for the transfer. It "worked". It was a Saturday so I figured it wouldn't show up on my statement until Monday. That's okay. Monday comes and I need to deposit another $70. However, this time I was told that the transfer on Saturday had been declined AND I WAS BEING CHARGED A FEE FOR IT! I had the fee removed and then went to pay the full amount. It was declined. I was told there was probably some "cash advance limit" on my account. I left. Called my bank and found out that they TOO have charged me a fee for the failed transaction on Saturday. I was also informed that there were no limits or restrictions on my account so the decline had to come from Chase. This was ridiculous. I was getting mad! I had both fees removed but still needed to get the money to my friend! Then someone introduced me to this app. I was hesitant because they need personal info and because it had to do with a lot of money. I was thrilled with how easy it was! The amount of time it took to set up an account on $Cash, send the money, and receive confirmation that it had arrived, was about the same length of time it took me to park at one of the banks. Ok app but keeps charging feesI keep having issues with them charging me fees even though my account was supposedly “downgraded” to a “personal” account over a year ago. I am not sure how my profile was made to be a “business” profile to begin with, but they give you zero options of changing it yourself. The first time I reached out to support about this, they said they downgraded it and sent me a partial refund. I was pretty irked that it was only a partial refund instead of the full refund like it should have been, but since I waited so long to do anything about it, I didn’t fight it. I actually never knew that personal accounts didn’t get charged fees until way later, which is a lot of the reason I didn’t do anything for so long. However, a year later, I’m still being charged cash out fees, and support hasn’t even emailed be back about the matter. The app needs a way to manually set and change your profile type, and they need to fully reimburse funds that they take from you even after assuring you it shouldn’t happen again. For now they get a 2 star rating, and that’ll only change if they actually email me back and give me back the money they’ve taken and assured me they wouldn’t take. Update: I’ve changed my rating to 4-star because I got some actual feedback and reimbursement. While not all of my fees were reimbursed, I got back the majority of what had been wrongfully taken. Wonderful concept but watch out for the not-rightsI love this app for its simplicity and ease when buying everything from stocks to gasoline and from bit coin to paying my friend for a debt, But watch out for scammers and fraudsters they are real, bold and not-right in every way. They contact you parading as employees of cash app and convince you they are in short order. Their techniques revolve around making you believe they need to “verify” your account. Using a remote screen viewing app they ask you to download. Once setup in seconds they guide you through steps such as adding your ID to the app. Depositing money from your bank account to cash app balance and of course giving you a cash app address to send that balance or some part of it to a “practice” address . Promising this is only a test and whatever goes out will quickly come back. Arguing with you if you question the process. Not only did they try to get me to send them money. The same “agent” repeatedly called me back over the course of a week. Asking me whether my cash app accounts where working properly I never gave him any cash through the process but I came close to it as I sat with my finger over the pay button, every fiber of my common scene screaming at me not to do it.... I tried to contact cash app to determine whether this was ligit but no phone number I used resulted in assistance. If your information gets stolen you’re basically screwedMy information has gotten stolen somehow twice. I don’t listen to scam sites, don’t give anyone my information, and frequently change my cashapp pin and passwords. And yet my information gets stolen which is annoying. But what makes it worse is that when someone makes an unauthorized transaction and you try to dispute it, you have to wait for the transaction to be finished, and you cannot cancel it but instead have to dispute it. I wouldn’t have an issue with this is disputing actually worked. But I’ve tried it, and it doesn’t. You get an email and you’ll have to answer some questions. If they deem your answers invalid they won’t give you your money back, which I wouldn’t be frustrated at if they actually judged it well. For example, I live in Massachusetts and don’t ever make transactions outside of Massachusetts (never have), why would my next transaction be in a whole other state when I just now made a transaction here unless there were multiple users on the card? Amazing! But..So to start off, I love cashapp. I’m a teenager and I’ve always loved being in charge of my own money and being able to online shop whenever I want. However, there’s been a problem with my card lately. I’m no longer allowed to make purchases with it and I’m not sure why. I play games that require certain purchases and I shop on Shein a lot. But recently my card has started declining even when there’s money in the account. Me and my older brother do chores to get money every other week, but my card has all the sudden started failing when I try to buy something or order something. When I go to pay, I’ll use my fingerprint for the Apple Store to pay, it’ll show successful, then show a warning that says “Unable to Complete Purchase” ‘we were unable to charge any of your payment methods on file for your account. Please update your billing info.’ Then when I click continue to see the problem, it shows my Apple Account with 11$ in it, and my cashapp card that says Failed under it. I’ve tried canceling it and putting it back in but it just won’t work correctly. Once I put my card back in, it says my payment method was declined. I click continue and it tries to get me to type another payment. I checked my cashapp and it’s telling me I have 43$ that’s unpaid. I haven’t bought anything for 43$ recently so idk what’s going on. When I try to pay, it claims I have 43$ unpaid. Idk how to fix this. I only have 22$ in my account at the moment but idk how to fix this issue considering I did NOT buy 43$ of anything within the past couple months. Idk how to fix this. Not the great but not that bad appI really wish that cash app would do better about how refunds are able to be returned to senders, especially when a service has not been completed. They leave up to the recipient on whether or not if they want to return the money or not. Some people are not that honest and will not return money and that is not okay. You have scammers on there who create accounts for non existent businesses that steal people's money and it never gets return because the person changes their info and these thieves keep the payments. it's not okay. Your good, but it could be better. Follow up: I recently contacted the recipient about getting the money back on an a service that was not completed and the recipient declined the return transaction. This is after I I was told to reach out to the recipient by Cash App support and like I said, the recipient declined the transaction. I still say, it is not okay to give the recipient the option to determine whether or not they will give the money back. Some people are not as forth coming and honest. At this point, it's not even about the money, it's about the principle. I highly doubt that Cash app is unaware that there are dishonest people on here using their app to lie and steal from other Cash app users. Auto Cash Out Has Periodic ErrorsWhile I appreciate that this app allows for the transfer of money freely between people, bank accounts, debit cards, etc., it’s very frustrating that every 60-90 days, the auto cash out feature stops working and then I have to go through Plaid to input the user credentials for my linked bank account. Cash app doesn’t ever acknowledge that the system has glitches. I keep advising Support over and over again that a linked bank account should not delink itself and the Support person or bot becomes confused like I am speaking a different language. I have no idea why it is so difficult for creators and technical support for applications and programs to be honest, transparent, and helpful. A Support person will send a user through the same process that the user completed 3-4 months ago and that was successful at that time and then have the user do the same thing again without admitting or advising that there must be an issue. If you’re asking me to do the same thing that I did when I set up my account and I haven’t changed anything, then that means something is wrong. My bank tells me that this isn’t a problem on its end. KEEPS CrashingNormally I’d give cash app 4.5 stars its a great app. But ever since December started it has been crashing. Granted I have an older IPhone, but its weird because I’ve never had these issues before. I am concerned bc this app is easy when it comes to giving and receiving funds. However it just won’t even load up. It keeps crashing before anything loads. My sister has a newer iPhone and it loaded just fine. However, iphones are expensive and I am not about to buy a whole new phone just to fix cash app. Hopefully it works soon. Cause most people have cash app and I am willing to use other avenues, but most people only have cash app. This is kind of frustrating but I will keep checking in the next few weeks. Good app, but still some issues.I’ve been using cashapp about as long as I’ve had a debit card. Same debit card used every time. But, after my experience the last night or two, I’ve decided to move onto Zelle or Venmo. I got off work late last night and wanted something to eat, and after having some issues with my card I decided to attempt to add the funds to my cashapp to purchase said food. Well, that kept failing and declining. Now, it’s the next morning, my debit card is fine now but still unable to add cash to my cashapp card. Deleted the card and decided to readd it, only to be told 3 times it was incorrect number even THOUGH i’m staring at my card right next to me as I’m typing the numbers in; nothing is wrong. The app is updated, but now, I’m no longer able to use cashapp to send/receive money because ‘ThErEs SoMeTHiNg WrOnG wItH mY bAnK’ when I know good and well there isn’t. And all they’ve been telling me is to contact my bank, despite my actual debit card is working perfectly fine and able to process transactions. I’ve had other issues with sending money in the past, with despite having money in my account on my card, they never processed or was able to be sent. Boosts used to be better; people don’t use the appI got the cash app card because I could get boosts (discounts) at any grocery store, any restaurant, and any coffee shop. Now, the only boosts offered are for places I don’t shop and most of them offer discounts less than 10% and even as low as 2%! It’s really not much of an incentive to use the card. Anything less than 15% seems stingy to me, although I’d use a small discount if it’s somewhere I’m shopping anyway, like a grocery store. Another issue I’ve run into is that I don’t know anyone who uses Cash App. I’ve received money from only one person in the several years I’ve had the app and haven’t sent any. I kept it around because I like it better than Venmo and the older boosts were more appealing. Sadly, Venmo seems much more popular, at least where I live. I invested in Bitcoin for a while but switched to another app that doesn’t charge fees. Overall, I like the app and it’s simplicity. I feel that it’s slightly more privacy-friendly than Venmo. I like that we can have usernames. I wish my friends and family actually used it. ScammersA scammer got my credit cash card number by stating they were collecting for a debt that I was paying for several years , they claimed that my debt will be collected by them and that I had to give them my information, it seemed to me to be legitimate so I gave them my cash card number which they soon after collected the amount that I’ve been paying for several months, soon after my card was debited by the collection agency that I’ve been sending the payments to for months, I contacted them stating that another collection agency contacted me stating that they were now collecting for this debit and took my credit card information and shortly after collected the payment it turned out that the scammers hacked into the collection agency that I’ve been sending payments to computer system stealing information of over 500 accounts mine being one of them, I immediately blocked the scammers on my Cash card account then canceled my account with them and was able to order a new card. Cash pay made it easy to do all this online without speaking to a cash pay representative. Therefore the scammers can no longer steal my money, I got my money back . I also love the saving feature, where you can set a goal and add money to the savings and Cashapp will calculate the amount you need to save to reach your savings goal. You can also do the round up feature where all of your purchases will be rounded up, and the money that is rounded up will be added to your savings. Another feature that I love, is that you can borrow money from the app and when you pay back what you owe, eventually the amount that you can borrow will be increased. Not everyone has this feature at first, but be patient because the app is working on adding it to all Cashapp accounts. I haven’t ever had a hacking incident etc either, like I have had with other apps and in fact every penny that is spent gets reported to you so that you can keep track of your money. Great App ALL AROUND!I Absolutely LOVE this Cash App! There’s a Bonus I get while using this app too... It monitors the Stock Market & it lets you see how stocks by how they are performing or you can look up individual stocks & keep your own personal list to keep an eye on them! Finally, a streamlined money exchange!I've used other crappy apps in the past that claim to do everything cashapp does without a hitch. Turns out those nameless apps... have to many hitches to count. I use Chime as pertinent to my specific subjective circumstance and when my employer posts payment, I get paid a whopping four days early! Disclaimer, the aforementioned won't necessarily be true for others so don't attempt to blame me if you attempt the same and have a different timeframe. Moving your own money desperately needs improved…Cash app has been my 1st choice for several years now. however, I also use Step, Dave, CreditKarma, PayPal to name a few, They all have their strength and weakness obviously and over time I see a lot of the “weakness” slowly start improving. Bad experience with taxes this yearThe only reason I used cash app was because Credit Karma switched over to this service this year. I really hate the fact that it made me do it on the app the whole time. It advertises that you can use the desktop browser, but in my experience, I was redirected to the app download page every time I tried to do this. The app was glitchy and did not respond well to touch controls. My inputs weren't saved on several pages after I clicked the "next" button, but before the next page loaded, so I needed to re-enter information repeatedly. There was an issue with one of my tax answers that needed to be fixed, but the push notification didn't go through even though I had everything set up for my device. The emails from cash app were automatically filtered into my spam folder, which is frustrating on several different levels. Birthday Problem(Before I saw anything else, I’m gonna acknowledge that this is mostly my fault. Great app but Boosts are not being appliedFirst off, I’d like to say that the app itself is great overall compared to other P2P payment services; the UI is simple and easy to navigate; no need for a social feed. Very upset unauthorized purchase if I could do zero stars, I wouldThis app took me very unserious when I mentioned that Cash App had taken $700 update to the situation. Paper DepositsCashapp was my go to provider to easily move money around for a long time. Suddenly and without notice they stopped my ability to do cash/paper deposits. I work in a field where my pay is cash tips and most brick and mortar banks are not convenient anymore. Cashapp solved this issue by allowing deposits at certain stores and gas stations. My convenient banking was then suddenly interrupted less than a week ago because I no longer had the option to use the Paper Deposit option. I was confused as to why I could not access this anymore. I reached out to Customer Support in the application and couldn’t get anything but a bland answer that it could be for security reasons but I couldn’t get any more than that. I asked for a phone support number to call. When I reached out to them I was then told that they are rolling out Paper Deposit to different places in the country and it was time for mine to be turned off so that someone else could use this option. Anyone who had this option removed should have been made aware of it well in advance but no notice was given. Worst BusinessIn February 2026, fraud on my Cash App card completely emptied my checking account. I filed a fraud claim with Cash App immediately. It took several follow-ups to receive any type of communication. I was followed up on by three separate managers, who stated they would personally take care of my case. And never heard back from them again. Their system is set up so that you cannot email those managers back directly. The only way you can speak to anyone is through their poor customer service number. When my bank called them regarding the fraud. They lied and told them that the transactions were approved., Therefore my bank would not reimburse me for those funds lost, almost $2000. Once my case was actually acted on was in. May 2026 and they denied the 3 large fraud transactions. And refunded me the small ones totaling $120. all 5 of the fraud transactions happened at the same time, done by the same hacker, so how does it make sense to only refund me the small transactions and deny the large ones when they were clearly all fraud? We went to use the mobile deposit check scan to deposit a check from a legitimate business. Over a week later we still have not been released the funds and after reaching out to cash app support several times, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, managers never call you back just send you a generic email stating something that’s different than what it said at first when we went to use it and to be frank the ONLY reason we used it. Well we were entrapped and they now stated that they have changed it from the 5-8 business days to now almost two weeks we have to wait for the funds to be released. All because we called and complained about the treatment through this entire thing! Business check…confirmed money was taken from business…cleared a week ago….and still no deposit. Cash app continually gets sued and for very VERY obvious reasons. They’re scammers with a scam artist type of company. If I Could ZERO stars I wouldThe reason is because I’m out of town & can not download paper money to my card. The app has disabled the option to deposit paper money in store. Mind you I’m in California and the feature was just available last week. I asked customer service why is the feature all of a sudden not available they couldn’t give me a solid answer all they keep saying is that it’s computer generated. So you mean to tell me the system automatically chooses who is eligible to make paper deposits through select stores. Woooowww now I’m across country on the west coast when I’m from the east coast & needed a place to stay. I told customer service it would not let me add my other cards & let them know what error message it was giving me. Still no answers, & they still couldn’t tell me why out of all people in the world this happens on my account. Please let me is it fraudulent activity or something. These people couldn’t tell me nothing at all. All customer service could tell me was I can get a supervisor to respond to you through an email within 24 hours. If I could give no stars I would, shady businessI’ve been with cashapp for a while and recently needed to get a new card as my old one expired. If you have to do this, be careful you don’t have any pending transactions (they will leave a transaction as pending even after it clears your account) because after your new card number is repopulated they will resend all of the pending transactions to be cleared under the new card number even though both cards are linked to the same account. Which double charges your account and over draws it sucking up the money you had sitting on the card for emergencies like gas. Basically ate through $50 that was sitting on my account and now they’re telling me I need to wait 10-45 business days to get a refund of my own money. In total, I’m out $83 right now because of them. Support, as always, is no help and management same thing. This isn’t the only sketchy thing that has happened since starting with cash app. They’ve mysteriously charged my account before and never try to address any of my complaints. This is the last straw. When I get my refund, I’m done with this app. If I never get a refund my account will stay over-drafted because it’s their problem. My mother also had an issue where her account was hacked and her bitcoin and the money on the card were cashed out to another card. The proof was on her account but still cash app refused to help. Best informationIuse to love Cash App it use to do what it says in comparison to other Apps that deals with money transfer. Until new updates and discomfort with their customer service and recent changes on my account, which got disable for no apparent reasons whatsoever. It only says due to fraudulent and violation of laws they will not state the specific issues as to why the account is closed when I have been a faithful customer and responsible customer until this past month or so I have been closed account. Have been constant back and forth fighting with the notion of getting my account back and they have not been consistent as to why they closed the account. They literally told me they do not owe me no explanation and that it is closed. I told them nicely time after time why was my account was closed and how can we rectify it? crickets. I was dealing with another application that forced this account to closed. Watch out for TEMU they will still and over pass CashApp and take your money with out your consent. That happened to me. I heard they were doing that from other people I know but never thought it would be me. I ran my course with Cash App for 8 years and never had an issue until a month ago. This caused detrimental , emotional distress and anxiety over something that could be fixed and was not. Despite paying business fees, this is poorly designed for business use.I used CashApp fairly often to transfer money to (and occasionally from) my teenaged/young adult children. I own a small business and an ever increasing number of my clients do not have traditional bank accounts so I tried to set up a business CasApp account. It was pretty painful although I eventually got it set up. CA requires a phone number to be associated with your account. However, when I tried to use my cell phone number it wanted to convert my personal account to a business account. Since I don’t commingle business funds with personal funds, I was only able to use my email address to create a new (as opposed to converted) business account. Next, their system would not accept my business address as legitimate because it is a PO Box. My business does not have a traditional bricks and mortar facility, we are completely mobile. However, because my primary business function is to provide court-ordered GPS tracking services to criminal defendants, for safety reasons, I do NOT give my home address to my clients. The PO Box is also the official address of record for my business with both the Secretary of State’s office and my business bank. In the end, I set it up using my business email address with no phone, making password recovery and two-factor authentication more difficult and using my home address , which is not only an incorrect address for the business but is also very scary for me. Cash app shady survey!!Accurately, I received an email survey through Cash App and which I went ahead and participated in because of a situation, maybe 2 1/2 months ago. Pay for service that was not properly delivered as promised, even though I asked this young lady several times because she actually performed the service I was desiring and she guaranteed me she could and which she didn’t and I requested for half of my money back because the service was for my birthday and she ruined my hair. However, cash app directed me to resolve the issue on my own as I was going through the survey, inquired about any recent disputes or issues in which I didn’t inform by detail because they asked the questions with selective answers. So when I got to the end, It booted me out and told me that they were looking for “specific qualifications” I didn’t know you needed to have qualifications to do a survey if that’s the case then you shouldn’t invite everyone to the survey. Not sure if it’s because I said I didn’t report the situation to Cash App but how do you report a situation to Cash App when they’re directing you to resolve the issue yourself. Either way, wasted my time doing the survey and I’m not even sure if Im even being heard!!!
