Makes creating “working setups” an ease on my iPad…I am a copywriter, editor, and pulp fiction writer that has managed to downsize my work setup to just an iPad Air with Magic Keyboard and an external monitor. Everything works great — once I get the apps up and running! The problem was in creating an automated way to starting what I need, sending a message to my husband letting him know what I am doing (and whether or not he can drop in without texting first), and enabling the accessibility settings to make my life easy. Actions has solved that problem. The expanded options makes it easy for me to create a one-click solution that allows me to put in my earplugs, tug on my headset, and get to work. I have three custom actions enabled with the extra features Actions add to Shortcuts — start an hour writing session, start an hour dictating session, and return to normal life. Fantastic for Power UsersThis app is for you if you’re the kind of power user with dozens of Shortcuts who has been frustrated by the limitations of the built-in actions. This app provides almost all the tools I’ve been missing, and it works amazingly well. I had tried another actions app before, but it had everything behind a paywall, and I wasn’t able to try a single action I was interested in. Actions, on the other hand, is free with no ads, so I was able to verify that it would satisfy my needs. Actions for Shortcuts app gets better & better!I have used the Actions app for several years now and with at ~300 shortcuts, I have found the app to be outstanding and the developer phenomenal. The app fills in needed actions and versatility where Apple’s Shortcuts app is lacking. Sindre Sorhus has impressed me with quick responses to the few issues that I have had over the years and the issue are usually fixed in a week or less, unlike Apple’s time frames of months to 2 years. Phenomenal.. but now slow :(Over past few months updates made to the tool has made shortcuts run unbearably slow, I wish those changes would be reversed. Pulling up menus using the actions can take what feels like an eternity to display now. The changes also don’t appear to have resolved any of the bugs so not sure what the reasoning is. (With that said) What an incredibly great addon to shortcuts!! Adds some sorely needed actions to the app which can seriously improve the functionality and make more advanced shortcuts. A very valued add on app.This is an active developer and he is very responsive to the end user. Actions app extends functionality of Shortcuts apps tremendously with 90 plus actions. The inclusion of actions Is Reachable (via HTTP response) and Ask for Text that includes a timeout option corrects a serious deficiency in the list of actions within the Shortcuts app. The Actions app is free and does not track data linked to you. One new action made my dayThe new option that checks to see if the device is locked allowed me to create a shortcut that runs whenever the device is plugged into power. If the device is unlocked, the shortcut gives me the option to change the screen timeout (and the new option lets me prevent an annoying error message). There is a lot more to the utility but this was enough to get me to write - THANKS!!.PWD-dadVersion: 2.9.0

Excellent set of tools!This is a very nice set of actions for Shortcuts, perfect for any power user. I did find a bug with the list manipulation actions, although I’m not sure if it’s Actions’ or Shortcuts’ issue. To replicate the issue create a list, then perform an action such as “Reverse List.” Add a Stop and Output, or just output the resulting list and you’ll get a “The operation failed because Shortcuts couldn’t convert from Text to NSString.” This caused a lot of headaches in my more complex shortcuts, but I found performing a replace text action on the resulting list seems to be a way to get around this..Dr. Robot [001]Version: 2.3.0

Exactly what I needed and free!I really needed a shortcut to be able to detect when my iPhone was plugged into USB in my car vs just a normal charging cable. This absolutely gave me what I needed! I’m pretty surprised that Apple doesn’t provide this already, but oh well. I’m glad this exists. Wow!Holy moly! This exists?? It’s amazing. It gives Shortcuts so much of the power that it really should have built in. Honestly, it’s silly that some of these functions aren’t built in, while Apple allows a third party developer to take care of it for us. But we’re fortunate that they did. Great app, incredible supportWhen I first downloaded the app I was looking for a particular action. Upon closer inspection though the action desired wasn’t what I needed. 11/10 - An Amazing App for Anyone Needing Additional Shortcut’s Actions!Though Actions is very similar to Toolbox Pro, there are numerous Actions available that Toolbox Pro doesn’t have, so if you’re someone who has seen this and ignored it due to that fact then I’d highly suggest giving it an opportunity! One Major difference of the two, currently, seems to be that unlike Toolbox Pro, Actions has an Active Developer that is consistently updating the app with bug fixes and loads of additional actions while Toolbox Pro’s Developer has begun to focus on their other apps/projects, which is understandable though still a tad disappointing… Personally, though, I know I’ve got high hopes for this App and it’s Developer(s)! I’ll definitely be in contact soon to suggest some of my ideas for additional actions! Thanks a Bunch for this App and Keep Up the Fantastic Work! ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ EDIT (2 Years Later): I wanted to comment on this again and make some revisions to my initial review. I’ll start by commenting on the latter part of my initial review regarding the developer of Toolbox Pro. He, unfortunately, was ill… and terminally, if I’m not mistaken. He has since passed and may he rest in peace. The development of his apps were taken over by another group so no issues with updates now. Now, even with updates, Toolbox Pro and Actions still may have similar functionality but they do have many that are unique to their own apps. Also, after a bit of testing, I’ve found the Results of some of the Shared Actions seem to have some slight differences as Some offer Data Points that the other may not include. Also, I would love to see the developers of this app continue with the swift updates and additions. I’ve honestly yet to encounter any issues and couldn’t be happier. I’d love to get in contact with someone behind-the-scenes to be able to possibly offer some recommendations & suggestions for, both, current and future Actions.
