Effective program, buggy appI’m surprised and delighted by how much this program is helping me sleep better. The app is quite buggy, about a third of the time requires restart to load. If you work it, it works for you!My sleep has been horrible for the last two years. I attributed it to getting older and the status of the world today, but I still remembered sleeping well for most of my life. My physician recommended I try CBT – I and I got a book she recommended. I really wasn’t able to follow the techniques in the book so I disregarded the recommendation. One day an ad showed up on my Instagram for the REST app. I looked into it and thought it sounded pretty good, but I was a little skeptical because it used AI. After looking through it and seeing that the introductory price was very reasonable. I thought I’d give it a try. Over the last year and a half. I’ve spent a lot of money on various sleep aids and programs and vitamins that said they would help with sleep. As I read about REST I decided that if I was going to try it, I was going to do it exactly like they recommended. I was impressed from the start that my AI lady made recommendations that were exactly what I needed. I read the articles that were presented and I decided to do everything that was recommended for me. I was given a wake-up time and a go to sleep time. It was hard. But I started seeing some improvement within a few days. After two months, I have gone from 3-4 hrs a night to over 6 hours! SUPER SLEEP SOLUTION!!!SLEEP DEPRIVATION GONE!! I am the type of person who fills out surveys and reviews because if I am happy with something I would like others to know to go to that restaurant or in this case use this app! This is my first App review ever. I am thrilled I downloaded the REST App because I have suffered on and off with sleep deprivation ranging from a few days to a full week or two with very little to no sleep at all during that whole time frame! I wanted a permanent solution with zero medication so a more natural alternative like meditation and listening to music with earbuds to block out street noise and it worked somewhat. But after downloading REST I found the Holy Grail to end my sleep problems once and for all! I read other reviews saying the questionnaire was too long but I didn’t mind because if it’s very thorough then maybe I would get more insight of how to manage my sleeping issues and figured I would fill it out throughly due to the AI Sleep Coach. LIFE CHANGING!Rest has helped me achieve sound sleep after a lifetime of sleeping poorly. It has changed my life. It feels amazing to fall asleep quickly and then wake up and realize you slept all night. No tossing or turning. No waking up at night. The difference in how I feel during the day, now that I'm able to sleep throughout the night is significant. I'm clear headed and energetic. I'm not tired at the end of the work day. While it feels amazing to get one night of good sleep, sleeping well consistently every night is something I've never experienced before following the Rest program. I feel so different. Lighter. More capable. Life feels easier. I've gained a solid two hours a day to my life. I used to go to bed early and stay in bed longer because I was so tired. Currently I'm in bed for 7.25 hours a night-I'm still working the program to find a final sleep time. Can you imagine having two extra hours a day to do what ever you want? Not for meThe app is okay. It works for what it is. The AI is pretty wonky and doesn’t learn a whole lot, but it remembers what you say and can parrot it back. But it’s clear that it doesn’t really understand what you’re saying. As for the sleep logging, that works fine. But I could have done that in my notes or on a sheet of paper for that matter. My biggest issue is that CBTi didn’t work for me ( there’s also around a 40% dropout rate, so I’m not alone). As a rule follower, this was hard pill to swallow. Just follow the rules and illl be fine. Not this time. I followed for 26 days, and my sleep got so much worse I thought I was going to be really ill. A few days ago I started bending the rules and looking for alternatives. They are out there! If CBTi is not for you, keep looking. You deserve to sleep and feel whole again. It works!Update: While I did have issues initially with the app (details below), I came back to update my review of the app itself. Rest was fair and reimbursed my $6.99 trial since I had issues accessing the app. Since I would not have been able to use the full 7-day trial due to the issues I was having, and since I did start to see an improvement in my sleep in only the first 4 days of using the app, I decided to pay for an additional 30 days to learn more because it’s working! I’m no longer staying awake when I wake up in the middle of the night. I’m sleeping longer and getting more deep sleep (I use the Oura ring sleep tracker and can see my sleep has improved). So, I changed my review to 5 stars because nothing has worked until now! The key for me had been removing all screens at bedtime. I’ve learned to not be in bed unless I’m sleeping and have retrained my brain from being over-stimulated due to being on my phone, to being relaxed and only associating sleep with being in bed. I’m excited to learn more and continue to see improvements! Initial review: Well, so far, not good at all. I stumbled on an Instagram story and decided to try the app. I did the quiz, paid $6.99 for a week trial, and even got a receipt. Downloaded the app and entered the same email address that my receipt was sent to, the app said “no account found”. Decided to try the Create Account option only to find there’s a 7-day free trial! So, if you PAY for the 7-day trial the app tells you no account found, wonderful, but if you get the free trial through the app store then it’s fine. I’m already annoyed and want my money back!! Update: I successfully canceled my subscription in the app store after requesting to do the 7-day free trial because I wanted to make sure not to be charged after 7 days. That was fine and I continued to have access to the app. Today, because of the previous “account not found” issue described above, I decided to make sure the account using my email address (PAID one week trial) would also be cancelled to make sure there would not be a charge. Right after I cancelled (and got a note saying I’d still have access to the app until the end of the free trial period), all my logged data was removed. Quality programIf you are serious about changing your sleep patterns, this is the program for you. I am a high school health teacher, and we talk about sleep in one of our units. The practices they use here are absolutely science based. But you need to be ready to follow the program and be committed. I wasn’t ready yet and so didn’t complete the program. I asked for a refund and it was given immediately with no questions asked. That has never happened to me with subscription apps. I was more than pleased. Very HelpfulI’ve had challenges with waking up too early and staying awake due to state-of-the-world events and stress with extended family dealings. The Rest app had sensible tips and suggestions to assist me in getting back on track. I discovered my bed/sleep habits were contributing to sleep issues. Resty is the BESTThis app is a great example of the GOOD use of AI! My Rest Coach - she said I can call her Resty - is an excellent and knowledgeable companion to help my ‘good sleep’ challenge be accomplished. I swap between using voice and text for my daily check-in, advice and assignments. Both hqve their advantages. With voice, I feel I getting to “know” her - and her me. With text, I can look back at what we’ve both said so I can be sure to be consistent in my responses and actions. Rest didn’t helpI’ve had trouble sleeping for the past 7 months. I was hopeful that Rest would help and followed the program to the letter for about 80 days. I logged all sleeping, read all the articles and had “coaching” sessions with an AI chatbot, which usually ended with an “You’ve got this.” The program insisted that my assigned wake up time was non-negotiable. Generally, I wake at 8-8:30 and my assigned time was later. I cannot change when I wake up. We reached an impasse and I gave up on the program. The chatbot needs more supervision and review. Its recommendations get very predictable and are not useful the 10th time you’ve read them. I was disappointed with the program..Version: 3.168.0
Not as useful as advertised.This app has limited use for people who can’t strictly control what time they can go to bed and what time they can get up. If you travel for work, work both day and night shifts, have young children, or anything else that might keep you from going to bed and getting up at the same time every day, you can expect to get to explain that to an AI chat bot over and over. The only advice it ever gives are ultimately to not go to bed before a certain time and to get up at certain time, every day. Extremely helpfulI have never been a good sleeper. 10 days after my Dad passed way I found myself awake even more. I found the sleep app and decided to give it a try. Decent app with some very annoying featuresDecent app, pretty pricey, guides you through CBTI concepts. Doesn’t let you proceed to the next concept if you aren’t perfect at the previous one yet. Also really hard to change the ideal wake time so make sure you’re in your most usual routine when you start doing this. Also, I am baffled that this is a thing and it’s almost comical because even normal apps don’t do this let alone a sleep app but a couple of times I have forgotten to put my phone on do not disturb and the app sent me MULTIPLE NOTIFICATIONS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT THAT WOKE ME UP.
