It’s better!It’s gotten much better since I first used this system a couple years ago. The UI refinements are appreciated and the app seems faster. The system as a whole seems to be much more responsive than when I first used it. A better scheduling UI would be nice. Mostly worksI used to lose the connection to my water heater every few days and would have to repeat the setup process. I had rated earlier versions of the app 1 star because it was totally useless. It’s a lot better now, I haven’t had to set it up again in a few months. The interface design is clean but has some issues where there is not enough space to show the info—“design over functionality” unfortunately. For example it shows “Compress…” in the status. Does that conclude with “… running” or “… failed” or ? There’s tons of white space which is nice, but when you can’t actually read what you need, that’s a problem. It’s also much worse if I use a zoomed display mode or larger type options.."Frustrated" was already takenVersion: 6.0.3

Once I got it set up, it works greatConnecting the app to the thermostat would have been a lot easier if the instructions had said you CANNOT copy and paste your WiFi password into the app. You must enter your password manually. Nice updateEspecially like the vertical display of your HVAC units. Don’t have to scroll horizontally anymore, which was inconvenient. Useful, looks nicer, still has some gaps- It’s much nicer looking since the last update. Thanks! - I really wish it would tell you the current temperature in the tank. It will say the tank is “1/3rd full” of hot water. I’m presuming it’s entirely full, but partially heated. Please can I just see the temperature? - Regardless of when a notification was sent, it’s shown as having been received “some time ago,” which is odd. Room for Significant Improvement - A 2-Star ExperienceAs a user of the Ruud EcoNet app, I find myself compelled to express my disappointment, resulting in this two-star review. The lack of integration with Apple Home or HomeKit is a significant oversight in today’s smart home ecosystem. This missing feature diminishes the app’s utility and convenience, which is a substantial letdown for users invested in the Apple ecosystem. Furthermore, the transition from the older version of the app to the current one was poorly managed. There was a distinct absence of communication or a seamless update process. Many of us were left unaware of the new app’s existence until we faced functionality issues with the older version. This lack of foresight led to unnecessary inconvenience, as users had to independently search for and adapt to the new application. The decision to launch this as a completely new app, rather than an update to the existing one, resulted in a disconnection with the user base. I am open to revising my review to a full five stars, should these concerns be addressed in future updates. Does the basics, but…..This app delivers the basics pretty well: scheduling is well designed (provides up to 4 user-defined periods per day), and calculates daily energy consumption, which it reports by hour, day, week and month. But it falls short on multiple fronts: 1. Status is confusing - developers didn’t allow enough space to display a full description. 2. Hot water level is completely bogus and inconsistent. After showing “full” and system in standby, I drew one gallon to take a temperature measurement. It then reported 2/3rds full (for a 65 gallon tank). Many times the system is in standby, yet the indicator shows any where from “empty “ to 2/3rds full. Have learned to completely ignore, since regardless of what’s displayed we have yet to run out of hot water. 3. The hourly energy usage graph seems to display every other hour for the current day, but every hour is displayed for the previous day, suggesting it’s a programming error. I have reported these issues to the manufacturer over a week ago, but have yet to get any kind of a response. PS. The heater itself is amazing. The installed cost was about the same as to replace a failing oil fired heater, while it’s operating costs are about 1/4th the cost of oil - in a state with high energy costs !.Jeff (Boston)Version: 6.0.3

Yeah. Pretty Unstable.The app and the service is unreliable and unstable. Have 2 EcoNet thermostats. Yesterday,set the system to “Away” mode and upon return could not change to “Home” mode. Wasn’t able to make the change locally as the EcoNet IOT would immediately switch back to “Away” mode. In order to regain local control had to reset the WiFi to break the connectivity. Was then able to locally control thermostats. A few hours passed and reconnected EcoNet thermostats but remote control still unstable/ unreliable. This morning, unable to login. This seems to be a IOT server or authentication issue. It would be helpful if Ruud/ Raheem/ EcoNet provided some sort of status regarding system outages and expected recovery times..Ckhm1stVersion: 6.2.1

Slowly being improved, but still not good enoughOnce upon a time this app used to work much better and you were able to control most of the settings that the thermostat did. Then it was “improved” and became a shell of its former self… and it still is. If I knew you are locked into this app in order to control the unit, I would never have purchased a Ruud furnace. Can change the settings via the app.I have this app and it would appear to be working based on what the screen shows. When I go to adjust the temperature, it moves the dial to that temp, turns a white color for a few seconds and then reverts back to the original setting and color on the dial. Needs modernizationI just had a RUUD system installed and looked forward to using the app on my iPad. Unfortunately, and this is not noted in the description, it is only possible to use the app and connect on a 2.4 GHz wifi system. 5.0 has been out for years and since I have StarLink it seems the old 2.4 GHz choice is not even available. Lost my water heater, can’t find it.Improving the UI is all well and good, but losing essential functionality is not good at all. My water heater disappeared from the app. There is no apparent way to reconnect it. I’ve lost scheduling, which is really annoying. Looks like I need to call Ruud to get help with unraveling this. DOES NOT WORK, no control of water heater.Simply put, cannot control the Heat Pump water heater. The only item that does work is the temperature setting and tells you energy consumed. Nothing else works. You can set to Heat Pump, Off, and Vacation, but runs the same, using the resistive element ALL THE TIME. The water heater is becoming very expensive to run! Deceptive Advertising is what comes to mind. Saying one thing, but doing something else without you knowing. Rheem is a billion $$$$ company, either they are incredibly incompetent, or they are deceiving customer with illegal operation. AND Wi-Fi keeps dropping. Pitiful..Fun sapianVersion: 6.0.3

Doesn’t workI have tried everything app doesn’t work. It connects but never lets me control anything with my water heater. Good app lacks featuresIt’s a good app but lacks many features like Sensi app. This one lacks a timer of when HVAC turns on. Another thing is that some features on the thermostat are not available on the app and Sensi has everything equal on app and thermostat.(Eli85)Version: 6.1.1

Broken RegistrationAsks to enter a code sent to my mobile number, and the phone number is entered correctly, but no code is ever sent.
