5 Star app, but a problemI got this app last year around June or July, it was working completely fine. No problems or anything until recently a couple months ago. Everytime I try to open up the Auv3 extention on Garageband, it would always give me an error “Audio unit extention has quit” or something something like that. I even restarted my phone, it did not work. I even deleted and reinstalled the app hoping it would work, it only worked for a little bit, but unfortunately that wasn’t the solution. I tried smaller things such as opening the app before adding the extention on Garageband. No matter what I do, it doesn’t seem to work. Absolute Ingenious App!!I can't thank you enough for fulfilling this dream of mine to make music from my soul. I feel like I’m back in the 80’s!!! Amazing!!!When I heard that this app was being released, I had very high hopes for it. This app/synth did NOT disappoint. I’ve been working with it, for about two hours, and I’m hearing all of the sounds that I grew up with. (I was a teen, in the 80’s, and this was my music!) For instance, the preset “DX Bass 1’ is the exact bass, used for the song “Danger Zone”. As soon as you hear it, you’ll instantly recognize it. There’s just so many iconic sounds!!! Update firmware pleaseGlitch or bug in program where I’m unable to sync other applicators towards keyboard synthesizer. Before I had no issues in sharing applications simultaneously to create unique vibes or even samples. Crashes upon activation of program, not sure if program is equipped to work with other applicators or just only meant for specific ones when it comes to content creations. Aside from that it has been a great tool and add on for on-the-go use or just simply working from home. The extensive amount of features are overwhelming but in a good way. About the King of FM appI'm 71 years old and still own an original Yamaha DX7 which I occasionally use as a sound module with my MOXF8. I have installed this app on my iPad, connected it to my MOXF with a Roland UM-ONE, ran the Ipad 4 audio out back into the MOXF A/D in (using the MOXF's built-in effects routed to the A/D in), and disabled FM KING's effects (which slow midi response slightly) and now have a great Ipad sound module for layering the classic FM tines sound with my piano for live performance and recording. I love these synths!First off the sounds are just awesome! I am a former pro drummer, and hobby keyboard player. I am now back to making videos on an ipad using FCP! One of the best synths ever!I remember when I was first getting into GarageBand and I got this synth loaded into my DAW for the first time. I still don't believe that this is free! GarageBand iOS ProblemIf I have to be honest, I genuinely love this app. But there’s a huge problem that has made me want to pull every hair off of my scalp. Whenever I try to load up this app on GarageBand iOS, it refuses to load. And there’s a popup that gives two options; Reload or Disable. Reload doesn’t even work since when I press that option, it brings me back to the same popup no matter how many times I tap it and it really irks me. Not Working in GarageBand iOSI absolutely LOVE this app, I love all the presets and sounds on it and I wouldn’t change a thing on that. But a couple of days ago it just stopped working on GarageBand iOS and it ruined a lot of my tracks. I tried re installing king of fm and redownloading it and refreshing my phone but it still doesn’t load or make any sound on GarageBand. I Got My DX7 Back!Finally sold my DX7 a few years ago and regretted it. Bought it in 1985 or 86 - who can remember anything from back then? But Now! I have it back! Wonderful sounds from all the contributors plus highly usable sequences. Unwanted sustainI had been loving this synth. But suddenly it is now creating an obnoxious, unwanted sustain. After you play a little bit, this roaring sound builds up and even gets louder. It’s doing it on iPad and iPhone. Another clue that something is wrong is the read out for the tempo. As this unwanted sustain/noise carries on the temple number starts going up and down wildly. I didn't like it as much as my Roland D20, but I could appreciate the difference in type of sound FM mod made vs the PCM in the Roland. Now the sound is totally nostalgic! Samples?Being old enough to remember when FM was first released I honestly have to say that I was extremely disappointed when I loaded this app and found out that the entire app is a sample player of the sounds that can be make on the DX line of synthesizers… one of the best things about the DX synths was the ability to make your own crazy sound scapes and while the samples are of good quality I still find this app to be lacking the character and charm found in the DX… if you want to walk down memory lane than this app isn’t half bad… if you want to wrap your head around the fundamentals of programming FM synthesis than I would strongly suggest getting DX7v or Dexed as all the sound shaping parameters are there….
