Indeed Job Search App Comments & Reviews
Indeed Job Search Positive Reviews
Indeed is not for Job Seekers, It favors the Employers.I have been extremely disappointed with Indeed over the years and the hiring market in general. Indeed continually suggests jobs for me to apply to based on my “qualifications” (which according to Indeed range from a fry clerk at Taco Bell to a Project Manager for a Real Estate company). The worst part is that I have eventually applied for these jobs and am immediately rejected. It is extremely frustrating. Additionally, Indeed makes it nearly impossible to review employers based on interviews. I have had some of the worst interview experiences of my life because of employers from this app (discrimination, harassment, and unprofessionalism) and have many times attempted to leave reviews to warn others. When I go to the “my reviews” tab it shows nothing submitted. Indeed does not seem to aim at helping people find jobs but to make money off of employers who post on their job board and leach on those of us seeking - asking $89 for a resume review. Additionally, there seems to be no accountability on this app for employers either. I have applied to a ridiculous amount of jobs I am qualified for and have received real replies from hiring managers less than 5% of the time. I either find out I am not getting an interview when I check the list of jobs I’ve applied to and I see the red “x” or simply never hear anything ever. It completely unprofessional, especially coming from HR managers and hiring professionals to never follow up with applicants or at least send a generic auto reply to the Indeed Inbox. Furthermore, the app is frequently suggesting I reach out to these employers and “follow up if I haven’t heard anything” (showing statistics for job seekers who contact employers and their supposed rate of employment) and still get no responses. Truly, the whole system is broken and Indeed isn’t doing anything to help better the process whatsoever despite their time in the market..Version: 82.0
Trouble with the appI like this app and it’s really cool besides getting a bunch of emails but there’s something horrible wrong with this app that needs to be fixed. So when I get a notification it’ll leave a number on the app on how many notifications I got! So when I get on the app on the top right corner it has a bell. So I go to press it and look at my notifications which it shows me when I press the bell and to be honest it usually happens when I get a job match or a haven’t heard back yet. And it’s highlighted in blue on what I haven’t seen yet. So I press it and the job comes up then I disregard it if I don’t like it or I’ll fill out an application if I like it. But here’s the problem and what needs to be fixed. Once I’m done looking at the job I press the home button in the right corner or press the arrow on the left corner and it takes me back home. But I’ll still have a red dot on the bell so I’ll have to go back in look at the job and then go back home? But it still doesn’t get rid of the number on my apps nor does the red dot go away in the bell so I’ll have to keep going in and going home going in the bell looking at the notification then press the home button and it still doesn’t go away it takes forever to disappear and honestly it’s annoying please fix it. Once it’s read it should disappear but it doesn’t! I even have to do this process multiple times and still a red dot on my bell and a number on may app then after 10+ times or more it finally goes away please fix this issue and thanks.Version: 240.0
Great app, just hard to actually find a job.I’ve had the indeed app for probably over a year now and in my full, honest opinion I believe the app is great, helps you see all work around the area, but most of the job postings are low wage, high labor work. Even if you do have experience in a field you’re looking for work in the employers still only want the best quality candidates and this leaves no room for young people with not much or little work history. You’ll be constantly hoping to hear from a position you applied for whilst also applying for other jobs that you will never hear back from because a lot of the postings are not updated to let you know the position was taken. It almost seems like Indeed wants you to create a new work history through them to attain a better/higher paying job, So previous work history almost seems like it doesn’t matter. Employers say (preferred) but not require and then solely will deny you a job because you’re under-qualified. And then I’ve gotten job offers for things I’ve had 0 experience in and the only reason they will accept you is to pay you little to nothing because you have no experience. It’s all a long shot unless you live in a highly populated area where you can get a job on any city street or corner. As I said, the app is well designed and is a tremendously great idea. But if you are too young, or not much work history, or just plainly aren’t a perfect candidate then you may as well go apply at your local Walmart or gas station. 5/10.Version: 44.0
Why does Mc donalds post hiring ads but don’t hire in Bakersfield CA??!!??I’ve had this app for about almost 2 years now and out of thoes 2 years I’ve filled out over 100 applications literally because out here in Bakersfield CA. If your not working your not living period! Out of all thoes applications I was only hired once by a ranky danky medical marijuana dispensary which the job only lasted 4 months. Now I’m updating my review because as of right now Mc donalds is so called hiring big time right now. I filled out an application for every branch in the city, I finally get a interview at the restaurant on 19th and union ave, this was July 18th,2019 and I was told that the general manager (liliana) which was standing right at the counter and sent a team leader to give me the interview was going on a 3 week vacation and to follow up on my interview then. Today’s August 8th, 2019 (more than 3 weeks later) and when I try to call, at first I was told this Monday that liliana wasn’t there until 3:00..I called at 3pm sharp with no answer of the phone after numerous attempts, that was Monday, and Tuesday & Wednesday the restaurants phone stayed on busy tone the whole day. Today’s Thursday and when I get on indeed This morning a brand new post from the same restaurant for the same position that I applied for weeks ago are hiring for the same position. Why are they posting ads still when they haven’t even got back in touch with the interviewees that were interviewed with me. I’ve contacted Mc donalds corporate and more in regards to this..Version: 20.0
Frustrating (because of the app)The job market is really difficult right now. Places around me dont seem to be hiring anyone in my field despite the fact that ‘tons of new jobs’ would be open. Thats not why the app is bad. The app is bad because of two reasons. 1.Lack of ability to focus, and 2.Inability to teach employers how the app works. I do not want to have a hour commute. I want jobs related to me and not to dentistry or something. But no matter one, scattered amongst my searches, intermingled in, will be jobs that are a hefty distance away or jobs that require a PHD i have never obtained and will never obtain. Its especially infuriating when you consider that I put in exact specifications for my location, the distance I am willing to drive, and my skills. It doesn’t make things better that employers dont know how to use the app. If you have a need for a specific skill, have that be placed into the skills section and NOT the description. Maybe I wouldve taken that desk job if it didnt require, you know, a degree in dentistry? Overall, the app is just infuriating and it makes me not want to open it whatsoever. I understand implementing searches that are farther away when you scroll through the others and cant find a good one nearby, but really? The second result? When the third is closer? It needs to be changed..Version: 308.0
Hit or missIndeed has been good to me for so many years, even before an app was available when needing a job. However the last few years Indeed has lost some of that steam. Don’t get me wrong it’s still great but as I mentioned the last few years it’s been lacking that steam. For example, I’ve submitted my resume to multiple companies and I get the email that “the employer has moved on” message. One day I was curious so I went to the website directly and submitted my resume and I got a call back within a day. During the interview I mentioned to them that I submitted my resume through indeed and the email I got after about a week was you found another candidate. They told me that indeed pulls the job description a lot of times but they tend to look at emails from their site first before indeed and when they hire someone they remove the posting, thus you get the email probably from indeed. Since I’m not HR I can only go by what they told me but that could vary depending on employer and how big or small the company is. Indeed is good for resume building and the ability to save it in pdf and print it out if need be so that’s a huge plus. I really enjoy indeed and I won’t leave it, but for more bigger companies I would recommend just taking the time to submit your application on the job site. I know some people don’t have easy access to computers to do that and indeed is a great alternative for those that don’t have a computer or fancy smart phone. I would recommend if you see a bigger company listing on indeed, instead of applying through indeed if you can, just go to the company website. It will go to their Corp HR oppose to possibly getting lost in a flood of emails to the local HR..Version: 66.0
Could be betterI have major privacy concerns with this app. Despite having done my part in app to secure whatever information I can- I still get texts messages from illegitimate “employers” with “job offers”. NO LEGITIMATE employers are going send you texts like “We saw your resume on Indeed blah blah blah click this link to apply” Clicking that link is a good way to forfeit sensitive information from your mobile device. My information via résumé should only be visible to the jobs that I’m applying to! PERIOD. Despite trying to put as much on private as I can through your app, I still get these text. Which has lead me to believe that it’s likely very easy for illegitimate individuals to create employer accounts. No legitimate employer is going to be so informal! That’s a RED FLAG! The other thing you guys should be aware of any job listing that is “commission only” or “appointment-based only”? Those are NOT in any way shape or form legitimate employers. What they are is scams. If a listing doesn’t offer an hourly wage? IT’s a SCAM. That is just an opportunist looking to make money off of the people in a bind. Who are unsuspecting & none the wiser. Filter those out of your listings IMMEDIATELY! I hope you take the information I have given you & IMPROVE the user experience. DO BETTER!.Version: 161.0
Lots of Fake JobsI have used Indeed for a few years now and recently there have been a LOT of fake jobs on there. I don't know what happened or if they don't do any sort of confirmation to make sure listings are legit, but the scammers are getting more and more convincing the more they are able to use Indeed. So many people's financial information has been stolen and I received a fake job offer that had legitimate employment documentation where you put your SSN, bank information, fill out the W-2 forms, just all the information they could possibly need to steal someone's identity. I was able to confirm the offer was false, because I contacted the company directly. Obviously, this isn't completely Indeed's fault, but maybe some kind of verification should be required to ensure these are legit. They need to work on getting these imposters off this app. It is hard enough for people to find work without evil people giving them false hope with fake jobs and then stealing their money. If I hadn't already been through the ringer with this stuff and I hadn't noticed the little red flags I've seen before I may have fallen victim to the same scam..Version: 213.0
Not what it used to be!Only rating it so people who search five stars can really read it. It seems now a days employers are creating fake job postings to gather data. They won’t even answer or have a position open they just repost to seem as if they are a growing company but never hire. Do not take my word for it do your own research it’s out there semi being suppress but it’s out there. Indeed won’t do anything about it neither will its sister app Glassdoor, it seems it’s all the hiring apps or websites are doing this to an extent. What a shame I’m struggling to find a job I hate unemployment it’s degrading yet I can’t get a simple email or call back. I don’t know what will happen but I hope to find something soon, just keep that in mind if you decide to walk out without having something in your back pocket jobs don’t care for you so just do what you get paid for and don’t ever over work your self and get out to something else..Version: 192.0
Ok app to use just needs more improvements and actual results for employment. This app sometimes can land you a job other times it doesn’t of course many times I’ve applied and get no responses and that’s been pretty normal lately and it’s frustrating. As for the app itself it’s easy to use so there isn’t really much complications. Though I will say one thing I don’t like about it is that if I am uninterested in a specific field of industry for example Medical field, instead of showing less of those jobs it will increase the amount instead of decreasing the amount of those positions. Which of course with me I am one who is uninterested in the medical profession only by my personal preference and instead I get tons of those offers. Otherwise there have been too many “Ghost” jobs which in hindsight I could apply for the position and have absolutely nothing still No Responses No viewing it’s almost like the job doesn’t exist. If those can be reviewed and if not taken off that will be some start otherwise it’s not overall bad just some states are very picky on how they want to hire people..Version: 295.0
Why I gave the rating I didI really like Indeed, I think there are areas that like any company can use improvement., I think that it could use some additional human oversight, I feel it is becoming to automated and canceling the job seeker out before they have a chance to explain themselves like regarding licensing of someone’s license just expired that shouldn’t prevent the applicant from interviewing because many times it is very simple to renew your license so, but why renew it if you can’t even apply to the jobs that would make the person want to spend the time or money to renew many times you need to have a sponsoring business sponsor you but if you don’t work for a company presently your not going to have a sponsor, yes there are ways around having a sponsor but I think it’s better to be honest when applying and most companys know this but indeed doesn’t for some reason it’s little nuances like that that made me give it a 3 star, other than those things I think it’s a great site, I’ve even tried applying because of my experience in multiple fields but alas no call back..Version: 269.1
Would much rather go to a job in person than use this systemI have had this app for many, many years and have applied to a ridiculous amount of jobs/companies and maybe got a response/call back twice in the time I’ve been using this. I have even tried the same company on two or three different occasions and I know I have enough experience and knowledge to be qualified to fit that position. I think that maybe 10% of the jobs in my searches are actually legit and available and the rest are all scammers and advertising. I honestly think that a lot of employers out there are overlooking the good job candidates and accepting the bad ones. And I think that a lot of places hire because of age and only want younger workers. It’s so frustrating. I have given up so many times and then come back again to see if anything has changed but it’s still just the same. Also, when I serve for specific fields to narrow down my search, it gives me a list a mile long with jobs that I have no knowledge of or worked in before. I am truly disappointed..Version: 274.0
So Thankful 🙏🏼I am so thankful for this app and the access it offers to finding potential jobs! Everything about this app is easy to navigate, understand, and allows you to create a professional level resume with step by step prompts. I feel as though the personal assessments are a wonderful addition/asset for employers looking for qualified candidates. The simplicity of the resume creation process truly allows you to include everything you want an employer to know. You can provide as much or as little as you’d like, and in turn give the people looking to hire many factors to use for selecting the job seekers they are interested in. I just cannot praise this app enough, and am so immensely thankfully that it is free.... Especially seeing as the people who are utilizing the app are primarily unemployed and more than likely not toting around a whole lot of money to spend on paid apps. HaHa! So again, all my praises, and thank you, thank you, thank you! Please keep up the amazing work!.Version: 36.0
OkayI really hate that nothing is done about rude employers who message you then never message you back or they give you very little info on the job and is mad if you ask for info instead of just starting without knowing pay or any general knowledge referring to. Everything else including applying for jobs is simple and cool except how they let employers walk all over you before getting employed (not all employers on here but alot). I also hate that employers have the option to take a job down when they find someone but they keep it up for months then treat the person calling about it as if there is something wrong with them for calling about it when they never took the job down!!! Bottom line the app works great yea it’s easy to apply I’m just over here trying to express how badly employees and people hiring are getting treated and it feels like indeed isn’t even on the day to day workers side!! PS indeed please crack down on employers that treat users unprofessionally with job employment we are all trying to live and make money to survive!!.Version: 267.0
Waste of timeFirst off I’d like to say that I’ve been on indeed for about 1 year now, just looking to see if I can catch any company or agencies attention. With that being said I've been unemployed now for almost 3 and a half months and I’m completely unsatisfied with the app. I get two minute calls from agencies and employers trying to get me on board saying they took a brief look at my resume and are interested in my persona, but I almost never hear back from them. I’ve been waiting for 4 companies two of those with agencies and I’m near the end of losing my mind. There should be a company policy or something that enforces the employers and agencies to respond within a week two weeks tops. I need answers from these companies and I’m tired of getting strung along and given a sense of false hope. Like I said earlier it’s been 3 months now and there needs to be Change. I know lots of folks as well that don’t have any luck with this app either. It’s an epidemic 👎..Version: 22.0
At your own riskUse at your own risk genuinely I mean that be aware that you will probably never hear back from anyone beware of the constant ghost applications be aware that it will push jobs that are not within your qualifications and pushed nursing jobs and it will filter any job that you’d actually want and pushes what indeed wants. It’s not a scam because you’d have to lose something the only thing you will lose is patience and your mind. If you see a position available apply directly on their website never use indeed. The people who have luck on this app are people with heavy heavy schooling like nursing dental and other like occupations. This app will leave you feeling unless and like the world is 100% against you because it is. Glassdoor is an indeed extension and it does the same thing. Please use at your own risk and I wish you the best of luck in finding a job..Version: 304.0
Cool job search engine to find real jobs but there are so many fake ghosting jobsI have been using this app for over 3 years now for job searches and have found most of the real jobs that come from real employers who have sent me real job offers vs fake employers(scammers) who have sent out fake jobs that I have reported to Indeed at least a couple of times but those ones but they are still there but I ignore them because eventually they will be taken down automatically. Maybe indeed should hire me as their job fraud investigator since I have searched these fake jobs so many times and found out that either there are none of those jobs available on their website which means that they are really not hiring at the moment. But still I would recommend still using them or any other job search engines like LinkedIn or Glassdoor. But please Indeed stop posting up some fake jobs that you know that nobody is gonna want!!.Version: 240.0
I have a complaintThis is from my own personal opinion and experience that I’ve had so far from this website. The first interview I had from a local company in my hometown never made me feel more embarrassed and humiliated then any other potential employer I ever had an interview with in my entire life. He insisted that I needed to get help with my mental health right away or immediately before he could ever hire me on to his company. For a part time cleaning job I mean wow that’s just ridiculous and to most of these people I’m more considered to being a “High Risk Employee” meaning that I would just leave without notice, treat other employees like dirt, and make up these excuses for not showing up to my scheduled shift that I’m supposed to be working when I really don’t have to be there for a $10 an hour job. Since nobody literally wants to work for that amount anymore since it’s a new year and new time to get paid for more then what “your job” pays you for now..Version: 38.0
Silver LiningI’m a young 65 year old who unfortunately has not had an easy time finding a job. The reason for my still being OOW is for the most part due to insurmountable debts after my spouse passed away, leaving my credit less than desirable. ( I understand.) However, these days, when you must agree to the “terms and conditions” of an application, it inevitably leads to access to your credit score. As someone with over 30 years office experience, I can tell you first hand that low credit does not bode well... However and on a better note. Those times when I’m perhaps at my lowest and ready to give up (again) there is my proverbial Silver Lining that is “Indeed”. It’s been over 3 years (albeit off and on during the times that I do give up for a while). But when I come back to continue trying, they are there for me again! Once again with more opportunities than I could possibly ever find on my own! Diligence is an understatement within Indeed and I often found myself wishing as much for them as for me that one of the job opportunities they provide me with will work out one if these days. On a personal note to Indeed. It is safe to say that this review speaks of things never shared with your office. That being said, I want to extend my sincere thanks for you professionalism and your non wavering tenacity. Thank you, thank you. I would recommend Indeed anytime. I still may be without a job but through NO fault of theirs. So to anyone who may be reading this review. If you are looking for an Employment Agency who cares about finding you that job as much as you do... you found it! Donna Cuffari.Version: 27.0
Job searching and applyingIndeed provided a wide range of assistant services when looking for relevant job postings and in assistance in applying & submitting applications for jobs. This eases some of the stress from those that are job seeking in this very uniquely fast paced changing, & competitive job market of today's world that requires a lot of specific tailored detail & significant chunks of time from job seekers. When In comparison and consideration of the quality of services offered & provided, the relevance, the ease in accessibility, the information, & assistant services offered to other similar job seeking platforms I rate Indeed at the top of its kind, & is high quality. In addition, unlike similar platforms that provide alike services, Indeed ask for very minimal or more often than not, no cost to the people utilizing their assistance & other services. Without hesitation I highly recommend Indeed!.Version: 290.0
