It’s great for school but it has its flawsI love the app because you can always unmute or mute yourself when you want or don’t want to talk. And you can also share your screen so students can learn and see what your doing it’s AMAZING and I love it . One thing I DONT love about the app is that sometimes the host mutes or unmutes me when I have background noise or anything distracting to my working time. I have limited space In my home and there is only but so many places to go. I of course know she doesn’t know I have noise in the background but sometimes I do and she forgets that when I tell her. So sometimes I wish the teacher didn’t have ALL the power when it comes to zoom. I DONT like being unmuted without my control or permission. At least if I get off mute by myself I have time to tell my family to be quiet so I can talk. Another thing is at random times the app glitches. I’ll try to get myself off mute and it would glitch. Or when I’m trying to copy work that’s shared on the screen from the teacher it glitches and then I can’t see what’s she’s doing on the screen. You might not get what I mean by glitching so let me explain better. It goes in and out it turns black then back to the shared screen and it continues it for like about 30 seconds but In those 30 seconds I miss a lot. Especially with my teachers they write ALOT in like 1 second. 😂😂. 10 Stars - Zoom coped with COVID demand - incredible achievement!These folks continue to be the main way people contact each other, have family meetings as well as business and school. They have contributed so much to the fabric of our daily lives through reliable, accessible service. Zoom works so well that we actually have to remind ourselves that any device can use it with any internet provider and any operating system. These folks are heroes in my book. Thank you, Zoom. Earlier review - We need to recognize that this corporation managed to expand its app to meet the sudden demand that emergency COVID quarantines created. How many groups could have met and sustained services with that kind of increased demand? I believe part of that was done with leasing bandwidth from other web entities but think of the huge increases in exspenses,staffing, especially technical support. They changed our history - what would the COVID quarantine have been like without all the business meetings, family conversations, ability to see and talk to our doctors and COVID-infected people? What about all the legislation, worldwide infrastructure and services that were able to go forward aided by Zoom? Yes, Zoom has become a part of our daily lives and it’s easy to take Zoom for granted. So goodIt’s honestly amazing me and my friends like to chat and some of my friends don’t have a phone yet but the do have an iPad and this is the best way for us to chat lol we have other apps but we prefer this app because it’s so easy to turn off ur camera and mute yourself and the best thing is instead of showing people all your pictures while finding one All you have to do is press your picture and that’s the only thing it’ll show! I also love how you can make your own group and make someone admin delete someone from the group and add!!!😃also when your in a meeting you can chat on there that’s cool 😎 the last thing I love is that it asks you what you want before you even join the meeting like for example if u don’t wanna show you face because it’s a mess you just have to press the button and when u join it’ll already be off that way you don’t have to hide from the camera while turning it off! Some things I would like for you to add is that maybe when people are in the waiting room and u text a chat they can chat back and chat with other people that are in the waiting room. Another thing I’d like is that maybe you can let us choose and background that way the background for the “you are in the waiting room” thingy won’t be boring! Lastly I would like for zoom is that when ur playing a game with your friends everyone can share their screen but it’ll appear on their uh zoom box thing that way we can all play good! But just to be ok with it you should make a button for that like a button that says “ask everyone in this meeting for permission to share their screen?” And then u can press it and they can press yes or no😊that’s all for now! I also have a request, could you add a waving emoji or GIF or indicator so that a participant can show/indicate that they are going to leave the meeting? (I always feel a bit awkward to wave onscreen, and other people have also voiced that they feel disinclined to wave for the reason of awkwardness). Some people have experienced video and audio quality issues sometimes (may be due to Internet connection, but sometimes it’s an unknown reason), so I’m not sure if there is a way to fix that. When I shrink the Zoom window (in app not browser) and click on the Chat feature, the Chat immediately pops out and attaches to the outer side of the window (instead of popping up in the center or somewhere else that doesn’t extend out from the Zoom window—I usually have the Zoom window and another window open side-by-side, so I tend to feel frustrated that I have to move the Zoom window back into its original position after opening the Chat. I, personally, do not prefer using mobile app—I much prefer the computer app because more screens can be seen on the device’s screen at a time (if you have many participants). I also enjoy using the Beta video effects feature (changes eyebrows, adds facial hair, changes lip color). I constantly use the double-click shortcut for computer to go from full-size window to small/regular/customized size, thank goodness for that! It’s a great app , but..Zoom is a great tool I used to study with friends, video chat, etc. and used to absolutely love it. It works great with SMS and provides a great alternative to facetime for those that don’t have it. However, the app added ridiculous time limits to meetings and it has gotten to a point where I can no longer use the app productively. They originally only had a 45 minute time limit on group meetings, so once the 45 minutes were over, you’d have to create a new meeting and resend the link. They then continued to add that same limit to one on one meetings which got slightly irritating as it would cut out and I would have to create a new meeting over and over again. While I thought this got irritating at times, the app was still functional so I continued to use it regardless. Recently however, they came out with a new update where you must wait 10 minutes after your meeting ends to start a new one. While I understand that they may want people to purchase premium, it has gotten to a point where you cannot even use the free version of the app functionally. The limits have gotten unbearable and there are many other FREE video chatting apps that perform a similar function. As a college student on a tight budget I simply cannot afford to pay for the premium version of Zoom and am absolutely devastated to have to let go of this previously amazing study tool..PrishaparkerVersion: 5.15.5

Zoom is awesomeHi there! I was reading the comments and reviews the other day, and I was so surprised by what everyone was saying. I mean to say is ppl rated zoom by only 1 star when it deserves 1 MILLION stars!!!!!!! I absolutely LOVE this app! Creating a waiting room was a brilliant idea and sharing screen is also brilliant!!! Me and my friends use zoom very often during the pandemic, we often lock the meeting so to those who had unwelcoming guest put a waiting room and lock the meeting. I know everyone has different experiences but I believe zoom is what so ever amazing !!!! Keep it up!! One thing I wanna say is I want to be able to request to the host to be unmuted, like when the host mutes everyone and I would like to say something and be unmuted, I would like to simply press a button that is called ‘request unmute’ and on the host’s screen a something pops up that says I wanna be unmuted. Scheduling is messed upWhen scheduling a new repeating meeting scheduled for a date other than the date you're setting it up it will not reflect that once the meeting is confirmed. For example, today is Monday the 25th at 1 PM but you want a repeating meeting each Friday. You schedule it for Friday the 29th at 2 PM for one hour and you choose repeats weekly. You confirm and add it, you add it to your eye calendar, you go back into Zoom to invite folks and when you go to edit the meeting you noticed that it is for today Monday the 25th at 1 PM. You check your eye calendar and you see both a 1 PM for Monday the 25th repeating weekly and a repeating 2 PM for Friday the 29th repeating weekly. Then when you sent out invites to folks and the invite populates their eye calendar it gives them the completely wrong and misleading and confusing info. Not sure if others are experiencing this but it's very frustrating and it doesn't look professional when you send out these confusing invites. Then I have to go into my eye calendar and delete the repeating meeting that began on Monday the 25th at 1 PM. Pretty useful but need to be more controlled by usersFor “everyday” practical purpose, it is fine. But there are few things that I would like to see. One is more “set up” feature like allow me to remove “pin” whatever it is. Also allow me to alert the host the problems quickly without have to look through the list of “participants” just today, I discover the glitch which somehow didn’t switch the view to activate participant screen on time it always delayed until someone else decided to participate the meeting. Maybe it is due to Apple, Inc just upgrade my ipad that cause some glitch. I don’t know for sure. It just happen today, in the past it went fine. Also look like there is mid-level curve-learning. And for some reason, I couldn’t consult the instruction manual to help me to figure how the Zoom app work. Update information: there is something wrong with the app in dealing with “spotlight”. It used to be work great till last week where the appear of spotlight always “late” when the participant finished his or her saying for the zoom meeting. It seems to me it only affect iPad users. It’s A Need To KnowYou know how you purchase a needed product and it arrives with an instruction manual in the box? I really appreciate having that hands-on reference! Is there some sensible step by step resource for understanding the how-to in the full function use for ZOOM Workplace? Not just the AI - I tried that “I can’t help you as I don’t have access to your account”(which is good) and I was instructed to a few “try this” examples which I had to take a screenshot of because AI disappeared once I went to my apps homepage. 😳 I had one simple question at the time and true, I am not even close to top tier tech savvy, how do I tell, if I’m attending a class meeting if my camera/video is showing me (still in pj’s) or if it’s just my uploaded photo - which is currently the primary preference? ⚠️¡Please Read!⚠️Software Problems💻, Money 💴, and Lagginess and Glitches.Very cool and very efficient for my meetings, but if you don’t have an account and you’re hosting a free meeting, you only have 40 minutes and when your time is up, without warning they kick everyone out of the meeting and nobody knows what happened. When a person opens a “breakout room” and another person tries to join, sometimes it will just load and load and nothing will happen. I want to take into account the Wi-Fi. Whenever these problems occur, I know to most likely blame the connection, but 90 percent of the time, Wi-Fi is just fine and it is the software connection. Sometimes, randomly the meeting will kick the host out and no problems occur with host’s internet connection. Pricing plans are out of this world, and I don’t understand cost-wise. I understand the program is expensive, but when income slows, I’m not paying as much as I am now. Zoom is ok for now, but I’d like somebody to take into account what I am saying. Updated: Continually needs deleted/reinstalled on iPad ProUpdated review Sept. 5, 2020: I have figured out a workaround to my problem. This app does not handle “Sign in with Google” well when a corporate account is being used. The workaround is to remember to SIGN OUT of the app before you close it, then the next time the app is opened you go through the two-step sign in process again. The app always asks for permission to sign in with Google, so I’m thinking this is what the app is not handling correctly? Can’t the app be made to remember the prior authorization(s) when opened? -1 star for this inconvenience. — Two stars because it works as hoped when it works. New 2020 iPad Pro 12.9”, bought for use with teaching this fall and Zoom support. App will only work when first installed from App Store and signed into my district account. Meadow S best friends with Lilly WI think that zoom is great. Especially the new software update where you can for example have a slice of pizza on top of your head. Or 3-D goggles that aren’t really there but it is just a filter. You can also have a red and white checkered pattern bow on top of your head and you can have a shark mouth. It is really cool. I only have one complaint about zoom. When I try to do a virtual background, my face goes into the background. What I mean by that is when I had a solid purple background, my face was just a purple blob. You could still see my hair but you couldn’t see my face and the details. I do appreciate zoom and how it has helped us in the viciously boring corona pandemic. I think zoom and Bing it it is awesome. I also want you to understand if you are reading this review is that you can only have the pizza slice on top of your head and the red and white bow if you have the latest Apple software update on your iPad. iOS 14 or something like that. Fast & easyHad an app developer for a different app set up a video call time to ask opinions on a new service coming about one of my medical conditions. I hadn’t even heard of Zoom before, but when FT didn’t work, I quickly downloaded Zoom & it took zero time for us to be able to view each other’s screens, which was more imperative for her, but her being able to share screens with me that were still in development was extremely easy! Once I figured out to unmute her (a default setting, at least in my case), it was so easy to use, I didn’t need a tutorial or anything! It was a last minute, phone hook-up problem that I didn’t take time to read about the app or even see if a tutorial was there (I’m sure there is). So VERY easy to use, point & click & I was able to complete helping them, they being in Singapore & myself in eastern USA! I cannot find the words to express how grateful I am…I am the survivor of an attempted murder by an active shooter. I now live with one bullet in my back and many pieces of shrapnel in my chest that require monthly doctors visits. This application has made this task so much easier and I cannot find the words to express how grateful I am. I live on a very fixed income and would not be able to afford this platform. The fact that I am able to access this without having to pay is so very generous. 5 star rating as this application has been easy to use and reliable….every time. Zoom A Great ExperienceMy Zoom experience has been very good for me, and I’m happy to have been able to use zoom because I live in a rural area. I don’t have to drive over an hour away to my appointment. I can visit with my physician over zoom. Zoom is a great application to help you navigate through your own personal experience with your physicians on a personal level without having any interruption. You can actually visually see your doctor, and experience a true professional medical approach to your appointment. I use zoom most of the time as it is more efficient for me, and also provides me with the opportunity to be able to see my providers at home. Being a person who has disabilities, it is very difficult for me at times to get around ,so zoom meetings are very important. Amzing! Suggestions thoughThis app is amazing! We use it for school, and it was my Grandma’s Birthday, So that was really cool we could talk to each other during this really hard time. I Have a few suggestions on how to make the app better though, when ever we share screens, my brother tends to draw and scribble all over it, is there a way you can add a “ Disable Drawing” button or something? Zoom has perks but one flaw or maybe twoOk so I’m not sure if my review came listed so I’ll try again in case it does not show so here we go I got zoom a while ago I was introduced to it and I liked and plus used it for when I had meetings with my job coach and when Covid-19 messed up family gatherings and visit and caused a lockdown so I introduced my brother to it and he uses it same for my friend Matthew and there is a few flaws in the way one of them is the call meeting limit for those that don’t have the whole zoom plan and apparently I am not pleased with having to make new rooms over and over again everytime it’s close to the limit waste of my time second is I want to find the option to go to the full plan on the mobile app but where is it???? I can’t seem to find it at all please for the love of god add it to make life easier for mobile users that would be a big help. Thank you!Zoom has been a life saver for me during the stay at home order. Your video platform has allowed me to continue working from home, supporting teachers and students in our transition to remote learning. It has also kept me connected with friends and family. My brother has special needs and my parents are currently his caregivers due to regulations at his supported living home. He has had a very hard time the last several weeks because he just cannot comprehend why we have to stay away from other people right now. He misses his day program, his roommates, his bowling league, and even doctor appointments, not to mention our very large family gatherings. I created a schedule of daily Zoom sessions in a Google document with a recurring meeting Zoom link and shared it with family and friends, who use the document to sign up for times. Family ReunionMy cousin had the most wonderful idea! She asked all of our very small family - her mother, her two brothers, their wives and grown children - and her one aunt who happens to be my mother. My mom asked me, my twin sister and our grown children to also be a part of the zoom phone call. All together 11 out of 18 people were able to participate. The others were working. It was so much fun and such a joy to see my cousin Abby, the cousin whose brainstorm it was in the first place. We see each other once a year, if that and we always really love our time together. Today was so special. In this time of isolation from everything we know on a daily basis, our coworkers, our friends, our neighbors, our trainers, our grocers, our cleaners, our housekeepers, our landscapers, the people in our life that we take for granted that we will see every day, it was such a comfort to see our real and actual family. I stay on for most of them all night. I feel very lonely. I live alone and have ptsd. I know I am not supposed to fear. I did my steps. I do meditation and other tools that Teco taught me. Being with you all stops my fear that someone will come in my apartment and attack me. After I am done with your meeting I feel back to safety. I don’t know what I would of done with out you. Love it but Fix it please!!I love how easy it is to use and its been a lifesaver for families and businesses during these difficult COVID days. However, I just used it on my computer this morning and it was fine. After my call, it said there was an update so I downloaded it and then tried to use it again this afternoon for another meeting and it wouldn’t give the sound!! What happened?! Overall, its truly been a great tool for our social distancing and perhaps it will be used more now that people are used to it. It is very easy to use, even for those who are technologically challenged. I ended up using my iPad for the afternoon meeting but had wanted to use my laptop so I could see everyone and on one page. With the iPad, you have to swipe to see whomever you can’t see from the first page of 9, but it is a little disconcerting because you always see 9 people on a page; not 9 on the first page and then the remaining on the next page, which I would prefer. Awesome...but, it has some disadvantages...It is a very useful app for online classes and work from home. I use it for virtual school since were all in quarantine and I like the idea that there’s a host and the host can control everyone (it is a very useful thing for the teachers). I also like the virtual backgrounds ,the raising hands and all the little things you can use while your in a meeting. I also use it to make group chats with my friends and its really fun! I really recommend this app...but, there are some disadvantages. Sometimes it lags horribly and no one can understand anything the person who is talking saying. There is also a lot of background noise if the person who is talking has a lot going on at home. Great App! Would recommend it to anyone.I have been using this app for a few months now. I’ve been looking at one star reviews, and I noticed some of these may not be the app, but the personal device or internet the person is using. It works on many platforms, so it really doesn’t limit you when it comes to accessibility. The chat you can use during meetings works amazingly well, and the app allows you to privately chat with one individual person. If you’re the host and you don’t want people privately chatting with each other, you can turn that off in the chat so that all messages are sent to everyone. The only thing I personally don’t like is the time limit. Other than that one thing, the app is great if you run a club or just want to chat with friends. Zoom also allows you to have a password set so that random people can’t put random codes in and join the meeting. Still not great..It’s hard for me to believe that after a year of everything being online, the leading video meeting platform still has some glaring issues on iPhone. The biggest issue I have is the fact that you can’t hear someone’s shared screen audio unless you are looking at their screen. If you swipe to look at 3 faces at a time (another limitation that doesn’t make sense to me - there should be an option to see more people in smaller boxes), the sound of the share cuts out. If you swipe into safe driving mode, the sound cuts out. Pull down your notification center or control center, look at your home screen, lock the phone, everything causes the sound to cut out until you return to look at the screen share. Zoom has been fantastic to “meet in person” during this challenging timeMy husband and I lead a weekly Small Group Bible Study in our home. When the stay at home was put in place we did not meet for two weeks and so missed the study, fellowship, and “seeing” everyone! Zoom has been a wonderful way to meet each week! Better on computer for health care providerI am a healthcare provider, but unique, I am not just talking to people, they have to interact. The zoom app on my iPad Pro is ideal for “telehealth therapy or teaching/consulting purposes,” and the price is so “far” unbeatable. Much better than my EMR, which does not allow fo screen share, keyboard control…etc…and was $150 PER MONTH. A Paid and with BAA contract, zoom for health care providers is perfect and the ANNUAL rate cannot at all be considered “competition” for my EMR, but it is preferred “by others” that it all stay in the same location. When my MacBook stopped charging, I moved to using the application for “therapy, consulting, and psych education” on my iPad Pro and it is NOT THE SAME. I prefer Apple over Microsoft for my zoom meetings that are not “testing,” because of how I can interact and it is accessible and patients typically have a zoom account after covid, and it is relatively user friendly for THEM, because I have to work with people of all abilities. Great overall, but ...I would have had difficulty getting through the pandemic without Zoom. Overall, it works great! However, for VoiceOver users such as me, there are now a few glitches. When I first began using Zoom about a year ago, I was able to do such things as enter a screen name, use the Chat feature, and use the Q&A feature, without major difficulty. Now, however, there are some major glitches in this app when using VoiceOver. When typing a screen name, extra letters and other characters sometimes appear, even when Slide to Type is turned off. When one needs to edit the screen name, or any other similar item, the Delete button doesn’t work; and also, one cannot edit this item using text selection, cut, paste, etc. also, it doesn’t telll us where the insertion point is—a crucial bit of information for editing. Finally, if the screen name or other entry is a hopeless mess, there is no “Clear Text” option. It’s a similar situation in Chat and in Q&A. Editing your message is next to impossible, and very frustrating. And, all of this for an _experienced iPhone user who does a lot of typing on the iPhone. It’s even more frustrating for those who are new to typing on an iPhone. Please fix, before some of us get so stressed out that we have heart attacks! Update: The Chat and Q&A features are working much better now for VoiceOver users, but entering a screen name is still a nightmare. The insertion point still doesn’t move from the end of the line to the beginning when one does the gesture that is supposed to do that. It is a great app overall but it is glitching badly..It is an amazing app that I use with my friends and family. But there is two problems I am going to discuss and/or need fixing. First off, when the other person is sharing their screen, the screen they are sharing is very glitchy and choppy. That could use some fixing. Secondly, I tried to share my screen but it wouldn’t allow me to so I kind of gave up and went on talking. When I ended the call and went on with my business, this notification that said “Live broadcast to zoom has stopped due to: Attempted to start an invalid broadcast session” every where I clicked. But it’s ok because I’m sure that my loved ones across the world who are on complete opposite time zone don’t mind waiting a pointless 10 mins at 3am for me to call back because the only time I was able to call them was at 2pm( Thailand is 11 hrs ahead of us). It’s only a matter of time before the courthouses decide to switch up if zoom doesn’t stop thinking about trying to force us into buying a premium acct and start applying features that make us want to use it more because it’s easier and less of a hassle than the competition. Lots of things need to be updatedUpdate: app is complete trash and customer service are awful. I hate that this became popular and I am forced to use it. All of the other video conference apps like Discord, Google, etc. are infinitely better. Awful whiteboard and annotate options too. I hate zoom so much. It’s OkThis service has worked relatively well since we started using it but there has been times calls have glitched and audio has for some people has become out of sync and dropped completely, but usually good. I do wish audio and video quality was in general better especially for those with better connections. However, my biggest gripes are a couple missing features that really should be added. The first one is obvious: when sharing videos for meetings, instead of being forced to rely on screen sharing, a host should be able to put a link to a video or drag a video to be viewed during a meeting. And it should emulate a real meeting so the video fades in and out so it just doesn't look sloppy. My second suggestion might be less obvious but I think you can agree is necessary: enable a 3D mode. Sometimes before and after a meeting, people want to talk to each other INDIVIDUALLY like they would in person, but currently, all people can do is shout to the whole group or else just go to a breakout room. But there's a better way; in 3D mode people can walk up to each like in RL or a video game and other people become quieter as they get further and people can have real conversations with individuals. And during a meeting, a person can actually walk to the stage to be a speaker. And what's great is there actually isn't that much work you'd need to do, just make a few simple settings like a conference room or arena and design the interface switch and that's about it. Extremely Hard to Reach.Hi. My name is Savanah Clark, my best friend, father, and now sadly, my angel in heaven, just recently passed away, very suddenly, from Covid-19 on September 13th of this Month… I had been receiving an unnecessary and abundant amount of emails from “ZoomMeetings” which I had 1. Never signed up to receive emails from, and 2. Had unsubscribed to these emails a good few times that I can remember in the past few weeks..( everything has been a blur for me since I lost my dad) Anyways, had finally got fed up with having to constantly clear a ridiculous amount of emails from Zoom off my feed, while also reading thru emails from the funeral home we used to plan my fathers funeral as well…. Not a big deal, just asked to be unsubscribed, and explained my current situation, right? Wrong. First 2 email addresses I sent my inquiry to, bounced back as “not received” because I couldn’t reply to those addresses. Spent well over 30 mins on their website looking for a valid email, spoke to their chat bot, just to get absolutely no further into my investigation than I was before. Finally, by the grace of God, found a valid email address. And at this point I’m just done with zoom and their “team” Lol some team… told them I was deactivating my account, writing this review, and hoped everyone working for zoom has a horrible day. More Options NeededI started using Zoom because when Covid happened my weekly doctor appointments were only available on it. Every week on Mondays and Wednesdays I use the same meeting ID number to join a meeting which consists of only me and my doctor and I often use different electronic methods. I’ve never used Zoom for any other reason so my issues are only referring to joining a reoccurring meeting. I use my iPhone or windows pc for my meetings and noticed that there’s just about no options for a person who only joins meetings. I had to continuously type in the same meeting ID every single time so I made an account thinking it’d give me more options but that’s not the case. Contacts can be saved but you can't save a meeting ID number and name for quick and easy access and you can’t set any type of reoccurring reminder/notification when you have a meeting you join. Many times I didn’t have that trusty meeting ID number oh the stress! If I have an account why can’t I save the information pertaining to the daily meetings I join and set a reminder notification? If I’m just missing something and there’s all these options or any for a person who is only joining meetings then I’ll update my review. I have to keep switching back and forth from the app to my phone which makes no sense it’s a zoom meeting ID number it’s how joining a Zoom meeting works but you can’t save it and set in Zoom….no matter what device I choose to use to join my meeting if I’m signed into Zoom I should be able to access the information I need to join my meetings and set a daily reoccurring notification that my meeting is coming up..Brontë GatsbyVersion: 5.11.10

Volume control is terrible, as is the securityOverall Zoom has been very useful, but it has two significant problems that make me want to avoid the app as much as possible. The first issue is that the volume control is terrible. When I set the volume on my iPad to its lowest level, it’s still way too loud. It literally hurts my ears in certain meetings. Not only that, Zoom hijacks the audio so you can’t mute the sound. There are moments when I’m in a meeting when I need to talk to or hear someone in my house, and I want to mute Zoom temporarily, but there’s not way to do that short of turning my iPad off or leaving the meeting. This might not be a dealbreaker if I could turn the volume lower, but the fact that the I can’t do either is unacceptable. The other significant issue is that Zoom has terrible security. I won’t install Zoom on my Mac because of previous issues with them secretly installing a web server on installation that you couldn’t remove through normal means. Recently, they were sending analytics to facebook through the iOS app without asking for permission. And if you’ve been following the news lately, you’ve seen that there are issues with people hijacking Zoom meetings. They’ve recently admitted to their security failings, so now we’ll see how they rectify everything and if it’s all just talk or if they take meaningful action. We’ll see. Until these things are fixed (volume control and security), I’ll be using Zoom as little as possible (unfortunately in the times of COVID-19, Zoom is unavoidable to use right now). People are getting missed appointments, I’ve had error pages in the middle of them, and even seen the app crash and I am saying this as a way of kindness and love, you got to fix this garbage. Why did schools choose this app of all things?I’m a student, but I’m certainly not lazy and simply giving this app a one star review to get it taken off the App Store. I’m just genuinely confused as to why so many schools chose to use this app for their communications. Honestly, had anyone ever heard of this application before quarantine? Going with something like Discord (a far more reliable and streamlined service) or Google Meets would’ve been my first choice, and yet schools chose to go with this. I’ve heard many reports on how this app takes and sells your information to sites like Facebook which is appalling in and of itself. Though they might be untrustworthy, seeing so many reports of “selling information”, “enabling your camera without permission”, and “accessing other open tabs on your computer or phone” is enough to raise several fairly red flags. As for what I can prove, the app itself is very...unsatisfactory. There is constant lag spikes in every meeting I enter, sometimes leading to entire sentences my teachers say just going unheard by all students in the meeting—not just me. The sound quality is also atrocious. I use a pretty good recording microphone and I have fellow classmates telling me I sound like a robot and that half my sentences are gibberish. Zoom on iPad TodayYesterday I spent almost 45 minutes working with a knowledgeable tech mentor who was helping me navigate Zoom on my hp laptop. We finally reached a point where I could get onto the app and up to the point of "Join a Meeting." However, in trying to connect with my meeting today, after 3 failed attempts to get into my meeting on the laptop, a member of the group called me on my iPhone. He used his speaker so I could at least hear, if not see, the other meeting attendees. I then got my iPad, and was finally able to join the meeting - after having lost a full 45 minutes of the meeting! Not only did I miss a great deal of valuable conversation and information, I was lagging behind and trying to catch up the rest of the time! This is untenable! Very Poor Customer ServiceI wanted to cancel an upgrade I had made in error to an old Zoom account and upgrade my new one instead. The salesperson could not connect me with billing either but upgraded the new one account. She told me how to get around the AI assistant and had me try again which didn't work. I have now been emailing the billing department for a week and today, maybe, I will get to upgrade the proper account. I have spent hours attempting to work with customer service. Last update made Zoom unusableI am a volunteer tutor. I paid for my own subscription so I could tutor disadvantaged ESL kids. They live 1000 miles away (they moved from the town I tutored them in). We would use the white board all the time for me to teach and for them to also write on and solve math problems or many other simple things we would do on paper if I was sitting next to them. Negative stars would be amazing at this rateDon’t bother downloading this app. Just because they send automated meetings, doesn’t mean they could do it again. I contacted them and asked what is going on. And they said “You’re having problems with Zoom.” What a waste of time that was. Not how I want a contraction to look like. Information sharingInformation being shared without the consent of a user can be dangerous. Insurance companies have been known to use people’s data without them knowing to increase the prices if something were to happen to the customer of the insurance company. School emails could also be using Zoom, sharing school and private information. It is also heard that Zoom can enable camera whenever which is invasion of privacy. It has been heard that Zoom has ‘teamed’ with Facebook, to sell information too. I am not sure why these companies just sell information because sometimes I just wonder would they like their information shared to companies and could possibly be used against them in the future? This app is meant for meetings and business, right? Is it just an excuse to not use Skype and just share information for money. Jeez, is this generation all about the money? The information about the users can be sold to be in the use of being targeted and pushed into products and services without the consent of the person that is data is revolved around. Unfortunately, in some aspects it’s considered “not illegal” which is why before downloading an app like this, fully read the agreement user and the privacy policy. It could also leave warnings, though that’s not a common thing. The enabling camera whenever without the person enabling it is just another level of invasion of privacy. I just had a job interview get completely ruined because this app wasn’t letting me sign into any accounts, even though I had tried with both wifi and data that were working fine on quite literally everything else. I even tried to make a new account with my apple ID and some foreign characters along with some numbers popped up in a warning box. Then I tried to just make a new account with something else and after entering my birth year, it said “Sign Up Failed”. I’m an adult, there’s no reason my birth year should cause signing up to fail. Let’s leave Zoom in the pandemic and let another app take its place, this is not even within the first 20 times this app has horrifically underperformed. Not business friendly.This is the worst meeting platform for businesses with 1,000+ employees at mass scale. The integration is poor. Zoom developer team has failed to think of user experience for business users. Business users are too busy to type in passcodes three different times, between call-in versus app voip, and mobile to computer. We’re all too busy and running around and can’t be in front of our computer all day to log into a call or wait to be admitted. We need to be on time for meetings and jumping from one call to another and the time it takes to go through the zoom security protocols between phone or computer is time lost for all the meetings we’re trying to attend at the corporate level. This app has failed to meet our business demands. This company needs to learn from the Webex platform that has seamlessly integrated into our business environment. This review also goes on our company intrasite which will help guide senior leadership in rethinking the value of this investment. Takes private informationWhen I created a account it went fine but when I read the private policy I was horrified. Zoom thinks they have the right to take your passwords and emails then send them to Facebook. These poor teachers barely know what their doing.
