If your schedule varies from week to week, keeping track of your working days can be a chore, and it’s often difficult to quickly figure out when you’ll be on-duty weeks or months in the future.
Scheduler to the rescue! Designed for public-service employees such as police officers, firefighters and health-care workers — anyone who works an unusual but predictable schedule — Scheduler always shows your schedule for the next six years from “today.” Common shift schedules are built-in, such as the “Berkeley” (a.k.a. “California”), “48-96” and “Dupont,” but you can easily change them or create other repeating schedules covering any number of days. See the screenshots (here and on the web site) for some examples. And there’s even a “Doofus” mode for showing irregular schedules (e.g., health-care workers).
If your spouse/partner works a shift schedule, too, you can have that entirely different rotation appear on the calendar with yours. This will help you organize family activities such as vacations and day-care.

Great appI have a difficult 2-2-3 schedule that this app works perfect for. It's a bit challenging adding vacation days that are not holidays. I'm possibly doing something wrong. I could possibly use a bit more tutorial. I'd also like to be able to export my schedule more than the current screen display. Other than those areas. Great app but where did the emojis go?My husband and I have rotational shifts and so this app is a life saver for us. But to keep the clutter down of events I prefer to use emojis for the event title. That option seems to have gone away? Why?! It’s frustrating having so many events titled on one day and I tend to miss something if I don’t read each one carefully. I preferred using emojis to keep it easier and with less clutter. Also PLEASE get rid of the time zones!!!!! It doesn’t matter where I am when I put an appointment in my calendar, the time of the appointment is still the same no matter where I am. I can make the mental hour change myself if I know I’m in a different time zone but at least I’ll know what time the appointment is! Great appI have been using this app for several years now and love it. It is far better than keeping a pocket calendar with me when scheduling appointments or making plans with family and friends. I have a rotating schedule which is not in the app but I was able to put my schedule in manually. I can see what my schedule is going to be next year rather than trying to figure it out. Great calendarI have a 8 day rotation with the fire dept.. 1 day on 2 days off 1 day on 3 days off. Once I set the rotation, it goes on for years and years. I’m able to see my schedule years ahead. Also, it is connected to my Apple calendar. When I make appointments on my Apple calendar, it’s linked to this one. I’ve been using this calendar for 15 years. Great appI’ve used this app forever. I wasn’t thrilled with the update on the appearance but it appears that they’ve fixed that. Retired last year and I still use it almost as much as I did before. Love this calendar!I don’t know how this app doesn’t have more reviews. I have been using this scheduler for years and would be lost without it! So easy to use! OutstandingThis app is the main reason I stay with iPhone. It takes some time to get it setup but once you learn the app, it’s the best. I work an irregular schedule with a ton of overtime. Love itLove this scheduling app. I love that you can have up to 14 markers quickly accessible and the shift application is super easy. Love this calendar!I’ve been using this calendar for several years and really love it. I downloaded it originally when I was on rotating shift work and it really helped me manage my schedule at a quick glance. Good for Law Enforcement ScheduleScheduler was designed for use by people who have public service occuptions. I currently use it for a law enforcement schedule. Schedules as with most things in this line of work go out the window once they are implemented. Scheduler allows one to document overtime, holidays, vacations and all the other things that come up in the course of a given shift. It takes a little practice to use but is not a difficult program to use. On several occasions I have contacted the developer for help or advice and he has always responded in a very timely manner. The program has had upgrades based on user suggestions and my advise to those who wish to be critical without offering a better suggestion need not buy the program. If you are looking for a program that will work for police, EMS or fire schedules then I would recommend this app..Version: 0
Wonderful for CouplesI downloaded this app so that my boyfriend and I could sync our hectic schedules. I love that we can email update each other. At first it was not working because I had an older operating system on my Ipod that would not allow downloading of his emailed schedule. I emailed the developer and recieved a response within minutes. He was was very helpful in quickly resolving my issue and letting me know to update the OS on the ipod. Since then I have had no issues. The only suggestion I have at this point (and maybe it already exists and I haven't learned about it yet) is to be able to share certain events as well so that we don't have to each enter the event separately. For example, if I plan a trip on our weekend off and put it on my event schedule, that I can choose to have it shared with him. But not necessarily share other events such as work related appointments. If this can already be done, great! I will learn... if not having it added would be a great update!.Version: 4.2.3
(Read whole review) Best scheduler for the Fire/EMS service yet!First review ever written. I downloaded it during one of those idle moments between runs (911 calls), began to play with it, and thought that this might have been a waste of money because I had a hard time doing anything much more than setting up my shifts. However, having a better opportunity to really look at it, I was amazed at the functionality and usefulness. After I set everything up on it and was now trying to customize it, I took a brief look in the Help section, and didn't see anything on that subject. I emailed Jeff, got a response in exactly 10 minutes with an explanation of how to do it. Just because his instructions seemed so "duh", I went back to the Help section and took another look. Awesome Schedule/Calendar App"The App", " The App", "The App", lets all talk about the app. This is a great app, but I'll get to that later. Having been in budgeting, planning and scheduling of maintenance for major industrial facilities, the final result (making the darn thing work) is what really matters. That is what makes this app shine. I have only 2 "issues" with this app, both operator error. But each time I contacted support (Jeff), response was extremely fast and accurate, getting me running again. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME wondering if another app will work. This one DOES, and Jeff's willingness to follow-up if you have support needs, proves his desire to make sure that this is the best Scheduler/Calendar app. NOW THE APP... I am not a FF, but do work rotating shifts working the Dupont schedule, so having my shift calendar is a must. I tried several other schedule apps but none of those compared to the ease and flexibility of Scheduler. To be able to make and keep the family's appointments is no longer an "I'll check my work schedule and get back to you" event. I have showed it to co-workers and other folks that working rotatng shifts, and all love the app. They especially liked the ability to create their/your own schedule. Awesome - FinallyThanks Jeff for a great product! Basically, I work a 6 week schedule that requires us to spend half of our time in different locations... So, my schedule does not repeat until the 12 week cycle has completed. Scheduler is pricy and I was hesitant to purchase until I exhausted the similar Apps... This was quick since no other App can come close, in my opinion, providing the flexibility and tracking that this program does. This App can accommodate the most demanding schedule - period. There is a learning curve but non too difficult to figure it out. Wondering what shift you are working next year to plan ahead? No problem - if your schedule does not change - you can have it in view right now! Customer support - there is None Better - Jeff responded within the hour of my email. Very Cool App for FD scheduleSince I bought my iPhone I have looking for an app that I could keep my schedule on as well as Trades, vacation, OT, etc... This is the one. It is pretty easy to use after about 30 minutes of playing with it. It also has "tutorial" mode that will help you if you need it. The different colors and ability to change colors for each type of schedule situation is really cool. Once you learn it you will find ways to put important notes on a day like someones birthday or an important meeting. My only request would be for the developer to make this more user friendly and let the app track your personal events as well as work events. Best App on the MarketI have an unusual work schedule where I work for 5 days then off 2, then Work 5 off 2, and work 5 off 3. This App has been unbelievably helpful for me. All I had to do was set up an example month of work and it duplicated it for the next two years! I very often do shift swaps with other guys and this app has a "trade" option which helps me keep track of days I owe or days owed to me. My overtime and shift changes are easily tracked on this app as well. I have had this app for almost 3 month and I could not imagine not having it. It completely takes the place of calendar books or logs and is worth every penny I paid for it. I highly recommend this app to all people..Version: 4.2.3
Very functional appIt helps me plan my work schedule before submitting it to our scheduler at work. I can see the calendar in a 30-day view and actually plot my schedule in a way that works w 'my family's' holidays (e.g. bdays, annivs) and actually gives me a better picture when to request days offs or vacations. I can even start plotting my draft schedule months ahead and that just gives me a planning advantage. One has to learn how to use this app. Once that was ironed out for me, i customized it to the way that worked for me. Now not all of the features were applicable to me- but the other features worked for my needs. I have used this app since 2008 ( or when the iphone 3G came out whatever year that was...). Couldn't do without it!I am an RN with a different schedule every week and accumulate hours for vacation, sick, personal, comp and holidays. This ap keeps track beautifully once it's set up-adds and subtracts hours or days. With a tap of the screen, you can see your balance going forward or back in the calendar. There is so much more than that. Once set up, it is so easy to enter your schedule or anything else you want to enter-by just touching the date. You can see your phone calendar in the ap. it even let's you know how many hours you've worked and when you've reached your max limit on vacation hours. It may seem a bit daunting at first to set it up but it's worth it. I've been using this ap for a very long time and even when I find that I need something else, like to track comp time, it can do it. The customer service is wonderful. They are quick to answer. Pretty much immediately. Plus they are extremely helpful with any questions about the ap. It is so difficult keeping track of all the different hours and this ap does it seamlessly. Great for shift working couple!Works great! Worth every penny. It really helps. I now know when my wife and I are working years from now. My wife and I are both shift workers with odd schedules that repeat. I had been looking for an app to keep track of both schedules and this does it. I’ve been using this app for many years. It’s one of the best app purchases I’ve made. The setup of schedules does take a little time and effort, but the tutorial mode walks you through it. I later emailed Jeff with a couple of minor issues and suggestions. He got back to me the same day! Most tweaks are already on the way and he solved my issues by showing me other ways to use the app. He really wants to get it right. Great support. Highly Recommended. Great, but....Been using this app for years. It serves it's purpose and has been great, with some great features. However, it would be great, and could easily be the best calendar app out there, if iCloud sync was an option. Without this feature I can't imagine it can get 5 stars..Version: 5.0.4
App for crazy RN schedulesI'm a RN and this is a great app! I've been looking for an app that I don't waste my money on due to lack of features and I finally found it! I wanted to be able to visualize my schedule every 2 weeks by having a solid background colour and different colours in it to indicate my days/nights/evening shifts so I know my hours in a 2 week pay period. You can also put in OT, vacation, sick days, pay days, notes (appointments) etc. I've seen the other apps and it doesn't have as many options as this! The best part as well is the VERY quick help you get from Jeff when you have trouble setting up your schedule. The app is complicated at first but you gotta play with it to know it! Works for us!Played around, definitely needed to read the instructions, but I got all 5 Toronto police platoons on, paydays, holidays, can use the markers to record court, overtime 'paid duties', save assigned days off, regular days off attached to leave days. It would be nice to have a roster page to record colleagues 'need to know' info like badge numbers, platoon, company email, cells, to avoid having it all mixed in with the iPhone contacts. Also to be able to save audio/video/foto inside app with ability to email back to mother ship..Version: 0
Awesome app for firefightersGotta get this one...everyone who has an ipod touch or phone get t once i show them mine. They try the $0.99 one and then invest in this one as it can do everything. You can make your own custom schedule, organize trades, keep track of OT and events daily and shows up with a dot so you know there is something that day. I put all my girls dance schedule as events and don't miss any of them anymore. We changed from 10/14 schedule to 24's and Jeff responds almost immediately if you need help. Must have!!!This app is a must for shift workers!!! Anything you would want on a calendar is available and all customizable. From colours for different shifts or overtime or vacation to colours for appointments, training, etc. you can also back up the app so if anything happens to your phone you don't lose everything which is great. And also fantastic service from app makers. I had an issue getting my overtime shifts to show up the way I wanted so after a few emails back and forth and still not being able to figure out what I was doing wrong, they had me back up the data and send it to them. Shift workerThis app is well worth the money! I love how it syncs with my ical on my iPhone and how easy it is to see my schedule colour codes for weeks at a time. I don't use it to it's full capacity by a long way. It is a bit tricky to get set up because it's capable of so much, but anytime I have had a question I just fire off an email and I get a response with with a quick easy answer within hours! Still not canadian firefighter friendlyBetter than ifirecal but still too american making it difficult to create a Canadian firefighter schedule. Make a 4/4 schedule that is two 10hr day and two 14hr nights followed by four days off. Also add option for Canadian holidays please Thanks for all the updates! I've had thus app from day one and even with the previously mentioned shortcomings it was still the best firefighter app available. Now I think it's the greatest by far! Excellent!I work in the oil patch and my wife is a nurse. We both have weird shifts but this app can handle them with ease. This program is a little complicated at first but if you read the help section it makes sence later on. It is the best sched app I have found yet. The support is second to none!
