Awesome offline reference for knots of all kindsI’ve been a happy user of ProKnot for many years, ever since I bought a new tent and needed to learn how to tie my own adjustable guy lines without needing extra doo-dads. Enter the bowline and the tautline hitch. When the app stopped working with iOS 13, I reached out and got a quick response from John that he’d look into it, and lo and behold, the latest update released today resolves the issue. My guy lines have held up to strong winds, thanks to ProKnot’s clear transmission of knot wisdom. Fishing knots have proven useful, as have a number of others. I find myself swiping through new knots, thinking up ways to apply them in my daily life, or imagining new activities in which I might be able to use them. One of the first & one of the best.If I could only choose one knot app, this would be the one. It has clear, concise illustrations and instructions. Good but not greatI bought this after seeing it in the "What's Hot" list. I've been wanting a knot tying app and the references to a book and decent reviews made it sound like a good deal for $0.99. After checking it out, it's probably worth what I paid but not more. First, the "warning" about climbing is annoying every time you start the app. The diagrams are just simple drawings in a single color, but on the plus side, there is a text description that sorta kinda explains the next step. But It uses knot lingo (like "standing end") that you have to figure out. It has a useful set of knots but isn't a "reference" on a bunch of knots. After being intrigued by this app, I did a search for "knot" on the App Store and found a bunch. I eventually also bought Knot Guide (by Winkpass I believe). It is only $0.99 more and not only does it have more knots, but actual photographs augmented with directional arrows, a Favorite Knots feature for quick access, a knot lingo page and the ability to suppress the startup/warning page. You also dont have to rotate your phone. For me, I think I like it better, if for no other reason than it has a few more knots to try..EddyGeez!Version: 0

Wow! So easy to understand!Wow, John! Your organization & communication skills shine thru on this very cool app! I love that you explain in simple straightforward terms what each knot is used for, & then give the history of each one. Never knew knots could be so darn interesting! I grew up sailing on my dads boat all the time as a kid & was constantly asked to remember to tie different knots! I would always forget! Great for beginners and reviewI have the other knot apps (Knot Time and Knot Guide), but I prefer this app for it's simplicity and focus. It provides only the essential knots and a good description of when to use them. Most accurate knot app!I use several knots for kite aerial photography and find Pro Knot to be the most accurate app for knots. Pro Knot is one of the few sites to depict the Palomar knot correctly. OkDont expect much. You get what you see. Just a few pictures with three steps. They screen doesn't stay on either like better apps. Its hard to tie a know for the first time with the screen dimming and both your hand occupied. I think I'll check out the Knot Time app.DrielokVersion: 0
