DAW noob ... some things to improve though08 Feb 2019 I have tried a few of the iPad iOS DAWs and some that claim they are; but landed on this one and purchased it with all of the fixin’s. This works from a UI point like what I would expect in most cases and have not had any major problems with the exception of a few major annoyances. I find that the UI just responds very sluggishly when you have one one track and you want to select a single note in order to alter it. You have to hold your finger on that note way too long to select it. I also find having to select which direction to move the note, up or down, forwards or backwards to be a real pain. I would think you should be able to select the note and drag it where you want it with out selecting a direction just as in any other DAW I have worked with. The other issue is that selecting a group of notes to duplicate, when duplicated, the pattern of the notes is sometime changed or notes are left out. This seems to happen really often on my iPad Pro Gen 1 12.7” and it is a major disruption to work flow. I cn never depend on the copy being a faithful reproduction of the original when it is moved to another place. I have not gotten much beyond this because it becomes frustrating to get the app to do what it should be doing; but, I will keep hacking away at it..Universe ObserverVersion: 2.10

GarageBand AlternativeLove playing around with GarageBand. Have been making songs for the past three years. This is the only app that equals, and in some areas (core instrument variety, for example), surpasses GarageBand. There's was a bit of a learningv curve for me, I must admit, and I am sure I've only scratched the surface of what Music Studio is capable of, but I'm very satisfied with the tools I've discovered. One of my favorite pastimes is downloading Midi files, and, currently, Music Studio beats GarageBand in the quality of its Midi-file uploading abilities. Everything from Beethoven to AC-DC sounds great when run through this app. Plus, it exports Midi files as well n(and WAVs and all of the major file-types that a hobbyist like me requires to keep himself busy. I'm really looking forward to the next update and am hoping even more musical instruments and drum kids will become available..Mr_ElmoreVersion: 2.10

Music Studio is a very capable DAWI have to say I'm impressed with this app! It has a lot of useful features such as built in midi instruments (and a lot to choose from too) as well as audio tracks to record from a microphone or line in. I really like the Inter App Audio support so you can record audio from other music apps and virtual instruments you may have installed on your device. Here's why I couldn't give it five stars: when I record audio tracks, it will record the wave, but it won't play the sound when I play back my recordings. I can't get the audio tracks to "play" even though the waveform is there. Is it something I'm doing wrong? Or is it a glitch that needs to be updated? I can't figure it out and it's driving me crazy because I really do like this app. I just wanted to bring this problem to someone's attention just in case they're having the same problem..Entertainer510Version: 2.8

Fantastic, but no longer works with AirPods!!! Plz FixWith a wide selection of instruments, and what seems like an infinite amount of tools, this is easily one of my most used apps! It is fun to use, and it has a massive range of capabilities. Definitely deserves more recognition. I highly recommend it! It would be nice to see a UI redesign with a more modern look, as well as some more instruments. It also seems as of August of 2023, the “bluetooth/airplay” feature is no longer working with AirPods or other wireless headphones. Upon selecting it, there is only silence, no matter what settings I change. Turning it off causes the audio to come through, but at a very grainy low quality... Headphone TroublesWhen I use Bluetooth headphones because my phone doesn’t work with normal ones it worked fine when I’m listening to a track, but when I want the track to play during an audio recording the sound of the track is muffled and delayed. And when I play back the audio over that track the the audio I just recorded is also muffled and delayed. Please fix this bug so the headphone option actually works, because otherwise the track records itself and background noise when I record audio. Thank you..Anonymous AlphaVersion: 2.10

Good app for my usesUsed since 2011 it’s awesome leaves a little to be desired in the year 2025 in regards only to the samples but a)that is to be expected when the sample library is as small as it is because it has to fit on a phone and b) it has remained the app that I bought all those years ago. It is great for getting something from your head into some form of audio while you are on the go and proof of concept when you can’t pick up a guitar, drum kit, piano, you get the idea. I’m not a pro by any means I just write for my own pleasure. My issue is most of you are going to have access to garage band and probably don’t care admittedly but this is what I have used and it is as described on the carton..TacoTony666Version: 2.11.1

Awaking and Priced FairlyI have spent some mega bucks on some big name musical daws and sound packs when many different kinds of music are represented in the this paid version. Seriously, with the small price you get some great sounds. When heard about this at first, I was like ok it would just be another throw away freebie piece of crap but tried the free version and was amazed. I was even more amazed at the cheap price to go to pro! This app plays well with others and works quite well with my midi keyboard which I can not say about some many high end other apps. Definitely worth it even if you only like 1/4 of the styles offered. Works on my iPad Pro and actually has a sizeable keyboard and pads that works great on my small iPhone 8, as well!.ClurichaunVersion: 2.10

Wonderful AppAlexander Gross has put together a comprehensive and fun way to work with midi. For me, this is easier and more fun / better user experience / better interface to the music and instruments than Garage Band. The samples and sounds of each instrument are pretty good quality. I tinkered with and updated midi from my favorite old games to hear closer to symphonic experience. Transposing Cybermage: Darklight Awakening’s track 18 from the midi I remember in 1995 to these violins and cellos, piano and drum sets gave me chills. Hopefully the update makes this usable on current iOS. I would recommend for beginners wanting to edit and tinker with existing midi to ultimately learn more about music harmony and composition and appreciate the medium..K_Man_7Version: 2.11.1

Crashes every time I try and save a sampleJust got this today. Instruments are nice. Editing notes in the piano roll is pretty ridiculous but maybe I haven’t figured it out yet that’s not my issue. The problem is every time I try and save a sample the app crashes and I’m not following the 50 step process described on the website to get a crash report. The app seems like it could be really great but not if it crashes all the time and not if I have to jump through hoops to report a problem or get help. I’m not trying to be one of those people that writes some review bashing everything about your app like I said I have high hopes for it just wish it wouldn’t crash every time I save a sample it’s pretty annoying.Audioafterglow78Version: 2.11.1

VersatileI purchased this 7 years ago and then forgot about it because I wasn’t using my iPad for audio. But now I’m finding it very handy for recording a classical guitar album, as I can record tracks at home and edit them on my commute (by ferry). I especially appreciate that I can specify which channel gets recorded from my usb interface, edit waveforms with scrub, apply a pleasing reverb in real time, and access all files through a browser on my laptop. The EQ plug-in is not worth much but it’s easy enough to transfer audio into hokusai audio editor where the eq and scrub are superior. 5 because I love you guysI love this app and have been using it for 6 years now, I have built myself from the ground up through this app. I recently have had the problem that my audio files that I upload into the app say “an error occurred while loading file” every time I try to put it in the track. I don’t want this to be the reason I stop using it, I even deleted a lot of hard progress I made on the app to see if that would fix it and the problem still happens. Perfection for my needsI’ve used this app since iPhone 4 came out and it has never disappointed me. I have purchased every addon instrument available so far and absolutely love working in this app. It’s easy to use and hard to master so the the advanced user will have just as much fun as the novice that picks it up. Strange thing I noticed the other day, I also use FL Studio Mobile 3 and it would appear that their previous iteration FLSM 2 was almost an exact clone as far as interface goes... was this app the model that t was made after because o believe Music Studio 2 was out before FLS but idk. Just saw some old screengrabs and was like, what!?!! It looks like Music Studio!?! Anyway keep up the awesome work! Keep adding instruments and drum kits! Bluetooth/Airplay not workingHi! Amazing app! I love to make projects but ever since I took a break from it, I noticed that the Bluetooth airplay button isn’t working anymore in settings. When I press it I don’t hear anything. I used to be able to hear the instruments clearly and I could hear everything, it’s good quality but now I have to make projects without it using my Bluetooth headphones which makes it sound bad quality, so could you please fix that? RevisedOriginally I gave a bad rating because I had problems reaching support and couldn’t resolve a sound issue that popped up on its own. I have since figured it out with the help button but still couldn’t connect with anyone. But the app isn’t expensive at all and it’s fair to see that they have a plethora of automation. Very impressive DAW!Real top class product! I had bought this several years in an old iPad. And few years ago I quit doing anything musically with iPads and hence totally forgot about this. Now in October 2020, I suddenly remembered it and came back to download this in my current generation iPhone. Music StudioThis is a great program for the iPad. I have used it to write all my orchestral compositions. The sounds on there are so natural and actually sound like an orchestra. My only wish would be to add the following sounds: more pipe organ voices, alto horn, Wagner tuba, saxophones that can actually blend with other winds for concert band writing, a more natural-sounding vibraphone and marimba, and crotales. Professional programThis is the only music making app out there that works. It is $15 which is a lot for an app but you probably shouldn’t compare this to other apps. This is just as good if not better than most of the programs you’ll find for a computer, and the other programs cost a lot of money. Most powerful DAW in the App StoreHave used this app for almost 4 years now!!! Great for all my music needs. It really amazes me how far I've gone with just this app alone!! I love it but needs updates for plus and newer IphonesI have been using this app for years now and have found it to have some of the best sound packs for concert instruments. Unfortunately the developers have been lagging in fixing the issues with iPhone plus and newer models. I am using an 8 plus and am missing the capability to work on compositions on the go. Suggestion..?This is a very good music app! I love that it is fun and easy to use. However, it would be great if you could make it compatible with Windows. Don’t get me wrong- having it on a mobile app is great, but it would be much easier if I had the ability to open it up on my laptop and be able to work on a song there too. A date, an estimate, ANYTHINGThe app is amazing... when it works. As of iOS13, it does not. My main reason for writing this review is to get ANY sort of timeframe for when an update might come out. Nostalgic and I love itNot a pro music maker at all and I relied heavily on fl-studio mobile to create music as an outlet during my rougher Times. Music Library not workingHello. My son loves using this app, and he doesn’t stop using it. He creates songs on it, he records stuff, etc.. Anyways, a few years ago, he noticed that when he tried to import music from the Music Library option in the Audio area, in the latest versions, it crashed. But it needs an update, more specifically it needs an updated mixer with automation. The best in a long time.This is my preference to music making. It is one of the best that I have seen since GarageBand. With all the additions there are it beats the alternative (GarageBand) by a long shot. There are many things to do and never get bored with it. This app needs work and it should have been done years agoNo ability to inject vibrato, sooooo important and what about tremelo? No Search capabilities. I have about 5000 song files and I cant locate what I am looking for by typing in a search word, have to scroll through the whole darn list of song projects. The program loses its settings. You select 1/8th quantitization and next you know it has switched to 1 quarter quantitization. You have to select your tracks using a finger press and hold. Why no have Selectable track option? PerfectThis is the most impressive app I have ever used. It allows me to create music right here on my iPhone. There is a bit of a learning curve, but It’s doable. Still Learning, but the functions I have learned so far, I’ve been able to figure out intuitively. Enough for me to produce some pretty impressive stuff. Value for money right out of the box. Comes with a good variety of loops, and and samples and there’s more available at their store at very reasonable prices. The instruments sound way more realistic than any other digital audio workstation I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried a few. Can’t say enough about this app and what it has enabled me to do. Now back on the great music making short listOne of the first DAWs is now up to date with current features. Great instruments also accessible via midi. Excellent interface. You can use Audio unit instruments by choosing an AUM port/track as the IAA instrument for a midi track. It’s not direct but works just fine and has benefits like using audio unit effects for the track. When using an iPad or any IOS device you have the benefits that come with it, so using AUM that way is more of a feature than a workaround. Music Studio is a lot of fun that doesn’t require much to learn. You can open it up and be creating music almost right away. Simply amazing!!This app blows me away!! I love GarageBand but this app is way more powerful! I’ve had it for almost a week and every day I realize more possibilities it gives me. I do hope in an upcoming update it allows the ability to do time signature/tempo changes in a project. The ability to map functions to an external midi controller to adjust tracks / tap tempo etc. Would be great too. The ability to to rename tracks and display the title of the song in the tracks window would be useful as well. I pray for this and more updates to happen in the future. IncredibleI recently reloaded this App. I am very pleased with it. The interconnectivity is excellent. Although a early developed App on the music scene it appears to have kept up with the competing apps. So glad I reloaded. I am amazed at the quality of the instruments. I am having an amazing time with this incredible app. I just finished composing the opening music for a video presentation. Fantastic ToolI played around with the free version of this app before purchasing the full blown app. I have to say I really love using it. I've tried other apps, GB for example, and prefer the clean, intuitive interface provided by Music Studio. The additional sounds in the full version are very cool as well. It was also excellent to have a support question answered quickly by the vendor on their forum. Broken App / Apathetic DeveloperThis WAS a great app for several years. The features were amazing for a mobile app and the interface was perfectly optimized for its compactness. Needs to be updated to support new IOSI used to use this app all the time and I loved it. But now when I use it with my new iPhone XS, it barely works and you can’t go in and create your “master pieces”. At this point it is an over glorified piano app that says that advertises that you may create your own music, but you can’t. Not good anymore want my money back!It was good -not great- before but then, here comes the updates. Before when o wanted to exit the app all I had to do was just press the home button in my phone and that was it. Now, with the last update I tried to do the same and the app stayed on working in the background, returned to the app and looked for the “exit” button and NOTHING!
