AmpliTube CS Positive Reviews
Great idea, needs workIronic that the app crashes when I try to browse "add gear" - Especially since there's a LOT of gouging with IK. IK COULD become my go-to for all my original music needs, BUT:
I bought Vocalive but there doesn't seem to be a way to incorporate the effects with other IK apps, and now they want me to buy the effects I already have via in-app to use them here. No AudioCopy/Audiopaste is a HUGE disappointment and an easy fix to the problem. I have iRig, iRig mic, and I'm registered with both Amplitube Free apps as well as having a couple of the percussion apps. I see no reason to buy the full Ampliutube versions since I'm only interested in a few effects, which I can buy separately and which are not included in the full versions anyway. The hardware is good quality and fair value, although iRig is proprietary (iRig works great with Amplitube and with a couple other apps but feeds back with many competitors. Peavey Link is not proprietary - it works on any modeling app - but it's a cheaper build, more bulky, and requires batteries). The software needs to be intra-compatible to be really useful.
For now I'll use Amps&Cabs and Riot FX for practice, FourTrack and MultiTrack DAW for recording, and Vocalive as a toy. Make IK work universally with other IK and I'll throw another hundred bucks their way tweaking my gear - but I'm not sinking another dollar into IK until they start showing repeat customers some love.

Doesn't work with Apple mp4 format songsAlthough it lets you jam along with your existing songs, it doesn't work with songs in mp4 format, which is what iTunes uses by default for importing CDs. So none of my 5,000 songs works.
I was hoping to use Amplitube to jam along with the songs I have on iTunes. Unfortunately, it doesn't do that, what it lets you do instead is download up to 20 songs to play within Amplitube.
I went through the messy process it requires of getting on a computer that's on the same wifi network as my iPod Touch, going to a special Amplitube website, uploading a song file from my computer, downloading it into Amplitube, and "expanding" it within Amplitube, 20 times. The problem is, Amplitube doesn't seem able to handle Apple's default format, m4a. Instead of playing the song, each time I pressed the play button it just "expanded" it again. I believe it prefers mp3 files. Considering this app is designed for the Apple iPod/iPhone, this seems like a rather large oversight and renders the app unusable for me..Dang it's hard to find an unused nicknameVersion: 0
Great app- needs to keep on top of iOS updatesI’ve just started to rely on AmpliTube. I didn’t think they’d let an iOS update break their GUI! Right now, with the iOS 16 update, AmpliTube is stuck in the portrait mode while in Live. The controls are mostly unavailable, and so none of the presets can be edited. IK should at least have someone test the iOS beta and make a warning announcement about update problems. I was able to use AmpliTube for my last gig, but was really limited. IK really needs to post an acknowledgment of the problem and a timeline to fix it!.A.McKeeVersion: 4.14
4.5Not a bad app. Of course it's not going to sound like you tube amp... Duh!!! But, for capturing riff ideas or practicing at the airport, or on the bus this works. Not real sure what some reviewers were expecting for free or a few bucks( some people would complain about being hung with a new rope... :p ) if you read the installed help section and know how to use your phone/computer volume and tone settings, you can get tone that won't sound like your first guitar and cheap digital amp.... I bought the iRig just to interface my guitar to my phones Strobotuner@ application, and decided to try the fee app. You get two effects and a noise filter( not necessary if your guitar is quiet to start with) just keep the effect & amp gains and levels under control and you get close to what your looking for... I play for a living and this combination works for what was designed for.... It does have little, occasional pops but that is the phone audio/ iRig compatability not the app. So Enjoy it, I do.... :).Razorc195Version: 0
Works ok.Don't expect to actually use this in a live performance or recording, the tones are not that great and the responsiveness is not very realistic. The tone reminds me of a super cheap multi-effect processor plugged into a small stereo. That said, I was able to play the free version with no perceivable latency with an iphone 3g. the tuner and metronome seem to work fine. The screen layout is nice and the controls are intuitive. The delay, noise gate and distortion pedal are nice and it's great to be able to save your presets. This app, of course, would be useless without a special cable to hook up a guitar. I made my own, so I couldn't comment on the iRig addaptor. Given that this does turn your iphone into a multi-effect guitar processor for free, it easly deserves 4 stars. You can use a camcorder cable to plug your guitar in. The red plug of the camcorder cable is the "mic in", the yellow and white go to the amp or stereo. For your guitar input: Use a 1/4" female to RCA female adaptor to mate with the red RCA Jack on the camcorder cable..Ryan 438573710Version: 0
Very good practice deviceI bought the PRS cables and the jam amp.
The jam amp, amps and cabs and guitar fx deluxe apps, While decent little guitar rigs, distort really easy, and feedback when using active pickups.
The free Amplitube rig has it's threshold as well, but with the noise gate feature, this is reduced quite a bit. Tone wise, through passive and active pickups, this thing rocks!
Using the PRS cables is perfectly fine, for those of you who bought them like myself. The amp is very responsive, and the distortion has a ton of bite.
I am not very impressed with the delay, but it does add a dimension to the tone, and makes it fun to play with. The tuner works great and is almost exactly in tune with my line6 podx3. The jam amp app is not.
If you want something to record an album on, this might not be it. But it goes much farther than other apps of it's kind. I plan to expand to the full version now that I have had a chance to play the free setup.
If you want a great practice amp, and free is your kind of price, this is well worth the money... And register to get the free distortion box!
I give it four stars, because it still does feedback a little, and the delay is not fully realized in this version..Firesheep67Version: 0
Great app one of the bestI don’t know what all these negative reviews are about. I have owned this app for quite awhile I have everything it offers. It looks great sounds great. Love all the extra packages. Only problem is I usually have to unplug my interface from my iPad and then plug it right back in for it to work. I don’t no why but if this helps anyone. Unplug and plug back in from the lightning connector. Also too long in between any updates new sounds for iOS and such. I have both AmpliTube 5 and 4 on my Mac. Also irig keys the irig pads micro monitors the irig 1 irig 2 irig hd irig pro duo 1 st one and the I loud speaker which I LOVE and the I klip stand and adapters. Love it all. I use my iPad more a lot more Otherwise great job..Sex on drugsVersion: 4.12.1
New Version May Work BetterUpdate: I reinstalled the app and the knob fuzziness cleared up.
I agree with another reviewer that the bass guitar sound is often muddy. It is sometimes a little distorted on the extreme low end, this could also be the iPhone limitations. I think it must lose something between the cabinet and the mic in their sample. Also it would be nice to bypass the cabinet and just use the head. It has a funny frequency in the bass sound that is hard to EQ out. I do like the Ultimate Tuner that's in the app but could care less for the drums and recorder for now. They should have put the effort in making it a great bass app before moving on to drums and recording. It might be good for professional use like some of the other apps I have for Bass Guitar. I just haven't tried it yet on stage..StudioaceVersion: 4.0.2
Absolutely amazing! As a gigging guitar player with years of experience and having tried tons of gear on the market, I am absolutely blown away by Amplitube and the matching iRig interface!
I have been playing with the software and the interface for a couple of days on my iPhone 4 and second generation iPod and have gotten a tone with the free version I didn't think were possible. I will be trying with my girlfriends iPad and will more than likely upgrade to the full version soon.
This with a power amp and 4x12 cabinet may become my live setup..., we shall see soon enough!.Georgehyde4Version: 0
Need Access to the Older VersionOk, I was forced to download the app because the older version no longer works with the new iOS. I use it all the time, it works great, just like before, no issues, but my question is:
What can be done to gain access to my songs stored on the deprecated app?
I have tons of data still stored on my phone which I can no longer access because the developer has not updated the app to work with iOS 11. I hesitate to begin recording on this new app for fear that next year I will be forced to update again.
Can a utility be created to import the old data from the older app?.AlxandroVersion: 4.4.0
Really good!I got a bass for my birthday but i hate using amps because they, especially with basses, can shake the ground and are really loud, and since im autistic, i cant deal with loud noise. my father introduced me to this app though, and it works great!
I just wish you were able to close out of the app and still be able to play
since im new to bass, i still have to look at online sheet music for the songs i want to play; i cant really do that if every time i close out of the app, the amp shuts off.
Besides that nit picky little thing, this is an amazing app and i love it dearly!.Xhu24Version: 4.11.1
Effects work and then they donI recently downloaded the app and registered on-line.
Day 1 I loved the sound, distortion, and delay.
Day 2 I turned on the amp and effects tuned up using the tuner on the app. None of the effects worked. Even though I cranked the nobs and switched the pedals on (with red light) and off. I went to itunes to see what others were saying and saw that there was a love hate review there. They loved it when it worked but others were seeing what I saw.
I rebooted my iPhone and then "hard" rebooted by pressing the top button and the button on the front of the phone.
Guess what??? Everything worked again. I went to the tuner turned it back on and guess what, nothing worked.
I hard rebooted and could repeat this again.
Just thought you would want to know. A fix would be nice, since I like the tuner and overall the sound is great value for the money..ChiDude1Version: 2.0.2
Awesome, but no multitasking??This is great. I just bought a guitar and am using this for my amp plugged into headphones or speakers. The one thing that is a huge dissappointment is that there is no multitasking. I'm new to guitar and would love to be able to use Tabs Plus or other guitar apps while running Amplitube.
Also, for all the bells and whistles and in-app purchases, this app is almost $50. Not bad for such extensive software, just a warning if you are looking for lots of free stuff.
Five stars if they allow background audio / multitasking in a future version..EterpsVersion: 2.0.1
Decent beginningsMake it stereo output and I'll buy it. Reverb and chorus just sound best in stereo. Here's a few ideas for future:
Add a floor controller that plugs into the 30pin connector. Give the floor controller a wah pedal. If the iOS4 won't support the higher processing demands of stereo processing, put the DSP in the floor controller and make the iOS device the editor/librarian/display only. Perhaps use the accelerometer/gyros for controlling different parameters (like wah). you could make the spring reverb, in the amp models, clang when you bump the iphone (kind of cheesy). How about an impedance transformer built into the iRig interface?.IRiderVersion: 0
Nice AppCurrent version I have (?) appears to have a small bug when creating a new label to record, need to unplug / plug the iRig back in. Otherwise you might think its broken.
I love this app, even with the prices I think it's well worth it. Getting the bundles will save. The best part is being able to play just about anywhere without really disturbing anyone. Or, you can disturb.
5 stars because I felt it deserved it. Appears the programmers take pride. Perhaps they play as well.PoweroftheforceVersion: 3.0.1
My rig on the go!Let’s be real, it’s annoying to have to lug around your amps, cabs, and FX everywhere. So why not make it easier on yourself and have it all in an app on your iPhone and/or ipad?
AmpliTube is that solution. This app makes recording and playing on the go so much easier for me. The physical modeling can be easily reflected within the app as all the gear in there sounds like the real deal.
Always looking forward to the next update!.Earth1SeabassVersion: 4.13
Great app, even better rigThis app is very easy to use and I was playing within minutes. The sound quality is obviously not going to be as good as a tube amp, but I'm impressed with how close they got! The occasional click/pop is there, but it doesn't and shouldn't undermine the whole experience of being able to play without lugging gear around! Free version is limited and I'll be buying the full version soon. Great job IK.Zephyr304Version: 0
Good for jammingThere you go, this app is great if you just want to make some loops and play along. Most of the in app purchases are fair, and don't cost too much.
The problem is the recorder, that thing is a piece of garbage. I say this because it isn't just a nice simple recorder which allows you to record songs. Instead it's a freaking monster. You only get one channel to work with and you aren't allowed to easily use your loopers while recording! That thing took 20$ from me.
If you want to jam it is a good app. If you want to record go find a microphone..DiscarabVersion: 4.3.0

Play by ear?!? Excellent AppI am familiar with the distortion that some are referring to. (fuzzy) turn your guitar down and get some good headphones! I love my monster ear plugs.
If you play by ear like I do you just can't beat this app. Compressor (free) Delay (free) and when you register your I rig..... (free) distortion pedal. Everyone that I jam with I have told about this product. The tuner is great also! Highly recommend this. Not sure why you would want the pay ver but hay!.Mbeebe00Version: 2.2.2
"No Voice" button = 5 starsYes, the out-the-box tone isn't as good as AmpKit, and yes it isn't laid out as nicely as Ampkit either, but when I want to play along with or learn a song, Amplitube - Song - Add from iPod - (processing) - "No Voice". Oh sweet lordy lord, 5 stars. I would buy an app that did just that. This kinda does this as a side project. Crazy.
For best practice? Amplitube. Hands down. For sweet tone? Ampkit. But you only ever use these things at home for practice anyway, not at a gig..RunawadeVersion: 2.5
What a GREAT App!Amplitube is such a great app. I purchased the full version of the app a month ago. Before I purchased Amplitube, I tried two other guitar apps to compete with it and nothing beats Amplitube. The app has great sounds with clean tone and distortion, including other effect pedals and quality brand amplifiers that are used by famous musicians. Everything in Amplitube is amazing. I recommend this app to everyone who is a beginner or a professional guitar player..Positive Guitar PlayerVersion: 4.5.2
Sounds GoodJust played around with the free version and the included loops. Using the interface is very intuitive. Sounds decent through headphones.
Was wondering how a previous poster was able to use a camcorder cable to connect his guitar. I tried using the yellow rca end to connect the guitar (via a female rca to 1/4 adapter), and using the red and white rcas to connect my headphones. The headphone signal worked, but the unit didn't recognize any guitar signal coming in.....Chris JC_2010Version: 0
Does the jobThis was more than I expected. I just wanted a practice amp. Buzz doesn't bother me. Anyone who has owned a high gain amp should know how to dial it out - especially with the noise gate pedal. The record function is great. I can lay down ideas without setting up my whole rig and computer. The files are convertible to songs, which means I can make practice tracks for my drummer; that is boss..OderintVersion: 2.1
Great for practicingThe amps sound great for quiet practicing. I’m on a tour of duty in Kuwait and need to be quiet with my playing. It really sounds incredible with a pair of powered, noise-cancelling headphones. With regular headphones though, it can get staticky and muted. I did plug it in my old Fender 110 amp at home before I left and it made that crappy little amp sound good. I currently use the iRig 2 interface with it, so an HD or HD2 would probably make it sound even better.
The recording feature is great for saving ideas for recalling them in the future. Bump up to the 8 track recorder and drum machine, you could probably write an entire song on it.
It can get pricy with the in app purchases of other amps and features. But if you buy the bundles you could save quite a bit of money.
Overall, I’m happy with the app..JspryorVersion: 4.7.0
FinallyWell first try and buy amp for $40 and not have any buzz, u won't. Look at this for what is an amazing tool to become a better guitarist. The difference between a guitar player and a guitarist is one plays and the other is an artist hence the ist like in the difference between guitar player and guitar(ist) so this app is not meant to replace your rig. Quite complaining about apps and go practice.Mod5150Version: 2.1

Buyer Beware! This is a fantastic app. It's very polished; it looks incredible, and it works exactly as it should. The effects are great, and the 8-track Mixer is a nice touch. I'd like to give it 5 stars, and indeed I would have…if not for their very questionable practices regarding in-app purchases.
If you buy the free version, begin loading it up with in-app purchases such as effects pedals and/or the 8-track mixer, and then decide to upgrade it to the full, paid version…GOTCHA! You discover that IK Multimedia will not transfer your in-app purchases to the upgraded version. You are expected to buy all of those in-apps AGAIN! They do not connect your purchases with you, the user; instead they are tied to the app.
Similarly, if you bought the app on your iPad to learn how to use it, and then want to use the smaller form-factor iPhone or iPod Touch to play the gig…GOTCHA again! They will not transfer your in-app purchases to your other devices either. I was so terribly disappointed to discover this unethical practice from a company that I was initially so excited about. Don't let their "Musicians first" slogan fool you; it's clearly money first. At the very least they should have written something about this in their descriptions, so we know what we're getting into. I hope this helps someone to avoid being unpleasantly surprised like I was. I really love the app…I just don't love this company anymore..Th3 CrowVersion: 2.6

Good for a free version, Use iRig only!Register for the free Distortion Pedal to get more gain out of the amp. Also I just wanted to say that the Amplitube iRig sounds much better than the other cables I've tried from PRS and other companies. Don't use other cables or converters to connect your guitar or it will sound muddy and distorted. I haven't tried the AmpKit LiNK from Peavey but that looks like the only thing that even compares to the iRig, although I seen that unit in the store too and it looks much bulkier than the iRig from IK multimedia. I don't know why but the iRig is actually much smaller than it looks in photos..Junior420Version: 0
IrigJust got it. Not bad, not great, I would say it sounds better than a similar gadget i have. Why is there no volume if the gain is all the way down??
Why is the overall volume so low and why is there a "hiss" when volume and doodads are set at high??
I can not get my "free" distortion box, since i dont have wireless acess to register, fantastic!
Had to upgrade the ipod software, which means i had to upgrade itunes. The process reset my ipod touch to factory settings, Way to go apple! Lost all my contacts, notes and calendar events! APPLE???????
P.S.: The software worked once, now when i click on it i get the loading screen, then it disappears.
So, now i have to waste my life trying to fix it or return the irig hardware.
Also on their website they claim:The free version includes 3 stompboxes

It’s ok...Works well for travelling where you can’t use an amplifier. I found that the amp effects drop out and I have to switch between amps to get them to work again. I also found that it will randomly and suddenly let out a deafening blast of static which is painful to the ears when using ear phones. It may be my settings but I doubt it.
It’s a functional app but I’m not going to spend any more money on the expensive upgrades..Mutt73Version: 4.4.0
I love it!Bought the iRig 2 years ago used all the basic free stuff for quiet home playing and recording and it was fantastic for putting ideas together. I do prefer the iPad layout to the iPhone but that’s only because of screen size. But I Really enjoyed it so I bought the iRig HD 2 just an amazing little device. All the bonus content for the app it comes with is great more then I need I’m sure but it makes the app way more versatile with endless possibilities. Good product - no customer serviceTried calling customer service with an issue and a couple questions. I got a recorded message on a loop saying to fill out the forms online and wait for them to contact me. I don’t spend time online and I’m not interested in filling out long forms and waiting days for a response. I felt with this issue with this company 2 years ago and go nowhere. Now I have another issue with something I downloaded in the past week and if I can’t get someone on the phone you might as well not have any customer service at all. Purchases go awayI bought the full version that includes all amps, which I believe costs $150. After a while it stopped working and IK Multimedia had me re-upload the app. After that my purchase of the complete version was not recognized and I could not access all amps. IK support told me to re-purchase and they would populate for free. A bit skeptical, I did not want to take a chance on losing another $150, so I tried to buy a “SVT pack” for $25; it did not repopulate but instead charged me another $25. Stay away from this app, unless you like to get ripped off AND have an app that does not work properly.Lawnmower expertVersion: 4.14.2
Good Tone, Weird LicensingThe Good:
- Tone is top-notch
- Good selection of models
- CPU-efficient
The Bad:
- Is not at feature parity with the VST version. Where’d all the reverb, delay, and other modules go for post-effects? Where’s the room mics? The DI? That’s some of the best parts!
- Crashes inexplicably. I’m not sure it’s reliable enough for stage work.
The Ugly:
- I was really confused by the licensing. I own MAX, should I have to buy the paid iOS app? Or can I just get CS and it will unlock everything?
- Support. IK Multimedia support is very slow to respond, if at all. When they do… it’s like they’re just trying to get the ticket closed and not actually help you..BrotherDustVersion: 4.14.3

App's okay, mailing list not so hot...So, I was thinking about getting the full version, thought I'd try the trial. They cleverly gate the distortion effect (sort of a big part of a guitar app) behind having to register for an account. I did. I went and checked their privacy settings and so on, made sure I wasn't signed up for any lists, and got my pedal. Then I got a promotional mailing from them. Sure, technically spam since I didn't sign up for it, but whatever, I'll just unsubscribe. Then I got another one a bit later. So... No, I'm not buying the full version, or buying any pedals from them. I am not okay with the "we will put you on a mailing list and not honor your unsubscribe" thing. Mailing lists need to be opt-in.
Sound's okay, I guess. The big win of the app is the tuner. I guess if you wanted all the specialized pedals and stuff, this would be pretty nice, but also quite expensive. (Not, mind you, compared to actual music hardware, but compared to competing apps.)
But yes, I really would rate a product lower because I don't enjoy dealing with the company. Their model is that you have to have an account with them to get pedals, and pedals cost money, so if you want to use this app, you're committing to a relationship with the company, and at that point, their bad mailing list management and support issues become a downside for the app as a whole..The_real_seebsVersion: 2.1
Pay twice for both iPad and iPhone versions....why?The fact that I have to buy both versions is ridiculous! Same goes for the upgrades. The iRig is way over priced for something that feels like it might easily be broken and obviously only cost about $1.25 to make...a cheap plastic shell, a resistor, perhaps a capacitor and jacks....that's it! This is not a highly sophisticated piece of technology....yet it'll cost you over $40!! There are some things that are nice, but the sound is not exactly quality. Wish Line6 would come out with something similar. Nickel and dimeing the customer is not going to gain any friends...offer a pack of effects or include all of them with the full version.
Obviously you need to address the looping error and fix it ASAP...would be nice to see IK at least acknowledge the fact that it exists and are working towards a solution.
I have a feeling that I've been charged twice for the 4 track recorder...once on the free version and once for the paid version. What is with all the double charging IK?!?! Ill gladly update my review if it's not the case or you give owners of the iPhone version the iPad version as well..LilguitarVersion: 0
You get what you pay for and lessNot a great app from a company that makes some great amp plugins for DAWs- but this is NOT great- the iRig interface is pretty flimsy- I don't see it lasting long- it flops all over the place and makes it difficult to work with from an ergonomic point of view- not worth the money they charge-there are definitely better interface devices out there for hooking up a guitar to an iPhone.
The iPad and iPhone apps don't seem to be on parity in terms of features, and the fact that you have to pay for each platform really is LAME-This company claims to be so pro-musician- but this feels real sleazy. Also, I have to say the overall interface on the iPhone is cluttered, difficult to navigate, and cryptic-
It does sound great, but I'm not that desperate to turn my phone & pad into an amp unless it really is easy to use- or economically fair- it's nice you can check out the free version, but i'll be looking for other options until IK gets this together. And I'll return the iRig to Full Compass next week and get my 30 bucks back.....RasputinsRevengeVersion: 2.0.1
Customer Support? So I bought an iRig a few years back, was super excited to be able to get my hands on some of my favorite equipment in digital form. I got the paid version of AmpliTube and bought the Mesa Boogie pack and a cabinet and mic. A few months later my phone broke and I had to get a new one. When I redownloaded the app on my new phone, all my purchases were gone, and the “restore purchases” option didn’t work. I contacted customer support and they said they would look into it. I never heard back from them and haven’t been able to actually get someone to help me since. As a musician on the go, the ability to have great gear fit in my pocket is essential, and having my purchases not saved to my account seems like a really odd decision on the development side of things. I can’t afford to just turn around and fork out another $100-$150 to rebuy what I already purchased. Seems a little shady..TheSeeker91Version: 4.14
Built to for up-selling, not functionalityI'm a big fan of Amplitube and other IK Multimedia products. They sound great and are easy to use. Unfortunately, IK Multimedia fell short with this app attempt. Although the included features are fair, the app is designed around ease-of-use of the offered feature set, but for selling additional items. Rather than offer an in-app market place, Amplitube simply shows you missing spaces and if you accidently touch them it informs you that you are about to make a purchase and asks you to confirm. For example, in the recording application you are offered a single track for recording. If you touch the space of the missing tracks you are only one click away from an accidental, and expensive, app purchase.
I was hoping this free version would inspire me to purchase Amplitube and provide a user friendly experience. Instead, it made me skeptical of any IK multimedia IOS offerings..DC510Version: 2.0.2
Rip off, no good, don't buyI do not recommend this. If anything, buy AmpliTube 4 (or download the hacked torrent version for free). It's far better, AT4 Jimi Hendrix is spot on. The iOS Jimi is so far off it's not even funny. If you tweak it, you can get close, but still off. Another reason for the low score is them cheating me out of money. I had bough separate packs (Jimi, Fender, Orange) and waited to get my iRig HD2 because it gives you a serial for free AmpliTube on iOS. The registration worked for my computer, but not my iPhone, so, no free upgrade (that they promised, bad service indeed). So, I bought the $50 all in pack to get everything (or so I thought). No Mesa Boogie and no tons of pedals, or mics, or loopers...... So I paid $50 when I could have just paid $20 to upgrade two more packs. No refunds, no freebies for ripping me off. I will no longer recommend this to others, but I do recommend downloading AmpliTube 4 for free as a cracked torrent. Have a nice day!.Come on, man!!!Version: 4.3.0
Almost a good appI downloaded the free version on my iPhone 6+. I was able to set up the app and use it with my guitar within just a few minutes. I was able to play the guitar through the phone just fine, but neither of the two stompboxes would change the sound, regardless of the settings.
I did find a couple of issues pretty quickly. First, when you purchase an upgrade, to get ALL of what you paid for, you have to register the software with the vendor. Otherwise you won't get the distortion pedal, which I suspect everyone will want. Second, you have to plug everything in to the bottom of the iPhone. This software only works in portrait mode, so you can't use an iPhone stand with this software unless you can read sideways.
This app is being deleted from my phone. Not a customer friendly company..CarbonFiberGuitarVersion: 4.0.3
DisappointingReally disappointed. Went and bought the i-rig and was all excited to use it. Downloaded the free version with all intentions of buying the full version. I read all the reviews about crashing but I figured maybe they had old iPods or bad luck. Nope. I got it work for a bit and was very disappointed with the limited effects. Specifically distortion (which you dont get until you register). So I figured I'd try some of the add ons but you have to buy them even before you can try them (the other apps at least give a sample). But worst of all...I couldn't even purchase any because the app keeps crashing. So I tried to work with app but keeps crashing. Was mad that I spent 40 bucks on the i-rig but the good news is that it works with jamup and ampkit. So my advice? Pass on this one until they get it fixed..Boutin73Version: 2.9
Very Dissapointed (headphones issues) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Since i bought the irig it only worked until i choosed the speaker option instead of the headphones. It has given me nothing but headaches! I asked for help from them and they were not able to help me fix the problem. I tried everything they told me to try and nothing worked-i even bought a second one. I also bought some of their apps hoping it would help and because i was excited to use them, but i wasn't even able to try them. They later said there was no way to get the headphones option back once you choose the speaker option the first time. And the last time i spoke to them they said my phone was the problem. I'm very dissapointed and feel like it was a waste of money and not to mention my time!!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE!!!!.ElviliVersion: 2.2.2
Beware of all things ik multimedia if u use iPadFalsely advertised as being compatible with iPad Pro 3rd generation. I invested $200 in irig keys 49 , plus $30 for a power supply, plus $30 for a dongle adapter to connect the keyboard to the iPad 3. It simply doesn’t work. All that free software, I can’t download it from my registered ik multimedia account. I can pay $$$ for the apps of course. But even the free app like AmpliTube doesn’t work because neither my iPad Pro or my iPhone X recognizes the keyboard. Wasted money and time because irig keys 49 falsely claims to be compatible with iPad Pro 3rd gen.,,,,,.....at very least. You got me once ikmedia,.........I’ll never be back as a customer and will forever dissuade anyone from buying your product. Also, customer service is non existent if they know you are using an iPad Pro..AcDamnitVersion: 4.10.1
I was charged $9.99 for this "free" appAs soon as I downloaded this "free app," and clicked it on, it gave me the message, "Register now to unlock your free distortion pedal." I clicked register and it asked me to pay, so I didn't proceed. I was so upset by this company's sales technique, that I bought AmpKit instead. I really would have appreciated it if they would have given me the opportunity to compare first.
Today I received a receipt from the Apple store with a charge for $9.99 for Amplitube FREE. If you think that I somehow purchased the more professeional unwittingly, let me tell you that when I start the app it still asks me to register so I can get the free pedal.
I expect that Apple will give me a refund, but they need to fix this and soon. In the meantime, I would wait..Tiger the FrogVersion: 0
Very Disappointing!I was so excited to purchase the iRig and start jamming on my iPhone 4, but after hooking it up I found that you cannot play along with your iTunes library. I knew that the app would not import from iTunes, but I assumed that iTunes could play in the background. I was Wrong!!! The only way to play along with music is to download a separate copy of each song into the app. On top of that, it is limited to 20 songs at a time. I can't even get through one long practice session without having to go back to the computer and swap out songs!
Amplitube and the iRig would be a wonderful tool if not for this ridiculous flaw. Please fix this..Bass snodVersion: 0
Piece of sh**Hasn't been working. I'm playing it through Irig and my schecter Damien-7 elite. I go into setup and the input is going just fine but the output won't work no matter what I do. The metronome goes through fine, but I can only get my instruments sound to come through for a split second while toggling latency options. This app worked the first day I got it and has been nothing but a headache ever since. For those who haven't used it yet, you don't even get a distortion effect without jumping through some hoops. To get anything worthwhile you have to pay and don't even think about upgrading because you'll have to repurchase all your effects again. Bad effects, hidden prices, and barely ever works. Screw this, I'm just gonna play on my Marshall stack from now on.DrskillzVersion: 2.2.2
They do NOT support bass playersThe free version of software and even the iRig box itself all say that it supports bass guitarists. It's a lie. There are no bass heads or cabinet models available in the free version of the software. After shelling out $40 for the iRig, it should be expected that I get some love for playing bass like it says on the frickin' box. NOPE!! you get to play through a guitar amp model. I even emailed Support. They told me to adjust the eq if I wanted more bass. I told him I was ripped off. He said that if I wanted stuff for bass guitar, then I have to buy the add-on software.
SAVE YOUR MONEY! If I had followed through, I would have spent over $65 just to be able to use their product as it is advertised. NO THANKS. At that point, you could pick up a really cheap used practice amp and get by.

BEWARE!!!!!!! Multi Track Recorder is RUBBISHThis app is fine as a stand alone guitar amp emulator. HOWEVER do not purchase the multi track recorder. It will not isolate the playback from what is being recorded. In other words every track that is playing is also routed back into the record track and it is a total mess., making it total useless as a multi track recorder. I contacted customer support and they gave me a BS answer that the input and head phone jack are too close on iPad. ABSOLUTE RUBBISH I use the i rig with garage band and it works flawlessly . I wish i had purchased garage band first and not this piece of junk. I have tried in vain to receive refund but to no avail. Save your money and buy garage band far better and has great amps in it also. AMPLITUDE IS RUBBISH AS A MULTI TRACK RECORDER BEWARE.TecktonspikeVersion: 2.9.6
Acceptable practice tool; Terrible LooperI think the sound (for all that I can hear w/ the "Free" version) is better than my iShred Live. Over all sound was less muffled at the expense of sounding more 'tinny' but clear. The UI is represented w/ a cleaner graphic w/ more sound options (cab, mic...) than the iShred Live.
But as a practice tool, I need the looper to be more functional. Why is Amplitube not updated w/ ability to playback directly from the iPod library?
And BTW, I'm using the Griffin cord (the one I bought when I began using iShred Live), so I don't want to be reminded each time I invoke this app to buy the iRig. My set-up worked just fine..ToshitazawaVersion: 0
What a let downI thought this was great idea. I have the i rig and couldn't wait to play it. The delay effects did not work, and no matter how I tried I could not send or export anything that I recorded. I gave up on the customer service when I was given these instructions
"Sorry to hear that didn't work for you.
That is definitely strange to hear as we haven't received any reports of such
an issue.
You may want to try turning the iPhone off completely and restarting. Do this
by holding down the power/standby button for a few seconds until you see a red
slider that says: "slide to power off". Move the slider and wait until the
iPhone turns off completely. Wait another 10-20 seconds, then turn the iPhone
back on. This will clear the internal memory, and may fix the issue. ..."
There was more to this e mail but, why go on.

Crashes, freezing, annoying pop ups to buy $10 4 track recorderI had read good things about this app, and went out and bought an irig to hook up my guitar. Based on the free version, I cannot recommend this app. 1) No clean sounds. Everything is distorted no matter how you turn the gain on the amp down. I want a clean sound, not distortion. Even with my Parker mojo on piezo settings, and humbuckers turned down, could not get anything close to a clean tone.
2) When I went into the 'master' tab, app would freeze every time.
3) Most annoying of all, it would start with pop ups, "Confirm your 9.99 purchase of the 4 track recorder?' I would hit 'cancel', and the pop up would just come up again, and again. I had to hit cancel at least ten times in a row, before I shut off the app in disgust. When I started it again, I didn't get any guitar sound at all. Reloaded it, same problem, Again, the pop ups on the 'master tab'. I deleted it, and I will be returning my irig hookup to the apple store for a refund.
I was looking forward to this but there is no way I'm risking $4 or $20 to buy the full package when the free version is this buggy, and in the 'hopes' it includes a decent clean sound. Using itouch 3rd gen with OS 4.1. I downloaded 'ampkit' instead and found that one at least worked and didn't give me any pop ups that insisted I buy something. However, 'Ampkit' has the same problem: no clean sounds.
Hey devs, not everyone is playing heavy metal! How hard is it to include a good acoustic sound? Fix the 'buy me!' pop ups. This is total turn off..Shatner's hairpieceVersion: 0
Effects not workingI have the irig but the effects don't work. I only hear the unaltered guitar tone. I was particularly perturbed when I had the same problem with the iPad version. I did manage to get it working briefly but when I turned the device back in the next day the effects weren't working. I have read enough reports of the same thing happening that I think it's unacceptable for this problem to persist. Fortunately, the irig works with GarageBand on iPad and the peavy software. after i question iks business practices he moved the dialogue to a private message n then he banned me from the forum.
i did not rant or curse but simply said that this was wrong.

Absolute GARBAGE!Now I am not normally one to write reviews, but I just couldn't let this one go. This app is a total cash grab and even that would not be too bad if it was at all usable... Free is a little misleading as, in order to use the app, you have to purchase an adapter to plug your guitar in. (I wasted 40 bucks on one) Then, any functions but the bare bones minimum must be purchased as add-ons in app. (this could easily become a $100.00 app if you are not careful! The worst part of all is that the sound quality is complete crap... snapping and popping on songs imported to play along with, and terrible latency issues. Save your money and don't waste $45.00 on this "FREE" app like I did!.RiktoffenVersion: 2.1

SketchyDefinitely some false advertising going on. I bought the iRig2 HD; this product advertises “Comes with AmpliTube 4 for IOS/MAC/PC”, yet AmpliTube 4 doesn’t exist on iPhone. What you actually get is a very stripped down version of AmpliTube CS, containing a very small selection of amps and stomp boxes. It feels like a trial version of their basic software. Buy this product if you want an interface for your mobile device but that’s it. The “bundled software” is surprisingly offensive in that it just serves as a way to make you buy the actual full version of the “included” software after making your initial purchase of the iRig HD2. Spent hours wondering where my copy of AmpliTube 4 was only to learn it doesn’t work on iPhone, despite it being for iOS. I have an iPhone XR btw. So yeah, a mobile interface with a demo version of a basic modeler..Mattman1022004Version: 4.10.1

The irig hd 2 is a fine product but I recommend getting Tonebridge in the App Store because it is leagues ahead of this app and is completely free. Then, they say hey, you get a free amp, which you click download on, and it just brings you to the amplitude app in the store. This is a huge waste of money, and you do not get what is advertised. I searched for an hour on the website to no avail, and when I’m told I’m getting things by the pamphlet in the box the product came in, I should get those things. I registered the warranty and made an account 0 problems, and then when it comes to using amplitude the links don’t even work.
