Zombie Dice Positive Reviews

Frustrated with the bugsBrilliant game overall, and though I like many things about this digital version such as the zombies voice and the overall simplicity, there are just too many problems to make it worth playing. I even paid for the upgraded version and my achievements are still not unlocking as they should be. Ways to make this more enjoyable would be getting the achievements working (and maybe even add more achievements to give the game some longevity, adding additional statistics to log and track, letting us have more control over the dice (forces a reroll when you don’t score brains which I don't see anywhere in the original rule book), perhaps different zombie skins to play against, and explain somewhere what the Game Center nickname is, how it effects the game, and make it so that it remembers your selection so that you don’t have to reselect it every time. I’m not too savvy with modern tech so I’m sure some of the fault here lies on me, but there is definitely a lot of room for improvement to make it more user friendly and less clunky. Overall, I think this is a really amazing game and I hope it gets the love and attention it deserves. Meanwhile, I will be feasting on the brains from my hardcopy of the game and checking back here for updates. Please don’t overlook the potential of this digital version of a masterpiece dice game!!!.Version: 2.2

Great fun, but weak IAPIt's a great game to kill time or have a blast with friends. Just tonight I had a couple drinks and played a few rounds with some friends with a lot if laughs. I only have one problem with it. If you want to play with real people or additional AIs you need to pay $1 to upgrade from the free version. Not a big deal, but you do this through an in-app-purchase that in my case did it carry over between devices. So if want to play a quick round with friends I either need to have my iPad or spend another dollar to upgrade my phone's copy. I know it's not a big purchase, but I always hate spending money on something I already bought..Version: 2.1

Needs more stats. Change 1 rule! There are 2 expansions… Are they ever going to be added into this digital game? I’d play a LOT more if I could see total games played, total won, total lost, win%, loss%, avg score One rule change in this game would make it more strategic; let us CHOOSE which dice to add to the 3 we get to roll. Ex; start game, I might want to CHOOSE 1 red, 1 yellow, 1 green. I roll red shotgun, feet for the other yellow and green. I re-roll those 2 dice AND a third that I get to CHOOSE!! (This is how we play the yphysical game). This game should let us choose when appropriate... this would eliminate some RANDOMNESS in this game. Btw, I payed the $.99 and it lets me add more ai players but so far I’ve seen a whole 2 additional animations. Thats kinda LAME. AT LEAST add different graphic-mugshot faces for the different zombie opoonents (ai) that we play against. And GameCenter achievements are registering... the game sees my nickname but the achievements are not happening (i know i’ve achieved them but GC icon does not enable). There can be soooooo much more to this game. As it is, its too random, too basic, not enough stats... what a shame for a digital game..Version: 2.2

Simple idea well executedI heard of this game for the first time when watching Geek&Sundry's TableTop with Will Wheaton and was thrilled to see they also offer a digital version for iOS devices. The game is fun to play agains the computer or, for $0.99 as in-App-Purchase, against a friend on the same device. And to all those people who feel the need to rate this game badly and throw verbal mud at the developers - really? REALLY? You complain about a game you obviously got for free because all you are doing is playing against the computer, and you still have the guts or need to give a bad rating? It is rigged because you are better when playing the real game? How the dice fall is random, it takes a lot of time to program something that works %100 ALL the time, but even the less sophisticated random generators are about 95% when it comes to randomness. And for a FREE game, heck, even for $0.99 that is a really good deal you are getting here, so stop complaining already! And again, you guys most likely paid nothing, zero, nada, zilch. Get a life, go outside, meet people, maybe work and do something valuable with your time rather than living your false feeling of entitlement. I enjoy playing the game, even though I would love to see some retina images in the near future and maybe the function to play with another player over WiFi on two devices. That would be fabulous! :).Version: 2.1

Cute appWe play the real dice version so I thought it would be fun to get the app, too. It plays out just like the real game so that makes it good for pass and play. The only thing missing is reaching into the cup to get the dice. The zombie noises are funny at first but they get annoying quickly, so I just turn them off. But their text remarks are still kind of funny to read. I bought the full version to support the developer, and in the paid version the AI does not seem to cheat much. Sure sometimes it rolls six or seven brains with no problem, but many other times I've seen zombies get shotgun blasted when they had a ton of brains and no shotguns at that point. All in all it seems pretty fair. It's a really cute implementation of the dice game. Nice interface. Well done all the way around..Version: 2.1

Almost identical to the real game! This is great fun to play, either by yourself or with some undead friends with pass and play. The animations and noises are hilarious and in the true spirit of any Steve Jackson game. The app follows the rules of the game to a T except for one: in the real game, once one player reaches 13 every other player gets a chance to beat that score. In this version if you are at the top of the list and a player below you sets the score to beat, the game ends once the bottom of the list is reached. Please fix this in the next update! It still gets five stars from me as it is still great to play. Both this and the physical game I recommend very highly..Version: 2.1

Pretty fun, one consistent bugThis is a pretty fun game to play without taxing your brain. It doesn't look like the game is being developed or updated nowadays. If you don't type your name in the box before you play, the game just hangs and is unplayable. You can't go back, you cant retype your name, and the only solution is to quit out of the game, go into the multitask window and KILL the game, and then start it over. In conjunction with this bug, if you finish a game and want to play another? You have to type your name AGAIN or face the hang. I don't care about seeing my name in the game, since it doesn't keep track of scores, why should I bother? Answer: to keep the game from crashing. This is on the iPad 4th gen with iOS 8.3.Version: 2.1

Slight disappointmentI agree with what someone said about weighted dice. I’ve played off and on for 3 years, and have probably lost 75% of the time, through trying all sorts of methods. The other disappointment is that I finally decided to update to iOS 11, and the developer has not created this app for that yet. I still enjoy the actual game (including the actual in person game), so I like to keep it around, but now that I have updated, I cannot play it..Version: 2.1

Needed UpDates !!!The game plays extremely well with the original 13 dice. However with the two expansions out we should also have an expansion place for this iOS game. I'm missing the pink hero girl die and guy die. Santa and the bus !! These need to be implemented seeing as it adds so much more to the game. Lastly when playing and said player reaches 13 everyone should have a chance to roll to win. Example if the last player reached 13 then no one after can roll to break the win..Version: 2.1

Love itI almost never rate games but, I love to play this game when ever i have a few minutes to waste. The games are quick and leaderboard rankings through game center show you where you rank. Which is pretty fun to climb. Suggestion read the rules of the game first. Otherwise you wont understand the different colored dice and how to play with strategy. The game rules are easy to learn, you'll be eating copious amounts of brains in no time..Version: 2.1

Fun game, but terrible AIEchoing a lot of what's already been said. The game concept is simple and could be really fun, if it weren't for the fact that the outcomes are weighted HEAVILY in favor of the AI. I can't tell you how many times I've rolled three green shotguns, only to see the AI follow it up with three red or yellow brains. And the instances of the AI rolling 10+ brains in a single turn? Too numerous to count. This obvious programmer's cheat takes away a lot of the fun of the game. That said, it's a great free game. Just don't give them any money until the result generator is more evenly balanced..Version: 2.1

FunI have the dice game and my kids and I love to play. This iPhone version is fun, but I have a couple of problems that keep it from a 5 star rating. 1. The dice game version rules state that when a player scores 13+ the other players get one more chance to beat that players score. In the app version, if the last player scores 13+ the other players automatically lose and don't get one more chance to win. 2. Each Zombie should have their own picture and animation. 3. Should have a setting to auto shuffle players, not just shake to shuffle. I like this game and would recommend it. A couple of tweaks and it would be even better. Also, they should bring out the expansion for it as well..Version: 2.1

Great game! This is a great fun game! One thing I've noticed is that the game will shut down itself after a few minutes of play, fortunately it's always been after a game and not in the middle of one. And I'd like to suggest an achievement be added for a roll of one of each color brain (after all, there's one for rolling one of each color shotgun). This game is worth getting!.Version: 2.1

Welcome BackPlayed this for awhile last year but stopped due to constant in app warnings on the game not having been updated and would cause my device to slow down. I was disappointed. Lo and behold on a whim I check the game app over the weekend to discover it has been updated for iOS11. Now if they can add the two expansions that would make this game even more fun than before!.Version: 2.2

Fun FunI love this... you know how sometimes you just want to play zombie dice? it's frustrating when there's no one around to play the real thing- it's awesome being able to pick this up and play the ai. Also, if you don't have the real thing, I highly recommend that as well. it's a riot at parties--- also, cthulhu dice on the iDevice would be fantastic..Version: 2.1

Actual dice game better than app versionBought the app version of the dice game since I had fun playing the former. Quickly found out that the AI / CPU players are some how rigged to win. How else can you explain the CPU rolling brains on multiple Red dice while the player rolls shots on green dice? App definitely needs to be revisited by developer to make sure the randomness of the roll is the same for players and CPU. This is with the difficulty setting set to low. Besides this flaw it's still a fun game and a great compliment to the dice game..Version: 2.1

Good free game. Crashes a bit though...Like many others, I have the actual dice game and love it. So, it was only natural I get the app. It's a lot easier than packing my dice around. Only down side is that it tends to crash a fair bit after finishing a game and trying to start a new one. Other than that, it's been fine. Now granted, I have not upgraded, so I can't comment on the stability after doing so....Version: 2.1

I play over and overI have the dice game, so I got the app to try. Read the directions to know what's going on, it makes it more fun. This is one of my favorite games, but I have to agree that the AI cheats. Paying for the app fixed that problem for me--how convenient! Minus a star for the free version that's impossible to win..Version: 2.1

Wish it was better.I love this game in real life. I bring it with me lots of places. I thought this app would make it easier, but alas, no. The app only works well with an iPhone 4, not 4s or 5. In the 4s and 5 the hand that rolls dice is very choppy and distracting. Also, no version lets you be continuously signed in to the Game Center. You must delete your name and add it again for games to count. It's okay, but it needs serious work to be more compatible..Version: 2.1

Needs to be updatedI love the physical version of this game. It deserves a better app than this. It's still being advertised on the website and in the game directions, so it should be updated and improved. Also it should have the two expansions available for purchase..Version: 2.1

Lots of funI've got the physical dice game and my family loves it. This is a nice way to play it on the go. The app could be more polished, but the gameplay is there. The upgrade is worth it. Would be nice if a brain counter were added so that it could be used as an accessory to the physical game. I'd pay an extra buck for the hunk/hottie/santa dice too..Version: 2.1

Great for the money. It's hard to beat the real thing, but when your without the dice and you have few minutes it's a fun mindless game. My only gripe would be for an update to let me replay without having to type my name in again. Ok, not my only gripe. A second gripe is that when I do type my name in, the keyboard covers the input box..Version: 2.1

Upgrade for the expansion!!!Downloaded this for free (I'm cheap like that) and I love it! Its a great little diversion when your waiting in line or something like that! But I definitely agree with others in that the AI typically rolls ALOT better than I do! That said, I have the real game plus expansion and the expansion makes it even more fun with three new dice! Please upgrade for the expansion!!!.Version: 2.1

Needs ExpansionGreat app and I've only been playing the free version. Does the expansion come with the full version? I would buy it for sure if t did but I don't see anywhere that it does... The extra three dice in the expansion on the real version gives it a little more spice. Please add it!.Version: 2.1

FunIt acts just like the physical version of the game. It's a simple yet fun idea. The only thing that feels cheap/bugged is when you're not allowed a second chance turn when your opponent has reached 13 brains. You're supposed to, yet only the other "player" is given that turn. It doesn't always happen..Version: 2.1

Cute, but clunkyIt's ridiculous that you have to re-enter your name every time you play. There's no option to just play again as the same player - back to the main screen, type your name in again. Signs of an unthought-out design. But the gameplay is cute (though the slow animations on AI rolls get old quickly, and there aren't enough different zombie taunts)..Version: 2.1

Please updateI loved this game!!! I have the dice at home to play with my family and the app on my phone to play by myself or with coworkers. I hope the update comes out soon so it’ll work on the new iOS bc it’s only been two days and I already miss this game.Version: 2.1

MehSomething flashes on the screen and interrupts the game every move. It's very distracting. Game Center connection doesn't work and my local achievements don't appear there. Game is hard, I win maybe 1 in 6. But it wouldn't be much fun if I won all the time anyway. It would be nice if it showed the distribution of dice left in the cup..Version: 2.1

Fun but needs 2 fixesFun game, but needs 2 fixes. First... Game freezes when you tap on "Scores" (have to completely close out and reopen). Second... It would be nice not to have to tap "Next Player" every time. Simply having to tap the next roll should be sufficient. Otherwise no complaints..Version: 2.1

Great!I love this game but sometimes I think the game is cheating for the zombie to win. I would get the full version but not worth the money. The full version should just be free or at least make the free version so you can play with friends. I think I am just going to get the real life version..Version: 2.1

Love it!!!!Wish they added the double feature expansion on here also if you could play on wifi instead of pass n play. I would definitely pay for those things. Still love the game and the real game!!.Version: 2.1

Fun, mindless gameI played the free version (single player) and enjoyed it. It has not crashed. I upgraded to the paid version so I can play it with friends. Still no crashes. I have an iPad 3 and am signed into Game Center. I wish it showed the dice eliminated from the pool..Version: 2.1

So glad they updated for iOS 11!My daughter and I really missed this game while it was unplayable. This is one of our favorite time wasters when we’re waiting for something. Can’t wait to eat her brains again!.Version: 2.2

Multiplayer whaaaatWe love Steve Jackson games but wish the developer would support the games we have bought. Can’t use upgraded (1$) multiplayer on additional devices and no updates to any of the dice games in forever (can’t even play Dino dice anymore). Hello Steve Jackson are you there??? P.S. please do munchkin on iPad!!😬👍.Version: 2.2

Never played the physical versionThis game seems like a great time passer. It would be very easy to teach and a fun party game as long as you have something else to play alongside it. Definitely considering getting the real thing..Version: 2.2

Good game.Love the game. I'd love for online support. I have the dice game and the family loved it and I showed them the app. They live elsewhere, but it would be cool for an online mode so we could play more often. It would easily be worth an in app purchase. Local mode would be cool, but online via game center would rule..Version: 2.1

No Name?Great game, but the current version will not save my player name from one game to the next, and it also won't allow me to leave it blank. Uninstall & reinstall doesn't help. Fix this please..Version: 2.1

This is a fun game, but the computer player cheats.First of all, I love this game, but it cheats. The computer player is unrealistically lucky with it's rolls and the player is equally unrealistically unlucky on it's rolls. The random result generator needs this issue addressed..Version: 2.1

This was fun, but nowThis was a fun game; a way to kill time while waiting. But ever since the iOS update (to iOS 11) I can't play this on my phone any longer. This is a very sad state. I truly enjoyed this game....please update this to be compatible with iOS 11. Other than that, I'd gladly give this 5 🌟.Version: 2.1

Not Bad... Not GreatThe actual dice game is obviously better, but this version is still fun (especially since it's free). Though, I do agree with others. You will notice that the computer will tend to roll much better than you will. Maybe the paid version is more balanced..Version: 2.1

UghMy only beef with this game is that it doesn't follow it's own rules. In the real game after somebody rolls 13 or higher the opponents are supposed to still have one more turn to try to get a higher score than the opponent which this game does not allow. Frustrating..Version: 2.1

So funAlmost as fun as the real dice version. But it lack the trill of playing with real dice and the possibility of choosing your dices base on what color already been played. Still this is diffinitly a keeper. I would even pay some money to have an i proved version.Version: 2.1

The real dice version is more funHmm. I mean, it's the official version and all but the real dice version is more fun. Nothing special. Not bad, just not great. Wasn't thrilled that "multiplayer" was an in-app purchase. That smacks of cheap to me. Good game and all, but not as fun as the real thing..Version: 2.1

It’s dopeMy dice version will always be my favourite but it’s a good app for what it tries to be..Version: 2.2

Ok way to burn a few minutes sitting in a waiting room.I downloaded this a few years back after reading about it in the actual dice version I got (after watching Wil Wheaton’s TableTop episode about it). At first it seemed like a solid app, but then I started noticing all the little bugs. Like the weird odds for rolls. Or the app would crash after a couple games. Or you would have to re-enter your name at the start of every game. Just odd random stuff. After a while of just bearing it I finally had enough and deleted the app. Fast forward a couple years. I don’t have my group of friends to play the actual dice with anymore so I pulled the app out of mothballs to get my fix. Low and behold, it got updated. A lot of those bugs seem to be absent. There is only one name for the zombie opponent now (used to be one of several chosen at random), but it also remembers my name now. The dice animation is smoother, but also a lot slower, dragging down the pace of the game. The odds seem a bit more averaged out. So the game has improved some big things, but it’s hurt its play speed in the process. TLDR: odds are semi-better, game remembers player settings better, not as many crashes, but it plays much slower than it used to..Version: 2.2

Not working anymoreNot working with iOS 11😩🙁☹️🤔.Version: 2.1

Bring expansionsGood game but needs expansions and iit will be awesome.Version: 2.1

Simple and FunGood way to pass some time.Version: 2.1

Great gameDid not like at first but it grew on me retryed it since it was a steve Jackson game he is a realy nice guy thanks for signing my program at halcon hopefully well get my munchkin games done.Version: 2.1

Love it!I liked it so much I upgraded to the full version! I already knew about the physical dice game, but this was a pleasant surprise. I like the idea of trying these games on my own before playing against other people. I hope more Steve Jackson games get turned into apps- hey, isn't there a Cthulhu Dice game too? (wink wink nudge nudge).Version: 0

Braaaai- *ahem* I Mean, Cool GameSimple but compelling. Is it me, or does the zombie use loaded dice? :-).Version: 0

Simple brain eating funMmmm. Brains.Version: 0

Fun time killerI'm definatly getting the real zombie dice game.Version: 0
