Quite handyI found this app to be quite useful. It acts as a file store that will hold any file, not just those that can normally be transferred via iTunes. It previews most file types, allowing documents to be read in full, images displayed, and audio played. It gives the option to open files in the appropriate app as well assuming an app is available. It can even send files via email. I really don't understand the low scores given by many people, but they either didn't read the description of the app before installing it, or didn't bother to read the very simple instructions that are included as a document within the file list inside the app. Honestly people, learn to RTFM before claiming something doesn't work. If the app was password protected or was able to lock files or folders with a password I would be extra happy with it. Using this on an iPad, the advertising, while large, doesn't get in the way of things. After all, this is a free file storage app, not an editing app, so screen real estate isn't at a premium..RandomcVersion: 0

I Prefer it over my iPad and IPod touch's native media viewersThis app was disappointing at 1st but after adding a few extensions to it I fell in love with it, I stopped using the native viewer and browser for movies on the iPad because this app is much more convenient and also let's me play 1080p videos which iTunes otherwise refuses. This app is much better compared to the other USB apps out there. Pros: It's free Great folder structuring Password lock (extension) Overall robust viewer for files, lots of files supported. Plays 1080p videos. Thumbnail previews for images Cons: Occasional crashes and instability, not major. Some issues in viewing .docx files, does not always scroll the file fully. OK I guess...Now, I am not going to rate this app badly only because there are better alternatives - it does what it promises and that's nice - but, and this is a big but, it is completely unnecessary if you use DropBox. Since the time I got my iPad I only used iTunes bloatware once, and that was for the five seconds it took to activate the iPad. Since then I have uninstalled iTunes from my computer completely again (speeds it up considerably because all that iTunes baggage is not longer taking up processor time, bandwidth, and memory) and I simply use DropBox to sync everything... This USB Disk software still requires you to have iTunes wasting your desktop's resources, it still requires you to connect via USB while, with DropBox your iPad simply grabs all files you drop into your DropBox folder on your desktop, and the DropBox app takes only about 1/50 of the system resources iTunes does. So my opinion about this app: Go for it if wasting your system resources to iTunes bloatware doesn't bother you, but use DropBox instead if you prefer more freedom and convenience..Private iPadVersion: 0

Handy but not completeThis is a handy app to have similar to dropbox except it is all local which is nice for those who need files without Internet. But it's difficult to get files on this app because you have to use iTunes which for many people is a drag. The email implementation is nice and the open with is very helpful. Now I see you can email files to get them in this app but to get them off you have to email again or use iTunes. What would be a handy addition to this would be to sync with Dropbox or some online storage. This would make it easier to get files off if there is no computer you can sync with. Great app with one flawI have loaded quite a few documents onto my ipad using various apps like this. I constantly bring all the documents to the USB disk app b/c it just works. The only problem that I have is that some of the powerpoint presentations wont open all the slides when in full screen mode. The easy fix is to look at the same presentation in with local files showing and you can see everything. For free, I can deal with that work around. Once they fix this problem, Air Sharing and Filer are most likely gonna be deleted from the ipad..SSGMedicVersion: 0

This version of USB Disk works well with the iPad 2I began using drop box as a convenient way to transport and view files on iPhone, and it has been an exceptionally useful tool. When I purchased my iPad I initially thought I'd have to find some other similar tool designed to work on the iPad, so I was very pleased to discover that it not only works, but works well! Great Utility AppA great app that I use almost daily; mainly for viewing and storing attachments from emails, but also to keep some handy reference docs on my iPad. Let's you create folders to arrange files, and you can rename and move files between folders. Another bonus is the ability to drag and drop files from iTunes during syncing. Lifesaver!I had to use extra long pdfs for research while trying to finish my essay. I was in a car and couldnt print anything then I downloaded this app and BAM! a 64 pg pdf in great quality with zoom. Then I sent it via email to my partner and didnt fail the class. A bit unstableI like this app, but it is undependable with large PDF files. It seems like it can't take the load. The app crashes regularly upon loading a large file (28MB), which is rather frustrating. This does not happen with the iPod (4th gen. 32GB) version! And the iPad (iPad2 3G 64GB) is a much more robust device. Go figure. Me too application...I may be missing something, but this doesn't do what I thought it did -- i.e. allow me to use the iPad as a USB storage repository by plugging it into any Mac (not!!) -- like the old iPhones used to be. And what it does do has been done by other applications for a long time -- before iPad. I've had Air Sharing for a long time which does this stuff wirelessly AND with drag and drop into iTunes. It costs money but doesn't represent itself to do what it doesn't do. AND with Air Sharing I can wirelessly connect to ANY computer or MobileMe which I can't do with this one -- USB or no USB. So i'm having a real problem figuring out the value-added for this app and WHY it is "new art." The Developers are scammers! Please ReadI was really excited when I saw that the new update would do zip files. However, when you see zip files you see this word (extension) this means that it is not actually available until you download a few third parties apps. Some of them these apps require that you buy an app. Once you download some third party app you will have to wait a few hours before you can use the zip extension. This is lowest form of an app. Boycott this app until the developers stop sponging off of there customers. These developers are a perfect example of scammers.
