Bloomberg Professional App Comments & Reviews
Bloomberg Professional Positive Reviews
Good. But needs improvement and added featuresGood, but needs added features. Like a more detailed and organized MON and businessweek magazines section. Also the ability to track portfolio groups in RT. Ability to read magazines subscriptions and newsletters. Overall features improvements are needed. There’s a big gap between the terminal and the app abilities..Version: 2.1812
Great for Research and Preset MonitorsCan update research notes, access street research and also navigate through other offerings much easier than past versions. Doesn’t have all the functions of the terminal, but pretty great for monitoring names while traveling, accessing news and saving down documents to IPad or IPhone that allow you to read them offline. Thanks BBG developer team!.Version: 2.1906
BBG on the goI can use IB and MSG without having to log in on the computer! News with alerts are great so I can see article titles on the locked screen, my preferred setting for all news apps, so I can click on the ones I want to read. Latest markets info is there, securities I search on the terminal show up as recent ones on the app and my favorites are saved. It’s great when I’m on the road, running around between meetings (okay, sometimes during meetings) and on evenings/weekends without cutting into my free time like it would otherwise. So glad my teammate showed me how to use it!.Version: 2.2202.1
Great, with in thing missingI’ve mentioned this idea a few times to our Bloomberg account rep, the app needs to have the Most Active function which is a valuable tool on the desktop program to see what stocks are moving within indices, stock screens, etc..Version: 2.1914
When can I log in Bloomberg terminal using IOS version Bloomberg app?One thing that often let me feel disappointed is to sync BUnit when I need work remote. I would like to have the way Interactivebrokers verify the authentication through IPhone fingerprints..Version: 2.1911
App ImprovementsExcellent APP if you haven’t leveraged it for new communication feature in past 6 months you should do so. A lot of great new feature available.Version: 2.2003
Getting thereThe app is great for some things (IB and news in particular) but has inexplicable feature gaps. It’d be great if it could support EMSX, provide more fixed income functions, and generally continue to move in the direction of making more of the terminal accessible on the go..Version: 2.2108
It’s okWhile it’s not as user friendly as the terminal, it’s better than not having access when out of the office..Version: 2.1810
Bad updatesOverall solid for checking news, but really need to reinstate the sort/filter function for research reports. Made no sense to take that out. Otherwise, would’ve been a 4-5 star review..Version: 2.2318.1
Perfect on M1 MacBook AirThis is a great option for Bloomberg Profesional on a M1 MacBook Air since there is no native install. Any chance you will approve this for a native download as post 11.3? Thanks again!.Version: 2.2108
Horrible UX updateThe most recent UX update is very counterintuitive. A large chunk of space on both side. Big waste of my screen space..Version: 2.1811.1
Solid app, solid developer responsivenessNot complete terminal functionality, but large availability of useful functions..Version: 2.2109
I miss EQS and other functionsFor bloomberg go be a mobile first company they need to include not only security and monitors but all functions from the terminal as well.Version: 2.1711
Good for quick things, but weak for credit investorsGood app for IB, news on the go and basic market level tracking. Unless I’m missing something, I’ve found no credit oriented screens with functionally like on the terminal (CAST, YAS, HOAS, QR, QMGR, x credit CF) to name a few..Version: 2.1910
B-Unit featurePlease add the B-Unit feature. That way we won’t have to carry the bbg fingerprint scanner with us all the time!!!.Version: 2.2011
Vastly improved over the yearsJust waiting for them to add MAV..Version: 2.2008
Let me see a monitor on the dashboardHi, please give us a chance to see a monitor, or worksheet with securities on the dashboard..Version: 2.1901
Good to haveGood app. I like how I get notifications on my phone..Version: 2.2018
This is how you do an appFolks, you have to pay for this service. It's about $2300 a month (with exchange fees) but that's what it takes to play in the pro's. For those who don't understand, this app is a perk for Bloomberg Terminal users who are investment professionals. Tip of the spear. Not your pappy's stock broker peddling mutual funds but but people who actually drive the capital markets every day. I wish everyone could enjoy news that doesn't include mindless adverts and hype about the Kardashians or nonsense about Trumps hair. This app (and the Bloomberg service) isn't about driving ad dollars. It's about delivering information for real professionals who are gladly willing to pay for it. These days all of you have allowed advertising to corrupt your content and your perception of what really is news. Here we get the real deal. In plain amber fonts without even photographs. It's not sexy and we like it that way. Like the old days. The only suggestion I have for the developers is to make the app more like the Bloomberg Terminal service. Make it as close to that experience as possible. I've been a Bloomberg subscriber since 1993. That's about $650,000 I've paid in fees for the service. And I'll keep on paying until it stops making me money..Version: 2.1703
Works greatThis app works perfectly. I use it with touch ID which is better then using your B Unit obviously. I am usually on my terminal but the full functionality is there. Of course the homescreen is optimized for your phone so you probably will not use this to chart multiple securities. When you login here, its logs your terminal off. Also you will get calls from customer service if you forget your b-unit (24/7 so that 2am call is coming from overseas lol). I get my notifications for various features (daybook etc.) exactly when they come out. The price is $2500 a month but actually its free with your bloomberg anywhere membership. I would not pay more then $1000 a month for just the app (i only use it once in a while) but anyone in finance already has a terminal so just make sure you have a bloomberg anywhere terminal. Its nice to stay connected, like when you're at the airport or stuck in traffic..Version: 2.1511.1
Good start, room to improveFirst off, this apps is not for you if you are not already a bloomberg anywhere customer. That out of the way, my benchmark is the blackberry version that I regularly use. This version is very nice by comparison. There are two modes. One, you log into using your bloomberg id. From there you can log into a citrix-like bloomberg anywhere where you can see your familiar screen real estate from a regular bloomberg session. You're warned not to do this with a 3G connection. I found that I can live with the first mode but noted a few alpha software type glitches. When reconfiguring the panels for the front screen the whole app fails to launch. I've tried two versions but the only fix is a re install. I complained on bbg chat "help help" that the chat functions were only available in the terminal login mode. They told me they were working on adding this feature to the main screen. Pros: looks nice, lots of screen real estate Cons: not as stable as the blackberry version (yet) and no chat functionality without the high bandwidth terminal login.Version: 1.1.4
Fast and always usefulSo useful, obviously limits compared to desktop, but I use this every single day. Love the daybreak podcast !.Version: 2.1803
Add download offline optionSo I can read on subway!.Version: 2.1803
Great app.Don't leave a negative review if you didn't read the description. It clearly states that the app is only accessible to users with Bloomberg terminals. Then you can generate a B-unit token. Love the app..Version: 2.1801
No support from iPhoneImprovements keep rolling in but too many bugs come with it. Hyperlinks to full story in message have disappeared in the latest November release. Very odd that there's no support mechanism in place from iPhone..Version: 2.2.6
Excellent appAll the features of a Bloomberg workstation (except for launchpad) now available on an iPad! Interface is easy to use. Provides access to two panels and IB Manager + real time quotes.Version: 1.0.2
Live the app!! Worth getting an ipad/iphone just for appThis is amazing!! With the bloomberh anywhere app all my wildest dreams have come true! Im a bloomerg anywhere subscriber and the fact that i have the full bloomberg terminal accessible from my ipad is just wonderful. Sure it doesnt have multiple windows or launchpad as far as i know, but its not supposed to be a replacement for your computer. I just love using the ipad app instead of my computer for smaller tasks. Te iphone bloomberg anywhere app just got released and thats a wonderful Addition to already having an ipad. One minor thing i noticed is that in iphone version on homescreen there is an option for "portolio" where i can go into my individual portfolios and see performance. This is something thats missing from the ipad app. Sometimes i dont want to launch the full terminal and use my b-unit on ipad, and just quickly be ale to glance at world markets commodities and my portfolios from that main page when ipad app starts with the 2x2 grid multiple pages. Would be great if you could add a "portfolio" option to ipad app just like its present on iphone..Version: 2.0
