Limited GPS AccuracyApp layout is fine (I prefer even simpler layout), but I have now downloaded 5 golf gps apps on my iPhone 6+ and they are all equally inaccurate. They are all inaccurate enough to not use while playing. I recommend it to everyoneThe best money I've spent for golf. The app works extremely well, even better than someone I'm playing with using a rangefinder. I don't know where the bad reviews come from but I guess it depends on the person. It works fantastically in the NJ/PA area. But I've taken in all over and never a problem. Also works on private courses. My only recommendation is to hibernate your phone in between shots. If you leave it on and the app the whole time it kills your battery. But if you hibernate it there is no problem. Because of this app, your will never have to buy a gps watch, range finder or gold gps. It app is a financial no brainer because the fact that you can see a satellite view of what is a head of you on any hole and how far out the hazard is allows for smarter play. Can't do that with a range finder or a golf watch. Maybe worth a range finder but they're like $250..DankbuddieVersion: 1.10.1

Used this app all over AZ, CA and UT and has always worked great!A play 1 to 3 times a week and have say is this app always has worked for me exceptionally well! It’s my go to. I have paid for a few apps that are as much as $20 dollars and I come back to this app almost every time I play golf. App really worksMy friends and I flew to Phoenix for 4 days of golf. I forgot my range finder so decided to try this out. I'm as cheap as they get but I decided to throw 2$ at it. Skydroid really does work. I was surprised. Distances were really accurate. What I liked: + easy course search and fast download. + the PAUSE feature really saved my battery. I was worried the constant GPS updates would drain my iPhone 5s battery. However if you simply hit the pause button it stops location services till u need it next. Just unpause and your range will update. + hole overview (map view). First time to these courses and the map overview really helped to see what was over the hill or around the corner. + distances seemed very accurate to front, middle & back of green. I'd occasionally compare the app readings to yardage markers and they were spot on. - this app does not fix my golf swing 😜 Yes: I would recommend this app I am a real person - not paid or fake. I've never reviewed an app but this one was worth mentioning. Only 4 stars because I had to restart the app a few times . I'd unpause and the distance would go null even after waiting for a few seconds. Kind of a pain to restart then move to the hole I was playing. $2 Gets you hundreds of dollars in value!What a great app. I've been looking for a good golf app that can help me on the course. This is truly a gem of an app! For only $2, you wouldn't expect very much. However, I was able to find the courses that I wanted to play this past weekend. One was a city course and the other was a country club. Both were available for download. There are no additional costs to download courses. Not only will this app give you an overview of each hole you play, but it will also track your drives or any other shot for what you wish to know how far you hit the ball. Once you get to your ball, it is highly accurate to the front middle and back of the green. It also shows you yardage to each bunker or hazard, which is very useful off the tee or for your approach shot. It is almost like a golf video game in the palm of your hand, except you still have to execute the shot yourself and not with a game controller. I played on Sunday with a friend who has a Bushnell yardage finder, and it was as accurate as this app. I couldn't believe it! Kudos to the developers! Don't delay, get this app right now! Works great. Accurate, simple, cheap.Met a guy on my course walking a quick 9 after work. Our course has laser range finders on the carts, so I haven't had a great urge to spend $300 for a Skycaddie. But when I walk or play a different course, I wish I had one. So I tried 3 other iPhone apps; all drained my battery, and all were cumbersome enough to use that I found it distracted from my round. So when I saw this guy using his iPhone for distances, I needled him: haha, your battery is probably fried by now after 5 holes. He said nope, it'll last the whole round and then some - told me to download SkyDroid right then. I did. It took maybe a minute over 3G. By the next hole I was completely sold. This app is fast, simple, accurate, and doesn't drain your battery. It automatically advances to the next hole, even I'd you don't use it for an entire hole. It's always at the right place. Good applicationThis is only as accurate as the maps that are in the system. I noticed that on one course the X's on the greens were not accurately placed, so everyone who uses the map will be a little off. I think this is partly because the maps are created by users, some of whom are more careful than others. I created a map of my course. So if you know the course, you should check the map first, to, for example, make the center mark on the green is actually in the center. If it isn't, it is fairly easy to get access to the map and correct it. You need to do this before you go to the course because the editing has to be done on a large screen of the desktop in order to be accurate. You can fairly freely edit the maps. Make sure you get the largest image you can for placement of the marks. Great program....JACK OVERPARVersion: 1.9.1

Best Golf GPS App Period!I was kinda skeptical about the app after reading some of the reviews on it discussing the delays in yardages and some courses not being mapped. I figured it's just 2 bucks, why not? Tried it with my foursome. It was side by side with a skycaddie, golf logix, and a Garmin device. If the app was not giving identical yardages, it was 1 yard off from the others. But, for hundreds of dollars less. I've tried other apps that needed my phone to be at 100% battery life at the 1st tee just to have it drain my battery by the 15th fairway. Not with sky droid. Started with 95% and finished with 60%. Outstanding! Don't waste your time and money with the others. As far as the delay goes, it was no different from the other 3 devices. Great for we amateursAlthough I've only played regionally in Central Minnesota, every course I've played has been available on this app. I don't know how often maps are updated, if ever, as one hole on my old home course had distances listed all short of the green. The distances were correctly placed on the closeup photo, but the back of green measurement is 15 yards short of the green. Otherwise, my measurements are within a yard or two of guys' with lasers. Only issue is I use up my battery if I turn off the auto shut off for four hours, or I'm constantly having to re-open the phone..Stuart H.Version: 1.9.1

Excellent Golf GPS AppI love the simplicity and ease of use of this app. I've used this app for over a year now. During that time I tried several others with fancier artwork and more "features". Several times I would start a round with the other app and a couple of holes in would switch to this app. I found other apps had too many screens to navigate and drained my iPhone battery quickly. I also do not want to spend much time between shots fiddling with my phone... get in, get the info, get out and get my head in the next shot. I also like being able to check the mapping myself. I'm a believerDownloaded this app Thursday night as well as my local courses. Also downloaded the course I played the very next day and it worked flawlessly. Yardage was spot-on (within 1-2 yards on every hole). Still have over 50% battery after the round, the pause function is great. I give it a 5 star b/c of the price and ease of use, I also seen where this developer is going to add a scorecard and a couple of other options that have been mentioned. In short, my advice is to get it now b/c it would be easy for this app to cost more and I wouldn't be surprised if the cost goes up. Simple. Fast. PerfectI ususally don't review apps but this one is so genuinely good I had to get the word out there. Could not ask any more from an app. It is simple to use and provides GPS distances very quickly. The app is very intuitive and I appreciate that it isn't bogged down with scorecards, user stats, etc. A great feature of this app is that you can go online and plot any course the way you want. PhenomenalI've been using the sky droid app for about two years now. If you don't mind playing with your phone in your pocket, you'll love this APP. It's so easy to use and so convenient. Highly recommend for any skilled golfer. I'm a 15 HC, and I try to get out as much as possible. Distances are very accurate to the front, middle, and back of the green. I haven't really used the overview feature yet, but it seems to work well. Definitely worth the $1.99! Terrible, inaccurate, a total joke, can’t believe I paid for this app!Used at same time with Golfshot several times during round at Sedona resort I was on par 3 tee placard with distance to center and golfshot was one yard off SkyDroid was 34 yards off and 13 yards off another time I was at the 150 and it read 179 to golfshot’s 148. Also does not display yards to hazards you have to go into the zoom and then look at the hole satellite shot and do the math -basically like a yardage book. Major Problems w An Old FavoriteUPDATE: After writing my original review below, I decided to delete & reinstall the app on my phone; that made things worse! Several courses that I have played using SkyDroid are no longer available for download. I tried both on my iPhone and on my desktop computer at the SkyDroid web site; those courses have disappeared from SkyDroid. So, I decided to follow the suggestion to map a course using SkyDroid’s mapping tool; that failed to work on both my desktop computer and iPhone. I am waiting to hear back from the developer(s), but at this time, I’m very discouraged and disappointed. An app that used to be one of my favorites is now almost useless to me. I hope that all of my issues will be resolved, but unless that happens, I cannot recommend SkyDroid to anyone, nor can I give it more than one star. I have been using SkyDroid for several years, and until recently, had been thrilled with it. However, during the past couple of months, it has been giving very incorrect distances to the green for anywhere from one to four holes during an 18-hole round. This has occurred on at least three different courses. For example, my ball might be sitting near the 150 yard marker, yet SkyDroid will indicate 240 yards to the middle, 260 yards to center, and 280 to the back. I have completely quit the app, then relaunched it - no change. I have enabled SkyDroid to use my phone’s Location Service at all times - no improvement. Occasionally, if I wait a minute or two, and gently shake my phone, the yardage numbers will improve - but not always to the correct distance. I am very disappointed, because SkyDroid had been one of my favorite and most used apps. I love the simplicity of a basic yardage provider; I do not want or need the ability to keep my score or track the distance of shots with each club.
