My favorite editing app ✨🥰🌈This is an honest to god review...I’ve been using Meitu for probably almost two or three years now. It’s my favorite editing app and my immediate go-to for selfies and food pics before I put them online. With so many money-grabbing apps out there, Meitu is such a great app to use even without purchases. That being said, there are things Meitu doesn’t offer that other apps do. It’s not Photoshop, so you can’t be as precise as you want or use it necessarily as an “photo editing app” outside of making things aesthetically pleasing (no cutting and pasting or duplicating, no layers), but you can control the strength of effect filters and beauty filters that are so, so well done and really fun for me (especially since it’s Japanese-styled and I’m American!). I wish my photo quality could be higher without sharing, but I can’t be choosy with a free app. I know I read an article about Meitu nearly having its plug pulled about a few months ago so I’m happy to see it still updating with awesome effects and features every month. I usually really like this app but its been acting really weird lately.Ok so I use it to edit videos and it’s usually fine but it hasn’t been letting me put in the clips. I try to put in a super short video and then it gives me a warning in a language I can’t read and the video doesn’t go into the thing. It’s like it’s trying to tell me that it’s too long of a video even if it’s like 15 seconds. Also, the other day when I tried to click on a draft of a video, it said that the draft had been damaged (a picture or video had been deleted) when it hasn’t, none of the videos were deleted. So I lost all my hard work for no reason. And even if something was deleted, you should still be able to click on it because you work so hard on something then one thing is deleted and you have to start all over. Also, it says that I have a lot of stuff downloaded but when I click to see what’s downloaded there is nothing there. It’s taking up all my storage yet there is nothing to delete. Usually I don’t have a hard time with this other than the lagging and the only being able to use a transition every other clip, but it’s fine. Also a suggestion would be to have a bar (like with the filters and transitions) to adjust the intensity of the affects. :).Rosemary MadelineVersion: 9.2.11

My favoriteI love this app and how easy it is to use !! there’s honestly so much variety and different makeup styles to choose from without relying too much on vip accessibility. I just like to experiment with them and see which best suits me. it’s so realistic too unlike other apps where it’s obvious there’s a filter on. you can edit your face, makeup, hair, skin, teeth, and body it’s just the perfect app to touch up any imperfections. I like how in the lipstick section you can choose what color of lipstick they have for you and if you want another shade you could pick one from the color wheel and choose yourself. there is something else that you could try like changing the texture and blend to it. it makes you look so pretty in the end! I just REALLY REALLY want new updates with video retouching because it seems like there’s less options. I absolutely love this app.I know i know. reading a review on apps have a high likelihood that they will be bots or fake for one reason or another. i think everyone should take what i say with a grain of salt, because this app can have a great impact with body dysmorphia and should be avoided if you're someone who has issues with that. i fell in love with this app though. although there is a paid feature, you can still get a LOT out of it without having to pay. and even then, there is a free trial. be warned that once you see what you're missing it is IMPOSSIBLE to go back lol. i absolutely love the AI features. from the AI art to the smart board to the creativity section, they are so useful for much more than just selfies. i can make art. Powerful and easy to use editing toolThis app is amazing for editing your selfies, especially for a free app. The dark circle tool can lighten up unwanted shadows, not just under-eye circles. (The highlight tool in comparison is pretty useless.) The reshape tool, which changes the size and shape of individual features, looks subtle and natural if you don’t drag the slider too far. The slimming tool can drag parts of the image around to, say, make your face look longer or shorter. However I’d say the lighting filters aren’t as good as B612’s, so I like to take the selfie in B612 first and then edit it in Meitu. Editing your selfies might seem dishonest, but the front camera distorts your face and lighting a bit and you can use Meitu to bring it back to what you see in the mirror. Video Quality RestoreLong story short, I edit videos but need the quality improved with every single one, so I downloaded Meitu. It worked great, was simple to use, but one day it randomly told me that all of my “freebies” had been used with the image quality repair feature while I was editing a video. I don’t have the premium version, but I was using the app after seven days (which is when you can start the free trial) and didn’t really have an issue, so of course I assumed it was a free feature then one random day, boom, no more image quality repair cause “freebies” were used. I can only improve the quality of one video a day and it’s a little inconvenient, but isn’t TERRIBLE. I just wish I had some sort of heads up before that happened. Two recommendations to the developers if the features don’t already exist (haven’t updated the app yet); 1. Make an easy way for us to keep up with our “freebies.” Allow us to see how many we have left and how much time we have until they’re restored. 2. Alternatively, if it can be afforded, make people watch unskippable ads for more access to certain features (image quality restoration for videos and photos for example). Personally, I’d rather watch a 15-30 second ad than wait for an undetermined amount of time to improve the quality of my photos or videos. Great AppHi I’ve been using Meitu for a few years now and I love it ! The only app I use for all my editing needs I never had a problem using this app. There’s nothing bad I can really say. In the last two days I have ran into a issue that I’m having problems undoing. My language setting seem to have changed on my from English to I believe a Chinese or Japanese language. I’ll take full blame on that. I must of left the app open and it must of been pushing buttons while I’m my pocket. Now since everything is in a different language I can’t figure out how to put it back in English mode 😒 Can’t Someone please help? The ONLY app I use for editingThere’s so many features but I personally like to keep it simple for my lash business, this is what I use to edit my clients while keeping their skin flawless but still realistic! Gone are the days I used Facetune sand it over blurred my client’s face making it look weird. I absolutely love how it keeps everything high quality as well and I’m able to add my own watermark. The subscription is DEFF worth a million times. You get a clean crisp video and it all your work is also saved to drafts in case something happens. Something needs fixingI use this app a lot and I’ve come to find that the video editor is even better than the photo editing, however there are some major flaws. For one, when you select a clip to edit there is a large window of time where the app is unresponsive. No matter what you tap nothing happens until a while later where it becomes responsive again. But even worse than that, the app keeps crashing when I try to edit something. It crashes without any warning at all and losing all of the work you’ve been doing for up to 30 minutes can be devastating. It has made me unable to edit videos on here anymore. Used to be a great app, until they got greedyThis used to be my editing app of all times, until they heavily leaning into the AI effects and the advertisements for the free version started to surpass 1 minute in length, for EACH photo you have edited. Recently, they even started forcing you to watch a 30-second ad before you can get to the menu to select the photos you want to edit. Why? i’ll explain.Honestly not gonna lie Meitu is a really good editing app it fixes your quality and your sharpen and so much more the main reason I have Meitu is that it could get me quality on my videos but while I press the HD quality button sometimes it slows down and it just pauses and then it says failed to fix image quality I think. Awesome app but some problemsI really like this app because i can make my video quality better for my edits. That is the problem. Sometimes if i were to improve video quality sometimes it would say failed to improve the quality which makes it weird because most of them are calm videos. I understand if it doesn’t do it for flashing videos or very shaky or action videos but it doesn’t make sense when a person just looking in the camera isn’t able to have better image quality. Good app butI’ve been using this app for years now and while I love it because it’s free and has a lot of features, I also do have some complaints. I’ve noticed lately that every time I open the app, a lot of sticker packs or filters or whatever have been disappearing from my library on the app. Most items need to be unlocked and normally after unlocking them, they stay in your libraries for good. Now, I have to keep unlocking them and re-downloading packs I’ve previous had in my libraries over and over again. I’m not sure..So basically I wanted to make a edit, but I wanted good quality, obviously I downloaded it from a tutor video and I used the HD quality thing and finished my edit. After like 4months or something like that I deleted the app cause it took up my storage you know? Weird experienceIt’s honestly very good and I have had it for like 3 months but just now when I went to remove a watermark on a video it crashed and turned the video all black and made a weird noise and wouldn’t remove the watermark. I don’t really know what happened but it scared me and it glitched out my phone. I did try to close everything and turn off my phone for a second but it still happened again. Wide Array of Editing OptionsI love this app. It has many unique and useful filters, as well as frames and effects. I especially love the frames since there are many to choose from and most of which are simple, and not too flashy or child-like. The only problem I have with this app is the quality of text. Current version is okay. Older versions have been betterI love this app. I practically edit all of my photos on here - for the smallest of edits like brightening a photo to full mode bokeh filters. However, with recent updates some filters are great, but they also did get rid of a lot of older filters that I love. I wish they’d bring it back and allow users to choose which filters to download. Not to mention, some of the new filters will come with default text that I don’t like at all. Please make it optional to have the text. FantasticI don’t usually bother to write reviews for apps, but this one is top notch and you need to download it NOW. You get a ton of awesome tools for free, way more than most photo editors. My favorite app:(This used to be my favorite editing app but it’s become very hard to use. I use the free version and I get it adds are needed that’s how they make money but the amount of adds I am forced to see are abundant — the adds take over the whole screen and look like what a virus would look on your phone— and there’s no easy way to x out when it’s done I am always forced out of the app and then sometimes have to ensure a second add when I make it back in. After that it’s locked behind a PAYWALL. Also every update seems to make this app seems to break it more, introducing more BUGS and more AD loading screens. The video editing portion has a bug that removes all of your edits and cuts when you hit the “retouch” option. It returns the video to its original state. Removing all of your work. Great app, but..Okay. So I’ve had this app for a while. I love this app to edit pictures and such. I could use the cute filters that made your picture look like a cartoon. That was why I got it in the first place, though I mainly use it for its other features now. Then I update my phone, and it asked me to access my photos again. Fine. The most horrible adds everI love this app but the adds are so bad that I’m currently writing my first app review ever. I’ll get a royal match add when opening the app that doesn’t have the option to close it besides clicking on it. After I edit a photo, to save the edit to my phone I have to watch another royal match add, there’s a loading bar at the bottom of the add for how long the add is, it loads and stops and loads and stops, it takes forever, it crashes, I have to shut the app and I loose the edit I did. After that I re edit the picture and by now I’ve seen another 4 royal match adds. I finally get to the end to the add and then THERES ANOTHER LOADING SCREEN FOR WHEN IM ALLOWED TO CLICK ON THE “x” BUTTON TO GET RID OF THE ADD. SketchyThis app is super sketchy. i tried “deleting my account” because it kept saying i couldn’t use certain features because i was under 13, which I’m not, I’m over 18. and even so, listed on my account info it said i was 29, which I’m not also. so i went to delete the account and it asked me for a bunch of security verification questions, such as “date of registration”, which it doesn’t even list so how am I supposed to know?, “date of last login”, “device you used the app on”, “linked phone numbers”, and last it asked me for my location down to the county I live in. oh, and then my phone number a second time. i ended up now deleting my account because i felt as if it was even more a threat if i deleted it then having it now. absolutely ridiculous. the app itself i had fun with which is a shame but there really is no need for all this. don’t download this app theres better ones out there..FopplesVersion: 8.5.11

Problems/issuesSo i’ve been using this app for almost 2 years and it works really well. The only feature I use is the quality feature, which bumps up the quality for my videos. But the problem is that I used to be able to use it 6x (or more) times a day. Now it’s been reduced to 1x a day, if you have pro/premium. This is very upsetting for me because I am an editor and I desire to make multiple edits a day, but with this one singular use of HD quality I have, I can’t post edits very often or else it will look bad. Another problem is that I simply can’t open the app, it automatically kicks me out. Paid subscription stopped workingI paid for an annual membership on Jan 7, 2021, it’s supposed to be good till Jan 7, 2022. Can not remove it from iPhoneThis app has been used most frequently in my iPhone. To save some room of the phone in the eve of Christmas for photos while I was in a church, I tried to remove it from my phone temporarily. I thought I could reload it to the phone once I got home and release some space from the phone after uploading pictures. However, when I tried to download the app in Apple store, the status of the app showed “open”, and nothing happened when I clicked the “open” sign. I noticed that there was “MTXX” listed as an app in the setting of the phone. I tried to delete the app from the setting so that I could reload it to my phone, it disappeared but showed up in second. Loyal user for a decadeI have been using this app since I was 13 years old. Ten years later, it has been my go-to app for editing. I have loved it so much and I’ve preferred it to Adobe apps, even. Unfortunately, the ads lately have just been so awful. I’m used to banner ads or ads I can click out of, but it’s been getting worse by the day. I just had to sit through an UNSKIPPABLE 60 SECOND ad just to export a single photo. I am completely okay with banner ads and ads you can close, but it’s too much. I loved the older versionI pay for the yearly membership and I loved the older version for the AI generation with multiple styles. I like the new feature of the prompt writer. REVIEW UPDATED 2023I just deleted Meitu after almost 10 yrs. This was one of my go-to apps over the years on different phone OS. I've been using this to edit photos forever but with all the Ads and suggestions to become a VIP member, I can't use it offline anymore. It's just tedious to have to close the app for being non-responsive, and go back only to have the app do the same thing over and over again. Even when filters are downloaded, app doesn't work at all offline.
