IMuscle 2 - iPhone Edition App Comments & Reviews

IMuscle 2 - iPhone Edition Positive Reviews

MY FAVORITE APP EVER!!!I got this app and it’s AMAZING! It’s $3.99 but totally worth it, especially if you like to workout OR need some motivation. I worked at a fitness facility and thought I knew a lot of exercises but this app showed me lots of great new ones too! You can point to whatever muscle(s) you want to work on on the 3D model and it shows you variations of exercises you can do (dumbbell or cable or medicine ball workout). Then you can add that exercise to your workout and when you’re doing the workout you’ve created, it tracks your weight, reps/sets, rest and work time. I always lose track of sets and daydream during rest time so this keeps me in check. They also have general workouts already created if you don’t want to create your own workout. And at the end, they give you a time summary. I hope you find the app useful or interesting! I’ve honestly never been so enthusiastic about an app before, and I hate paying for apps, but I LOVE this one..Version: 3.9.14

IMuscle 2 Is Excellent AppI like the fact that iMuscle has an extensive library of common exercises yet you can still create your own new ones. The only feature that is troublesome is the ease with which I can edit routines on my Mac or iPhone. I do all my planning on my Mac and then transfer to my iPhone. I run each routine and use the app to time my in between rest periods of 45-60 seconds. It is difficult, however, to edit routines because I cannot expand the window to the right. I can see 3 and 1/2 exercises at a time and it is difficult to slide left or right in that view. I need to see the entire routine in one screen so that I can refine the sequence of the exercises. I would also like the ability to duplicate a routine and save it under a new name so that I can vary some routines to create a new one rather than start a new one from scratch, which is what I have to do today. In addition, it would be nice to have (but not critical) for the app to link to other health/fitness apps to share common metrics such as weight, calories expended through exercise and calories consumed. Finally, I really do like and appreciate the bionic man used to show muscles and groups for each exercise. It helps me two ways: (1) learn the muscle groups that I am working in each exercise; and, (2) insure that I hit all of the muscle groups evenly over time..Version: 3.9.10

Great app! Keep it up!The best part of this app is how you can pick out a muscle or group that you want to work in the gym and get a list of excersise ideas and how to do them. This helps in a crowded gym or a gym with limited equipment - you know what you want to do but sometimes you may have to work that muscle using a different piece of equipment. Where I think the app can improve is the graphics and the metrics on the progress tab. This should be expanded- export to excel, link up with life fitness machines to input cardio workouts from QPC codes. The fact that I can email my brother a customized workout that I did is way cool. If I could print out that list with the data that would be useful. Also, to get an effective body fat percentage based off of the measurements plugged into the app it is important to measure the areas correctly. The app should include instructions on the weight and taping at the same level of detail as in excersise demo. Here’s another idea if you software developers are listening: if the graphic of the person matched those that the user inputs on the plates, barbells, weight and tape, etc. that would be pretty cool. Overall I really enjoy the app and it is really helping me to reach my fitness goals. I highly recommend this app..Version: 3.9.10

Helps with physical therapyI have had back, neck and shoulder issues and had to go to the chiropractor 2X’s a week as well as get physical therapy and take home exercises for 4 months. A lot of the exercises given to me were exactly what I found when looking and targeting the areas with this app. It was perfect for doing homework assignments because I knew which exercises to do from the therapist and found this app to be exactly on point. I found the video action helpful compared to a 2d photo trying to remember movements. I can mark favorites and create routines and keep track. It also shows adjacent muscles and exercises to complement therapy. Very helpful and worth the money. Especially if one cannot continue visits to the doctor for whatever reason..Version: 3.9.10

Better than a personal trainerI looked into getting a personal trainer however where I live it is a very expensive area and personal trainers are $100 an hour. I found this app and was really happy because I get to make over a dozen different workouts which I rotate so that I don’t work out the same muscle groups every day but I feel like I get a great work out because I can target my work out to specific muscle groups. It is totally worth the money to pay for this app as I am not having to pay personal trainer and I don’t need someone else to motivate me ..Version: 3.9.10

Love this app, search functionality not great. This app has been great! I use it to show patients and clients where and how a muscle contracts as well as using it for my own workouts. Love it! That being said... I would love to be able to add sets to a workout or even an exercise dynamically while the workout is happening. The search function isn’t without issues: for instance if your developing a workout and want to train just forearms on a particular day and search for forearms you get nothing, if you’re more specific with searching a particular muscle you sometimes get nothing. Improvement in these areas would be great! Thanks..Version: 3.9.14

More specificThis is a great app in general but if you could talk about fiber types(type 1 and 2 ) for each muscle, which exercises hit the muscle best and back it with emg studies would be nice and some exercises such as the deadlift work muscles you didn’t mention like your back it could also be nice if you could explain if it is a concentric eccentric or isometric contraction as well as some conditioning workouts but I haven’t looked to far into this so it is mostly good so far I personally would watch you tubers along with this like athlean x to get a better understanding of the muscle and not just rely on this app but I stand with 4 out 5 stars.Version: 3.9.14

Awesome App!!!Have been using since 3 or 4 yes now!!! My go to app for Stretches. My 13yrs son started using it too now…highly recommended. he was trying to search by commonly used name but could find the right muscles…searching for hip flexor doesn’t yield anything … may be good idea to have a mapping for commonly used names to medical names, and enable search … Nothing much have changed in the app all these years though … add some more stretches and add strengthening exercise without need for equipment (not everyone goes to gym!) Thanks for the great app!.Version: 3.9.14

Phenomenal App!It was free when I got it many years ago, not sure if it still is or not, but what an app. Having trouble figuring out how to exercise specific muscles? This is the app for you. With a model you can zoom in on, identify the muscle(s) you want to target, and then exercises and stretches modeling how to exercise said muscle(s) 👍🏻 The new update which allows you to save your favorite exercise for a quick reference is a very nice touch. Whether you have been lifting for years or just getting started this is a must have app for the fitness enthusiast..Version: 3.9.14

One Workout app to rule them allLove this app! There’s a few exercises missing, but you can add custom ones (they just don’t have an animation). I do wish there was a way to show a routines overall dedication to certain muscles, and analyze if my weekly program is targeting all my muscle groups, but the app does keep track of your progress. I think it’s a must have for beginners or intermediates who want to explore different exercises and see a demonstration of how they’re done (the animations are very helpful)..Version: 3.9.15

Great visual aid and custom workout creatorI am a very visual guy. I also want to know what exactly I am working on when I work out. This is a great tool for walking you through each movement, showing you what is being stretched and worked on by lighting up primary and secondary muscles. It has some prepared workouts, but I like the customizable option. You can choose your own durations for each move and stack movements how you wish, creating a flow all your own..Version: 3.9.14

Great app for workout ideasThis is a great app for anyone into fitness I can not recommend it enough. My Trainer recommended years ago and I’ve used it since. It’s rare that there’s any app out that that doesn’t want to shake you daily for every penny you own or isn’t stealing your personal information in order to sell it off. So it’s great this app is actually doing what it can without resorting to cheap tactics in order to make a quick buck. I’ve highly recommend it to anyone I workout with..Version: 3.9.14

Almost As Good As A Fitness InstructorI am in LOVE with this app. In addition to learning more about how the human body works, it shows you exercises to do to work a variety of different muscles. (Shows stretches too.) My boyfriend is a massage therapist and he reviewed the app and told me that the information in it was correct. He said that he wished he had known about this app when he was going through school because it would have made learning a lot easier. The downside is that it crashes FREQUENTLY. I have to close it and clear many time during my workout..Version: 3.9.14

Prove me if there is a better muscle app!I have checked about 6 top apps in the muscle game (most of them expensive), but when I came across this app and checked every detail in it as I did with the other apps, I was astonished by the great work the creators of this app did and how it fits exactly what I have been looking for, for a long time. I am not a type of person who writes reviews, but creators of such a great work deserves appreciation and recognition. Thank you!.Version: 3.9.15

The best!My trainer recommended this to me - and since I was already shelling out for training I decided to spend a few bucks on this. It’s super easy and intuitive. One thing you can do is look at a movement that challenges you (pull-up for example) look at each of the muscles involved in that movement and design a workout based on your equipment to progress to that movement! Then you can assess which muscle groups are weakest and might need extra love. Hope this makes sense - love it and.Version: 3.9.14

Awesome for workout!I’ve been looking for an app like this for so long. A friend of mine recommended it to me, and I don’t regret at all have spend my money on this. I go to the gym every day and I’ve found this app very helpful, bc is not only very complete exercise wise, also bc it allows you to customize your own routines and stretches. If you’re a gym addict like me, you’ll love it! If you’re not, doesn’t matter you’ll still enjoy it! Highly recommended 👌🏼.Version: 3.9.10

Great app…I have the essential anatomy 5 app and thought I’d try this one out. Love how you can watch the tissue move with the exercise. That being said, it would be better if you could rotate the body while it’s in motion. I noticed I’m not able to view posterior muscles in motion even though I’ve isolated a particular muscle (i.e. infraspuantus). I highlight the muscle but the model stay facing forward so I cannot see the isolated muscle in action. If that aspect could be developed then this would be a top notch app..Version: 3.9.15

Top Notch app for working outI absolutely love this app for working out. As previous users have stated it helps with knowing which muscle groups you are hitting and making sure you are not solely focused on one. At the same time you’re learning a little bit about the muscle. The downfall is that this app has not been updated and does become a bit frustrating with the interface it currently has..Version: 3.9.10

Great reference appThe app is great to reference for specific exercises. Have the ability to hone in on a muscle area and conduct target exercises with the suggested moves. The app can help build your workout routine. It is easy to use and beginner friendly. The app does automatically close down while in use at times. Could use more exercises without the use of gym equipment. Larger picture of the workout example once clicked on it would be helpful..Version: 3.9.14

The App I’ve Been Searching For!I had spent so much time googling exercises for different muscles and stretches for others. This app has all of it in one place! I love that I can choose between main muscles, smaller muscles and the hidden muscles beneath. I can even create my own workout within the app. The only things that could make this app better is some more stretches and more in depth directions - especially for beginners who may not know to activate their core/ maintain neutral spine for some things..Version: 3.9.14

👍I like that it's easy to use and has the feature of adding the amount of repetitions onto a selected muscle workout. Unlike other apps that typically include a workout based on whether you want tone or cardio. This app lets you customize to suit your needs, however specific. I've also concluded this to be a great app for practicing anatomy while drawling. Learning how the muscles connect which is a bonus for me ;).Version: 3.9.8

Great so far!I purchased this app to help with patient education when treating. I do really like it overall. I gave it 4 stars, because I was disappointed that the anterior/middle/posterior delt are not able to be cut away to show the rotator cuff muscle insertions on the humerus. It also doesn’t show the long head of the biceps because the deltoid is blocking it. I see a lot of shoulders at my clinic, and I though this would be helpful for education, but I won’t be able to use it like I thought I would..Version: 3.9.14

Needs an UpdateGreat app for a great price, but missing many good exercises like face pulls, glute bridges, close grip Dumbbell bench press, and goblet squats. Also, itwould be valuable to include a focus muscle on exercises that serve a certain muscle best, like hammer curls focus the brachialis, but the primary muscles are brachialis, brachioradialis, bicep short head, bicep long head. If not then please add an option for the user to add this detail to the premade exercises for their workouts..Version: 3.9.15

Personal trainer on the go.This is a very very good, detail, muscle training app. The pictures are crystal clear. The app shows all the strength training exercise possible with each muscle groups. I really enjoy using this app. It shows me how to work the muscles I don’t even know I have. This is an app for seriously minded fitness inspired people. Thank you for making this app accessible, free and worth the time.Version: 3.9.10

Love it!As a physician and a woman facing the relentless muscle deterioration that accompanies aging, I find this app really helps me identify the muscles I need to target, and the exercises that will help me strengthen, stretch or endure. It's spot on. The only down side is there are so many to choose from! App is easy to use for non-techies ( do the brief tutorial) and lets me customize, and save to cloud for all my devices and portability. BTW, I hardly ever write reviews..Version: 3.9.10

Not JUST a workout app. It’s a healthcare app tooThis app is awesome for not only pinpointing muscle groups to develop, but great for healthcare and rehab reference also. I used it to pinpoint pain, based on the recommended stretches and took screenshots for a virtual doctor visit. It made may have been more helpful than trying to describe the pain in person. Love this app!!.Version: 3.9.15

Can’t seem to get it to update.I have used this app for a couple years working with clients. It’s really helpful, but I went to show a client a muscle we were working on and it didn’t open. So I tried updating when I got home, but it seems to be frozen at the start of the update. Please help, Thanks!.Version: 3.9.14

Love the app but it’s almost 1 gig. Way to bigThe file size is huge. It’s 650mgs. I absolutely love the app. I appreciate all of the hard work that’s went into developing it. I strongly recommend the app if space isn’t an issue. Going to uninstall until the developers can find a way to shrink the file size..Version: 3.9.11

Really coolI’ve been tinkering with this for personal benefits, and have been building work out regiments for the week. I like the extensive library of exercises. My only issue is not having a few of the exercises I’d like. But again, excellent concept, cool diagram of the muscles, and super cool format for multiple types of routines as well as stretching and calisthenics and more. Definitely recommend.Version: 3.9.14

Very informativeI love that you can use it with or without internet connection and it has a lot of pictures, descriptions, and even examples of the exercises you’re trying to perform. There are preset workouts as well but I mostly use it to build my own workout plan. 5/5.Version: 3.9.10

THE BEST APP!I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS APP AND HOW EXTREMELY DETAILED IT IS! It’s also very user friendly and soooo beneficial teaching me about muscles I never knew existed! This app also provides specific workouts and stretches to target every muscle! I definitely give this app 5 Star Rating because I have found no other app like it! Great Job Guys!.Version: 3.9.15

Great app 10/10This app is great because for awhile I was looking for workout apps but they made you pay extra fees, once I downloaded this it gave me a tour and I set up my account and I immediately started looking at all the exercises and not a single ad or extra fee has popped up!!.Version: 3.9.14

Amazing AppI use this app quite often to find a exercise that develops a particular muscle. It not only gives you a primary exercise it gives you secondary and stretches for that muscle. This app has helped me change my body composition..Version: 3.9.15

Great but....I been using the app for few years now and i must say, that’s a wonderful app for training or just to learn about every muscle in your body and what they do. But I’m disappointed with the lack of apple health support and more recently the slowness. I think this app can use some graphics and speed improvements along with the Health support..Version: 3.9.10

The Most! The Best! The Greatest! The Encyclopedia Of Exercise in your pocket! The incredible collection of the moves beautifully explained, and magically presented will leave you breathless! Highly informative, efficient, yet simple and convenient it will satisfy the most demanding taste! The other apps by the developer are equally good! Check out the HIIT and the Yoga- they are sensational!.Version: 3.9.10

Love this appI really love this app! The reason for the 4 stars is because on the workout section you can’t toggle between doing all reps/sets for 1 exercise then going to the next exercise and switching exercises after each set. I like the circuit way better. Other wise it is perfection! Thank you!.Version: 3.9.15

Great app!I use it all the time when need to strengthen certain muscles. And if you injured a muscle you can also use this app to see which muscle and what you did. Then you can use the exercises and stretches to bring it back to normal..Version: 3.9.15

I love itI use this often when I want to stay on top of workouts. The exercises given in this app are new to me and target the muscles I am wanting to work grow. I had a personal trainer recommend this app to me and I am so glad I purchased it..Version: 3.9.15

Great value!I’m a personal trainer and having been using this app for years, and love it! It’s great to give my clients a visual of what they are doing and explaining the rationale of why they are doing a particular movement or exercise. I also love how you can cut away the superficial muscles to show the deeper ones. Good stuff!.Version: 3.9.14

Awesome app, not intuitiveHated this app until I spent a day figuring out how it works (work & rest time, super sets, designing custom work outs, tracking metrics). After logging 3 custom workouts, I use it every day. Designers: make this app sync workouts between iPad, iphone & laptop, it should not be that difficult many other apps do it..Version: 3.9.8

A trainer in your pocketThis is my go to app when I'm working out alone. It's like having a trainer in your pocket. You can use the preset workouts or customize your own workout. You can also input the amount of weight and reps you're doing so you can track your progress. Dope app..Version: 3.9.8

No subscription! This is an incredible app that only requires a one-time payment. I highly recommend for those looking for easy to follow workouts, or looking to create your own routine..Version: 3.9.15

Perf app for athletesI’m an athlete and dance coach. I love this app for helping me pinpoint muscle connection points which help me roll out the right muscles when it comes to pain and tightness. Whenever I have a tight muscle, I check the app and know which muscles/muscle groups may influencing the tension or be the true cause of the tension..Version: 3.9.10

Great appGives all the essentials. Provides workouts and stretches for all the muscles. Only thing is not the most appealing in terms of the aesthetics and actual functionality of the app. Just make things a little more user friendly and appealing..Version: 3.9.8

Love it!!!Where was this 15 years ago when my back went out???!!!?!?? It wasn't invented yet. And I'm so glad it has been now. Knowing what muscles are involved with my back and what exercises AS WELL AS stretches to do for them. Fabulous!! Simply fabulous and oh so appreciated..Version: 3.9.8

Amazing appI bought this app years ago and still use it often. It's very intricate. If your new to lifting weights or a veteran you can get a lot of use out of this app! I recommend it to anyone that goes to the gym or works out at home! 👍🏻👍🏻.Version: 3.9.8

Perfect 3DGreat app. Tons of exercises and stretches for those hard to reach area..Version: 3.9.14

Why no full screen support for newer iPhones? It’s been 3+ years since iPhone X came out but still no full screen support? It should be pretty easy to modify that. Having black bars top and bottom and not utilizing the whole display? Never bought it if I knew..Version: 3.9.14
