Stayconnect® mobile App Comments & Reviews

Stayconnect® mobile Positive Reviews

Works a lot better than hotel remotesI’m using this remote on my ipad. We all know how hard it is to use hotel room remotes. With the wear and tear they get, by the time you use it, the buttons aren’t responsive. Push up/down channel 5 times, and you maybe get a response once. This is a basic remote, with a caveat. If you use the guide, you pay a small amount. (Haven’t tried it myself; got that from other reviews.) This remote allows you to turn the tv on/off, see the available channels in a list, change channels when you select from that list, and set the volume. Pretty nifty. Instead of using the app’s guide, I use my cable provider’s app to see what’s on..Version: 5.1.1

No more remote touching for COVID-19!I stay primarily at Hilton properties and quite a few seem to use this. Not sure how many hotels used this before COVID-19 and I just didn’t notice... I tried it for probably half a evening without paying for the program guide and it was meh. Looked at the reviews that were terrible and decided to spend the $1 since it seemed like it really was just annually and not monthly or anything. It’s a great little app, can see what’s on, change volume, etc. No more yucky remotes. Only real suggestion is to add a sleep timer to the app..Version: 5.1.1

OK, but Needs improvements$.99 each year is a bit, hmm... I wish the program guide function was a lot better. Every time you leave the program guide window for another window, or leave the app, and come back to the program guide, the program guide resets to the top. I wish it just stayed at whatever was the last channel you were viewing in the program guide. That way I wouldn’t have to re-scrool through all of the channels. Other than that, it is very handy for hotels with confusing and/or non-functional remote controls..Version: 5.1.1

Perfectly FineAfter I read the reviews, I was hesitant to even bother download the app, but I’ve had literally zero problems with it since downloading. Yes, it is 99cents per year, but you have access to the TV guide which is extremely convenient. Controlling the TV from your phone has been fast and accurate as far as the guide goes. I don’t understand why this app has such bad reviews. FYI, I’m using the app while staying in a hotel in Miami, FL..Version: 5.1.1

Worked first timeI’m not sure if the other reviewers are just incompetent or what, but this app did exactly what I wanted and what it promised to do. Once connected thru the app, I opened Netflix on my phone and tapped the connect button and it was like having an Apple TV in my hotel room. Loved it! The only reason I gave it a 4 is because I did get randomly disconnected every now and then, but I bet that had more to do with the hotels wifi than this app. I hope it ends up in more hotels!.Version: 5.1.1

This app is phenomenal!!I have no idea what people are whining about. Last night I was able to use my Plex app on my iPhone to ChromeCast a number of movies directly to my hotel room tv from my remote home server. The app performed flawlessly. No hiccups. This to me is a totally new level of awesomeness. Now I don’t even need to hook up a laptop via HDMI to the hotel tv. Just use my iPhone via ChromeCast..Version: 5.1.1

Works well, nice TV guideInstalled quickly. Paid 99 cents for the guide. Worth it! Now I don’t have to slowly scroll through the channels wondering what is on. Really helpful to have a guide that works in a hotel. I really don’t understand all the poor ratings, particularly those complaining about 99 cents for a useful product.Version: 5.1.1

Stream Netflix, coolNot sure why the low rating. The app allowed me to quickly change the channel (a pedestrian feature); but I was able to stream Netflix to the hotel tv. Nice feature! Better than my recent VRBO which required me to log in on an Apple TV, then remember to log out before checkout..Version: 5.1.1

Easy as pieThe hotel system on the TV is terrible. I’ve been staying in the same hotel weekly for work and for over 5 months. Never used the TV in the room because of how crappy the system was. Just found out about the app, downloaded it and added the program guide subscription and it’s soooo much better. Don’t know if previous versions weren’t great resulting in all the 1 star reviews, but I love it..Version: 5.1.1

Does only what your hotel allows.Easy set up. TV guide subscription on your phone is $1/year. Works well. If your hotel pushes pay per view products, this app can do nothing more for you. If your hotel does NOT lock you in to PPV entertainment, the hotel can enable the app to allow you to stream your content from your device to the TV. I can say with certainty that Wyndham hotels love PPV, so no streaming for you..Version: 5.1.1

Works perfectly fineNot sure what all the bad reviews are for.. it’s a hotel remote, it does its job very well. Makes navigating the guide 100x easier and gives a reason to not touch those dirty physical hotel tv remotes..Version: 5.1.1

3 years since updateDoes what it is supposed to do but UI is lame and not updated in many years. For hotels the support it, you can use phone as remote which is helpful. In the app, just tap name of channel you want instead of flipping around for it on the gross hotel remote. Been in 1 hotel that uses this app to let you cast from Amazon/netflix/Hulu apps to the TV, that’s super good. I even don’t mind paying 99 cents for one year of guide access. Some hotel TV’s have really lame slow guides that are painful to scroll through. But for crying out loud, it should be much easier to use and read in this app. No updates since iOS10 ?!.Version: 5.1.1

Worked perfectly the first timeWe're staying at Fairmont and was directed to use this app for streaming content to the Google Chromecast built into the TV. I was able to install the app and stream Netflix and Showtime within 5 minutes..Version: 5.1.1

Very convenientWorks great. Downloaded the program guide too for .99 and it is worth it. Tv responds quick to channel changes and reconnects quick after standby or power off..Version: 5.1.1

App Crashes when selecting 'In Room Dining'App consistently crashes when trying to select 'In Room Dining'. A bit of a scam to require my personal information and a $1 charge just to see the TV Guide (and it sets up a recurring app subscription you have to remember to cancel.).Version: 5.1.1

Simple AppIt gets the job done, helps not to touch the tv remote especially this days. I rather use my phone..Version: 5.1.1

Was looking for pairing with phone. This app seems outdated since i was disappointed by the fact i can not pair my phone with the hotel tv. Day time tv and pay locked movies is Not what I would like to watch..Version: 5.1.1

Fulfills it’s purposeThe app is built to do what it needs to, but the asthmatics are very out dated. According to the version history, it’s been 4 years since the last update, so I’m guessing this is someone’s cash cow that they keep selling to hotels..Version: 5.1.1

Works fineReally not sure what all the negative reviews are about. The app controls the TV at your hotel perfectly well..Version: 5.1.1

Ok if you don’t mind the spyware aspectI was able to get the remote control feature working but Netflix returned no device found. But then... I am using iPhone 7. ;).Version: 5.1.1

CoolI pranked my parents with this app that out hotel room is haunted and the tv is moving by it’s self 🤣 they got so scared.Version: 5.1.1

Worth 2.5 starsIssue: the programming guide is never right. I paid the extra $2 to get the channel/program guide. It’s worth it so you don’t have to sit looking at the scrolling channel for 10 minutes. The channels are always right but the programs are only right about 40% of the time.Version: 5.1.1

Worked wellUsed for the first time and it worked well. I didn’t realize there was an annual charge but considering it works better than every hotel remote I’d pay it if I stay enough. So nice to see the guide easily..Version: 5.1.1

GoodGood.Version: 5.1.1

Great for less handling of hotel remote!I’ve used this app for a number of years. I enjoy it because I don’t need to tough the hotel remote except for the initial setup. Well worth the small price. Unlike others on here, I’ve generally had good luck with the guide. As the feed is coming from a third party, not sure it’s the app’s fault when incorrect. A couple feature requests: 1 - would like to be able to set this up without touching the hotel remote more than I have to. I.e. power on only, just give me the code right there. 2 - I’d like to see a sleep timer on the app. It could be built into the clock of the iOS device and simply send an off command. Thanks! Innovative app!!.Version: 5.1.1

It does exactly what it says it does.No where in the description did it say it’s a streaming or airplay app. It’s just to use your phone as a remote and it works so much more smoothly than the crappy tv remote. You can quickly swipe through the channel options and on demand movies whereas the tv remote has a lag and is super annoying. So the app does exactly what it says it’s for..Version: 5.1.1

Worked perfect!!!Not understanding the negative reviews as this app worked perfectly!!!.Version: 5.1.1
