Updated Review: Great App to Track DakarUpdated Review: The App works now and developers informed me of the problem I experienced. I have been tracking the races each day following my favorites. The app works very well and has some functions to tailor it to your liking. It is definitely a post action tracking application, but provides all information that we are looking for.
Original Review: I’m in the U.S. using an iPhone 12 and wanted to try out this app to track the 2022 race. Unfortunately it keeps saying “web services are unavailable” when you first open the app and doesn’t load anything. I have full bars of 5G and can access all of my other applications. It is definitely this app and it doesn’t work!.Hoku*Version: 8.1.1
Great app to stay connected to the race.Beware...on the new update you have to re-acknowledge the EULA. The color selection the button is very very close to the background image. Please look carefully. The button is just left the text.

TerrificThis app worked flawlessly for me during the 2012 Dakar so I am very excited to see it back for 2013. All the essentials are there. Invaluable for following a race like this. Canadian FanAs a Canadian I get very little to no coverage of the Dakar rally so this app is my best source for getting information on the from the rally sport I love.
The app is well designed & I really like summary videos and photographs.
The only problem with the app is I view it on my I pad & when you go to the drivers profiles the picture of drivers are cut in half so you can not see their heads or faces, needs to be fixed please !

Great idea!There's never enough Dakar coverage on traditional media channels, so I love the idea of getting the app data as it is happening LIVE!! I hate waiting for the lousy half hour daily update from eurosport, which doesn't even begin to answer all my questions about the days stage. the app is mostly working fine for me, not sure why others have complained, perhaps it is because I have not yet updated to ios5? the video links do not work, but that is a small portion of what the app offers, and I can go to the web page on safari for those anyway. there are pages of info on each stage and the competitors rankings are listed by stage, division, and then the overall times to refer to. audio interviews are on there too, the route, and a news feed updates constantly. I hope they continue this app and improve it for next year, can never have enough Dakar! just wish there were more interviews of some of the underdogs, not just frontrunners, and no one seems to mention what happened to the electric car guys? would love an iPad version as I don't have a phone and it's better resolution would do the photos justice....
after update for 2013 videos almost work but then the app freezes and I have to delete and reinstall to get it working again ios5.1 now this year the audio doesn't seem to be available and the video still not working but at least I'm getting updated with the news and I can see the stage today has an almost 600 m drop in no time at all! wow!.SnapwriteVersion: 2.1

Ok but...Great amount of info but doesn't prioritize the race, and what's happening or happened! Glad this was free...This is my third dakar with the app and it has some definite draw backs this time around more than other years. Over all standings are not updated. Clunky and overlaysI appreciate all the details that might be available if perhaps they were intuitive or had any memory to them from screen to screen.
I faithfully watch the Dakar each new year hoping that this year might be the one the mobile app is decent and I can actually watch or easily follow the race.
There are so many renaming and sub groups it’s just generally terrible to decipher.

Very basicApp does not support landscape mode or dynamic text, which means you are locked into a portrait display of tiny text when reading articles (which have few or no pics). You are probably better off using the Dakar website for better readability.

Why do I have this app?Hours after completion of the first stage, and this app continues to provide only stats from the previous year's rally.
Absolutely useless.
All the videos are the same 8-second map overview.
The "news" was last updated 4 days prior to the race.
The first stage race results are from 2011!
Only the maps and the forums link seems to work well, and everyone on the forums are in an uproar over how outrageous it is to actually pay for this app and get only frustration while the race is on.
I can see these problems leading up to the race, but day one is over. Come on folks, fix your app that you charge for!

If this App was in the rally, stage 1 abandon!!App looks nice and seems to function until you press an option to see what you need. And, by the time you go to read the article or see a poorly loaded video, you are bombarded with adds to buy watches or clothing for the Dakar. None of which interest Motorheads as they search for their best rider or drivers.
Also, the “live the race” tab that seems to be located in the sentence I am reading is always in the way. You have to move it every time.
