Love every bitI used the app Everyday to create a transformation video since 2011. For the past few years I’ve been worried about it not being updated and finally decided to make the switch to a new app. This app is wonderful and creates an amazing user experience from the moment I started with it. It offered to help me transfer all my old selfies from Everyday (no small task as I had 2807 already). Within an hour I was all set up with Close-up. Couldn’t be happier. I love the ability to choose different time periods for creating videos and the fact that it’s so easy to see how long the videos will be and change FPS. Are there things I would change or add? Sure. But overall this is an incredible app and it improves on another I’ve loved for years..Version: 2.5.13
Was amazing but since Dec 23 stopped working (edited - works great again)Whenever I take a daily pic now on my iPad it ZOOMS in on my nose. I’m taking the pictures the same way I have for the past SIX YEARS and now it will only zoom after a pic. I’ve tried using flash. And not flash. Focus and not focus. If I take maybe ten pictures in a row just slamming the button and deleting immediately it *may* take a normal pic I can keep…after MULTIPLE attempts. I’ve emailed the contact info to ask for help but no response. Bummer since I’ve been taking daily pix for six years and now no longer can. Frustrating not knowing what is causing the new issue. EDIT - App has started working again and is great. I don’t know if it was iOS issue, iPad problem or something with the program. But it’s back to being perfect. Love it..Version: 2.9.25
Very easy way to watch yourself grow/developI’ve always loved watching the timelapse videos of people who have taken a picture of themselves everyday, but i told myself i couldn’t do it. i didn’t know how to frame my face in the same part of the picture every time and didn’t know how to edit together photos. closeup does all of this for you. you can set up a guideline for where you’d like your face to be (if you want) and they put all the photos into a timelapse. you do have to pay to save the timelapse, but you can still view it for free. you also get to take pictures as frequently as you’d like (4x a day, 1x a month, or just whenever you want) i genuinely love being able to see myself grow through different parts of my life. the app is incredibly intuitive, doesn’t spam you with notifications (except an optional reminder to take a photo), and doesn’t have ads. i honestly recommend it to all my friends and they all enjoy it as well..Version: 2.9.33
Amazing app! Stick with it.I’ve been using this app since March of 2014! I just celebrated three years clean on 5/27. Without knowing it, I captured my entire last five year run in my album. It’s important to me that I have those pictures and also looking at my journey getting clean. People think it’s amazing. I’m not one to take selfies unless it’s for a profile pic but for whatever reason I stuck with it and so far it’s captured all 9 years. I just realized it’s 9 years. Duh. That’s insane tho. Suggestion: Have an option to show the dates on a corner in the videoOverall this app is great, it’s really easy to use and I love seeing the progress I have made. Something I think would be cool was if you could enable an option to have the dates of the pictures also show in the video. $1 for each save/share. Need subscription options ASAPGreat app but it is $1.00 to save each video and $1.00 to send the same video. I wasn’t aware of this so I paid to share it. THEN I had to pay again to save it to my device. SAVE FIRST OR SEND TO YOURSELF! It would be amazing if you offered subscription options for packages for multiple saves. I am the type who likes to play around with editing and compare different variations. Awesome App!Been using CloseUp for at least 3-4 years now and have never been let down! The Dropbox integration is a great feature since I’ve switched phones a few times and never had to worry about local backups. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it would be cool to be able to have more than one set of photos. So maybe you can have yourself and then a separate one for your child or partner, or even for multiple children. Just an idea 😉.Version: 2.5
No Option for Back Camera PhotosWas excited to try this app as an alternative to Everyday. Loved the simplicity, features in Settings, and even the how-to to port over from Everyday. That said.. how is there no feature to use the “Back Camera” on the iPhone?? I use these types of apps to capture memories of my kids, as I’m sure many others do. Not being able to flip the camera from a front-selfie is a deal breaker for me. Author, please add the ability to use the back cameras, I’ll gladly pay!.Version: 2.9.16
I Really Love This AppI have been using this app for more than two years now and absolutely love it! I have changed phones twice in this time and getting the photos back was the easiest thing. Great app with great customer serviceI used the Everyday app for years, but it started getting buggy, and I couldn’t get support. Close Up actually got in touch to recommend their app, and I’m so glad I tried it. Great features, excellent customization on the photos, reminders, and videos. PLUS they provide instructions on how to move your old photos from Everyday into Close Up, so you’ll still have your full history. Sweet..Version: 2.4
Very GoodThis app is good, there’s not a single add in it like the others that will spam your notifications or ask you to buy there premium every five seconds. There are several feature request however. After you took a picture if you could move it around and aline it with the lines it would make taking the picture easier..Version: 2.6.9
This app is awesome!I’ve been using it almost daily to get a time lapse of my beard growing and it’s so cool to see. Only thing I’d love to see more is the ability to make multiple time-lapses of different subjects. I would have to delete all my photos to start, say, a time lapse of a plant growing... if that were added as a feature I think this would be the best slow time lapse app on the App Store!!.Version: 2.6.12
Year 3I’m on my 3rd year using this app. I was really good about using it everyday the first year. I lost rhythm the 2nd and I’m back on track this year. I really do enjoy seeing the compiled video. My ONLY complaint/request is that I wish I could have different profiles. I would love to do this project for my kids (they’re 3, 2 and 9 months). Very GoodI try to take a photo every day. It is very easy to take, view, and make the video. Also good if you don’t need to make a video you can keep track of stuff like acne or sunburns. Suggestion: be able to import and export photos. Also should be able to use outside camera. Bonus it also shows you yesterday’s photo under the one you are about to take so you can line your face up..Version: 2.3.4
T’s a good simple app.I wanted a simple app to take daily pics of myself so I can see how I change/look over time. I set the app up to send me random daily reminders to take a picture. Love it. Love itThis is a great app, and I love using it. All my friends were curious about it and I always recommend it. I especially love how when taking my photo, I can actually line up my face with previous photos so I’m in the same position and the same distance away from the camera. It‘s affordable and yet superior to the competition.No fancy interface. No automatic guideline placement. So what? The guidelines he are more useful than most apps I’ve found. The ability to add discrete venue location is easy and accurately. The random timing for the picture is something I found essential. What’s there to complain about? Well, the UX could be more attractive, but I’m fond of minimalism. Another thing, considering how little people change from one day to another, I’d like to see each image or-has into the next and after that, linked together in a video that animates change. This app is basically perfect but I have no idea how to delete a photoBasically the title. This is THE PERFECT APP for a daily selfie montage. It even gives you your own face graph!!! And notifications!! And it’s basically free !!! HOWEVER I have no idea how to delete a messed up photo haha. The app doesn’t really tell how. Fantastic app!Amidst all the apps to do a one-selfie-per-day video, this is my favorite— the simplest and most easy to use. The one feature I’d request would be to be able to add a note to a photo (so it can be a photojournal too; otherwise sometimes I forget the context of where the photo was).Version: 2.9.1

Easy to use, wish it allowed multiple projectsI’ve tried a few different selfie apps. This one is easy to use, no bugs, good UX. I love the overlays - though adding a grid could be nice. What I really wish this AP had was the ability to add multiple projects/stories. I’d love to be able to use this to watch my kids grow. Good app but needs minor improvementsI have been taking a selfie a day with this app every day this year now and I highly recommend this app for it however I do have some suggestions: 1. Be able to import photos from camera roll 2. Have an option to include the date in each picture for when you create the pic or gif 3. Have an option to tap the screen to temporarily remove yesterday’s low opacity photo from the screen (tap again to bring it back) All of these are fairly simple changes that I think would make the app a lot more user friendly to many customers and myself. Great appI use this app each day for 4 years now and I really like this app. But, I would have some recommendations. First, I would add a feature that we could do another Close-up. Like a while ago, I wanted to do a video of my growing plant so a downloaded an other app, but no one is as efficacy as yours. Also, I would make a base “underlying photo” to always picture ours-self on the same picture to keep the same position on all the photos.
