Superlative!This tuner does it all and at a superior level to all other tuner apps, in my opinion. It has all the features - multiple temperaments, tuner, tone generator, metronome, and a recording feature that lets you play back the recording while the tuner is running. The viewing interface for the tuner is in a class by itself: very precise, not overly busy, providing at-a-glance impression of what you are doing but also greater precision if you want it. Now it provides the option of extreme sensitivity, greater by far than any tuner I’ve seen - you can set a very large amount of real estate on your device to represent just two or six cents, thus challenging yourself to a very high standard - if you wish. Wonderful for all musicians!This app is easy to navigate and is extremely helpful for most musical activities. Need a metronome? You can set it for anything between 1 bpm or 400 bpm, have 1-16 beats per measure, and it can subdivide all the way up to the 512th note (because you need that). You can also customize the tuner: tune vertically vs horizontally, change the concert A calibration, the instrument transposition, the alternate temperament, the temperament key, and change the theme (light or dark). You can also record a practice session, and the app will score you based on how often you were playing (or singing) in tune. It includes a tone generator. Amazing!I absolutely love this app which enables me to track tuning and vibrato as I play flute, record myself, have a metronome running with a variety of sounds and rhythms, and see personal practice scores for each session! I highly recommend tunable! The only problem is that the latest version has crashed twice in the last 10 minutes since I downloaded it, which is very surprising and unfortunate. I hope the developers will fix it soon. UPDATE: A few days after posting this review, the developers contacted me personally, saying they’d fixed the app and it should be working. Pretty goodI’m a violinist/violist. I teach elementary through college level as well as performing across my state and the southeast. I’ve had this app for awhile and I use it a lot on my students. It’s helpful for recording them so they can listen and see pitch variances in real time. It also helps them learn how to run their instruments, but that’s where my 4 stars instead of 5 comes in. I will say it’s not entirely accurate. My viola, for example. Our low c string has a pitch of about 130 Hz, a “tenor C”, and this app claims that 130 is flat. Obviously it is best to use your ear, but sometimes an app can help in the early stages of learning to tune. Useful and well designedI find the tuning display very informative. It includes a graph of pitch vs time and a visually useful and helpful indication of how close the current pitch is. I also appreciate the ability to adjust its pickiness for "in tune", and to transpose (e.g. for b flat clarinet). The built in metronome is also very useful, flexible and well designed. It offers quick and easy tempo setting via a band of tempos near the bottom, tap to set tempo, adjustable beats per measure and subdivisions per beat. And, of course, it can be used in tuner mode (including stopping and starting it). The only thing I miss is a spectrum display (like TonalEnergy)..RradarrVersion: 2.0.8

It’s worth the money, so parents of musicians just buy itTunable is all around the best tuner/met/drone on the App Store. With other apps you have to pay monthly to get half of the quality of tunable tuner/met/drone. The tuner can get as accurate as 2 cents and the tuner even tells you the hertz. The metronome shows each count clearly and it even has access to all sorts of subdivision. The drone is on point too. When I asked my Instructor which tuner to get tunable was the first app he mentioned. In conclusion don’t waste your money on a membership and just get tunable. Love the app!I enjoy using this app, and it is always on when I’m in the practice room. The metronome functions as it should and provides all the functions you would expect short of a Dr. Beat. Gets the job doneEasy to use, great design, and does what I need it to: keep time! Can easily set tempo, time signatures, and subdivisions. I usually use a pedal tuner for tuning, but Tunable’s tuner has helped out in a pinch. Really?Long time acoustic musician with well over 10,000 hours behind the figurative wheel. This is the most intuitive and precise tuners I have ever used. Even those old strobe tuners never could get it perfect, always had to tweak this string or that string to achieve that elusive singular ‘round’ sound when playing a test open E chord. The met that got me my mastersThis is the best practice app I’ve found. And I’ve tried a whole bunch! For the tuner, the hex tuning circle is very innovative and the option to switch back to a keyboard view is great too. The option to switch the sound is great too, as it’s sometimes easier to tune to a pitch with more overtones. Finally, the sustain function is actually *huge*. With it, you can get your ear used to different chords and modes by sustaining them and playing over them! It’s a huge help. As for the metronome, it’s the best I’ve found. Others have artificial limits on time signature and bpm range that are inflexible if you want to challenge yourself. Great tuner & metronomeLove this app, use it all the time in my practice (I'm a professional flute player). Adjust precision of tuner based on level, drone tones, built in metronome, this app is worth well more than it costs! Just one issue I've noticed is that on my iPhone 5s sometimes, it doesn't recognize the built in mic(s). Overall solidGreat app, but I really hate the audio pitches always setting to be in the C2 range or C6 range on the keyboard. I use this app almost daily for sight singing and commonly reference it for pitch check-ins. It’s annoying to have to “reset” the piano almost everytime I need to find a pitch in the typical C3 or C4 class. Don’t trust the metronomeThe metronome has been driving me crazy, something with the audio/visual sync feels off and then the click itself rushes. I recorded it into Logic Pro and sure enough the beats are off. After just 8 measures it’s noticeably off the beat. Cool and very useful appThe recording lessons feature alone is worth the money. Each time you record a piece the app tells you how in tune you were with your notes. I’m a beginner flute player and this will help with intonation 10x over! —— As I practice more I think there is some room for improvement. I think the option to show both flat and sharp tones. Best app for the professional musicianI absolutely love Tunable. Over 2 years of use now! I use the tuner and tone generator all the time, and even the metronome became my go-to for its ease of use. The accuracy is unbelievable and I adore that one can set tuner to different temperaments. AMAZING! try the just intonation, use it for long tones with tone generator and truly learn to play the correct major (or minor) thirds, perfect fifths, sixths, and so on (but be careful to set it to the right key, and don’t forget to put it back to equal temperament right after you have worked on a particular scale / chord!!!!) There are many temperaments so it is useful for baroque / classical (period instruments) players. But it is as important to us, modern instrument players! There is just so much to love about this app. Thank you for helping me, my colleagues and my students take it to the next level! I play in a world class orchestra and the only way one can make it to work in such high level ensembles is with very special care to details, particularly in regards to intonation and rhythm (as well as being a great musician, obviously). Best Tuner I've used! It's My Main Tuner Now!It's very accurate and detailed. Great response time that's configurable ie, the delay time between the note played and the tuner response and note sensitivity. Money Well SpentBest $4 I have ever spent. The tuning is so accurate that I don't need to use my other tuner that clips to my bridge of my cello. The only time I use the other one is if I'm in a group and I need to tune. As I play it is a good visual reference to see how far off I am from a perfect pitch. App freezing more and more... unable to tuneI’ve had Tunable for a couple of years now and have really loved it for most of that time, using it to tune my double bass accurately in noisy green rooms and loud orchestra rehearsals without issue. However, it seems with each additional update to Tunable the tuner within the app has become more unreliable and prone to freeze / crash. At first, I would just have to close it and reopen the app and it would work fine afterwards. Now, frequently I’ll go to tune with the app and it won’t register that I’m playing any notes at all, or it registers at such a delay that I am unable to use it to tune at all, even if I am in a silent room... While it’s cool that Tunable has been adding new functions in the application, etc, I would rather that the tuner work. At this point I’m deleting and looking for something else. Distracting popupsThis is a great tuner. However, as a professional musician, sometimes I just need to check tuning quickly, without having to close out windows asking me to update the app (frequently) or look at the bouncing window at the bottom, asking me if I want to start a session. If you can tell me how to disable these, I’ll change my rating. I will update on my own time, without having to close that window at the start of an orchestral rehearsal.
