That being said, I still think basic functionaly (scenes, animations) could have more options without IAP. But best app overall for Hue. You have 1/6 of scenes/animations and you have to buy everyting else as well editing ability etc... so count for 15$ more for full functionality. Worth the Pro Subscription!This app solves a lot of the problems that controlling Hue lights with the Philips Hue app or Home app have, and it integrates some third-party products too. The thing that makes it worth the Pro subscription for me is the amazing widget support and really handy Apple Watch app. There is a simple complication for the watch faces that leads you to the app where you can control lights by room or group. People are pretty impressed when I control the lights with a few taps on my wrist, and every time I do that I feel like I’m living in the future. iConnect Hue makes some things possible that are either impossible or too hard to do with the Hue or Home apps. Animations, custom groupings that span rooms, “magic” scenes that let you change brightness or rearrange which lights get which color, third-party lights and switches in the same app, cleaning up old timers or phantom rooms/lights, entertainment scenes for parties, and more. I’ve tried many other apps that make big promises, but I keep coming back to iConnect Hue. The only thing that it doesn’t seem to do is control my Nanoleaf devices, but that’s not enough of a downside to make me change my rating from five to four stars. Easily the best app for Philips HueThis is easily the best app for controlling your Philips Hue lights! FAR better, even, than the app from Philips Hue! The ability to create scenes, animations, etc., makes it one or two touches to have your lights do exactly what you want them to do! The apartment I built doesn’t have windows, so I was looking to build a lighting system that could follow the sun in both brightness and color temperature in the built-in “windows” I created to emulate sunrise and sunset and all the stages of lighting throughout the day. The systems I was looking at were going to cost $2,000-$5,000! Then I found Philips Hue and this app. It allows me to do all of that and so much more. I now have my entire house automated with the Hue lights and accessories through this app. The addition of motion detectors and programming to control exactly what I want to happen is incredible. Still my go to after 10 yearsI love this app and it’s one of the few that I happily choose to pay an annual subscription for (of course I pay for some subscriptions, just not very happily). I probably don’t use more than a quarter of its features, but I want to support them and make sure they continue to operate and keep making this app better and better. I have used it absolutely daily since 2015, as my stock of hue lights went from three to more than 30. It’s simply the best and most intuitive one I’ve used. Plus they are a great little company that never stops innovating, and in my direct experience is 100% responsive to customer inquiries and issues. You just can’t beat that, and you just can’t expect every part of what they do for a living to be offered for free. Just keeps getting better!This app is still super underrated and I can’t believe it doesn’t even have 1k reviews yet. I’m a pro member and have about 30 lights throughout my apartment. I reached out to the company at one point recommending something and they responded probably within the same day teaching me how to do exactly what I was recommending but didn’t know was already a capability. This app does take some playing around and figuring out at first, but it has endless capabilities with being able to create all your own content! I just had the new update installed and saw this new AI feature which I had my doubts about. I tried it 1 time and it created exactly what I’ve been looking for and trying to create on my own for a few weeks. I just wasn’t getting it perfect yet, but the AI got it done and I created a magic scene from that one AI creation. I love this feature!! Just Stop looking and Use this AppAnyone invested in the Philips Hue ecosystem for as long as I have has probably spent hours on end looking for the best application that just “works”. I have been a Phillips Hue user now for over 3 years (which is an eternity in the IOT world) and have tried at least 20 different apps and have spent a lot of money on some of those apps only to be disappointed. I’ve been using iConnectHue for well over a year now and it continues to get better and better and handle my crazy smart home with ease. The best for my hues!I have had this app for several years now and it is the one I use most consistently to control all the lights in my room. The user interface is designed well and everything flows smoothly. Compared to the regular Phillips hues app- this one is very easy to navigate to any setting I am looking for. I have happily paid for a few updates/extras and I see myself continuing to support these developers as they do release updates at a steady pace. I enjoy being able to control my lights from my Apple Watch and phone screen widget. There is one little complaint (more like suggestion) I have - but I’m going to wait and see if there may be an update for it in the near future or if the option I’m looking for is already available and I’m overlooking it somehow… either way, just download this app!! Best all round app to control lightsI really like this app, and the discotainment I think is worth the few extra bucks. But I would ask the developers if they could add in the ability to set up Siri commands. For the most part you can use Siri suggestions to do automations in the shortcuts app... But specifically what I'm trying to do is have it set up so I can use Siri to turn on and off the discotainment and automatically play music. And I can for the most part, but I can't select any specific lighting preset for the discotainment. It will just turn it on with whatever lighting set up you had it on last. It would be more fun if there was a way for me to say something like "hey Siri, let's have a christmas party" and in shortcuts it opens the discotainment feature, select the Christmas themed lighting setting, turns it on, then plays my christmas playlist. Great app for a great priceI’ve been using this app for many years to control over 50 lights and devices and never had any issues. I started using this app when I had 5-6 lights but over the last few years as my lights have grown this app has still been able to control everything as I want to. It does take a little practice to get use to it but once you know what to do its a breeze. It is much better than the Philips app and the developers respond really fast to any queries you have. I used to purchase certain features every year but now as with many other apps ConnectHue has a yearly subscription. A must have for Philips Hue usersApp runs smoothly, all add ons work as expected, dev FREQUENTLY updates with new features that make the hue experience better. The dimmer programmability alone makes this app worth the full price, but every feature included with this app is centered around effortless usability in real day to day situations. For instance, my bedside dimmer is programmed to switch certain lights off, my bedroom to a specific night scene and a timer for the bedroom to go off 3 mins after, all with one press of one button, and only past a certain time in the evening. Timers can be based on your location- I have "all off if I'm away" timers set to run every few hours when I'm away from home. Best Watch app for HueThis app is fantastic. Up front I want to say the support team helped me out over the holidays, which I didn't at all expect, and were extremely helpful and patient. This app is the best iOS citizen Hue app I've found — far nicer than the official Hue app, which feels like an alien transplant. The Siri Shortcut support is really great for integrating into other automations, and the customizable Today widget is really nice for having just what you need where you want it. The standout feature to me is the Watch app. It has dimmer buttons instead of Apple's fiddly scrolling brightness control, and your scenes/animations/colors. The app is really well done, very quick and responsive, and to me, faster to use than the endless scrolling of Apple's Home app (and more feature rich). The only feature I wish the app had is the ability to add a fade in/out timer to scenes and colors, so I could cross-fade from the Watch app. However, what I most wanted was the ability to fade on and off my lights on command instead of only sunrise/sunset, from my Watch, and I got that using animations. Best hue app easilyLove it. Love everything about it. Surprised philips hasn’t bought you guys out by now as it’s amazing how well iconnect hue works compared to philips app. I’d explain why, but if you’re reading this just know I’ve tried maybe half a dozen of the most highly rated hue apps on the AppStore and this is the best. Hands down. No seriously it’s better so don’t waste your time with others and since it costs like $50 for a color hue bulb, it’s most definitely worth buying this and all of the in app purchases (maybe like $15-20?? For all) again specific price not relevant due to quality of what you get. Seriously, I paid for all of the additional features, even those I knew I wouldn’t use simply because I want to contribute to the iConnectHue and ensure they never stop supporting this app. Ok. So now to the development team. I have one feature request/question (ok two requests) 1. Is it/could it be possible to allow users to create templates for switches and motion detectors? My switches will sometimes disconnect from the bridge for no apparent reason, requiring reset and re-detection in iConnectHue which results in loss the custom profile I use for each dimmer switch. This requires me to re-create the template and it would be great if I could create baseline switch profile that I can apply to new or reset switches. 2. Longer timer. Last I checked the timer maxes out at like 2-3 hours or so. I’d like to have a longer timer for those days that I need to create a one time “light alarm” that I don’t want to recur. For example, my lights typically turn on at 7:30 am, but I need to get up 6:00 tomorrow to get ready for an early meeting or whatever. Solves all the issuesI’ve had the iConnectHue app since I got the first bulbs. I also purchased a handful of other apps. IConnectHue looks good, runs quickly and has a great flow that makes a lot of sense to me. But, there’s one advantage of this app that is SO huge that I’m almost reluctant to say it because I feel the gang there at iConnectHue deserve all good things for this one and the competition will try to take it. So simple but so powerful is the fact that lights can exist in more than one group. It’s major. A MUST have for Philips Hue Systems—Keeps Getting Better!I was extremely skeptical to open up my Hue bridge to a third party app, but after having some issues with bridge memory & some of the dials, I took the plunge in for a pro with this. Plus, I saw it listed in the Hue app and blogs as a noteworthy third party app, which put my privacy concerns at ease. Simply put: this app unlocks the full potential of your Philips Hue system. Once you have it, you won’t want to go back! This app gets all the features you want, well before Hue gets them out on their main app. And still, this app manages to provide even more. With the most recent update, the Hue app allowed for widgets. But those widgets are seriously limited. Even using the Home app widgets, you’re missing out. But with the latest iConnectHue update, you can create a full dashboard of interactive widgets, complete with refresh buttons, so you can check the status of lights, increase brightness, run a scene (or toggle through several), turn on and off groups, zones, lights…in other words: you can use the app without opening the app. Now, I know iConnectHue doesn’t necessarily have the most “polished” UI, but if there’s any trouble, the user guides really will answer your questions. You’ll be on your way to setting up complex commands or button presses on devices that are limited when used in the main Hue app. (For example, my Lutron Aurora’s can now do so much more, serving as an excellent mini dial). There are so many great things about this app that even after all this time, I haven’t unconverted all of its features. They have sound and light mixes as well as their own scenes. But you really can get granular control over whatever you want with iConnectHue. The fact that it’s still ahead of the game is incredible and worth the reasonably priced Pro upgrade. Great for old phone users.I checked the app out because it was iOS 10 and later. My phone is a 6s+ and updating anymore would slow my phone down. At first I thought my only options were to spend a grand on a new phone or buy a smart hub and have everything I say be recorded. Both options were way more expensive than this app. I can't speak for it in comparison to the Hue app...because I couldn't even download it. I needed iOS 11 to turn my lights on. Makes Accessories Functional, Buy It.We smart light people spend too much time trying to make our lights do what normal lights do... this fixes that 100%. The hue app doesn’t let you do much with the add on devices and the routines are not intuitive. This app makes routines super functional, and turns switches into actual useful things that do what you want, when you want. Completely replaces an actual dimmer switch 100%. Beautiful. Upgrade to the Philips AppThis app is much better than the application provided by Philips, which has enhanced my user experience many times over. There are some cool scenes provided at no cost and others you can purchase. You can control multiple Philips Bridges through a single interface which in my case makes things much easier to operate since I have a Philips Bridge on each floor of my home. The application provides notifications when there are firmware updates for Bridges, Devices and Bulbs. Na Yea Its greatRead the negative reviews. The complaints are about either the app costing money, or it being too complicated. If the 5-15 dollars a year price is outrageous, these complainers should probably also reconsider buying 50 dollar light bulbs. Too complex? It has a lot of awesome functionality other apps don’t have. It’s gonna be a little complex. You may have to read for 10-15 seconds to learn about a function, be ready for that. Best Hue app, but too nickel-and-dimeyThis is the best app for Hue lights. I’ve bought them all. So get this one. Now just some critique to help the developer: - Setting switch behavior is amazing, and the best feature probably. Only thing is it feels tedious setting them up. Maybe just cause I just reprogrammed two switches, similarly (for each nightstand), and took forever. Maybe a copy function where you could sub out the bulbs? - Just too many separate in-app purchases. I can’t think of another app that has this many, many for similar things. It’s not even the amount of money. I’m happy to pay for it. Just annoying to get prompted to upgrade for every single feature. - I just want the app to cost money upfront. Or have one in-app pro purchase if necessary. Don’t split it into 20 paper cuts. - Rather see you charge for features or theme packs. Not both. Pick one to make money. The other should be free to sell the other. - This really needs family sharing, which I get isn’t possible with in-app purchasing. The best Phillips Hue app that exists todayI started using this app over a year ago because the original Phillips Hue app was so horrible. The support is terrific and you get regular updates. It’s the only app that I know you can easily configure the light switches with all sorts of push and/or hold combinations for each button. It’s well worth the money that you’ll pay for this app and probably does more than you will ever use it for. Long time satisfied userI’ve been using iConnect for a couple years now and pretty much think it’s the bomb. I’m reminded of how good it is every time I try to do something from within the Phillips Hue app as iConnect offers so much more. My three favorite things are the magic scenes, the way it can program my hue light switches for multi-tap, and the sunrise animation. If you’re like me and have several Hue lights, Magic scenes are magic. Basically, you pick a few base colors or really hues (or use hues they pick) and through two basic main controls (spinning a color wheel and sliding a saturation bar) and a couple settings (how varied brightness and saturation should be) you can experiment with distributing those colors. As you spin the color wheel those colors shift around the room at the speed of light. It’s really magical. Using magic or whatever means, you can then save and tweak patterns you like in the scene’s menu (which is like the one in the Phillip’s app). After programming several scenes, you can go to the devices menu and program your Hue switch. (Buy one. This app makes it great.) What’s nice here is that you can program different tap and tap/hold patterns to make it so that the switch can bring up several scenes by tapping through them. I programmed mine to have two nice dim scenes (one for TV, another that sets a romantic mood) and one bright scene (for getting work done). The taps are not restricted to any particular room. So, for example, maybe the first taps can set the lights in the living room and the last bring up all the lights in your house so you can clean up after that party. It’s brilliant. In the winter, when I wake before the sun rises, I like to run the long sunrise animation. I set it up for the whole house so that over the course of a half hour, my house slowly brightens from a dim orange sunrise to a full on bright “get to work” white. Of course, I run this while having my coffee and reading the news off my iPad. What a pleasant way to wake and let me know where I am in my winter wake up ritual..Abq MichaelVersion: 4.5.0

Does everything you wish the hue app didThis app is awesome, (such an understatement). It is EXTREMELY versatile, and if it doesn't do something, you might only have to wait. Every update has new options so that it is always keeping up with new hue products and what users want! If you have suggestions they seem to honestly care about your opinion. (Actually, I almost feel guilty that every update has a few new big things and I didn't pay anything for it; almost like I'm stealing something or they made a mistake.) My favorite things are, among others: customizable "animations" where you can run a program of lights at a specified color and brightness (I use for Dawn simulation/light therapy in the morning, and to create a flashing light alarm for when I need to remember to do stuff and dont want to be startled by a phone noise alarm), and an array of options for what every button does on the dimmer switches (actually the original reason I got this app!). I really like how the add-ons are optional instead of charging one standard fee. I don't need the option to use multiple bridges so I am thankful that I was able to save my money by NOT bundling it in. For being a college student, that kind of thing may make or break my decision to buy an app. When I originally bought the app I thought $5 was a lot and I begrudgingly went for it. After figuring out and getting used to how to use it, I was REALLY happy I bought it. I got way more out of it that I expected to! I also went ahead and bought some of the other add-ons and they definitely get used. The app is a little complicated at times (figuring out what is where, how to create what you need, etc...) but there is an information button on every page. If you're still confused (which, admittedly, I often am), you can contact them and get help within a few days. I think for how many things this app can do and how user-friendly it still is, they do a really great job! A decent app but not as good as it used to be to beI use to love this app because it offered a lot more flexibility when it came to setting up hue switches… it seems like it’s starting to lack behind the default hue app in some ways though. The thing that bothers me most is that in the hue app you can set a button to cycle through up to 10 screens. This app only allows 5. I’m actually surprised they haven’t updated this yet. I do like that this app has more options for press and hold though. The other thing is this app doesn’t let you save hue effects to a scene. The default hue app does allow that. I do like that it has more options for selecting color temperatures… would be nice if you could type a value in though… would be a lot easier than trying to get the slider just right. Amazingly powerful huenessI can’t say enough good things about this app. The magic scenes are great for creating animations with varying colors, and you don’t even have to edit them when you add/remove lights from the room. Setting up motion sensors and light switches works much better than the official Hue app. The in app purchases all feel like something that’s worth buying. Fun and functionalI love this app as a companion to my increasing Hue-covered house. I feel like I've gotten more than my money's worth and I have just scratched the surface of its capability. Takes Hue to another levelGreat app! I bought the version that includes everything and it is completely worthy. What’s a few dollars more after spending so much on the lights themselves? Simple & Extensive; Multiple HubsThis is my primary app for my Hue ecosystem; over 50 lights, dozen switches & sensors, and 2 hubs. My Hues co-exist with Z-Wave lights and devices on Wink, but I still prefer to switch over to iConnect for better control of my Hues—more precise control, more responsive, and straight forward user interface. Minor faultTldr: there will always be at least one bulb that renders pallets/animations incorrectly with wrong color. Developer said it was impossible to program color scenes and animations without fuzzing on the colors, and that some bulbs would always display incorrect colors. They’ll either be white or an off shade of the intended color. I’ve not seen that limitation in other apps. Regardless, the app doesn’t do what I want it to do so it doesn’t work for me. Amazing App. Well Worth the Expensive PriceLooking back, this is the best app + in-app purchase I have ever done on the iPhone. Once you buy it, you'll be extremely satisfied and wonder how you've been controlling your lights without this! Previously I was using about 4 apps. The official Philip Hue apps, Huemote and OnSwitch. I've also tried using all the other apps (paid and free). Each did one thing well but I had to jump between many apps. The reason I bought this app is because of the ability to program the dimmer remotes. The app did a fantastic job of programming my 7 dimmer switches. I was able to add custom behaviours to the buttons and configure it any way I wanted. I have remotes program to press the power button to turn on. Then press the power button again change to a different preset colour. If I press the off button, one group of lights turns off. If I hold the off button, all my Philips hue bulbs turn off in the entire home. The custom groupings works 100% better than the "rooms" Philips app uses. I can allocate the same light to multiple groups. Custom widget designer (in-app purchase) works really well. Allows for organizing and structuring your widget how you want it. It is very impressively done! Remote Access works well. Previously I always had to access the official app for this which didn't align with other app groupings. The animation is well built. Takes a bit of time to configure and play with, but colour cycling works well. Small quirk for stopping an animation, but that is minor. Presets are becoming my new favourite feature (after the dimmer configuration). Being able to create a preset for the lights, brightness, colours and then assigning it to a widget or remote. Been playing with the motion sensor now that the app lets you configure it in a more detailed way. Really like that the motion sensor can be ignored if the light is already on and set to a different colour. Overall, this is a fantastic app that will make most of the other Philips Hue apps obsolete. It may seem expensive, but compared to the price of the bulbs, it is a minimal fee that will allow you to get maximum configuration and use out of your Philips hue system. Easily the best Hue app available.I have bought a whole range of Hue lights over the past month for my new condo (4 lightstrips, 3 standard bulbs and 4 lights for a track) and downloaded over a dozen Hue apps only to find most of them mediocre. Even the best apps I could find were clumsily designed as far as the UI went or would not have all the features I needed. I just discovered this app tonight and I am beyond blown away by it. It is simply the easiest, best way to control your lights especially if you have several of them. You can easily group lights, turn groups on and off, turn individual lights on and off quickly as well as control brightness and colour seamlessly, have presets that include the lightstrips (something the main Hue app didn't do), etc plus they all work with a detailed widget as well as the Hue Tap! None of this would matter if the UI was hard to navigate and understand but it is laid out in the most efficient and easy to manage way possible, with every group and light settings accessible in an instant. I can't emphasize enough how incredible the UI is especially after having encountered all the other Hue apps that couldn't figure out a good interface for quickly turning on and off/dimming/changing colours on the lights. If you have the Hue bulbs, this is the app to get and the only one you need for control of your lights (of course if you still want party lighting, keep an app like Hue Disco around). I waited to make my review, now I am readyThis used to be my fav app on iPhone. I have used this app for 4 years All of a sudden, without warning, most of the functionality is gone. I would have to pay a couple dollars a month to get that functionality back. I will never use an app that requires (essentially) a ransom payment for it to continue working. My biggest beef is the timer control (i.e; turn on and off at dawn and sunrise, respectively) is gone, just disappeared, kaput! No warning at all…way to go guys (NOT). Now I am off to find and learn an app that is as operational and intuitive as this once was. My review from about 4 years ago: The best out there and it keeps getting better. When I first got this app a couple of years ago, it was only slightly better than the Phillips version. Now, in June 22, 2021 I am ready. Although the app has a couple of minor idiosyncrasies, they are easily overcome. The developer of the app is constantly updating what appears to be his pride and joy. For the most part, the app is 99% intuitive. I have about 9 Phillips bulbs and about 5 more to go before I am complete. Paid app with Additional MembershipI think it’s a bit shady this is a paid app that then locks most features behind an additional subscription. Ive seen other comments with the developer defending this by saying you can also buy individual feature à la carte without a full membership. And yes, you’ll see these marked in the application as “try free”—but it’s not free, since you had to pay to download the app. I think this app has a lot of potential, but please be aware that your first purchase is paying for a demo. EDIT: Adding following the developers response. To say 2/3s of features are available is again misleading. Take Animations for instance- one of the listed features in the app description. I counted over 60 animations available in your app. Only six of them are included in the base price. No one would reasonably expect that they would have less than 10% of a feature listed in the description when making an actual purchase. If I had three apples and let you take a single bite out of two of them - I couldn’t conscionably say you paid for 2/3s of my apples. I don’t think this is a poorly designed app, I just think you’re being opaque about what is available at what price. You responded with a “magazine” analogy and described the options to buy one issue or a whole subscription. But you have always been able to flip through magazines before purchasing them. OverpricedThis review doesn’t add anything new regarding the overcharging of the application and all functions of it. I myself purchased almost everything which will run you over $40 (regardless the 30% apple takes) it is still very expensive. I only mention that because there is a lot of justification for the overcharging. You will find out later (if you own an iPad also) that you have to pay for a new iconnecthue for HD as well. I have 15 lights, three motion sensors and three dimmer switches. This is the better application for doing animations (if I used them). It is also nice for setting up dimmer switches. I ran out of memory on the bridge so I cannot customize my dimmers or anything else. 100 rules maxes out the Hue bridge. Make sure that if you have homepods to set the SIRI commands for iconnecthue on the same device you setup the homepod(s) with. Color picker update is terribleI have used this App for many years. The recent update change the color picker for lights, and now I can’t select the color I want quickly and easily. They added a magnifying glass picker or something, and now it takes forever to get the colors right. It was an awesome app for so long, but the most recent update makes one of the most used functions so slow to use. Picking the color blue would take 1 second previously, now, you get the color purple instead, and then have to drag your finger around the color wheel for 4-5 seconds more to find the color you want. Doesn’t workI bought this app because it said you could set up timers for Hue lights that you can’t through the Homekit app or Hue bridge. I am a pretty technical person. After many hours of trying, trouble shooting, googling, re-reading instructions, this app does not sync cleanly with the hue bridge. I have a couple different scenes set up for my hue lights and I never did get all of them to sync or show up on this app. I even tried through the hue bridge. Decent but mehIt’s a decent app that offers some functionalities not available natively in the Hue app, but not a game changer. I paid for a pro version a few years back. And then later on they introduced new functions for which you either have to pay a monthly subscription or an annual upgrade regardless, which I find dishonest. The most recent update of the app actually disabled some functionalities I was able to use with the annual subscription or 2024 annual upgrade and moved these behind that paywall. Too complicatedI spend 2 hours this morning trying to get this to work. It is better suited to computer programmers than to people who want to control their lights. The reason I bought this is because the Hue App that goes with the lights won't let me turn one group of lights on and the group of lights off. I thought this would solve it. But after programming and reprogramming all the setting multiple times I finally gave up. Not only that, the app continuoulty 'forgot' the new settings I was applying, suddenly revertain back to older settings. And activating lights by "group" failed every time. I ended up trying to activate all the individuals lights. Also, this app is massively overpriced. I've used wicked apps that are free or less than $3. All this did was give me an enormous headache.
