Simple and elegant tone generator with two Oscillators and one Noise generator, each with individual lowpass filters. The oscillators also has panning, and can produce one of four waveforms: sine, triangle, sawtooth and square.

The oscillator frequencies can be tuned precisely in Hz or fractional MIDI note pitch.

Use it for testing purposes or to make old-school electronic drone music.

Supports Audiobus and Inter-App Audio: Stream the audio output in real time into other compatible apps!

The Oscillator Positive Reviews

Oscillator: simple & good toolI like simplicity of oscillator & it does exactly what it says. trying to understand synth-like interaction of the (3) channels, oscillators A&B and 1 noise generator. only thing i would add is something about how 3 channels interact but that would complicate it. so oscillator excellent as-is..Version: 1.3.3

Exactly What I NeededBack in the early 90’s… I use to use 100% hardware to DJ in our clubs. Fast forward to today and the entire landscape has changed. While we were concerned with beat matching, it was more of an Ear Game. Our one and only CD player collected dust before anyone would touch it. As I get deeper into DAWs, I’m not understanding all the terminology and what it means. This app has been an incredible help when it comes to the different structures. I can finally understand what I’m doing in this area..Version: 1.3.3

Best tone generator for testing audio equipmentI am using several tone generator apps to test a home built valve guitar amplifier. After trying several, this one is by far the best. Here’s why: 1. Log scale frequency sliders. This is so important. Down near 20 Hz, a difference of 1 hz is a big difference and you need precision of less than one Hz. Up above 2000 Hz a 1Hz difference is not very significant and you need to sweep quickly. That’s why a tone generator must have log scale frequency. Most tone gen apps don’t have it but this one does. 2. dB scale gain. Similar to the log scale frequency, if you don’t have dB scale volume control then you really can’t control the volume at the low end. This app has it. 3. More than one oscillator. If you are testing an amplifier you may want to see how it responds to a combination of a low and high frequency tone. This app does that. Most others do not..Version: 1.3.3

VERY AWESOME #technerdculture APPROVESThis is a very powerful, excellent, and useful app. MY respect for the developers. The only improvement I would make is to add a run in background and mix with audio feature. For audio filtering this is important, unequivocally. Must use. 😊🤓.Version: 1.3.3

Simple and direct, but not without depthThis is an awesome oscillator with loads of options, but still simple to use. It's always useful when I need to run some types of tones through my hardware, like Monotrons or Electribes, and trigger gates and such... And it's free... so... no-brainer: get it! :D.Version: 1.3.1

Audio generatorWorks great. I checked the flatness all the way, and from 20 Hz to 17 kHz, sine-wave, and it's flat, and from 17 to 20 kHz it drops 2.1 dB. Not bad. My only complaint is that from 17-20kHz it's only about 1/8" and my manly finger almost cannot navigate very well. I do recommend this app..Version: 1.3.3

Please say ON not OFFAs in Windows, where you tap START to SHUTDOWN, could you PLEASE have ON be ON instead of OFF? You may think it’s a “status indicator”, in which case it is correct - but it’s not, it’s an action button. That would be like saying “Click SAVE to delete this file” (because it’s already saved. The button SAYS so!) You may wish to view one of the other 16,777,216 apps that work the other way ;-) YOURS IS THE ONLY ONE BACKWARDS Otherwise, THANK YOU for a GREAT app at the right price! 😊😊😊.Version: 1.3.2

AU support please! This is a great app! Like nothing else out there. But I have two suggestions: 1) AU support so you can make an entire bank of these things, 2) pulse width control! Thanks!.Version: 1.3.3

Please, please add a 3rd oscillatorThis app is perfect for psychoacoustics experiments. The ability to play the tones dichotically is awesome! Please, if possible, add a third oscillator, so that we can explore the interaction between three tones (acoustic beats)..Version: 1.3.1

Hearing TestWorked great to “troubleshoot” my own ears! (I have tinnitus.) It would be even better if the oscillators could be individually turned on/off, but great tool for free..Version: 1.3.3

Love hate relationshipThis is great! But it needs a keyboard interface(for chords)and a filter..plus a third third oscillator. And a way to save setups .But still very useful !peace Christo.Version: 1.3.1

Can’t cast it via WiFi!?I would love to connect and cast the sounds from the app to my stereo via WiFi.Version: 1.3.3

Only one wish..I like this app. Very useful in certain situations. I only wish it had an LFO section :) for modulating frequency of both oscillators independently AND for modulating both filter frequencies independently. This app has major potential to produce a good drone sound. But without the LFO section it is not very musical. K. All I'm saying. Cheers, Toderz.Version: 1.3.1

Says what it does...Does what it says. Would be nice to see a sweep function..Version: 1.3.1

Wish it went to higher frequencies. Some of us can still hear well into the 18khz range. Please increase the limit..Version: 1.2

I love this app butThis is one of my favorite apps but it needs to be updated for ios 11.Version: 1.3.1

Perfect!Does exactly what it says. Thanks!.Version: 1.3.1

Perfect for what it is.A no-brainer - download it to test speaker/headphone/ear response ranges..Version: 1.3.3

Great OscillatorEasy to use and precise..Version: 1.3.1

Typical Kymatica!Sounds great! Works great!.Version: 1.3.3

Great app with many sonic possibilities!I am throughly enjoying this app and the very first time I tried it I came up with something that I knew I had to save. Opened up Audibus put this app in the input and then I put sir Sampleton in the output. Sampled the sound from this app in two seconds and then used Sir sampleton in the input of Audibus and the developers other phenomenal app Audioshare in the out put and trimmed the file and then used the "open in" feature in Audishare and imported into Nave from there I saved immediately. Then I used this sound as a spring board to create a very cool ELO sounding synth!! Thanks for these two very useful and very easy to use apps!!.Version: 1.2

Great audio tone generator!Very nice program. Really nice slick looking interface. The adjustment controls are very smart, with coarse adjustments on the main bar, medium adjustments on the bar underneath, and fine adjustments using the arrows on the left and right. Really excellent program -- I'm using it for a two-tone generator for adjusting SSB amplifiers. Thank you!.Version: 1.2

Sound Source for AudiobusThis a great sound source for Audiobus which you can use to create a waveform and then filter with other apps. A straightforward interface. Be sure you understand what the app does before you get it. Hopefully Jack support will be added in the future..Version: 1.0

Great minimal tone generator!I've been looking for an app like this for some time. It's well-designed and super easy to use. Definitely worth downloading if you're looking for a no-frills way to play around different tonal combinations..Version: 1.3

The bestThank you for this app! I can now get a project done in my computer engineering course. The ability to blend in a certain amount of white noise makes this an absolutely brilliant app. Thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!.Version: 1.2

Great toolElegant and useful. I plan to use this to figure out the frequencies that hit hardest through the sub in my car / my house speakers / etc, then to mix tracks accordingly..Version: 1.2

Useful for the toolboxOne of those apps you don't need all the time but when you do you'll be glad you have it..Version: 1.2

Please add the other color noises. And thank you for such great products!I've been looking at around 40 noise apps in the last two hours lol. Seems like this may be one of two or the only noise generator that outputs to audiobus and has audiocopy/paste. I haven't found one for audiobus that outputs pink noise yet. I liked Whitenoise Pro which for $4 also let's you remix 100 different sounds into the built-in alarm clock and has 100 five star ratings but no audiobus. I'm working on making dance noise swells, sweeps, risers, build ups. I have Effectrix and Turnado and am very happy with Sugar Bytes developers products. I'm going to try their Wow filter box which the reviews mention has a lot of presets. Speaking of audio copying, that reminds me of Audioshare which is also by Kymatica developer. Audioshare's bpm trim function is great because it is accurate to the one hundredth power. I was able to make one hundred shorter loop edits picking my favorite two beat and four beats from needlessly long 32 beat loop patterns with undesirable loop portions. Every time on he money! Audioshare helped me to consolidate my sound library relatively quickly. Two, it left a trail in Audioshare which I could simply export out to computer and import into another workstation app. I'm so happy because Audioshare helped me save so much space by deleting out unwanted loops. Also, I have so many more unique beats, and I did't have a beard to shave off afterwards. Thank you. Does anyone of an app that can bring order to unmetronomed live performance recordings so that the beats are on not off and also keep the pitch the same while doing that? If you do please let me know at Djgreggar soundcloud. Thank you..Version: 1.2

Solid oscillator appExactly what you're looking for in a basic oscillator app, and the developer is first-rate. Check out his AUFX apps for killer reverb and delay apps!.Version: 1.2

AwesomeAwesome app and awesome Dev. Dev's giving this away, but you should check out his other apps. Most with a small footprint but top notch..Version: 1.2

Awesome app!Very stable and useful for many purposes including audio measurement as well as synthesing and simply recording a nice melodies. Thanks devs for tremendous product! Love it!!.Version: 1.2

Hardcore!Brutally metal. Makes a great, thick sound. Looks clean, and works flawlessly. A resonance parameter for each cutoff would be cool and perhaps drive..Version: 1.2

Very niceGlad he made some thing that iOS musicians asked for.Version: 1.2

Simple, elegant— as advertisedDoes exactly what it's supposed to do, and does it intuitively..Version: 1.2

Great App, Great DeveloperTons of fun with Audiobus, can get some great sounds for sampling with some fx. Buy all this guys apps!.Version: 1.2

Excellent!!!Hard pan each oscillators left and right, slightly detune to taste and surf the standing waves!!!.Version: 1.3

Very effective appGreat for testing frequency ranges of equipment. The sine wave also makes for great sub-bass effects..Version: 1.3

DecentWish there were some guidelines, or presets. Or suggestions. This is probably awesome for pros. I'm just an average guy w an ok system..Version: 1.2

Love it!Noisemakers! U know who u are. A wonderful addition for your arsenal ! Thanks developers! God bless!!!!!!!.Version: 1.1

LoveVery easy to test the speaker.Version: 1.2

The Drone reigns supreme METAL!YES! Finally something practical! Thank you!.Version: 1.1

Does the job! I like it.My new high-efficiency furnace makes a medium pitched tone when running with high fan speed. The tone is too loud if you are trying to sleep. So, I used this app and identified the frequency of the tone (1046.5 Hz). Now the installers can communicate with the factory, providing quantified data, to help diagnose and resolve the problem. This app has three fineness controls. The red bar is coarse adjustment, the arrows on the side are fine adjustment, and if you swipe over the frequency number itself (under the red bar), it is a medium adjustment. This last adjustment is not obvious, however, is very convenient. The app also has a noise generator. One place the app could improve is that the two provided oscillators and one noise generator are all additive, even when the other two generators are turned off. It would be beneficial if you have the other two generators in the off position, you only hear the generator of interest. The work around if just turn the amplitude of the other generators to zero. This is certainly a beneficial app with many uses..Version: 1.3.1

Oscillator Mini-reviewI bought this app solely based on a thread on the audiob.us forums. It supports Audiobus in the input and effects slots. It provides two tone generators with sine, square, and saw-tooth patterns, and has a white-noise generator. It works well, and is light weight and effective. The only things missing are: * panning controls on the tone generators, allowing you to position the tones in the stereo mix (channel alignment tones or binaural tones) * presets, so you can recall your favorite tone set-ups. A couple of good stock presets could be 440 Hz and 1K Hz sine waves for recording "slate" markers. Overall, a good app that does exactly what it claims..Version: 1.1

I can now make more experimentI can now make stroboscopic effect with this app!! Pretty good.Version: 1.2
