Very satisfiedThis app is genuinely amazing. I’m just a teenager who likes chopping up cool sounds and I’m inspired by artists like DOOM and Kanye but I’m not using this for anything commercial. I’m simply wasting my time and I’ve spent HOURS on this app and it is nearly perfect. It’s got great filters and stuff. My only issue is that it crashes sometimes when I try to zoom in on a chop. I would also like to see some more features like allowing a soundpad to stop when another one is played or something like that to stop overlap but other than that this app is great. 2ND Update - consistent improvements.Apple won’t let me update my original review but I had to write a new review to talk about how great Dawnbeat is. It started off with promise and consistent updates make this app a sampler you can’t ignore. Bit by bit it’s been enticing me to step away from the Marsupial king and do more in DB. The only thing that’s bothering me right now (and maybe I’m just missing something) is there doesn’t seem to be an easy way to copy a sequence from one page to the next. The only way I can see to do it is go in to a sequence, select all, edit copy, go to a new sequence, edit past. It would be helpful if there was a sequence manager like the pad manager. Otherwise this app is so much fun and I get interesting grooves going instantly with it. To developer: I know we can copy a sequence by dragging it. This seems to only work when copying a sequence to the same page. If I want to copy one for 16 to 32 and try to drag the sequence, it just freezes on the screen and often crashes the program..NomadxoxoVersion: 1.0.82

The BRIIK feature makes it Better than MPC!!!The best part of a mobile sample DAW is the ease of browsing your samples and easily adding them to the pads (simply tap to hear and drag to a pad). Ableton One is pretty nice. DP24 is pretty good too. The bank load feature of MPC is real dope and has one up on Dawnbeats in that way. But when its comparison of everything you need in a mobile DAW (FLS mobile notwithstanding)with easy browsing and an intuitive setup (plus the HIGHLY adaptive and flexible bluetooth MIDI control), for me Dawnbeats is the future of mobile app sample DAWs. I’ve been using this app for about a month now and it’s simply is the best I’ve ever seen for sample drumming. The BRIIK feature is what sets it apart from any other sample mobile sample DAW application. Well, there are no instructions for this feature and the help menu., I quickly figured out how to use it and where it’s strengths lie. It quite simply is the hallmark of the whole app if you ask me..YoTrakzVersion: 1.2.6

Fun Sample Excursions Abound😎This little gem is similar to Beatmaker 3, similar to Koala, similar to MPC 2, similar to BeatHawk, similar to… well… all of the sample based beat making apps out there for us to choose from. Thankfully, we have many options and we can always choose to use more than one to make our beats! What makes this one special in its own right is the playful nature of the interface and the neat tools you can explore to flush out your sample patterns and play with in a live fashion. The inclusion of Briks makes sequencing samples a lot of fun. With 6 sample lanes that can each hold any number of different samples along the timeline, you can quickly try different sequence ideas, slice and reslice samples, and rearrange your sequences at will! A ton of fun!!! Depending on what you want out your sample-based beat making experience, you may or may not enjoy this experience. I personally think it’s rather fun and allows for some playful beat making that isn’t readily available in any of the other beat making apps you probably already know and love. While other apps may have better features here or there, this one holds a place on all of my iPad and iPhone devices, next to many other beat making apps… and it stands, proudly, along with all of them! I think this will be better than Koala….someday.This will be great someday. I think the developer is really onto something special with this sampler. While it’s currently missing some features and has a few bugs to iron out, I already feel that the design of this sampler makes it more fun to use than others I’ve tried. I look forward to the day it’s feature complete and runs with some more stability. The are some bugs currently: - The app immediately crashes anytime I try to import a sample using Audioshare. It also has crashed while loading vst instruments. I hope it continues to get updates to iron out the bugs. I can also confirm what another review said about the app losing sound after the screen locks. - In VST mode, when I record an audio file I’m only able to preview it once (if at all) then it never plays again when I press the play button. I can still load it to a pad and it plays fine. But, I can’t preview it after the first time. - Where is the ‘Gallery?’ When I record an audio file and choose to save it to the ‘Gallery,’ where does it go? - While running in AUM, after a while anything recorded into Dawnbeat via a mix bus sound like it’s been slowed/pitched down. Then after I close and open it again it sounds normal. - While running standalone, I often will switch between Files and Dawnbeat. When I return to Dawnbeat no audio will play (background audio is set to always) Features I’d like to see added: - Choke groups! - A master stop button added to stop all one shots, loops and sequence at once - The ability to share audio files from other apps within i(pad)OS to Dawnbeat - 24 and 32 bit audio recording - Auto save and auto-resume upon open options Otherwise, I’m having fun with it!.Blind Henry McCleanVersion: 1.3.09

Yo! We Got One Here!Look. I have an amazing recording studio, yet I spend more of my time creating with the iPad. I have sold multitudes of millions as a writer/producer with Universal Music. 30 plus years in the game! I can tell you technology has changed the game for the better and worse in the music industry! Nice one!Love it. You got something here. This is a lot of fun. It has almost everything you could ask for in a sampler/groove box app. Looking forward to seeing the improvements. My 3 wishes is for the record button to be visible while playing piano. Especially in landscape mode, “make auv3” would be nice if it was directly on the pads page, and for each sequence to have its own dedicated mutes. Ts amazingI love it. It’s an actually good functioning daw and free! Only thing I don’t like is if a sample starts playing you can’t stop it it plays until it’s over unless I change jt to only play when I hold it. Nice user friendly samplerIt’s a really nice, easy to use, intuitive sampler. I got started on this sampler, but couple of issues prevented me from using it extensively. 1. When screen locks it loses sound, though app is running. On unlocking, sound doesn’t start and app has to be restarted. I have been noticing this lately, so may be os upgrade is causing it. 2. I cannot figure out how to export edited sample to save in wav format to use in other software. Not sure if it is possible to do or not..Gfx99Version: 1.2.6

Beautiful UI but needs to be polishedI’ll start off by saying this app is beautiful out the box it gives off a dope vibe but the mechanics of this beat making machine is very in need of a touch up I would almost certain switch from koala to Dawnbeat if the process wasn’t so extra and I think that’s what koala dis so well was how not extra and straight to the point it is however this app has some issues that I’m hoping will eventually be fixed or changed 1. There’s no choke button in the sampler page meaning you have to individually choke each sample and the navigation to that option is super out the way it took me a few minutes to find it 2. As a sampler I was hoping there would be more sampling freedom however when I think of sampler I think of the first one I ever used which was sliceX on FL studio super basic straight to the point you add slice markers and drag and drop samples you slice however the one on dawn beat is very extra for no reason at all you can’t individually add marker points to my knowledge there are two styles of sampling you can do one of them in my opinion is useless so for me there is only one way to sample and the only way to increase markers is to slide this bar to populate but how would I know how many I need in the first place also the bars that populate are dotted lines and look a little ugly to me but that’s just my personal opinion 3. Recording and sequencing samples recording is easy sequencing seems easy enough but when it comes to samples it’s either you find the exact bpm for your samples or good luck to my knowledge and observation there is not time stretch that can match up your sample to the bars/beats Those are just a few things I can think off the top of my head other than that the app is pretty dope I won’t say I regret spending money on this app I see it more as an investment I truly believe this app could be a koala competitor it just needs a little extra love and care so I’m excited to see over time how it develops into the beat machine I know it’s capable of being!.DEKOI THE DONVersion: 1.2.3

Bit of a Learning curve but better, more complete and more complete than any other sampler on iOS.I’ve used multiple DAWS, apps, and software to make music for over 15 years. Dawnbeat takes it back to the days of the workhorse quirky programming that produced the SP-303 and other legendary machines. There’s a steep learning curve currently. But It is clearly a passion project to make the most complete sampler on the AppStore with plenty of flair. You get all the features you would expect from modern samplers such as auto chopping and a slew of onboard effects. But you also get Au app integration included. No 3rd party link needed. Also if you forgot to press record. It automatically can load the last bit of jamming you did. Standing on its ownWe all know it’s kinda hard to part with our beloved sampler that shall not be named because it’s Dawnbeats time to shine. Dev made interesting choices right out of the gates and I’m have quite a bit of fun using it. I dig the aesthetic although I can see why it’s not for everybody. Outstanding!Beyond obvious comparisons with some other sampler apps, this one is a heavyweight all on its own terms. The ability to host AUv3’s internally makes it a perfect sound design/loop maker app, for starters (the big Render button isn’t buried in submenus here.) When you host a sampler inside a sampler wonderful, unusual things can happen… that’s all I’ll say without giving away too much. ;) Would love to see a bit more stability - occasionally sessions with two or more AUv3’s inside will cause it to crash. Sidechain Fix?Electronic music is my wheelhouse and my house is many years in the making… I love this app. Something about it has me hooked. That said I’m having an issue with the effects routing, specifically I cannot get the side-chain channel to work at all. It’s there but nothing happens when I tap it. The App Keeps CrashingThis is a nifty mobile beat making app. It really has the hallmarks of something that can be great. My foremost problem with it is that it keeps crashing. This is a serious challenge since it crashes either when I am in the middle of making a beat or after I save it. Then, to add insult to injury, although it has a “recover beat” option, that doesn’t work. If I had saved the beat before crashing, it appears not to recognize it for reload. Effectively, the beat is lost forever. I’ve tried to delete the app and install it again, this doesn’t work. It’s a horrible experience. Developers need to address this to ensure the app remains a viable option to the likes of its competitors..IamSANhedrinVersion: 1.2.6

UnstableA powerful sampler that’s extremely unstable. Often times audio will quit working mid project and the app will crash without warning. Projects will also corrupt and be unable to open with no chance of recovery whatsoever. Songs will sometimes bug due to the compression causing a constant nonstop buzzing noise.
