Awesome app and platformEdit 3: Please stop deleting VODs after 30 days. All that amazing content, deleted from history. I get that Twitch does the same thing, but not deleting VODs (for at least 90 days, or even indefinitely and give the control to the streamer) seems to me like something that would actually retain users because they can go back and watch streams they missed. The app is amazing but there’s one thing I dislike.When it comes to using this app as a viewer, there's this one really important thing that doesn't work right. You know those notifications you're supposed to get when the streamers you follow go live? Yeah, they're broken. Hopefully, they'll fix it in the next update or something. So, here's the deal: you go to your profile, click on "Notifications," and then there's this option called "Live: Receive a notification on your phone when a channel you follow goes live." Well, when you try to turn that feature on, it just doesn't work. The app keeps turning it off by itself. Now, I never know when my favorite streamer is live unless I take a wild guess. And guess what? Most of the time, I check and their stream is already over. It's so frustrating because this app could be great, but this super important feature just doesn’t seem to work..Msksjwnwnw wVersion: 1.0.5.2

Great Platform, Poor iPad Viewer ExperienceKick as a whole is a breath of fresh air and I’m excited to see it grow. The streamers and community are great and Kick seems genuinely invested in both! That being said, while the iPhone app is well designed and very user friendly, the same can’t be said for the iPad experience. Chat is occasionally bugged and not usable, watching a stream in portrait mode STILL zooms the stream making it a disaster to watch, and the app can only be browsed in portrait mode. I have no doubt these will eventually be addressed, but given how long these issues have been present - it’s a bit concerning. Again the platform, the iPhone app, and the website are all A+ and I’m a huge fan of Kick! But as a primary iPad user for my everyday, this app effectively keeps me from watching and engaging with the platform and will until some of these bugs are addressed. Awesome For CreatorsThe revenue split is enough to make me very happy this is available to steamers so they can make a fair living and not have a tech company that does very little take most of that. I wish you could watch the streams after they finish though. Figured the video tab would hold that but I don’t see anything under the streamer I follow. It’s also strange that I can’t seem to navigate around in the creators page while they stream if using an iPhone 16. Even weirder, if I hit the down arrow widget to go back to the scroll, the audio continues but video vanishes. There’s many little things like this that give the app a rough around the edges feel and I doubt some of it gets fixed given how tech companies work. This app actually has a shotWhen I first heard of kick from a popular streamer on a different platform, I instantly thought it was going to be a hit by the way they explained it. He went on about how everyone was going to switch to the platform but in order for me to make this rating a five star some things have to happen. One bug that I hate is I can’t get notifications from my favorite streamers such as Adin Ross because the favorite button doesn’t work. Another thing is the graphics are low which isn’t a major factor but would make me like the app a lot better. Other than that all that needs to be fixed is Lag, Framing issues with fitting the image into the screen, and making the app a little unique with a better intro design. Fixes neededHey. This is my first time writing a review on an app. I have some issues that I hope a developer will see. The pools hottubs and bikini and asmr sections don’t appear in search or browsing the app. I have to scroll down in my following page and find said stream and sometimes it works if I click the category and sometimes it’s just blank. And crashes, when watching a stream for extended times it crashes and brings me to the homepage with audio still playing. Sometimes it just works in picture in picture mode. Sometimes when i click on a stream the video player is blank and buffering. Exiting the app and erasing the app from the recent apps usually fixes it. One last thing, i would like unban requests. Could be betterNeeds a away to hide certain creators that pop up on the main feature screen. Like the ones who are half… you know… you probably know who I’m talking about too. Also just lacks basic things like showing a list of who you’re following, and the chatting I find weird since it will show previous chats from the prior days stream and I personally don’t chat much because of that since it can hold your messages for anyone to view days later if you’re the main chatter in a small stream. No exit stream option.App sends pretty easy to leave. But while I’m watching a stream, you can’t close that stream out on the phone app. If you want to browse a streamers videos while watching their stream, you can because their page is covered by their stream. So you have to close their stream to look at their other videos. Very annoying. If you could add a close stream option and allow for better scrolling while looking at a steamers page, only about a 1/3 of my screen is able to scroll on a page. PHENOMENAL!I had some issues with the app logging me out every time I closed it out and it asked me to sign back in and agree to terms of service every single time but I couldn’t click on agree… and then the issue with 2FA. Critical bugs. Please fixAs many have mentioned, there is a critical bug for mobile devices. When trying to watch saved live streams, it plays for a second then pauses. The video does not continue unless the play button is pressed repeatedly. Videos are practically unwatchable unless they are live. Secondly, on iPads and MacOS, you cannot minimize the videos in the app. The arrow pointed down in the top left corner does not work. So you’re forced to just close the app and start again if you want to click out. It’s time these bugs get fixed so the app is more enjoyable to use..Yippykaiyay24Version: 2.0.8

The new update rules!!I NEVER write reviews but I wanted to take a minute to show appreciation for the changes you guys have made. It used to be that when you play a video, if you close the app and then come back, your video starts from the beginning and you have to scrub through to find your place again. Now the video picks up where you left on which is huge for user experience. Picture in Picture is also a must-have that I’m really glad exists on Kick. One big issueI like the app but I don’t get notifications for certain streamers, for example I was following my cousin and adin Ross before the app launched. When the app then launched I wanted to start using the app more but I wouldn’t get notifications for admins streams but I would for my cousins streams. I checked notifications settings in app and in my iPhone settings but it didn’t help. I even tried unfollowing and following back to see if it would work but it didn’t. Very EarlySo I understand this app was very recently released and kick is still in beta, but jeez it’s hardly usable on an iPad. I’ve used the app for like 5 minutes and there is yet to be any creative ability from here (again it’s in beta so I understand), and if you take a stream in to full screen there are no options to do anything but pause and play. You can’t even exit full screen without closing the app out and re launching it. Good app, a few kinksThe app functions pretty well, but I do have one complaint about it. I recently just started streaming on the platform and when I would stream on twitch, I would pull up my life stream on that app, so I can monitor how the stream looks for my audience just to make sure if I need to just audio or video levels. Great PotentialThis app has great potential. I only have 2 concerns (as of this moment) that would make me give this app 5 stars. The first thing is the fact that you can’t update hardly anything in the app, so you have to go to the website, which if you’re a mobile user, then it’s bad news for you. Great app just not for iPadThis app is fantastic and I love to watch streams from people on it. However, I am only able to do so when I watch it on my phone. Home bar stays visible in landscape viewingEDIT: The home bar does not fade IF you have rotation lock on and enter full screen. With rotation lock off and rotating the device to landscape the bar eventually fades. Seems like the app still thinks it’s in portrait mode when you have rotation lock on and switch to full screen (landscape). Mostly on par with the twitch player on iOS, but the home bar stays on screen at all times which it should not. When in full screen in landscape the home bar should not be visible, like most platforms it should fade after 5-10 seconds so the content that is FULL SCREEN is not covered by the home bar. Can’t even make an accountI was excited to get a new streaming platform aside from Tw*tch, so I downloaded Kick to see if it was a worthy alternative. I went to sign up, and the the login is by far the glitchiest, shadiest looking login I’ve ever seen. When I was finally able to enter my info, it wouldn’t even let me accept the terms and conditions. I kept clicking accept and the app would freeze. Also before that, every link I clicked on saying it’s dangerous and that I shouldn’t open it, so didn’t do that. After I tried and failed to click accept, I just went off and back on to re sign up, but the screen froze and all of a sudden I was logged in. I thought oh nice, it finally accepted my accept button, but nope. The profile page just had nothing, and when I would try to click on my channel, it would say channel not found. I just deleted the app. It’s crazy how in the year 2023, there are still apps that have login processes that look like a mixture of logins from 2014 and shady logins from stock apps like Robinhood. I’ll just try Rumble or something..MikeEb9Version: 2.0

New updateWith the new update they are cracking down on 18+ content. Which is great, but being over the age of 20 it is quite frustrating that my kick account is not allowing me to watch any of my normal streamers because of “18+ content”. I have been reaching out for 5 days now and have yet to get a response from the email I have to contact to correct this. The issue isn’t being corrected and they are not even replying to my emails. The support team has responded to me and told me I have to wait for a response from their privacy team- but no one gets back with you. They are experiencing “high volumes” of emails, which I can understand, but there’s no reason for it to take 5 days to correct this- as I am still waiting so that number may rise. Extremely disappointed in this app and the customer service. I’m not one to leave reviews normally but this is ridiculous. Kick never has it all together constantly getting worseThis mobile app constantly has issues! The emotes will work one day the next day they won’t. Sometimes the chat works off and on. Vods will not play where you left off at and will randomly close sending you back to the beginning. I’ve had to screen shot more than I’ve liked to, to time stamp where I left off at. Why?I downloaded the kick app in hopes to stream and to make new friends and memories. I can’t stream without some kind of OBS or live stream platform that I have to pay for. Launched too soon.I understand that this app is new but I do believe that you had a lot of things that should have been fixed and worked on, tested and bettered well before you released the app to the public. It is constantly crashing. Constantly skipping chat or not sending chat, malfunctioned in some way for mobile users. And now it won’t even let me use it because it tells me to “finish setting up account” when I’ve been using my account since day one of app launch. But I can’t even finish setting up because it won’t let me use MY OWN user name, and if you pick another under name to use, it just repeats the process over and over. The app needs a lot of work. Holding my breath for iPhone support.While the image quality looks good on my phone… many iPhone features seem to be missing. #1 and most important; being able to chrome cast or use Apple play. I have a 4K Vizio smart TV. No app available on the TV either. Can’t subscribe. No notifications. Viewing a profile page, unable to scroll the page to see recent videos. There’s an 1/8” sliver of screen trapped behind the GUI main menu that locked on the bottom of the screen. I could go on but…. Can’t log inJust doing 1 star so this gets noticed, not that I’m mad about it or anything. Just created an account, got signed in and started scrolling through streams and then the app glitched out and I was back at the login screen. Had to re-accept terms and conditions but the button didn’t do anything so after multiple attempts of spamming the accept button I clicked the back arrow and was back at the login screen. Then tried to log in and now the login button doesn’t even do anything when clicking it, it registers my tap but nothing happens. Deleted the app and re-installed but still the same issue of the login button not working. This may be related, but about the time the glitches started was when I got a pop up asking me to allow notifications, I clicked no, then got an error message saying “notifications required for this feature”, and then the glitch started. I tried to go into my iPhone settings to allow the notifications to see if that would help, but the app itself shows up nowhere in my phone within settings… super weird. InceptionIt’s pretty obvious that this app is new. There are an annoying amount of glitches. For example, the only reason i’m typing this review of this app is because i was randomly sent here through the glitches from the app. I was simply trying to look for a profile that i wanted to follow and after doing so, I wasn’t even able to follow their page. There was no sight of a “Follow” button and only found a heart symbol for which i assumed and hoped that it would allow me to follow the page. Worst app everI reported a streamer because kinda was showing adult content with minors in live and they didn’t do anything about it. Broadcasting also with minors specially girls underage doing erotic, semi naked shows, etc in live. Reported too because use to do cyber bullying and still up. They just answered me will investigate deeply but dont do anything. This app isn’t safe. Someone could get raped and this platform permit it and in live. I never saw an app that permit this type of behaviors even if they said they don't. Update 2024: I investigate by myself. Reason why Kick doesn’t ban does people is because they are in contract with them. Meaning that even if they are racist, pedophiles, etc never going to get banned. Signing up issues!UPDATE: The issue is fixed! ^..^ Don’t know if it’s been a problem before, but I’m having issues within the app. I’m trying to create an account, but it will not take my email, because it contains “.” in it, and will pop up this error message, (a pretty long one) when I try entering the email/username I want to use. Only got my email in by typing it else where and pasting it, that’s when the error came with the “.” Not being allowed. I cannot even finish typing it before the message pops up. The appeals team did nothing and claimed it was a whole new incident when the quotes they sent me where from the same first clip. How is something like this allowed especially when the vods were removed in the first place? Can’t use the app on iPadThe app seems to be stuck on the vertical position on iPad (not iPhone so far), which not only makes it very uncomfortable to navigate while on a keyboard, but it also does not revert to landscape when a stream is playing. Once I was able to click on the fullscreen button and it turned to landscape with a 4x zoom which made the viewing experience terrible. I’ve had to use my internet browser to watch kick streams on my iPad. Worst app I’ve ever usedI downloaded this app to watch Fousey. This is hands down the worst app I’ve ever used. Nothing on this app works. It doesn’t let me follow anyone. Lots of new bugs introducedJust when things were starting to get stable, it looks like we’re back to square 1. Lots of new features but none of what I use is working. Some stuff works, most of it does notThe app is pretty much not useable in landscape mode (which most iPad and mobile users use). Too broken at the moment!
