Liftoff - Ranked Gym Workouts App Comments & Reviews

Liftoff - Ranked Gym Workouts Positive Reviews

Solid AppLove this app, use it everyday to log workouts. A couple things I’d like added; 1. Log what grip I’m using, as this will also affect what muscles I’m working. 2. Log what attachment I’m using(interchange attachments on cable machines) 3. Add programs, like sets of routines. Ex. I’m doing a 4wk PPL program 6 days a week. I’d like to be able to come in on Monday and log in my program and start my designated routine for that day 4. Let me add notes for each workout so I can note if I need to add/lower weight or make changes. And have them carry over to the next time I use it. 5. add the ability to set your city or gym location and post a “ looking for gym, buddy” kinda like a LFG post for video games. 6. Add the ability to perform a workout with another person on the app without both of the people having to log it on their phones separately.Version: 2.3.5

Good but didn’t work for meThe app works fine but to an experienced gym goer it seems useless. To me it seemed like fixing a problem I don’t have, it helps you build workouts, track progress, and time your breaks between sets. All these benefits seem great but before getting this app I was able to track my progress though simply being able to lift heavier weights. I also just used the stop watch on my phone which was much more convenient than the one in the app. Plus I know what muscles are worked in an exercise by a simple google search. All these factors may be overwhelming when planning a workout as a beginner but if you exercise consistently you will get used to this process. Additionally I disliked having to input all my weights and rep counts in order to view my “rank” which was the only reason I got the app in the first place. Now that I have my ranks the app seems pointless. If you’re new maybe try this app or you can do 20 minutes of research to build your own split for your personal goals. I’m sure this app works great for some people but it’s not for me. - an experienced bodybuilder.Version: 2.3.6

Excellent appAs an avid gamer trying to get in shape there’s a great rank system and item shop that you don’t HAVE to pay for. You can earn all the currency you need just by being active in the gym. It has a well thought out streak system to keep you motivated that includes rest days. The only thing I’d take away is the aspect to pay for a premium. I get it as a future game designer but instead of a premium where you can use certain aspects of the app, I wish it would be more of a “membership” so to speak where you can unlock a free and paid section. I want to know what I need to get to the next rank instead of guessing and possibly hurting myself. If that were the case, it would be the perfect workout app. P.s. maybe add an avatar section 🤷🏻‍♂️ something you can personalize and show off. Then you could add stuff to the shop like workout gear and stuff to buy with eggs. Completely optional feature.Version: 2.3.0

Amazing App + SuggestionsOverall, I love this app. Motivates me and a my buddies to push ourselves more than before due to the game aspect of it. For a few suggestions: the ability to have 2+ of the same movement in the same routine (ex: I want to superset lat raises with push down and extensions, 3 sets of raises super setted with both of those movements. But you can’t split up lat raises to be 3 sets each, it will show as all 6 together. Pretty much just asking for the ability to split up those 6 sets to 2 sets of 3. Also more ranks on cardio such as running, as well as adding a bike machine). These are pretty minor suggestions and I know it’s still in development. I love this app tho, yall are doing a fantastic job and I can’t wait for future updates..Version: 2.0.8

Game changerI don’t rate apps often, but this really is a game changer, as the title implies. There’s times where I just don’t want to work out when I’m at home simply because I don’t know what to do and I’m too lazy to go through “best dumbbell exercises at home” search results. Besides every other sick feature this app has, it can even generate workouts for you based on your equipment and location. It does everything for you, it even counts your rest time and tracks all your workout data accurately. All you really have to do is actually lift the weight. That being said, I’d give this app 6 stars if I could. Truly a game changer..Version: 2.4.9

Absolutely AmazingI really love the whole idea and aspect behind the app. It has almost every workout you could want to add to your routine, and if it doesn’t, you can create it. I love being able to track my weight, reps, and muscles worked from before with the present. The “game” features of it make it really fun. If you “cheat” and put in fake weight, you are only cheating yourself. Now, the only reason I am giving this a 4 and not a 5 star review is because to access the body ranks, which was my initial reason to join, you have to pay for premium. It’s so cool to check out your “rank” for each muscle, but I don’t want to pay 7 bucks a month for a colorful little image of my muscle ranks. Maybe if it was like 2 bucks..Version: 2.0.5

Great idea, good executionThis app is pretty cool, it has a Duolingo esc streak tracker, the ranked system and it’s free for the most part. It inspires healthy competition which I like and you can have friends on it which is cool. One thing the app could do better, when generating workouts/ targeting muscle groups it keeps giving me other groups I don’t want to train that day, like if I’m doing a back day it adds legs which I don’t like. One more thing, when choosing splits it should let you choose multiple options. My split is typically chest and tris, back and bis, legs, then abs. Due to this I can’t generate my split the way I want. Overall the app is pretty cool, I just hope they don’t get greedy and make you pay to stay in shape..Version: 2.2.3

Great layout, awesome serviceI originally found this app through an instagram ad and a lot of the comments were actually praising it so i thought i’d give it a try. The layout is very user friendly and easy to look at and I also love all the stats they give about the muscles hit. I had an issue when switching phones, where I couldn’t sign into my old account and the app instead created a new account. I was worried I had lost all my progress until I messaged the Instagram account and the really cool dude working it helped me get my account back. Shout out to that guy 🙏. Highly recommend for tracking workouts and progress !.Version: 2.0.2

All gym goers should use this appIt's not even just about boosting your ego or being humbled with a rank. It's being able to instantly identify which muscles are your strong points and which ones you need to work on. The ability to track workouts live and upload them and keep up with friends is amazing. Liftoff has made my workouts so much fun, and I've been using it ever since I began going to the gym about 6 months ago. Seeing my improvement throughout the app is so helpful and satisfying. I began at around bronze for most exercises but now sit at platinum and gold. Very amazing app. More than 5 stars if I could..Version: 2.4.4

Amazing appNot only does this app give you ranks for each of your exercise which is calculated based off body weight, weight lifted and reps for said weight. But it also provides the ability to track workouts, provides the ability to create new workout routines, and if you’re not sure what to do, you pick your targeted muscle group , how long your desired session is, and it automatically generates a routine for that session, as well as providing useful clips of how to perform the workout. And the best part, ITS ALL FREE. I never write reviews but I’m really passionate for fitness, and I love this app. Thank you creators for making this app..Version: 2.2.1

Was a 5 star, still an amazing appThis all was great and the pro is great to have, but the main problem is the new LP ranking system. It’s really weird to rank up and how to rank up with LP in leagues, the old one in the Prelude season was so much better because it made more sense and I felt it was more even with my ranks. It’s still a great app and the ranks on the individual exercises is still amazing and motivating to rank up. I love how the rest of the app works and how it’s easy to navigate and work. It’s a great app overall just the main problem is the new ranking system, but it might just be me. I love this app and definitely recommend and i definitely recommend the premium version too..Version: 1.21.3

YOU DONT HAVE TO PAYWhen you first download this app it will prompt you to become a pro member but YOU don’t have to just click continue until you see a small x in the top left and then move on. I find this app really useful as someone who is relatively new to working out and I’ve gained a lot of muscle and lost some weight I started on this app weighing 214.5 lbs and now I am 186 after a few months using the app it taught me how to do proper workouts and stretches also helped my eating habits! If you are looking for an easy way to workout and lose weight this app is for you! (I promise I am not a bot).Version: 2.3.2

Best Workout Tracking App!If you previously had Levels (it’s called Arrow now, I believe), this is the upgrade you need. Liftoff allows you to track every individual exercises, create new ones for other people to use, and you get the satisfaction of being ranked against people across the world as a friendly competition. What’s more is that’s there’s a lot more convenience too such as labeling your sets (warmup, superset, drop set, etc.), which Arrow doesn't have. You can also set individual rest timers as well for each exercise. Can’t explain how easy it is to use..Version: 2.0.4

Muscle GroupsApp is cool, just bugs me the way it classifies some of the muscle groups. For example I do weighted dips and they are listed under traps and triceps as primary muscles worked rather than triceps and lower/mid chest. I also feel like upper, middle, and lower traps should be split if upper and lower chest are going to be. I also feel like weighted calisthenics is not properly ranked. For example if I will max out on 15 chin ups in a row, then throw some weight on and max out on reps and somehow my rank on the lift goes down when I feel it should at least stay the same since I’m obviously not getting weaker. Still a really cool app, just some suggestions I hope the developers see..Version: 2.0.5

TOTALLY WORTH ITThis app has completely changed how I view working out. It used to be a chore to do but this rly did change everything I mean i actually want to work out now, and it feels just like a video game it makes it so much more fun. It also keeps track of pretty much everything for you and it’s all easily accessible making it 10x times easier to know when you’ve improved. Overall if your struggling or even losing interest in working out this app is definitely for you!!.Version: 2.3.1

Motivating fitness appI really appreciate this app for keeping me motivated in my workouts. The app tracks the days you work it traps the reps and sets and weights of the exercises you do. It encourages you to increase your weight and reps and there is a nice community cheering you on. The app has automatically generated workouts, which I like, however, as a woman, there are certain muscle groups that I do not want to train, and the app does not have a way of specifying exercises or muscle groups that I don’t want to strengthen such as my neck, my wrist, my shoulders and chest. Overall, I’m pleased with the app and will continue to use it..Version: 2.2.2

ConsistencyI always struggled with consistency but after using this app for a week, I look forward to my workouts everyday. This app keeps a record of my previous reps and sets at all times making sure to set a goal for myself to keep pushing myself every time I work out. I don’t see myself falling off anytime soon and I can’t wait to see what future holds. Currently only at silver but I can’t wait to climb the ranks. Truly an app I recommend getting and trying out for yourself :).Version: 2.3.4

SuggestionsI enjoy this app, and it does what you need. One thing that I dislike is how you can’t end an exercise without removing exercises you didn’t fill in. I understand that’s there to motivate you to finish the whole exercise. However, there are circumstances where I can’t finish it. You may wonder why I don’t just remove it? Well, it’s because sometimes I modify other workouts like swap them to something I enjoy more or want to try and I want to update my routine, but I want to keep that exercise I missed and I don’t want to forget to add it back..Version: 2.0.6

Love it butI love it. This app is awesome and it is definitely helped me shape my workouts different and keep up with my progress better than ever before but if I had to find a complaint, there is just certain workouts that do not get ranked whatsoever such as cardio and bodyweight, squats, and stuff. I would love to see that stuff contribute to ranks and get ranked. Also, it seems that workouts are more rewarded off of how much weight you are moving versus the reps of the exercise, thank you.Version: 2.2.2

OptimalI know that it’s not easy to always have a lot of motivation when you’re in the gym, sometimes I certainly struggle with inspiration or I feel like I’m getting a little burnt out like I’ve been working out too much almost. Lift off makes it feel like I have constant competition and motivation and it’s fun to have a game that is is based around exercise. I give this a five out of five, it’s certainly worth the download!.Version: 2.3.4

Great app but…A very engaging and creative way to track lifts and stay motivated. However, I am a wheelchair user and have around 8 years of lifting experience. As I’ve been using the app and tracking my lifts, I noticed that all my suggestions and predictions are full of lower body exercises that I haven’t even done (obviously😂). I’ve also noticed that because I’ve not done these lower lifts, it absolutely tanks my overall rank. If there was some option to remove lower body from the equation/ keep it from negatively affecting my rank, then this would be the perfect app for me..Version: 2.3.0

Back on the wagonAt 50 I don’t have many friends that want to work out as early as I need to before work. I fell off the wagon early summer and just accepted that this is life as you get older. Then my son shared this app with me when I was home and jumped in on his work out. It’s been a week now and I love this app. I don’t need a workout partner, just something that I know is tracking me and that’s enough to get me back into working out again..Version: 2.0.4

CommunityI love this app. I got my friends and family to join even though we’re all on different paths with our fitness journeys and we were still able to compete with each other and keep each other accountable throughout the whole process thanks to this app everyone in my family and friend group are reaching their goals, faster, and more efficiently..Version: 2.4.6

Love it, butI love this app, and I even love how they allow you to do a lot of things without having to pay. My hold up is the actual tracking of the workouts. It takes so long to log everything that I feel like half my workout is typing on my phone. I also am not a fan of how when you want to put in how much weight you lifted or how many reps, it’s not clear on if it’s each arm or combined. So for some workouts I’m in a high rank, and in others I have basically nothing, even though I am strong in both areas..Version: 2.4.6

I like thisThis app has been awesome. It’s allowed me to workout more and have things scheduled while also seeing my rank and where I could be, it’s very cool. I think it would be awesome if they made a team season mode where you can have a group of you and some friends against your other friends and whoever can have the higher rank wins and maybe you could wager your eggs on it..Version: 2.0.2

Honestly best app I’ve usedI never write reviews, but this app really did change my life. I was never able to be consistent at the gym, but seeing my ranks and actual progress in the app made me addicted to this app. Unironically I would look forward to my gym sessions now because I think of how much LP I’m gonna get this workout. Props to the devs that actually made gaming into something impactful in real life.Version: 2.0.0

Amazing appThis app has actually changed how frequently I worked out. Before I got this, it was just a waste of time, and I wanted to focus on games. Now, this app basically turns working out INTO a game. The ranking system does need some work, like I shouldn’t be getting Platinum III over 50 pushups, but it’s whatever. PLEASE, install this if you want to get serious about working out 🙏.Version: 2.4.4

Great motivatorAfter going off to college I wanted to get serious about my lifting Journey. I saw an ad on Instagram for Liftoff and downloaded it immediately. This app is great because I keeps me motivated to go to the gym every day. I also got all of my friends on the app as well and being able to see what they are doing in the gym everyday is awesome. Very excited for the future of this app..Version: 2.1.1

Great app for liftingI’ve been lifting for about 4 years now and this is the best fitness app I’ve ever came across. After my workout, it pays off to see the muscles I’ve worked, all the stats behind the workout, and my ranking of each lift (if you have premium). Really recommend this app for those looking to stay consistent on the gym. Thank you liftoff team!!!.Version: 2.0.2

Love it all but…Great concept, only thing I think would be good for people who are trying to get started in the gym is being able to search muscle groups to find workouts that target that muscle so people can switch exercises for the same muscle group. I think it’ll help people explore new workouts as well. Other than that, I love the app. Good job!.Version: 2.0.0

Getting me back to workoutI love working out but god has it been hard lately, thankfully my friend recommended me this app along with social media. So I decided to give it a try and it’s been really helpful. And all the workouts I never knew off have been really paying off. Thanks Liftoff! Only been a week and seeing results.Version: 2.3.6

I think this will be number one on fitnessI like this app because it gives me that little motivation to work out and on the days that I miss my workout, I like how it just comes up with little things to motivate me, and even when I break my streak, it motivates me still sending me over vacations about it every day.Version: 2.2.1

The free version is actually amazingThis app is exactly what it advertised to be, even for free! I’m getting individual ranking per exercise that cumulate into my average ranking both for weightlifting and calistenics, I’m ranking up when working out, it keeps track of my workouts including weight, reps, rest time, and total time. I mean this app is incredible!.Version: 2.3.6

Works well and gamified fitness is funLike title says, app works well. It’ll get better as they add more small things. For improvements I’d like to see it integrated with Apple fitness so they can track distance and steps. Also more customization options on custom exercises. For like sled pushes or farmers carries (adding weight and distance carried/push/pull).Version: 2.2.1

Liftoff reviewGreat app just a little confusing at first when it says to rate my rank I clicked that instead of going to start work out portion and it gave me Olympian for 100 push ups …. in my head I’m like I’m active but that can’t be Olympian but then I figured it out and add the work out correctly and it gave me silver 3 Great app regardless !!!💪.Version: 2.3.0

AmazingAMAZING, you can see huge progress for the first few weeks and helped me quickly approach my dream physique, although you have to pay for your body to be ranked idrk about that, i look and feel amazing, this app helps you target every muscle from a personalized one or a ai generated one for certain muscle groups.Version: 2.4.9

Working out as a 14This app has help me want to work out more teaching me new ways to work out as a fourteen year old most of them like enjoying playing video games like I do but just play video games this app can help any kid or adult want to work out while keeping track of there progress.Version: 2.4.6

Huge MotivationThis app is insane! It’s exactly what I’m looking for when it comes to a gym app. Allows me to track sets and reps, but the really cool part is the competition it creates. You can see what your friends are doing in the gym too and help motivate them as well as yourself. I’ll be using this app for the rest of the time I’m in the gym💪🏻💪🏻.Version: 2.0.5

Why it helps new peopleI’m not new to working out but I will say this help with motivation and discipline with working out. You also see so many workouts that you may have never seen before. I want to say the rank system could be better but overall a really good app.Version: 2.1.2

Wish you could change the dateGreat app, however I didnt have my phone for two workouts and the only way to add it was to go to manually import. When I do that the app still doesnt count it as me working out on those days and caused me to lose my streak. Would like to see there be a date button on the normal log page.Version: 2.0.9

Fantastic appThis all helps with all the downsides of lifting it can generate workouts if you dont know what to do. This app also logs all of your progress throughout your lifting journey, also the app helps push you to keep working 10/10 app if having trouble getting started this app is a great resource..Version: 2.2.1

Real good for tracking progressUsed a pretty cool ranking system that it lets you use for free for a week then you gotta pay for it to use the calculator thing, but it still gives you ranks for free on your normal workouts so really no complaints since you still can see your rank.Version: 2.3.5

Great app and customer serviceThe app is great, dont really have any other things to say about that. When the app had just came out, there were some issue (they are now fixed). But during this time, the devs and discord really helped and were really friendly..Version: 2.0.3

It motivates me to do betterThe ranks show humble me and show me that I can always improve my lifts. Also being able to see what I have to do to get the next rank motivates me to do more than I would usually. The premium subscription is really cheap and affordable and worth it..Version: 2.3.2

SurprisedHonestly I am shocked I thought after opening the app the first time it would be like other lifting apps where the second you get in you have to pay for a membership but you don’t I love that they give you the option of this choice.Version: 2.2.3

Add more ranks like the ones in instaOlympian which is currently the best rank you could reach is hard to achieve. However many on the leaderboard have reached it. I think you should add at least one more rank as seen in the instagram account. Eternal, celestial and whatever the next one is..Version: 2.0.4

UpdateAlmost 2 months into this dope app. Keeps me motivated to progressive overload. Some exercises need to be updated though. My tricep rating is platinum simply because of cable tricep kickbacks. You have to literally be Hercules. To reach my other tricep movements I have to lift 80 pounds for 10 reps in one arm. I would need 50 more lbs of muscle to achieve this. Please update this exercise my ego is hurting bahd..Version: 2.1.0

Super coolI want this inside of me.Version: 2.0.6

Amazing.I went from having no motivation for the gym to wanting to go daily for my streak. 1.5x my bench from a few months ago..Version: 2.3.6

Very nice app, but at first it is complicated to understandNice app.Version: 2.0.8

Tres satisfaitCa m’aide a bien travaillier et a faire des muscles plus facilement en peu de temps!!!.Version: 2.3.2

Great appAmazing app it has made working out much more fun and harder to skip lol.Version: 2.9.7

$$$Very good with a great concept and good system but way too expensive (100 a year) atleast do ranking system free and it will already be way better.Version: 2.1.2

Very recommendedWow this app impressed me.Version: 2.7.4

Love it butIt’s missing so many machines and different versions of workouts. There are so many so I get it but it needs to get updated more frequently adding new ones I think.Version: 2.9.1

I love the appThe app is perfect I love how you can track as much sets as you need in the free version not behind a pay wall. The weight the tracking calories are perfect to I think you have the perfect things that are behind the paywall to stay behind the paywalls and to let those who just need it for tracking their workouts and seeing a rank for free is perfect allows so much balance and decisions if you want to get premium or not for the bonuses. Keep it like this please..Version: 2.7.3

WowIncredible app, super easy to use and fun competition. Updates only make it better and incredibly user friendly.Version: 2.6.1

Favourite workout appGood app hopefully they’ll release a version for the apple watch.Version: 2.6.1

GreatDove right into my ranking and told me how much progress i would make in a month which will push me to keep going.Version: 2.6.1

Great appIgnore nickname don’t know how to change. But I wish it was easier to find workouts with ai assistants to try find stuff faster as a few workouts sometimes have a few names you can call it.Version: 2.6.1

Ts peakTuff app but it dont load sometimes but i still hard fw it.Version: 2.6.1

Bricked means muscular btwIt makes me bricked.Version: 2.6.0

WowBetter than better.Version: 2.5.3

Update ruined itI used to be able to choose my workout but now it’s ai, they added macro tracking which is good but still bring back routines at the top 🥺.Version: 2.6.0

CARDIO OptionsThis is an amazing app great tracking, identification of muscle groups, basically a personal trainer, due to the break down of each workouts muscle groups along with the fact it’s a video game with the ranking system I love the app. Except for cardio options for running cycling and probably many more there is no other options for elevation gain, mountain biking, and the rankings are pretty inaccurate would love to see some more development of this side. Greatly appreciated!.Version: 2.5.3

The best app in this universeIf you workout in general and you don’t get this app….just give up lifting. Best app ever.Version: 2.4.23

Too laggyI would love to like this app tons of cool features but it’s just so incredibly laggy for me even being on a phone 16 with stable good wifi it won’t load or takes forever to load along with that when i try to submit a workout it won’t let me and just says error would love to use this app again if the lag could be fixed and it was usable.Version: 2.4.23

Should add moreShould add more workouts so I don’t have to add them myself and you need to pay to see your results.Version: 2.4.23

This is an honest reviewSo useful I wasn’t doing it but this app allowed me and helped me be consistent.Version: 2.4.21

Additional motivational factorI think that the ranking system they have and the levelling up can help encourage a lot people to work out, who may not otherwise. I tried the trial, that for sure is Worth getting, but not exactly clear as to how much of the app locks upon the trial ending.Version: 2.4.21

Brilliant app that teaches youThe diagrams for each exercise and body charts for each workout depending on the exercises and number of sets were and are so helpful in teaching a balance training routine as an intermediate lifter and the community aspect of the app as well is such a nice touch, couldn’t recommend it more!.Version: 2.4.21

AmazingJust stop counting drop sets and warm up sets as actual sets.Version: 2.4.19

Thee workout appFor a workout app that gives you as much as it does without the awful ness of a pay wall I’d say by far the best app I’ve used, I’m pretty dumb sometimes but this is very straight forward and it feels good to see progress and stuff with all the cool boarders and ranks will be using more.Version: 2.4.17

NiceSuper great for tracking, and the streak system and leagues are nice. The exercise library also includes lots of workouts, and it’s nice that we can add custom workouts. Everything is so good overall. Thanks.Version: 2.4.9

Track my workoutIt been 2 day I used it and it just awesome i love the automatic rest time it make me try some weights I probably dont think i can do so i give it a great 4 star for your app.Version: 2.4.15

PerfectAmazing app, best workout app ever.Version: 2.4.5

I got charged for the free trialUpdate: got refunded thru apple.Version: 2.4.6

GoodVery good.Version: 2.4.4
