Awesome app. I have my entire collection cataloged and saved. My favorite note collection app. In the app you can save each note with a picture of the front and back, value, and specifics of the note. It even shows you a total count of each note from every country that you have. The app can also determine pretty closely the overall condition of your note. This App is very helpful and has a lot of potential. Some things that can improve in the app are as follows. •Value. The value of each bill determined by the app can be VERY far from correct. For example I have a very torn world note valued next to nothing but the app says it’s worth $1,100. Its assessment of each bills worth, is usually off by a good bit. Usually significantly over. •Note History. The app will give you a very brief, short description of each note. I would like to see more of a detailed description with some history / background to each note. This would be very helpful to new collectors. •Note Varieties. In some cases, I may have a note that I would like to add to my online collection, that when adding, the app doesn’t have it saved internally. For example I have a few older confederate notes that I tried to add, but couldn’t because the app doesn’t have them saved to choose from. So I have to choose the closest or most similar note that the app has. Maybe a feature where you can manually add a note. Or widen the available options of current saved internal notes within the app.
This app is excellent! Cool descriptions of each banknote and different options for how to organize your collection. Highly recommend! My one criticism is that the app doesn’t always properly document the serial numbers if they are in different languages. Could possibly be user error, but it’s not a real concern for me as I’m more interested in collecting banknotes for the art and history than any type of rare anomalies. And this app far surpasses my needs there and includes some great articles on the hobby as well.
Love the app but there is a couple things that need fixed. For some reason, the amount that shows up in the value area when looking at the summary of bills entered or at collections doesn't show any amount or the wrong amount. The amount listed in the value box is correct though when you look at the individual bills.
OK, the reason why I did not put five stars is because I was and why I said the camera was glitching because like I was trying to make it clear and then when I do my next one, it’s not like working then I’m gonna have to keep getting out and keep getting out and like it said something, but I didn’t really know what it means so you can get this app. It’s really helpful just like another person sent over there. That’s the reason I give it a star, but it was good, 👍👌🏼
This app is great! I was recently gifted a lot of old doller bills from my 100 year old great great aunt and this app has been great for finding the value. The aren’t any adds except for every one and a while it asks you if you would like to buy the premium. I don’t think that the premium is worth it at all but I understand that’s the way the app makes money. All and all great app would recommend👍🏻

Now I do. Notesnap is perfect to help you put all your foreign and domestic bills together in one place and give you an idea what they could be worth. Still needs some work but it is the best note tracking app I’ve seen so far that has just about everything you want in an app that categorized money.
Just started using the app, it’s very basic. it doesn’t allow the manual entry of bank notes, it would be nice if it would identify duplications entered. When you manually edit a serial number, there appears to be a limit to the number of characters. On the plus side you can export the data and manipulate it, taking the photos is very easy, and the bank notes it has in its database rather quickly.
This app is really good and I use the point step as well and I don’t want anything to change about it. My only recommendation is that you could make a stamp snap because currently I am using a different app for stamp collecting and I believe you can make a better effort for it
I spent 1/2 hour trying to get the value of a note but i am not familiar with the terminology and what information was needed. So i decided to take a shortcut and spent very little for the service. Scanned it and VIOLA!!! Immediately it gave me the worth. This is a great service and well worth it for collectable foreign banknotes.
Thank You, I can keep track of my collection and find information relating to foreign bills in another language. It works perfect almost every time, I’ve had a very few hiccups and I had to double check the accuracy but overall great app.
I think the app is excellent except the monthly or yearly subscription is way more expensive then I was expecting, especially for an app that I might use once a year or a few months a year, and the monthly price is way more then I’m willing to pay for something that I’ll hardly use
Thank you for the free trial. Needed to check a special $10 that came across my path but this experience is rare so do not see a need to sign up at this time for longer. Good to know you are here in case that changed! Thank you again
The app is actually very good but I have run across several notes not in your database. I submitted the note with photos and catalog number and your staff quickly added them. Wish I could say the same with the last one I sent over a month ago.
I’ve learned a lot from using this app! It’s really easy to use and gives you all the details about the currency accurately and quick!
The valuations of the notes are not the ones displayed in your collection profile. It will say “worth 10-30”, then instead of how CoinSnap (their sister app) does it where they take the average, it will say “value $100” . Ruins the collection total value.
I love all the features it has there are certain other features I wish it such as identifying An older bill VG bill with more value.
I would like to Have asked the question ! I have 100 star notes sequential uncirculated and have gotten the price for these 100 together
Great app to determine the value of paper money. I use several different apps by far. This is the best one I found and the most accurate for value.
Would be really cool if I could move bills around on my lists and collection. I want to put my bills in order based on their serial numbers
Not only is it awesome it’s easy I am elderly and I find it extremely easy to take a picture and I collect it and find out how much it’s worth. Great investment.
LOVE this app! It has a lot of information and helps you keep track of your collection. Just wish there was a collector community/forum.
Does not recognize most notes.
Love this app, easy to use and organize. Needs an update to stay current with market values.
Definitely one of the best, helps identify the bill and give you the value
I like this app but it should have a valuation feature because that’s one of the main reasons I even got the app
Helping me get information I need for my notes
Quick and helpful. Informative Nice to get estimated values of most bills - wish it gave values of $100 bills.
I love it. It even has CoinSnap, which I really think is good and plus I don’t have to search them up myself.
You need to make it easier to contact you with regards to adding a new note…namely, Abkhazia thanks
This app is absolutely fantastic very helpful in keeping track of my collection, the one thing I will say needs improvement is the world map where it shows where your bills come from. I have a few bills in my collection that don’t show up in the map. The Bahamas, Scotland etc. now I understand the Scottish pound that I have is minted in England but it would be cool to see it on the map as Scotland
Very good for beginner who don’t know the value.
It’s very Simple, take a picture flip over, in 2min is it worth it or not flip a coin
Really good but it would be better if he had French
NoteSnap: Banknote Identifier Negative Reviews and Ratings
This is not a negative review but more like a progress report. First up, the app is way to basic for the fee they are charging. The app has potential but for now when you scan a note (because you can’t enter or search, which is a huge flaw) it just gives you a very very generic answer. Sometimes it gives you the same answer over and over and over for different notes. I find that suspicious. This app can be great but still has a long way to go. I’ll give it until my next renewal and if there are no significant improvements then I’ll cancel before payment. I don’t expect huge differences as I understand that this app is a work in progress and needs a lot of updating but if they are showing that they are heading in the right direction I’ll keep it for another year.
This app used to be great. Then came the update about 6 months ago, which has made the app pretty much useless for those that want to catalog their collections. 1. The drop down menu used to have the full name of each country. But now they use 3 letter abbreviations which in most cases are impossible to decipher what country it is. 2. The drop down menu now has multiple entries for each country…1 for each banknote you enter. AND they aren’t in alphabetical order. Without a search feature (which unbelievably, this app has never had), and the multiple entries for each country, all out of order…well, it makes it near impossible to find anything in your collection. Please fix the multiple entries on the drop down menu. Please go back to using the full names of the countries in the drop down menu. Please create a search feature. Without these things, your app is pretty much only good for identifying notes. Not for cataloging a collection. That’s why I haven’t used the app since that update 6 months ago.
I’ve used this app several times, but cancelled it soon after I paid the first year long subscription(now I know why they do that)after I “snapped” several bills that had incredibly unique serial numbers, which at this point is what most people are looking for. It will say you have a unique serial number, but it doesn’t say what kind, what the value is, or rate it on anything but the condition of the bill and how rare the certain denominations and years are, that’s it. It does nothing else. You could find out a lot more about a note with a free AI. Super frustrating.
Note snap has been VERY helpful by sorting and distributing my note collections. I love buying a new foreign dollar, and scanning it to see it’s details! However, as of one or two weeks ago, every time I scan a note, it will freeze up, and freeze my device. I have deleted and reinstalled the app multiple times now, even going as far as completely erasing every thing, but it still refuses to work properly. Please fix this mistake so I can resume my collection! -الشماس (alshamas)
This is very disappointing. I spent well over an hour putting many US notes into the database, but then when I got to some of the more obscure ones, like my national bank notes, they did not show up. In fact, even some fairly common notes like the five dollar Woodchopper did not show up. Ultimately, that means that this app is not ready yet, so I will have to delete it, and I’m glad I did not spend money on it.
Terrible customer service, went on to cancel because I decided I did not want to keep it as a lot of the bill readings came out inaccurate. Literally did this all within 10 minutes. Everything said that the subscription was canceled. Week later got charged for the premium plan for a year automatically which I never agreed to, and like I said had canceled and already removed the app at that. Tried to request a refund or at least charge me for a week if they wanted for $5.99 instead of the $30 year plan but was denied. Don't get scammed like I did.
Here is my concern. 1. The app is very expensive. 2. A few bugs fixed like 10 or 15 times. That's a lots of bugs. To pay that price and it not working properly is another concern. Sorry we can't find this note. Try again later. I can just see this happening. If you gave first time subscribers a discounted price I may consider subscribing. If it's as good as you advertise and it works like it should I would be happy to pay full price the following year
I can’t post a picture but when I go to add to collection I have to scroll to find the country, the country should be alphabetical order to find faster, or insert a search engine to find country, also add a new country in the add to collection, Doesn’t allow me to add a note. You should check out Maktun this app places the collection in a country automatically. This would be very helpful. Thanks
NoteSnap appears to be targeting TikTok collectors and beginners—at best. It is missing. It’s a simple take-a-pic and store the image with ai scraped information that is basic at best but easily misinforms because it’s not intelligent enough to actually identify rarity. It’s missing the concept of certification, plate numbers, varieties, blocks, printing facilities, print runs, certification scales, etc. Simple integration with PMG for populations and block/lots would go a long way. Integration with the PMG registry would give full variety access and checklists. Database needs the ability to add self reported grading, notes, better set control, needs wants based off sets, blocks, etc., friedberg numbering, grading service tags, certification numbers, population numbers, etc. The app has so much potential but completely misses the larger target market by making it useless.
I wanted to test it, so I used a front and back photo of a rare solid serial number $2 dollar bill from one online that sold for $90K and it said that it was a common bill only worth between $2-$19 if it's uncirculated. This has been the same for every bill that I've scanned. It does read the serial number, but as far as anything else, not sure if it's accurate or just generic info.
You know if you'd lower the price where more people could afford it you'd make more money as it is now you lose a lot of customers because they just can't afford it no matter how bad they want it.. just some advice lower your price. You'll get a lot more customers.
I’m going to spend less time on this review than I spent with this app. Garbage, it’s a money grB in hopes you forget to cancel the 7 day free subscription. Don’t waste your time. If you take a picture of a dollar bill, it tells you it is a dollar bill. Complete garbage it doesn’t track serial numbers. Waste of time for a collector. Shame on company that put this out.
This app is impossibly finicky to use and I’ve tried it on 3 common notes and it hasn’t recognized them at all. I’d give it a 0/10 The camera keeps skipping from Portrait to Landscape as you try to take a photo and ultimately fails. And then even if you somehow manage to capture the photo, you still have to manually point out the corners which is unacceptable at $30/yr.
This is ok for a hobbiest but not good for collectors. The grading is spotty at best. I’ve tried scanning uncirculated bills and the app tells me it sees wear and creases. It’s also not great at identifying fractional currency. It can tell the domination and issue, but can’t tell the difference between the different variants. I won’t be renewing my subscription.
There’s usefulness that has value but I am not a fan of subscriptions, if there was a one time charge for premium then I would be more motivated to upgrade. The free version is very limited, and the info whether you’re premium or not is all stuff one can obtain for free. So in my opinion, this is geared to reel in the newbies.
The app doesn’t take it to consideration low serial numbers or offset printing when giving a value. There are a lot of other things that make it build more valuable and your AI programming doesn’t take those into consideration.
The Billie AI chat bot icon is in a particularly annoying place and I hit it by mistake often. There is no way to shut it off or move it. Note valuations are unrealistically high but it does give some indication which notes should be presented to a real appraiser for accurate valuation.
I have taken a picture and tried to get my 1872 $50 bill into my collection and it keeps telling me it’s a two dollar bill. I’ve had it graded by PMG and it’s at a 65 so I have no idea why you guys your app keep saying there’s a two dollar bill it’s very upsetting and your robot that you guys have workingis just as silly. You guys need to work on getting this fixed
The last three notes have been wrongly identified. South Carolina banknote identifies as Canada. Type it in and all you get is South Korea. No way to fix/add. Also, silver certificates show vale of $10 but when added to collection show $136 and can’t be edited/changed. I’m no longer using the app. 3 consecutive strikes and you’re out!
Do like CoinSnap and take money from people each month for unknown knowledge this app represents if they’re a error or special serial #’s tell people on the app , instead of saying more money if unique serials or error we already know the obvious .Coinsnapupdated their app I haven’t used it much since they did so I’ll find out in time if it’s any better . COME ON GUYS WORK ON IT TEAMWORK makes the DREAMWORK, thank u🧐🧐
I downloaded this app because the coin app works great. Big mistake on my part. No matter how I take the pictures and adjust them it continuously tells me no note detected. Does not allow flash for the pictures. Not worth the money or the time. Glad I didn’t have to pay first to find out, I’ll give them kudos for that.
This app is great at helping you keep track of your collection. However, this app is terrible at helping you get a value on your collection, numbers are super inflated as if you had the top pop on that note.
The App seems great, however there is a glitch where the camera freezes, and that makes it impossible to get a good picture
Book value and app show very different values
What’s it worth?
Cannot identify a 1954 Devil’s Face !
I have quite a few uncirculated bills so after I purchased this app bundle, I thought I’d give it a go with the ones that I knew were worth more. It was so far out in left field I want my money back!! It didn’t go above $50 on a $50 dollar bill! This app is really bad!!!
They need a value button! Like the app CoinSnap has.
…. There isn’t a way, that I can see to download the collection
Price updates are needed. My graded 2$ radar is not worth $4 🤦♂️.
Not too many problems using it, except the back of the bank note photo always shows up upside down.
This app really does not work
