I'm so grateful for the new items that are covered. I haven't even looked at the entire updated benefits catalog, because I found so many things I needed that weren't available before. This month, I'm in even worse shape than I normally am, and I just ran out of shampoo, my son needed his shampoo and body wash (which actually his favorite scent), we were down to one bottle of softsoap in the kitchen that we shared surg the 2 bathrooms..... My son just asked me for particular band aids we just ran out of. You get the jest. I have been praying for God to make a way in multiple aspects of my life, and although it's just HBA and First Aid products that equate to $50.... It is a few of those pebbles that broke off of the boulders I've been carrying for over a decade, and it's a few elephant's toes lifted from my chest, so....I can relax my shoulders a little and breathe a little deeper. I thank God for these little victories, for the help received from Sunshine/CVS, and for the ease of being able to browse a catalog, order products my family is in dire need of, and have it shipped to my home, or wherever I may be visiting. I know this is long for a review, but if I could show you my prayer request book, you would see that I've been praying so hard for me Him to ease my mind, quiet my mind, to give me guidance on my future and on how I can ease my financial burdens. That was last night. I woke up today and came to the app to place an order. Every single thing that I ran out of and needed...... It was added. Thanks for collaborating with insurances under the umbrella of Medicaid, to help families with easing their burdens. $50 is a true gift to an unemployed single mother with chronic health issues, without a vehicle
We keep getting app updates, and still this app is the WORST pharmacy app of the Health Insurance Companies. Over & over, we work on creating an order, only to get the msg “Oh, oh, something went wrong. Try again.” Or, trying to open the app & it freezes in the process of opening! You can’t set the app up to open with Face or Touch ID. After your online order is processed, it supposedly gives you a chance to “Print Invoice” but no matter how many times you try to do that, nothing comes up to print! After your order is filled & shipped, you get a text that it has been shipped. Shipped by which method??? No tracking information is provided, so all you can do is sit and wait, hoping that when it’s delivered, someone knows it, before a “Porch Pirate” finds it. I could go on with more problems, but I’m getting frustrated just typing this review!
The app was easy to use, however each time you added something to the cart and wanted to continue shopping, you had to start over from the beginning. This is a lot of unnecessary scrolling and it is more time consuming than it needs to be. There is also no great organization in how the items appear. Like items should be grouped together so there are not constant repetitions. It also makes it difficult to choose products because there are more than one option, but they are not near each other, so it’s more thinking as to what would be the best item to choose. It would also be helpful to have the pages to advance to the next at the top as well as the bottom with pages greater than 5, because it would make it easier to advance to the next page if the end is 10 versus 5. I didn’t get through all the pages before the allotment was used up. Although, It’s a great service. Thank you! I subsequently received the OTC item Catalog, and found it much easier to search items, once I knew how they were classified. It is a great benefit and greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I usually use the internet site to place my quarterly order, however when I attempted to do this I wasn’t able to place an online order. I was offered the app so I gave it a try and I was able to place my order online. To be honest this whole process is confusing as hell. It’s always changing, claiming to make things easier, but the changes only make things more challenging. You have the OTC allowing $30 per quarter, then you used to offer gift cards for making healthy choices, now that has changed. When the change was done, it seems like it was explained after the fact, then a card came in the mail which kind of explained a little better what was going on. There’s just no consistency. Before retirement I was in IT so I can negotiate the process…if I feel like putting in the time and effort to use the system. I just don’t believe a great number of people this process is meant to benefit can negotiate it. Just my thought, maybe I’m wrong.
This app is awesome and consumer easy to use, it has made getting my medication and other types of skin and hair products an ease. They have everything the store has and is very good quality app. Love this app it has saved a lot of time and money. Shipping is also pretty fast one time I got my stuff i ordered the next day I was blown away. I also have not had any problems with any order I have received. My products are always in the package, no mix up or anything like that. I have had such a great experience with the help of this app and the A+ service it provides each and every time I used it and ordered things. Thanks CVS for this amazing app and the flawless experience I have had. Highly recommended by Joseph M.

I love this app! Granted, it’s my first time using it, but it’s been super helpful when it comes to receiving my OTC benefits for my children. Before the app, I struggled at CVS in a number of different ways—figuring out what’s covered, staying within budget, and dealing with employees’ varying moods. It honestly discouraged me from even using the benefit at all. This app lets me shop for everything covered under my plan and have it shipped to my home for free. If there’s an item I really need that goes over my plan’s allowed amount, I can check the app first to make sure it’s covered, then go to a local CVS, use my benefits, and just pay the difference. It might sound silly, but I cried tears of joy. You have no idea how much this truly helps me. I LOVE this app so far!
Just used this app for the first time and my experience was very good. The category section makes it easy to find items and there’s a search bar that allows for faster searches. I’m still learning about this app and one thing I’ve yet to find out is…if the monthly allowance rolls over to the next month or if I just lose it and also if I go over the amount in my account then can I pay the difference since some items are priced a lot higher than what my monthly allowance is and it would be nice if it allows for paying the difference but either way, I’m really enjoying this app because it’s free money to get some stuff I may want so it’s a Win Win!!
It has been really better than before but ever since January, it started showing items not authorized to my account like before where everything shown was authorized and anything unauthorized was not shown to avoid confusion, delays and inability to make purchases. The other problem might not be the apps problem but problematic just the same, and that is taxation, which apparently varies depending on items selected and complicates the overall purchase and experience. Lastly, the credit card issuance, I’ve had to replace it three time so far and this is only the second month of the year… but again things were much simpler before and now way complicating. 🧐🤷♂️😡
If you are a person who gets insurance this is a literal godsend!! Only problem is that I had to hear about this app from a family member, I’d say that people who get insurance should be told or something about the fact that they could be using this. There’s been too many instances where I’ve ran out of hygiene products and had to make do with whatever, whole time I could’ve been using this. But yeah this is great I’m 20 and I’ve been using this app with my insurance to order hygiene products for about 2 years now. If you know your insurance information I would definitely recommend taking advantage of basically getting this free stuff with free shipping as well. :)
First let me start off with 1… the workers on the phone there English is very broken and very hard for OLDER PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND PEOPLE WITH a accent and they also do not understand what we are saying they just keep reading the same thing over and over 2… orders on line should be able to be canceled least up two 24 hours……3… Aetna also was informed of how my order was handled. 4….. from here on out I will go else for my need I will not shop at CVS period NO MORE I will only get my prescription there where I don’t have to deal with people that can’t understand…. Or I can’t UNDERSTAND
The only problem I have is having to go back into where I’m shopping because it takes me back to the selection page each time I view a product. Other than that it’s easy to use and understand. I do wished it would include tax into total before applying payment and then seeing I’ve gone over slightly and have to add a second payment. But I do appreciate being able to add the payment. Another plan I had a few years ago didn’t allow a second payment option.
This app is terrible to figure out. If I wasn’t a curious type I couldn’t be able to complete the account creation! It asks for my “member ID”. This is not correct. I got curious and decided to try my MEDQUEST # and lo and behold it worked. Your app should specify that it wants the correct id number! Don’t confuse people by asking for the member id and when I called your support link below the creation screen she told me to use my INSURANCE ID CARD member id!! Then she started talking to me like I was the idiot and her tone of voice became condescending because I kept telling her it wasn’t working so it couldn’t be right and the condescending attitude got worse until I said “I’m a curious type so let’s try something else.”She then tried to override me by insisting that I just had to look at my insurance member id on my insurance card. As she spoke I just went ahead and input my SOH MEDQuest ID number and it worked, (it’s also on your insurance id card but it’s labeled as Medicaid #), and I finally was able to complete account creation! Then I had to explain what I did and asked her to tell someone that they needed to tell people the correct id card number that was actually needed and she said she was making a note and someone would see it if they checked. >sigh< After I finally finished the creation part I was able to shop and order but the amount of choices are limited and WITHOUT ANY DISCOUNTS for the people who would typically need to use this type of OTC benefits. Worse still, my CVS extra care discounts weren’t usable. I paid the normal retail prices for cvs brand items without sale or CVS extra care discounts. Such a shame. We have a very small OTC BENEFIT to begin with and you’re charging as if we’ve purchased brand name items. I don’t see any reason why this app doesn’t have any kindness and compassion for the customers who would need to use this benefit. It’s too bad that nobody asked the membership what we think about this kind of thing and it’s too bad that nobody fought harder for better pricing during contract negotiations. I have to use this benefit and I did an order which was pretty basic. Hopefully the delivery and such will go smoothly. I’ll update if weirdness happens. I hope this helps folks during account creation. Good luck and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
When shopping online, the app jumps back to page 1 sometimes or if you click on an item to read the info it will send you back again and you have to scroll continuously just to get back to where you were. That is really annoying and it takes a while to shop for just a few items. Update: the app seems to have gotten better. Now when I read item descriptions or add to the cart it goes back to where I left off. I haven’t had any more issues
This app makes using over the counter benefits super easy because it accumulates what my insurance specifically covers. In the store items will be listed as OTC but quite often is not included on my insurance. I’ve spent so much time scanning in the store and things still not working, but this is WAAAAY easier. Also, by using it I’ve seen items I didn’t even know my insurance covered and the app in store wasn’t working so I was able to buy them! Very exciting bc I bought them on my own and they’re pricey so it helps.
I’m trying to leave a 1 star review but it’s not being allowed? How do you manage only 5 stars ? Anyway you are beyond expensive and you don’t ship for weeks and I need what I ordered you don’t even allow me to cancel my order so I can go and purchase what I need. I can’t wait weeks for it anymore! This is a terrible system and a glitchy app and soo way overpriced. 0 customer service support. There go ahead and call me a Karen I have legitimate complaints and no one to help!
This app is great! It's not that I don't like going to the store... Well, okay, I mean seriously, mean who in their right mind actually likes going to the drug store? Right? And this app makes it super easy to just key in what you need and it ships right to your house! Ba da boom! I'd much rather go other places than pursuing down the antacid aisle! Plus, I ALWAYS end up in the makeup aisle and buying something that I will never use and in 6 months it winds up in the garage can! I'd rather be at Nordstroms! I rarely toss my purchases in the garbage! lol!
The app is super easy to use. Would like to see a little more name brand over the counter cold medicines. For generic you can get all kinds of stuff, but the just go to the store and get name brand products. It’s great that the he benefits card pays for things like hygiene products and well as utility, and gas for the car. Transportation is always an issue with gas, this card helps pay for me to get o appointments. The fall prevention is nice too. I find a lot great things through this app. Medicine, first aide, cold/allergy, even healthy foods.
Very user friendly, however I wish there were healthier options….vitamins that are soy based cause inflammation, lotions with parabens, pop tarts are not a healthy breakfast ( food choices overall are deplorable I would not order any of them!), gummy vitamins are laden with sugar etc. you need to be savvy to navigate the options. Since this is primarily serving our elderly community on Medicare, many of which are experiencing health issues….that should be the first consideration regarding what is offered!!
Shopping with the app is definitely more convenient, and I really appreciate the feature that shows how much I need to pay—no more mental math at checkout. However, the experience is far from perfect. The app crashes constantly, and I’ve had to delete and reinstall it multiple times just to get it working. In-store shopping isn’t much better: nothing is clearly labeled, and the employees seem unfamiliar with the checkout process, which makes things even more frustrating.
I just love how I can order anything I want and some things that I need from over the counter. There’s some I didn’t know that I can order like condoms and lubricants for instance. And it never ask me for my card number. Unlike some other apps that claim to be OTC. Or unless OTC is stands for something else. But anyway or any who I’m glad that they only take money from my insurance. I just wish that my insurance insurance could give me more money to spend but I’m just grateful for this app.
The app is extremely easy inconvenient to use. It takes a total of three minutes for me to complete my order, as opposed to going into the store and taking up to 45 minutes at times. Even calling in, the representative are extremely friendly, helpful, and very efficient. I highly recommend those not needing their items that same day order on the app. It takes approximately 3 to 5 days to receive my orders.
It’s convenient and easy to use this app and shop from home. Thank you to my Medical Insurance Company for adding this Over The Counter extra benefit to my Plan. Thank you to CVS OTC for making the shopping experience seamless. If you don’t feel comfortable or confident with online shopping, this benefit can be used in-store or over the phone with a CVS employee. However you choose to use the benefit, it’s wonderful to receive needed items free of charge.
I appreciate the fact that there isn’t any added shipping cost. I also like the fact that everything is rounded to the nearest dollar making it more simple to keep track of the amount. My dislikes are that while some items, like acetaminophen, wet wipes, and many more that have many options while the thing I need; such as shampoo, denture glue, body wash only have ONE option. 😢 I find it very frustrating that I only have one choice for shampoo yet I can choose from about eight different pill planners.
This app works great for me. Granted, I’ve only ever used the online option for ordering products. Choosing my eligible items, adding them to the cart, and checking out takes me all of 10 minutes (or less) each month and I always get my order in a few days. Super easy for me to use as I’m a ftm to a 7mo old. Thanks for all the recent updates to the app, it looks/runs better each time!
OTC Health Solutions Negative Reviews and Ratings
Your development team just recently rolled out a bug fix and minor improvement to the regular CVS app and when I used it on Sunday, 29 March, the app did not work correctly as it did not allow me to click the blue + on a coupon to turn it to a green checkmark and when I did that, it just kept telling me the problem was CVS’. Along with that improvement and bug fixes there were two additional apps that I’ve never heard of so when I updated my regular CVS app that I always use it automatically downloaded onto my phone, the CVS over-the-counter or CVS OTC health app and another one that’s green the CVS essentials or something like. So today, Tuesday, March 31, I opened up the app for CVS over-the-counter Health and I started to create my account and when I got to where it asks for the insurance member ID, I entered my nine digit member ID and then there’s a and then I have two zeros. However, your app tells me that I must have a 10 digit member ID number as my medical insurance member ID. United healthcare insurance does not have 10 digits. They have nine digits and then a-and then two digits after that. I’m not able to use the CVS OTC health app until that field is updated to allow for nine digits or up to 15 digits. Would you please have your product development team quickly fixes issue so I’m able to use it tonight? And if not tonight, maybe it’s on the next Sprint agenda, with your company. Thank you.
I’m that person who never writes reviews. First, I need to say I didn’t bother with the customer service for this app. If the app is THIS bad, CS can’t do anything, or maybe they don’t want to, whichever the likely case is. Second, I should disclose that while yes, I’m on Medicare, I’m in my early 40s. I can’t imagine how my grandma would navigate such an app at her age, of the typical Medicare age group. I’m new to CVS OTC blah blah; I’ve only been with Aetna Medicare for six months. Yet, this app in addition to many other factors makes me wonder if I’ve not made a huge mistake by leaving UHC. I will be going back to their easy to navigate website and apps come fall. It took me 7h and a password reset to my original password to even enter the app. Every link I’ve tried to enter has failed, and I have received nothing but error codes. I was hesitant to download the app after reading the prior reviews, but after getting nowhere on the website, it seemed my only option. I was wrong. I’m unable to actually call to place an order. I’m not sure if that’s what CVS is doing-trying to get people to call-or if it’s a ploy to just keep the benefits. Either way, the app is an absolute JOKE as is the website and I know this isn’t the correct forum for Aetna, so I’ll leave them alone, but I wish Aetna would have at least continued with Nations Benefits. And I wish I’d stayed with UHC. Thanks for nothing CVS and Aetna. Are y’all even bothering to respond to all the negative comments about your app? Sigh.
If I could give this app a negative star rating I would. If I could give Aetna Medicare a negative star rating I would! I wish insurance Commisioner Mike Causey would look into Aetna & make them do stuff right & pay for the lies they’ve told their clients lies about😡 This app is horrible, doesn’t benefit one bit. I called customer service right off the bat when it wouldn’t work & everything she told me it would do, it didn’t & still won’t. Then the app wouldn’t open unless I synced it with my cvs app so it could see everything I was purchasing from cvs& get my bank card info etc etc…so u didn’t sync it so now it won’t even open! This is a OTC benefit cvs/Aetna card. I have no idea what I can use it for except gas at the pump & I’ve bought 1 OTC medicine & cvs probiotic with it. Bunch of lies from Aetna…I’m sick & tired of Aetna & their lies-I can’t even get answers -correct truthful answers whenever I call & talk to a Aetna CSR about my insurance plan. It’s insane! Literally I talked to 2 separate Aetna CSRs & both claimed to work there & both claimed to be looking at my plan but gave complete opposite answers in every question I asked!😡 I can’t even schedule surgery I need bc Aetna can’t tell me what my cost would be when given the CPT codes!! Also they tell me a dr is in network so pay my copay the I get slapped w an extra $85 from a regular dr visit!!! I’ve told Aetna over & over who my PCP is & it won’t let me put them in online so they said they changed it then sent me a new Aetna card with some organization of drs & address on my card as my PCP who I’ve never even heard of & I don’t even live near there!😡 I called back…promises I’d get an updated card, promised they put my PCP in the system but none of that has happened still!😡 Aetna is horrible & their CSRs know nothing & lie & cost me extra $ for lies they tell me! & they can NEVER let you speak to a manager or supervisor!
Why can’t CVS adapt its OTC Health Solutions app to go full screen on the iPad? I might be overlooking something obvious, but I just cannot get the program to go full screen. I use my iPad consistently in landscape position (my photo shuffle wallpaper kills!). It is just as aggravating as a splinter under a fingernail to use a 2”X7” fake phone on my screen with so much potential free space just sitting there! And yes, it remains it’s iPhone physique when I turn it portrait. AARRRGG! And for dessert, I use my fat fingertips rather than a stencil, so the buttons are ridiculously small - I can’t get the cumbersome (but I’m used to it) keyboard to pop open - heck, it could use all that wasted space around the pretend phone screen! I just wish CVS or whoever could get this app to intuitively know what device I’m using and adapt accordingly, like every single other app in the world does. This is 1995 technology in a 2025 world, and except for using CVS, I can pleasantly forget those early days of DOS. Why won’t they?..
Flip flopping between pages inefficient. (All OTC products are not available for view this way). In order to get to pages you must go back to original screen and start over if you’re looking for comparisons or want more detailed information. More products are available than are seen scrolling through pages. In order to do this you must put in specific items in search bar type in the product in order to find. Even then you may not see every product related to what you’re looking for. Very frustrating when you have to go through each and every page and in spite of that still not finding what you’re looking for if you can’t remember the exact product name or name brand. Products are much more expensive in CVS catalog than you could shop on your own. Perhaps Walmart.
I purchased CVS brand 4x4 gauze pads advertised as "Latex Free" . Once I received them, the box states, "Not made with natural rubber latex". This is makes it NOT LATEX FREE, as I have learned from a very painful experience, and is therefore FALSE ADVERTISING BY CVS!! It just doesn't contain natural rubber latex, but still contains latex, which I am highly allergic to both. A 2nd CVS item I ordered, "Medicated Heat Patch" states "Contains Natural Rubber Latex, WHICH MAY CAUSE ALLERGIC REACTIONS", yet this was NOT stated in the product description. That is 2 items wrongly advertised out of 3 ordered. Now I have to go to a store I hate in order to exchange them since I can't trust the app to provide correct, important information, or lose the benefit. I don't know which is worse. Also, the app provided only 900+ available card options out of literally thousands in the stores. This was a terrible first and probably last experience with the app. CVS is a terrible store and app all around.
It would be easier to find available items if like items were grouped together. Also, when I was checking out, I had to pay an additional $4.00. It said “shipping address confirmed,” but when I pushed the final button, it said “shipping address not confirmed.” I called your 800#, & the gentleman said, yes, a lot of customers have been calling & have been unable to get their orders processed. (Great.) I said, let me try something. I edited the address so instead of saying apt 210, I put #210. That was it! It then processed completely. The man said, “oh yeah, I see here, your address has to be entered the same day we have it here.” Now, how would anyone placing an order know how YOuR computer has their information listed. Come on, get that glitch fixed! I just gave you the answer! Get a tech to fix it!
The app can be frustrating to navigate. There may be multiple amounts of the same medication that are only found after scrolling through many other products rather than being grouped together. The grocery options seem very limited this time. While the image for the category is a jar of mixed nuts, clicking on it only shows a couple of liquid electrolyte solutions and no groceries. There is also a category for Diet and Nutrition but it only contains several protein shakes. It used to be possible to fill up the cart with protein bars and other similar snacks, but now it seems to be more medicine and band-aids or nothing at all. Perhaps that is better than sugary cereals but increasing the quarterly allowance while decreasing the selection of available products is really sort of a cruel joke.
This is by far the worst app that we have ever used. If I could give zero or negative stars I would. Hours on the phone with multiple reps regarding the item scan feature, which does not work. The solution? We will send you a product book to take with you to the store. So now let’s turn a 40 minute shopping trip into a 3 hour trip. Try taking a special needs person on this journey. It’s grossly unfair to anyone who is handicapped, elderly, or special needs to put them in this position. The big lie here is it will be corrected in 24 hours. That has been the common mistruth. This has been going on since January 3rd with no resolution in sight. Another solution? Order online, which means that an in store item that sells for $ 10 now becomes a $ 15 item, which basically reduces a persons benefits even further. CVS, you have failed everyone who is affected by this situation.
Not a bad app, but good be better. The searching could definitely be better. Those with OTC benefits would rather know exactly, including taxes how much is left on our benefits card when putting product in our cart. Playing the “add a product, see if the added taxes don’t go over the benefit amount on the card”, gets old very quickly. Maybe have an option that you can toggle on and off that says “Include fees and taxes in total”, as some hotels do in their apps, would be helpful. Also, why can’t you Zoom each picture of the product without having to come out of the zoomed picture, then “tap to zoom” the next, etc. etc. Just little annoyances I’ve noticed. Otherwise, not a bad app.
Slow to load list of items, tried to see all items available. As you scroll through there is no order. When I get to about pg 12 system crashes and restarts - at the very beginning. If you try to skip ahead you can only jump 2 pages at a time, but keep in mind they have scrambled the items you have seen with the items you did not get to yet. If you know what you want - say stretch gauze it may not even come up in search - you get the death spin and thrown out so you just put in gauze next time and sometimes if you are lucky it is listed, sometimes not even though you know you have purchased in the past. Does not let you know that tax is added to the order until after you have completed your selections. (Recalculate!!!)
My Medicare Advantage Plan switched to CVS this year for OTC benefits. HUGE MISTAKE!! I have dealt with CVS and their insurance apps before and they NEVER WORK! So, I hesitantly downloaded this app yesterday, and I could tell right away that something was not right, so I called in 3 different times and got 3 different reps who gave 3 different explanations, none of which explained or fixed the problem. The only thing I can figure is that the app is broken, something that is VERY common with CVS insurance apps. Using my benefits card in store at Walmart gets me what I need to get through the month (groceries, household, and personal items). I count on this benefit money to get me from one month to the next. If I can't use them because the app doesn't work, then I don't know what I will do, other than switch my insurance plan.
Came here for specific items but found that those items were either out of stock(Phillips Replacement heads) or unavailable on the site BUT available at local store(for us home bound disabled that is NOT an option) so ordered CVS vs trusted brand(Dude Wipes) hoping will at least be half as decent but experience as shown that is rarely the case for such vital tasks…there is more but think we all get idea, site is very similar to “Free Grocery Store” in NYC…the difference being at least not risking life and limb shopping, just the week long plus wait it supposedly is going to take(ordered today 2/21 but won’t get into 3/2…must be by horse and carriage vs US Mail)…think we covered it
Why would you show an option that is not available? I placed an order for less than my spending allowance but the taxes put the total amount over by $4.52. I was given the option to enter an additional card # to cover the extra amount. The transaction would not go through and when I called customer service I was told that I could not complete the process of paying any overage with a second card. Why offer and accept additional card info if it cannot be used? I also was told that I had to delete an item so that the total after taxes was less than my amount allowed. I am also unable to delete my additional card info even though I am unable to use it.
I used to get $135 per quarter. When the amount was decreased to $100 I called to inquire. I was told that because prescription coverage had increased quarterly allowance had decreased. I’m not on any prescriptions. So my punishment for being healthy is that my quarterly allowance has been decreased! Now it’s decreased again to $75. As if that wasn’t bad enough I now have to pay tax on the allowance which was initially included. So I went from $135 a quarter to $69 a quarter. Very disappointing. And so that I don’t forget I had filled my cart ahead of time and let it sit but it always goes back to empty. Also, I got a bonus amount but I can’t use it in combination with my quarterly allowance.
There use to be a tab at the bottom of the screen, where you could scan the barcode of an item and see if your insurance covers it. It made it easy to find out of the item was covered or not before heading up to the register. Every time now we struggle looking for items that are covered and when ask for help they just refer us to the app saying we can scan the barcode of an item to see if it’s covered or not. However that tool is no where to be found on the app. The paper the worker gave us shows it being between the store locator tab and the support tab but the little scan icon is not there on our app. This app is not very user friendly or kept up to date in my opinion.
This app is terrible! It keeps crashing or going back to the first page while browsing the product list. Plus it’s hard to spend the exact benefit amount and it won’t let you go over and pay the extra balance yourself. So we wind up unable to use the full benefit unless you get lucky picking the right combination of products. Why show me products that are more than my benefit because your app won’t let me buy them anyway. I had 3 products in my cart so now I have to start over again to try to get them in my cart and checkout before it crashes again. Also, only the front label is shown and the details don’t show the drug facts label on the back or even the ingredients in the drop down.
I was $4 above my allowance and added my debit card to pay $4 and tax it kept on declining. I called the debit card issuing bank they said it’s merchant’s problem so I changed and used the other debit card from another institution and same problem persisted. I thought to change the item so that I could bring total amount to my otc quarterly allowance of $30. To my astonishment, the same debit card worked. Why it didn’t allow me to purchase extra amount when I was paying through my debit card? Correct this problem otherwise don’t say that we can buy over and above the allowance! Should not happen next time otherwise will complain to my healthcare provider company Thanks
Every time I log in to this app the balances either show up or disappear while I know the balances exist. Secondly, Every product that has the Blue OTC label on its shelf was not eligible at the cash register. This included Kleenex, toothpaste and floss which are all preventive type products. The only product that was eligible was cortisone cream as if only treatment type products are actually eligible. The store person said even though the blue label is there, the specific insurance provider may not consider it eligible. And using the app’s scanner told us nothing at all as we couldn’t even get it to produce any information. If you scan something, it should automatically display information back.
You allow $40 quarterly for over the counter benefit. However, when I buy a product that’s less than $40, it’s impossible to spend the remaining amount on a product I can use, effectively limiting my benefit to less than the $40. You should provide an option to buy other items until the $40 is exhausted and if the total is over $40,, I should have the option to pay the balance with a different payment method. Alternatively, you should allow this benefit to be rolled over to the next quarter. You clearly are taking advantage of us with these purchase limitations so you won’t have to pay out the full $40 per quarter. You should be ashamed.
I made an online order today and experienced difficulties with the process. Everything went as it was supposed to until I tried to check out. I got an “something went wrong, message please try again”. The problem turned out to be that even though the deodorant I ordered was advertised as OTC eligible it really wasn’t for some reason. The order clerk said it was “removed from the plan”. My question is: If it was removed from the plan, why did it show as OTC eligible? This ordeal made for a confusing and disappointing experience for me (this was my first time trying your online shopping service).
I don’t like this card it doesn’t benefit me what so ever I do not like using CVS for services you have me under fall prevention which I have not fallen at all I am 65 but my disabilities are my stinky other health issues such as Mental and nerve damage and bone loss . Having problems getting what I need from shopping with this CVS O T C card you can’t buy healthy foods from family Dollar or Dollar General I do need help with home products and hygiene products too. CVS and certain Supermarkets are not as close to me if I don’t have someone to take I have travel by public transportation which is fine but can’t carry everything back home . Last year the National Benefit card was much better
This app is such a pain! AT first I was able to use the OTC Commercial reward ($25), within the app. My REWARDS is not working EITHER!! Y’all should just get rid of this app, and send 2 DEBIT cards to everyone. ONE for the OTC Commercial, and ONE for REWARDS! I tried using my REWARD, but this app is CONFUSED! It kept declining it and saying the rewards was for OTC only. NOPE! You are the ones who wrote this app, the explanation of what the rewards can be used for is for pretty much ANYTHING, and the OTC COMMERCIAL is for OTC items only! By the way- This app takes a nose dive when I attempt to use it for my OTC Commercial. It keeps ERRORING. Make a NEW APP, that works properly, OR retire it all together and send the cards like I suggested earlier in this review!!!!
Hard to complete order. When trying to check out, my address was verified with a check mark, yet when submitting the order I would get a message that my address was not confirmed, preventing me from completing the order. I call CVS customer service and they were incapable of helping with the APP, in fact told me it is glitchy. I decided to close the app, and when I reopened it, my order was still there; however, I had to re-enter my credit card. This time I had the opportunity to confirm my address again, and then I was able to complete the order with no other problems.
New app continues to be a Waste of my insurance plan’s money and a waste of my time. Zero to no choice in most items at ridiculously high prices. Now on top of tacking on a high price for your insurance item, now they are charging you for tax on top of that fee and asking for your credit card to pay for that. If you are me you don’t have money, So now you have to get less items to make up for that. Now you aren’t getting $100 in items anymore. Shoot for $90. When you don’t have enough money for food or medication, it kinda makes you sick to have to come here every month. You feel bad if you don’t and feel worse when you do! I don’t like it either way. Do better. Don’t treat people like this. Try the app yourself. At like a regular person and get on the app and experience it. Look for something You want or need at home. You’re not gonna find something you actually want. Guarantee. Try it! Why would we be happy with your app? Good luck.
The app is easy enough and using the printed catalog I can search for products at a glance, then check out ingredients, size, etc. or I can use the search feature to search for a specific item or a generic category to see what’s available within my plan. A lot easier than shopping in CVS stores! The app is not helpful in the stores for scanning UPC codes and so far, few stores carry more than just a few items I use. Easier to order through the app and shipping is less than a week, usually 4-5 days.
